Did you see the preview for next volume of The Boy Wonder? I'm so excited for Tim and Damian brotherism!! And Tim being Red Robin again!! It got me thinking about demigod Tim and his relationship with Aphrodite/Venus and no this isn't me projecting my feelings about Tim onto his godly mom, what are you talking about-

(I'm gonna go with Venus since you said you're pretty set on Roman!Tim, but obviously this applies to Aphrodite as well)

Venus is shown to really love her kids, so of course, she loves Tim! Her beautiful boy who's brilliant and loving and brings honor to her name, reminds them all that Venus may be a goddess of pretty things, but she has the power to bring gods to their knees. I feel like she definitely favors him; it's why she gave him such an interesting love life! But unfortunately, since she knows all the details of his love life, she can't badger him about it like other parents do. So you know what she CAN and DOES nag him about instead? His costume choices. He doesn't talk to her very often, but every time he does, she needles him with pointed suggestions on how to change his costume. Honestly, he should just let her take the reins, she'll whip up something he's sure to love, and it'll make him look so handsome! And Tim has to be like, "Mother, you honor me. You are so generous, but that really isn't necessary" in an extra placating way because his mother is a very powerful and temperamental goddess.

Meanwhile, Venus is just bemoaning her son's fashion choices. Sure, she can forgive the red-yellow-green eyesore because Robin was a legacy and a title, gods can understand titles. And even though she thought the red-and-black was so dreary, she was truly so touched by his gesture to honor his alien friend! As expected from a child of love! But every new costume since then has been downhill. She blesses him with beautiful long hair, and he covered it with a COWL? A COWL! And what was that brown and yellow monstrosity?? A child of hers, wearing BROWN! Will the horrors never cease? At least he went back to red-and-black, and with wings this time! She does so love a good wing motif. Wait, no, what is that black suit with red and green accents, are those BROWN shoulder and knee pads-

(Honestly, he should let HER design his costume! That way, it'll be perfect and befitting the child of beauty, desire, and victory! She'll even be gracious enough to let him pick one of the colors, as long as it's not brown.)

asljhd oh my god i can totally imagine this being the Venus/Tim dynamic. any time Tim changes his costume Venus just,,, appears and heavily sighs before telling him EVERYTHING that's wrong with it . i feel like she'd get soo fed up she just like. snaps her fingers and he's in a new costume and she just leaves.

and if i go the half venus/half athena route they both show up and pick apart his costume "ugh Timothy Dearest, this is such an ugly shade of green" "Timothy, you should add some more protection in this area" "You're covering up your beautiful hair??" "Make sure the cowl is more protected than that to avoid head injuries, Timothy"

Instead of being jared like Nico, Ash was thrown in a cage like an animal. Though... given her encounter with the Maniae, it was probably the most fitting.

While in Tartarus, Ash was cursed by the Maniae, spirits of madness. The twin giants wanted to keep her as entertainment, taking an extra interest given her mom, and had her fight monsters for sport in the 12 days she was their prisoner.

When the Argonauts find her in Rome, she is brought up to the stage to fight them.

An illusionist and daughter of the god of Theatre and Madness who is currently insane, newly possessed by a goddess, and has been training in multiple aspects of magic since she was six years old... not an easy fight. Luckily, she's not in her right mind and her mom is there to... help? potentially?

(an: she looks extra messed up because the illusions she keeps herself under are flickering. She is and will always be 11 physically but tends to wear a glamour to appear as the age she should be (around 23). As for the rest of it, she’s an animal charmer)

A random fable au/ fic concept that I'm not actually going to write but it is fleshed out!

Basically ic goes to their first home to grab something and they sort of just look around for it, they check the potion area, not there, the main floor also not there when they hit their old bedroom it's lying on the floor in the middle of the room, they think its odd but still goes to pick it up. When they do all the walls and floor turns to obi, any and all exits are closed off and if they try to mine it it gets instantly replaced there is no way out for them.

They stay in their room for a couple of days alone, pacing, almost never sleeping, the things are there sometimes, they don't know if they prefer when they are there or not. At one point they hear talking and they make out that its Rae and wolf, he hears them talk about how wolf saw there was just a layer of obsidian on ics house, Icarus doesn't know if they want to yell out for them, for them to save them because why would rae want to help them? But sadly? for them Rae spotted ic through the bars that Quixis glitched.

