A guy gets isekae'd to a fantasy world and it's completely disconnected from our own world, like no shared history.
Except.
Words keep popping up. Someone mentions a "French braid", and he's like "a what braid? Where did you hear about France?" and no one seems to know the etymology. He gets in some minor trouble for assaulting a bard who can't explain where he heard Old Town Road.
The local Duke shows off his new portrait and it's somehow AI generated? And still painted?
He's going slowly mad trying to figure out why there's our-world references leaking into this fantasy world. Is there someone else who is isekai'd here? Is there a portal between here and earth? A wizard who can travel back and forth? What the fuck is going on?
He falls to his knees sobbing in the street when he sees a poster for a play being put on in the Capitol city. It's called "War of the Stars" and it's about Lucas the Sky Walker who is given a holy sword to fight the Black Knight who never removes his armor, and he rescues a beautiful princess from a hidden fortress with the assistance of a wizard mentor, a traveling merchant, and his werewolf companion.

somethin’ sweet before i go ˚ ♡ ⋆。 vi + fem!reader
synopsis : when your arrest turns out to be an attractive, arrogant zaunite who’s, obviously, had a bad night, there’s one thing she asks for before being turned in. c’mon, can’t you give her something sweet before handing her to a cold cell?
—TW : kinda hate fucking , fingering , dom!vi , afab , post jinx attack
Tumblr media
“hey, princess, any chance you’re sweet enough to loosen these up a bit?” your pinkette prisoner grunts, rolling a kink out her neck.
your expression is nothing short of unimpressed for the taunting games your newest problem has come up with. glaring up from your paperwork, you bit the inside of your cheek in frustration, “quit with the pet names—do you find your situation funny?” you turn around to face the arrogant zaunite, cuffed hands extended behind her back. you found it rather annoying how nonchalant she was—or worst, she found this amusing. “you are being detained for assault,” you continue, “that’s a night in jail, ‘sweet stuff.’” mocking her previous taunt.
she just scoffed, but it was far from being insulted. a sly smirk and dangerous blue eyes peaking beneath cherry strands looked up at you.
“ya’ think i’m sweet, princess?”
you hear the familiar clanking of metal rubbing against each other, bringing attention to her restraints.
“undo the cuffs and i’ll treat you sweet all nigh-“ her prurient statement cut off by the force of your forearm knocking into her chest, subsequently shoving her against the wall.
“you forget yourself, trencher,” your arm jabs in the smug, although rather charming (and quite attractive), outlaw’s chest, and her eye twitches in a wince. “you’re in my territory now—it’d suit you well to not make a fool of me; i’m sure you’ve been taught the same in that… mess of a city across the bridge.”
your tongue held venom as you almost seemingly spat out the insult like it was truly sickening to speak of. there’s an unspoken challenge being held between the both of your glares. you tack on a huff from your flared nostrils to seal the conversation and to warn the zaunite in front of you from talking back.
but as the tense silence subsides, the cherry-haired woman draws out a teasing smirk, scoffing again, “ever been to the undercity, sweet-cheeks?”
her question seemed more rhetorical than anything. you didn’t answer, clenching your jaw, keeping your eyes fixated on hers as to not give a look of submission. she took your quietness as a ‘no’ and raised a brow,
“thought so.”
she leaned her head in closer, as close as your arm would allow—although, there wasn’t much distance to set you apart anyways. her eyes lidded now as your confidence wavered from the almost predatory air hung around her; like when a lion, hidden in the tall grass, gets a perfect angle of their prey.
“they’d eat that pretty, little ass up as soon as you stepped foot beyond that bridge.”
you gasped, quietly, eyes widened at her obscene words. you could already feel your body betraying you, blood involuntarily heating up the plump of your cheeks.
the arm held sturdy against your prisoner was now weak, a second thought; not to her, no, that was accordingly.
calloused hands snaked their way to your waist, armored with enforcer gold, a symbol of integrity to wear, resolute.
your eyes flicked to the (god, she is attractive) woman near inches away; you were trapped in a lion’s den, she was already staring back at you.
