Summary:

Six days after Sha Hualing’s attack on Cang Qiong, Ming Fan bursts into Luo Binghe’s woodshed and wakes him with a well-placed kick to his backside.

“Get up,” he barks, as Luo Binghe opens his eyes. “Shizun told me to bring you to the bamboo house.”

Luo Binghe does not reply. Before he defeated Tian Chui, he would have greeted Ming Fan with a bow and bid him good morning, regardless of how poorly his shixiong had greeted him; but now, Binghe has more than proven himself as a worthy disciple of Qing Jing, and all of Cang Qiong recognizes it save for his shizun and shixiongdi.

Or: in a world where Shen Jiu survives his qi deviation no worse for wear, Luo Binghe battles Elder Tian Chui without the support of his Shizun.

His future wife ends up poisoned on his behalf, all the same.