"Icarus? are you in there?" Rae's voice is nervous when entering the house. Fenris is listening, hearing Icarus pace back and forth. They couple goes up to the second floor. "Icarus?" a block changes to an iron bar they assume from Quixis to allow them to see ic in their new cell. Ic looks over as they look in, the room a complete mess, items are all over the ground, there are some ash some places on the floor, papers and flowers are spread around, there's a pile of obi from ic's attempts to get out in a corner of the room but the thing that shocks them the most is Icarus themselves, they started at one point fidgeting with the seems of their coat, ripping it a bit, tears obviously stain their face, the blood flows heavier from their eye as Quixis been active a lot more.

"Hi Rae..." their voice is meek as they address their younger brother.

"Icarus what happened? W-why are you trapped?"

"Quixis, they won't let me out, they glitched my com " they lift up a bar of gold right when it glitches back to a com " REALLY?!?!" They end up looking at their comm and the only contacts they have are Rae, Centross, Athena and ⌬⍕⌇√⌇⍩, with a message from the ⌬⍕⌇√⌇⍩ person reading "⌇'⌾ ⍩⌘⌭⌭⍅, ⌇ ⏅⌗⍋ ⏚⌘ ⍩⏚⌘⏄ ⌆⌭⍾⌗⏚⌇⌘⍹⍩ ⌇⍹⍦⍔⍕⍾⍹⌆⍾, ⏄⍔⍾⌗⍩⍾ ⍔⌇⍩⏚⍾⍹ ⏚⌘ ⍅⌘⍕⌭ ⍒⌭⌘⏚⏅⍾⌭"

"well I guess you got your comm back?" fenris speaks up

"yeah.." a silence falls onto the group.

"Icarus-" "Rae-" the brothers speak at the same time, they nervously laugh at the awkward situation that falls between them. The iron bar turns into an iron door with a button next to it.

Rae and wolf enters Icarus room as then the door turns back into obi and they start talking about everything trying to get an understanding of each other because what else will they do, they argue a bit at times but they end up talking about everything and come to understanding, that they both still want to be brothers and Fenris would love to have them apart of their family, they also reaffirmed that Icarus doesn't have to be alone they don't have to only listen to fable, that fable is doing more wrong then good, and they bring up how similar they're current situation is to Athena's and they just go "I know... I think I always knew, I got in too deep"

"you don't have to go back to him"

"I know... but where would I go?"

"Stay with us." Rae gives Icarus a warm smile.

Icarus stays quiet, thinking over what rae just asked them, they know he said it but Rae truly wants to still be their brother even if they've been nothing but an asshole to him his whole life, they nod slowly agreeing because deep down they want to be that good brother for him.

The obi turns back to what the blocks were before Quixis being pleased they finally listened as the group of three leaves the room, and flies to Rae's house together, Icarus enjoying flying after not being able to for days, they end up getting cleaned up and staying on the couch in Wolf's room in the house all three of them passing out next to each other

I made Athena green because of her association with olive trees, the white spots on her face are meant to mimic an owl's matkings, and she has owl and snake accessories since those are her symbol animals. Also I gave her hair tufts like an owl hehe. And her helmet is supposed to look like an owl's face.

Hestia is obviously all warm colours, her eyes don't have pupils because I wanted them to look more like embers, and her jewelry is silver to resemble ashes. Also freckles because I think they cute.

so basically, in this au, luke annabeth thalia nico hazel bianca jason are "adopted" by sally for multiple reasons, which gives me the opportunity to have luke be a mentor figure to nico, and nicos the one whos going to accidentally start the 2nd titan war, and im just so obsessed with them being brothers and luke being his mentor and. aah

see, so luke had a stable family and home outside of the gods, so while he was still pissed at them, he never acted on it for fear of his very mortal and killable family being. killed (and also couldnt be bothered cause he had to help sally take care of everyone) and so he never teams with kronos

fast forward a few years, the war with gaea happens and biancas involved and heavily traumatized and nico hears someone from tartarus and tells someone (havent chosen [probably luke]) abt it and goes with lesterpollo (still struck down by zeus) and boom. its kronos, whos using the aftermath of gaeas war as an opportunity to rise up and succeed where gaea had failed

nico is totally estatic at having THE TITAN kronos as for HIS help so he overlooks red flags, and lesterpollo is so desperate to get back to godhood at he just doesnt care (and doesnt care much about nico yet)

while in tartarus nico and lester (carrying ashes of kronos) bond and lester starts to care for him, and starts suspecting. not so good intents from kronos

by then its too late bc kronos has guided them back to the surface, takes control of lester, and forces nico to help him or lester will literally die

and so nico helps, eventually escaping for a short amount of time to explain everything to luke and make him warn the camps of what was to come (the camps had been reuinted by hazel, percy, and annabeth before gaeas war [oracle quest w/ athena statue] i still needto make a prophecy 4it)