“how di—when did you…”
so much for standing your ground—your stuttering voice gave it all away.
“what? get those things off?” she chuckled, motioning back behind her, “you were right ‘bout one thing, princess: i learned a whole deal in that ‘mess of a city’.”
she near whispered your quote, not hushed, but emphasized, troublingly so. her hands wandered, dangerously, coming to settle at the plush of your hips, hips that had you bent atop her. a deft thumb pushed pass your attire and gently circled into your bare skin.
“are you… are you gonna hurt me?” you pressed your lips in a fine line, apprehensively awaiting a dreaded answer.
but to your surprise, she paused, then snorted, and in a quick motion, she manhandled you to sit on her lap. you yelped in shock, your hands were rigid against her chest that you were so very close to now; stiff as a board as you feared for the worst.
“can’t a girl want somethin’ sweet before you send me to a cold, hard cell, huh?” now the finger in charge of exploring your supple skin came to swipe at your plush bottom lip. “but if you want it to hurt i can make that happen too.” her voice was sultry, thick with an insatiable desire.
your proximity gave you a chance to see the small initial tattooed on her cheek, “vi.” you spoke out loud, really only for you to memorize.
vi smirked, “yeah, princess? don’t wear it out just yet.”
your brows furrowed, pursing your lips; you tried to move, but vi had a firm hold on your hips that just wouldn’t let up (not that you even tried that hard). “piltover station will be here soon… we can’t—i can’t be seen like this; this is unprofessional.”
“when’d you make that call?” honestly, vi was barely listening to your reluctance and excuses, busying herself with unfastening your gold belt that you hardly even noticed.
“an hour ago.”
“then we have an hour to ourselves. c’mon, do you really think ‘proper piltover station’ is any more worried about a call for an undercity scum than the rest of the hundred they receive a day? they’re preoccupied with the councilors after that attack… seems to me like they left you out the loop, hot stuff.”
you took offense to her insulting jab at your importance, disregarding her sing-song mockery of addressing piltover station. you reached for her wrist that was unbuttoning the blue fabric of your enforcer two-split skirt, “what is that supposed to mean?”
she took no notice to your grip and pushed aside the outer garment, glancing back up at you through that addictive, crimson hair. she gave a dry smirk, “didn’t mean to rile you up, princess—just meant that i could treat you better than them.”
that betraying flush tickled your cheeks once again, and you, rather hesitantly, let way of your grasp, allowing her to do what she needs.
she snorted, in an amused manner, tapping your thigh, “sit up.” how shameful it was for you, an enforcer, to take commands from anyone else—let alone an… undersider. yet, here you were, standing upright as she told you to, albeit a little more eager than intended; you hoped she hadn’t noticed.
she noticed.
her legs spread out on the chair, making her appear even larger than her stature gave her credit for. she bent over, resting her elbows on her thighs as she pulled at the hem of your khaki shorts. you assisted and looped two thumbs at the waistband to shimmy down your legs. your shorts pooled at your feet and vi leaned back to admire the sexy sight she had in front of her with a grin on her face.
a pretty enforcer, nervous as can be, with a half-undone uniform and pink, lace panties exposed just for her. what a contrasting view. you were captivating. already trained to take orders like a puppy, she’d think in her crude mind; you’d be her good girl for a while, you’d be so good for her.
with two fingers, she motioned for you to come sit back down on her lap; the way her legs manspread was inviting enough. you obliged, holding onto her broad shoulders.
those engrossing fingers came back to handle your hips, slowly moving to cup the mound of your ass and kneading. you huffed, painted nails digging into her trapezius.
“ya’ like pink, princess?” she mentioned your cute, lacey panties; although, now stained a darker shade.
your eyes flickered up to her hair before timidly searching anywhere else to keep your focus busy. vi found that cute, not admitting that that turned her on way more than it should.