Blacksmith’s Forge

Started out as a PJO Au involving only Fundy but then expanded to include the rest of the Cogchamp SMP crew

Kid of Hephaestus, real Leo Valdez vibes seeing as Fundy always has a tool belt on wherever he goes even if he doesn't need it

Having grown up in the mines, Fundy's extremely confused when a man in a wheelchair comes rolling up telling him about some camp

At first thinking it's some type of camp for troubled teens, not really having the best luck when it comes to authorities. Unable to count the amount of times he's ran from the coppers

Whether it's simple graffiti or a joyride on a stolen motorcycle, Fundy can't seem to care. Whatever fills the adrenaline rush when boredom strikes

It's only when he wakes up to his forge being overran by dwarves that he finally heed the warning he was given

Spends most of his time at camp, hanging out with campers from Athena's cabin, being the one to check over the blueprints

Seeing if their ideas are plausible and actually work. It's no problem if they don't. Hell, Fundy prefers when they don't work the first time around as it means he's gets to tinker with their designs.

Doesn't make too many changes as most of the mistakes tend to be sleep deprived errors. Still he'll see what he can do to make 'em more efficient

Mainly listens to Jazzpunk while he works, stimming along; mouth pops, banging his wrench against the side of some metal scrap, tapping his foot

Otherwise the other half of the time is spent getting his ass kicked because he decided to taunt one of Ares' kids. Also picking out the most hotheaded one he can find.

Starts out with a simple prank which he blames on the Hermes kids who already hate him

Fundy makes all his failed pick-pocketing gadgets shiny to their sticky hands, usually blows up in their faces literally. Not badly enough that they have to go to the med unit but they do end up with explosions of soot and ash on their clothes

So as you'd expect, they rat him real quick and Fundy always forgets that said Ares' kid will just cut the tree he swiftly scrambled up down

Butchering some remark trying to compare Fundy's fox hybrid traits to the one Aesop's fable—the one about how the grapes are just out of reach and the fox eventually gives up

Which Fundy points out and that's what finally pushes them over the edge

It's during one of these tiffs that he meets his friend group, as another camper, Sam decides to intervene for once. The Ares' kid ends up with some injuries for once as they tried to act hard when really, they were shitting bricks when they saw Sam's gas mask mixed with being a centaur.

'You really don't know when to stop do you?' is the first he asks Fundy when it all ends and when Fundy just chuckles out a 'no,' Sam sighs. Sam doesn't truly know what about the kid makes him invite him to his table but he doesn't regret it.

‘Guys, Sammie’s picked up another stray.’ Tubbo’s remark makes the others look up, seeing their centaur friend walk over with a fox hybrid

‘And he’s not in Hermes’ cabin? Being a fox and all.’ Crumb flicks 5up’s head. ‘That’s like asking if you should be in Hestia’s cabin. Or that I should be in Artemis’ cabin.’

Their conversation ending as the duo sits down, ‘Guys, meet Fundy. Fundy, this is Tubbo, 5up, Crumb, & Ranboo.’

‘Enderman if you’re wondering.’ Ranboo gestures to his dual colored skin. ‘Oh, figured it’d be rude to ask.’

When they make charms for their necklaces, they make sure no one gets the one they made; Fundy gives his to Crumb, Crumb gives its to Ranboo, Ranboo gives theirs to Sam, Sam gives his to 5Up and 5up gives his to Fundy

Exchanging numbers so that they can still talk/bitch to one another when they leave camp and return to normie life

I've finally been able to write for self-care again. Hallelujah. I'm feeling inspired and on fire.

Anyway, Yes, Chef!: Second Course is a fic I'm doing for no good reason. It's a 'where are they now' type story canon to The Cooking Chronicles AU and also explores plotlines that fell to the wayside in the original fic because they weren't relevant. It's sort of vignette style, but I'm going to try and make it a coherent narrative.

This is an extremely early draft and just me working some things out for now. If it ever gets finished and posted, which seems unlikely but maybe, it'll probably get drastically changed

It was about 13:45 on a Sunday afternoon, and the plaid couch sitting in the center of the cabin’s main living room was fully occupied, as were two of the armchairs and recliners off to the sides. The air was rife with chatter, layered and meandering, and thick smoke, which was weighted by heavy notes of chicory and ash. Woolen drapes blocked soft golden sunlight from glaring against an enormous holo screen. The sound was muted, replaced by the backdrop of sizzling meat cooking on an induction stovetop in the nearby kitchen. The couch frame creaked as Zane Flynt leaned back, his feet, snug in a pair of hiking sandals, coming to rest on top of the coffee table. He blew smoke from his cigar towards the ceiling fan making a slow rotation high above him, ashing into an empty beer can sitting between his legs.

“It’s what I said, innit? Thinking this old dog has reached the end of his tether. I’ll still be on with the lot of you. Just to the lesser extent.”

Sitting in one of the armchairs, Athena had turned away from reading the closed captions on the holo screen to stare Zane down. Her features were drawn and rigid, her gaze unwavering. Zane, who made brief eye contact, looked away and sighed.

“Anywho, wasn’t going to do it till after the holidays,” he added. “Give you all some time to find the next chef with the right amount of bollocks.”

From his place on the other end of the couch, Rhys turned to Zane. The space in the center of the couch was occupied by Wilhelm’s girth, so he had to lean forward to situate the other man in his line of sight.

“What?” Unable to help himself, the latter half of the word came out in a squawk. He cleared his throat. “When were you planning to tell us?”

“I’m telling you now. That night we do final holiday seating before we close for sabbatical, that will be my last huzzah.”

Troy Calypso, who’d been slouched down in one of the recliners, sneakered feet dangling over the edge of the raised footrest, looked up from the portable game device he was thumbing.

“What, you got wanderlust, old man? We should celebrate.”

“I’m not leaving yet, Calypso.”

Troy hummed, his articulated cybernetic making a dismissive gesture. The cybernetic arm was new, upgraded with the salary that had been bolstered with a promotion to line cook. Rhys had hooked him up with a prosthetic specialist and Troy had managed form there. For a man who’d relied on rudimentary prosthetics or nothing entirely most of his life, he’d adapted quickly.

“Good, cause I’m not taking up your mantle.”

“As if ye even could.”

“Guys,” Rhys’ tone dipped sharply, cutting between their banter. “Zane, let’s discuss this in private next time we get a chance.”

“We can talk about it now, since you lot are here and the floor’s quiet.”

“No, we’re here to relax and enjoy a meal as family. I’m not letting that get char-broiled to hell without a fight.”

“Sounding more like Jack everyday, boyo.”

Wilhelm grunted. It was the only sound he made, unclear if it was an agreement or just him growing annoyed by the bickering.

“Well….” Rhys began, his smile tight. “Speaking of, I should go check on what he’s doing to that poor prime rib.”

As Rhys stood up from the couch, Athena asked, “When was the wedding again?”

It took some time for Rhys to answer. He seemed to be assessing if Athena was being serious or not. Then he remembered that she didn’t seem to have any type of sense of humor.

“We haven’t even set a date with Pandora’s justice of the peace yet. It’s on the agenda. Soon as I figure out the new tasting menu and get Jack’s approval for a few things.”

“You should hurry figuring it out then.”

“Trying, chef. You know Jack.”

“Yes. I know him well.”

There was a sharp creak as Troy spilled over the side of the recliner. He came to stand next to the couch, snatching Zane’s cigar away in nimble robotic fingers.

“Me and Flynt, we’re getting hitched, too.”

The cigar sizzled as he drew on it, the lit end blazing vibrant for a few elongated seconds. He held in the smoke, straddled Zane’s lap and threw himself at the man. As he met Zane’s lips, the pushed him off, sputtering.

“The feck we are, boyo.”

But Troy opened his mouth then, and Zane’s protest died on his tongue. Instead, he succumbed to that sweet smoke between them, inhaling. The two fumbled into another kiss that was too forceful and noisy to be the simple act of shotgunning.

Rhys’ jaw worked and Athena scowled.

Shoving Troy’s elbow from his ribcage, Wilhelm said, “Knock it off.”