“i don’t disdain it.” you purse your lips, “and quit calling me that.”
vi chuckled, “but you’re poised, like a princess.”
“you have no idea of me.”
“well, i know you’re risking your title just so i can get you off,” fingers go to trace the hem of your panties, her middle drags along your clit muffled by the fabric. she grins, “and by the looks of it, you’re enjoying the thrill.”
you gasp at the sensation, a feeling your pussy was aching for. “is it because you know we might get caught? geez, princess, you into that kind of thing?” she almost laughs at you, but not to mock you; she finds that hot as fuck.
adept hands push the annoying polyester to the side. fingers, rather spider-like, creep over your throbbing cunt; middle and index gather your pooling slick to act as lube as she glides over your clit.
you bite your lip to suppress a moan. you find your legs begin to tremble, being forced open by her own, keeping you spread for her to do as she likes.
“i didn’t know topsiders could be so dirty.” this time she does laugh. she rubs at your clit long enough for your heart rate to pick up, long enough for your head to find stability on her shoulder, long enough for you to become a mess in her hands… but, not long enough for you to get off just yet.
vi reaches down to your neglected hole, pressing her index atop it, deep enough for an audible squelch to echo through your office, which in turn makes vi groan. you mewl, nails digging deeper into the muscle of her back.
“not so poised now, though.” she mutters, mostly to herself. with your dripping slick, it takes nothing more than a swift movement for vi to slide her index inside you, bottoming out knuckles deep. you keen, arching off her chest. the scratch from her bandages only added fuel to the fire.
“fuck.” vi’s grip on your hip strengthens, almost certainly leaving a prominent bruise later. “do that for me again, princess.”
and she didn’t have to ask because as she pulls her finger almost fully out, tantalizingly slow, she greedily shoves it right back in, curling the tip of it to hit in that, god, that perfect spot you know so well.
and, again, you keen, long and guttural—like a silent scream. subconsciously, your pelvis bucks into her hand, searching for more than you could even take.
after a few minutes of this, vi deems herself your voice and determines you’re ready for two. she pulls out entirely, much to your dismay, teasing you with a pause.
you brace yourself for something that never comes, and you huff, slightly pushing yourself up off her shoulder,
“vi… don’t st—“
and she stuffs her middle and index into your pretty, impatient pussy.
“ah!”
“who said i was stopping, pumpkin? we just started.” you slam your head back to its assigned spot.
vi thought she was right in this moment: you looked a complete and utter mess. it was one thing to fuck a pretty girl, it was another thing that she had a topsider, an officer—someone who, to piltover, was a woman of dignity and honor… a rich, privileged somebody who hated zaunites, found them filthy and worthless…hunched over her shoulder with a sopping cunt you were practically begging her to abuse. now that’s ironic. (and was you coming undone for her maybe a little bit of a victory for her hatred of topside, that she was degrading—fucking someone so noble?)
“shit, baby,” vi cursed, biting her lip. her whole train of thought did nothing but make her more horny, and she pumped extra hard this time, making sure even the graze of her knuckle filled you up.
“when’s the last time someone’s fucked you like this?” she chuckled—you hated her smug little laugh.
you sneered, just not before you moaned into the crook of her neck, breath fanning over her black-inked tattoos. “that’s, fuck, none of your concern, underside.” you spat, but, really, your words held no weight, not like this.
“hey, no need for the name calling, princess; if you’re a virgin too that’s totally fine—honestly kinda hot.” she teased, grabbing the mound of your ass to raise you up and slam back down on her fingers. you cried, your hands instinctively reaching up to tangle in that (rememberable) cherry hair.
“i’m not!—i’ve had—ugh! i’ve done this plenty of times… not that, ah, you should need to know.”