As if in response, Zane’s arm came around Troy’s waist, fingers slipping beneath the loose waistband of the man’s cargo pants. Troy’s growl was muffled.

“Okay, I’m going to go check on Jack now,” Rhys said, trying not to gape at the pair.

“Got to make a phone call,” Athena deadpanned.

Rolling his eyes, Wilhelm scooted over on the couch to the space Rhys had previously occupied. He found the TV remote and hit the button to unmute it.

“How’re the kids getting along?” Jack didn’t look up from where he was turning rib steaks over on the induction cooktop as Rhys entered the kitchen. “My brother show up yet?”

“Zane and Troy are about to bone on your couch right there out in the open in front of everyone.” Rhys opened the fridge, grabbed two crisp, cold bottles of IPA and held one out in offering. Jack shook his head in declination. “Tim’s a no-show so far.”

“Tell Flynt and Calypso they better clean up their mess when they’re done. Tim’ll show up eventually.”

“You sure? He said he’d be here over an hour ago.”

“I’m sure. Wilhelm’s here.”

Rhys sprung the top from the beer bottle using only his robotic grip and swigged. “Good point.” The label on the drink was considered and set down. He came up behind Jack, planting a soft kiss on to the man’s cheek. “Sorry. I forget you stopped drinking. I shouldn’t be doing it around you.”

“S’kay, Rhysie. You having a drink ain’t going to put me on a bender.”

“Still.”

His arms circling the other man, Rhys pressed himself against Jack’s back and leaned his chin into his shoulder. Over the last few months, while he followed a strict plan of abstinence, Jack had bulked up, parts of him yielding less to prodding now. In the middle, though, he had softened, likely due to his metabolism returning to a natural state. Once, Jack had mentioned offhand that he’d gained something like over fifty pounds in the last two years of not being on the good shit. Rhys was fond of the change.

“Am I interrupting something?” came a new voice. It was identical to Jack’s.

Rhys let go of his fiancée and turned around. Abandoning his steaks for a moment, Jack followed suit, nodding a greeting to his brother.

“I was just about to stuff my boyfriend full of meat,” he told Tim, keeping a straight face. “Feel free to wait in the living room until I’m done.”

1. What part of the writing process is the most enjoyable?

My favorite part is not actually part of writing it at all, but all of the preparation that goes into it. My brother, who I know you know this but I'm going to post it for everyone so I'm going to explain, is a youtuber (if you like my posts, you might want to check him out, we have extremely similar senses of humor and 80% of the content on either of our page is just jokes we stole from each other) and we both have this process where we have a note on our phone with what he calls surgery jokes, because you can just kind of sew them into whatever you're working on. I have a whole note of jokes, turns of phrase, sentence fragments - anything I like that I think would work in a story someday, and so that's my favorite part. Listening to the people around me (you know my family, they're fucking freaks and always saying something absolutely hysterical and I'm always writing it down for future use, usually to be said by Kay) and thinking and just coming up with things like that. I love doing that.

4. Which comment has had the most impact on your writing?

Well, if we're going with purely fan comments, one of the comments on ao3 that I have marked as unread so I can easily return to it is

"As much as I am the biggest probablygayattorneys Ema fan and I am so glad for her return, the part that struck me the most was Apollo's introspection (they always seem to get me) about him changing through this experience and his fears of other stagnating and him moving away from them. //It's very relatable to me as an immigrant, seeing that the friends I left behind in my country will never change as much as me.// And also, I am so mad that it's true in the games. That was on your lover in the foyer doesn't even know you (usually shortened to just YLITFDEKY), my reality show/fake dating Klapollo AU that I wrote the back half of during the absolute lowest my mental health has ever been. I was in so much pain, and spending most of my time alone in a cold, windowless basement hoping for the Idaho winter to kill me, but still, I kept writing. The fact that Zieg not just picked up on my deeper themes but also said such kind words about me characters in general was definitely a light when all others went out.

But I also have to give a shout out to my amazing proofreader, who always gives me feedback that makes my stories better and also I have on good authority is planning on, sooner or later, giving me a ring, too. 😘

7. What do you love most about being a fic writer for your fandom?

I actually don't really engage in fandom that much, since I am a content creator and I don't want to accidentally steal someone else's ideas, but in comparison to the other fandoms I've written fics for, my Ace Attorney fanfics get a lot more love and supportive comments than other ones, and I really appreciate that!