“oh yeah? you fuck a lot of your inmates then?… or is that just my privilege?” vi leaned into your ear, knowing that’d get you going. and what do you know? it did.
and you would’ve argued back, head picked up and everything, had she not curled her fingers the way she did or twist to find an ever better playing field or, god! even the lechery in her voice had you toppling over, had you right there! yes, fuck, right there!
“fuck, vi, right there! keep going! yeah, right there, ugh!” you moaned, legs shaking, trying desperately to close and hide away from how fucking good this felt.
you bucked into her hand and you didn’t have to tell vi twice because she was already pumping extra hard and faster than before, with a combination of her thumb rubbing circles into your swollen clit.
“shit, princess. almost there?” she already knew the answer. she was groaning as if she was fucking herself; just the pure sight of you, of this, was enough… although, she’d need to engrave this memory into her brain and use it later to get off herself (she could use this picture of you to get off for years it felt like).
“vi!”
you sang like gospel, pulling her hair like you’d fall if you hadn’t. you came hard, right on her bandaged fingers and she road you through it until the only thing you could hear in the room was the lewd, wet noises coming from your hole.
she stuffed you full of your own juices and at that point, you couldn’t tell if that or her hands were more filling.
you were both panting, one more than the other. vi hoisted your left leg over hers to hold you bridal style as you settled down. bringing her hand to the light, she pulled apart her middle and index to watch your slick web between them and she weakly laughed.
blue eyes looked over to the gold, industrial clock you had sitting on your work-desk, reading a quarter til’ 12. she sighed, picking you up with her before setting you on the chair you had originally handcuffed her to.
“looks like i gotta go, princess.” she feigned innocent, as if this whole interaction was a drive by. one by one she picked up discarded clothing and crouched at your legs to dress you back up. you, too tired to protest to being treated like a child, let her dress you like a doll, even buckling up your belt.
you watched as she went to write something on a piece of sticky note paper you had sitting by your confidential files before turning to walk out the door, running a hand through her hair.
“you can’t leave—you’re… you’re under arrest.” there was no confidence in your tone, just a fucked out raspy voice.
vi stopped before leaving, hands in her pockets, “tell ‘em officer kiramann already came to pick me up, they won’t give you trouble.” she threw the hood of her red jacket over her head, reaching for the doorknob.
“oh, and… meet me at my place if you wanna do this again… okay, princess?”

Note: Since my old masterlist is getting notes again (and I'm hosting @tbb-appreciation-week this year), I thought it's a good time to release a new version with a lot more resources. If any of you know another site or thing that it's missing from the list, let me know and I'll include it!! [Altho, I'm getting this close 🤏 to the hyperlinks limit on this thing 😆]
Note 2: To avoid tagging the 3 people from whom I got multiple resources repeatedly, I've placed 1-3 asterisks between square brackets after the links, depending on the OP. I give the respective credit to them in a legend at the end of the post.

WRITING IN GENERAL (For those who don't want to die like Stormtroopers)
SlickWrite: Completely free; online. Checks grammar, punctuation, flow, and writing style according to different settings (including fiction writing).
ProWritingAid: [RECOMMENDED] One of the most thorough online proofreader I've ever used. Although when using a free account gives extremely thorough feedback, with +20 different in-depth reports, for only the first 500 words. However, you can earn a premium account license (for a year or for life) if you get 10 or 20 new users signing up for free; (if you wouldn't mind doing so using the link above and help me earn mine, please). The settings allow you to check your writing according to your needs, from general to formal to creative. It has a bonus that you can check depending on the genre you're writing. For example, in creative, you can choose romance or sci-fiction (there are 14 sub-genre in total). And just like google docs, you can share a document, and people can view, comment or edit it too.
LanguageTool: [RECOMMENDED] Another excellent proofreader. It also has a word limit in free accounts, but if you use the add-on for Google Docs, it counts each page as a new document, so hitting the word limit is nearly impossible. It helps you to rewrite a sentence (3 a day), even if it doesn't raise any flags; it's very useful for when your sentence is grammatically correct, but it doesn't feel quite right.
Grammarly, Hemingway Editor: No so great, but they do the basic job.

Halour, I'm kinda curious... What crimes have Cale done, exactly? I see a number of "crime list" videos about him but the wiki don't really confirm anything💀
— 🌄
...The Time Has Come. 😌
I have long promised this list, so perfect timing! Thank you very much for this question! Allow me to introduce you to:
Cale Henituse's Crime List
(Just for the fun of it, I tried to give a different example for every single one of these. Some events repeat, but not the crimes!)
1) Accessibility of Records for Tax Department
Cale looted significant amounts of money from the Magic Tower and many other places, without leaving any legal trace.
2) Affray
Multiple occasions, like pretty much everything that happened in the Molden Kingdom.
3) Aggravated Assault
Cale rarely gets physically involved in a fight, but I think suddenly strangling Prince Adin qualifies.
4) Aggravated Burglary
Every single time "Real Arm" is in business.
5) Allowing Dog or Cat To Be a Nuisance
How else would you call encouraging your animal shape-shifting kids to be involved in criminal activity? Also Fluffy the Puppy was under Cale's command even if he technically belonged to Princess Jopis, I say it totally counts.
6) Ammunition – Possessing, Acquiring or Carrying
Cale intentionally pocketed magic bombs from the Plaza Terror Incident and used them later on.
7) Animal Cruelty
...Does Cale subjecting On to his "nice act" in front of Litana counts? Oh it definitely counts. That poor child.
8) Armed Robbery
That time Cale & co. robbed the Mercenary Guilds in Leeb-An City, for instance.
9) Arson
Setting the Wind Island on fire.
10) Assaulting or Resisting Police
That time Cale & co. went to Sez Kingdom. Pretty sure the knights trying to stop them from kidnapping the king counts as "resisting law enforcement".
11) Being Disguised With Unlawful Intent
Priest Cale in a nutshell.
12) Blackmail
That time Cale talked to Antonio Gyerre.
13) Breaking and Entering
Cale coming to the Sekka Estate.
14) Careless Driving
Debatable since a fantasy world doesn't own cars – but. I count Cale breaking through walls of a maze on a mother-effing Stone Imugi as "irresponsible driving". Just think of what kind of example you're setting for the kids, Cale!
15) Carrying a Loaded Firearm in Public
Cale has Raon following him everywhere, so.....?
16) Carrying Out Plumbing Work Without License or Registration
Cale has an underground villa in the Forest of Darkness. I'm pretty sure whatever construction work they did there would count as illegal.
17) Carrying Out Work Without a Building Permit
Cale had Dragons teleport an entire castle into the Forest of Darkness. Yet again, involves a building with no legal paperwork.
18) Causing Injury Intentionally
Obviously. Like making fiery lightning bolt strike in the middle of an Elf Village attack. Or hitting a radish with a rock.
19) Collecting or Making Documents Likely to Facilitate Terrorist Acts
Everything involving Knight Rex after he became a terrorist.
20) Conspiracy
Cale and Alberu talking about anything.
21) Control of Body Armor
After reading it up, I decided that mana disruption device ABSOLUTELY falls into this category.
22) Control and Use of Dangerous Articles
Cale adopting pretty much everyone on his team.
23) Corrupting Benefits Received By Commonwealth Public Official
Cale using Alberu's golden plaque to trap the White Star with Embrace. I mean, if being infected with that clown doesn't count as corruption, I don't know what does.
24) Cultivation of Narcotic Plants
Cale letting Hong eat plants in the Forest of Darkness. It IS, in his own words, his own backyard.
25) Dangerous Non-Guard Dog Attacks or Bites a Person or Animal with Person in Control
Cale letting Choi Han beat up Adin. ...Well, Choi Han COULD be counted as a Guard Dog, but. They never formalized the paperwork? I say it counts since Choi Han isn't legally registered!
26) Dealing With Property Suspected of Being Proceeds of Crime
Cale renting a house from Odeus Flynn.
27) Dealing With Property Which Subsequently Becomes an Instrument of Crime
Cale buying the Magic Tower before he proceeds to kidnap Mueller.
28) Delaying the Entry of Police
Cale not letting the law enforcement know about the Plaza Terror Incident beforehand. Also, activating the mana disruption device, knowing it would hinder their efforts to stop terrorism. ...Yes Cale & co. prevented said terrorism better on their own but it still counts.
29) Deliberately Omitting Information
Cale making an Vow of Death to Choi Han claiming that he can't tell him anything.
30) Destroying, Damaging and/or Interfering with Any Works of a Water Corporation
Setting the Lake of God's Tears on fire.
31) Destroying or Damaging Property
Cale destroying houses in the Gyerre territory.
32) Destruction of Evidence
Cale and Raon blowing up Hais Island 5 to cover up Ron's infiltration.
33) Directing the Activities of a Terrorist Organization
Cale's entire career in a nutshell, really.
34) Discharge Missile to Endanger Person or Property
Cale blowing up the whirlpools in the Ubarr territory.
35) Dishonestly Cause a Loss
Cale tricking the White Star into the abandoned underground city.
36) Disturbing Religious Worship
Cale messing with the Sun God's Church for being mean to Mary.
37) Driving an Unregistered Vehicle
Cale & co. using Mary's bone Dragon.
38) Drunkards Behaving in Riotous or Disorderly Manner
Cale pretending to be drunk in the Gyerre territory.
39) Endangering Safety of Aircraft
Cale letting his allies abroad an airship during the Jungle battle.
40) Entering a Place Without Authority or Lawful Excuse
Cale rescuing Raon.
41) Extortion With Threats to Destroy Property
Cale threatening the slave traffickers in the Gyerre territory.
42) Failure to Notify the Authorities of Criminal Activity
Cale doesn't notify Alberu of crap, unless it's to make him clean-up the aftermath.
43) Failure to Register a Pet
Pretty sure Cale registered exactly none of his allies. ...Except maybe the Tiger Tribe that one time they moved into Harris Village with Deruth's permission. Everyone else? Not a chance.
44) Falsifying or Concealing Identity
Cale acting as Naru von Ejellan in Endable Kingdom.
45) Forgery of Documents
Cale and Taylor faking an ancient document to fool the White Star.
46) Fraud
Cale promising Plavin Singten benefits for siding with the new Sun Church.
47) Getting Funds To, From, or For a Terrorist Organization
Cale sponsoring his allies, like giving Rosalyn magic stones.
48) Going Equipped for Stealing
Cale making Real Arm uniform.
49) Handling Stolen Goods
Cale using Divine Items.
50) Identity Theft
Cale introducing himself as Bob.
51) Indecent Assault
Cale telling Choi Han to strip that one time. (Yes, it actually happened. ...Not the way shippers wished for, obviously.)
52) Inducement to Be Appointed Liquidator
Cale helping Princess Jopis overthrow her sister on the condition of benefits for the Roan Kingdom.
53) Insider Trading

Yandere! Miguel O' Hara x Fem! Spider! Reader
T/W: yandere (slow-burn(?)), dark fic, violence, assault, spoilers for across the spiderverse.
Status: rewritten.
Next Chapter
Word Count: 2,4k
Tumblr media
"Y/N! Get. Back. Here. NOW", swinging away from an infuriated Miguel O'Hara wasn't something you had planned or ever thought would occur, never entertained the thought of it. At least not until now, as you desperately attempted to get away from him and somehow escape him- for your dimension-travel watch (as wild as the concept of it sounded) had been snatched by the same man that was madly hunting you down.
How did it even all come to this? Let's rewind, back to the beginning.
Part I
Tumblr media
After being bitten by a radioactive spider in a school trip to Alchemax at the young age of 15, you obtained enhanced spider-like abilities: a sixth sense for perceiving danger, incredible reflexes, amazing parkour skills, extraordinary strentgh and flexibility.
And for the past ten years, you have been New York's one and only Spider-Woman.
Learning to use your powers was a whole trip on itself. They awakened rather clumsily -nothing a leap of faith could not fix- as you began to grasp the ropes of being a masked hero in your teenage years [it's safe to say that your teenage years were truly a heck of a rollercoaster].
Handling a double-life was not easy, that is something you have learned with your ten years experience. You saved a bunch of people and thus many lives, you won many times and saved the city countless more. Yet you also earned a bunch of dangerous criminals and villains tailing behind your back that would want to kill you without hesitation and harm you in any way possible.
In spite of the times you were beaten down, left made a mess in the ground, or at the brink of death- you would always get back up because you were Spider-Woman.
Sometimes, getting back up was hard.
The weight of the sake of the city was on your shoulders. And sometimes, that weight crushed you. When you lost your parents it was devastating, because not only had you failed as a hero, but as a daughter.
[Your dad perished in an attempt to save you from an attack of one of many enemies- the Green Goblin . You two happened to be on a ‘father and daughter’ outing in a nice dinner when the Green Goblin tried to draw out Spider-Woman from her hiding place in Brooklyn (unbeknownst of your true identity and much to your own misery and guilt.) After battling the Green Goblin and imprisoning him, you rose with your dead father in your arms, and an huge crack in your heart that would leave a deep scar.
Months later, your mother's followed suit. That day was chaotic, panic filled the streets of New York as The Rhino, a veteran soldier with super human strentgh and a high-techno advanced armor resembling a rhinoceros, laid waste to the city. You were evacuating all civilians nearby, swinging across and into buildings, picking up and scooping anyone you could encounter and putting them out of danger.
It happened as you held falling debris with your arms. You picked up wailing in between the many cries of people, and your spider-sense guided your eyes up from the ground.
A child, no older than five, was crying. He was glued to the floor, too overwhelmed by the calamity surrounding him. A wall from a building was falling on him and your heart beat raced. You still had people below you that were crawling out and the child was a or two block away. Your thoughts raced in your head, you had to save everyone, down to the last live.
"Come on, come on, come on" you muttered in between gritted teeth as you gathered power and lifted the debris into the air. With the help of your web shooter, you pulled all the remaining civilians out and casted aside the courtesy of double-checking as you swinged toward the child.
You could see how the wall fell over him, and you reached out your arm with your forearm out desperately, attempted to pull him out with your web but the wall was already about to touch his head and-
She pushed the child out of the danger, motherly instincts impulsing her feet at the cost of her own life. The child was pushed onto you and you brought him flush against you with your web, arms encasing him as you witnessed the wall collapse on her.
In shock and disbelief, you gently lowered the child to the ground and ran to the fallen wall. Once again in despair, you clawed through the debris and searched for your mother’s body.
You found her bruised and crushed, her face deformed. You brushed the dust off it. Her pained groan was faint, and you begged her right there and then not to leave you. Not to leave you alone, again.
“Is the kid al…?”
“Yes! Don’t, don’t talk. Help, help is coming. You have to stay, you have to.” But her eyes were already fading, and her limbs growing weak. Your disguised hand snatched up hers and you cried,
“Mom!”
She recognized your voice, the one she cherished the most. Her fading eyes gathered all the warmth they could muster and she reached out a quivering hand to your cheek. Her fingers slid into your mask, and she felt your tear stained skin.
“Ah my baby…[Y/n]…I’m so proud... Your father would be so proud... keep it up”. Her last words were voiced with strain, but you would always remember them.]
They became the fuel for your mission, and no matter how many times you were beaten to the ground and wounded to no end, you stood back up. You would save everyone else, no more deaths, you swore upon your parents' last moments.
Now in your adult life, you found yourself in a stable life besides the implications your side hustle not-so-side -hustle brought. You had an adequate job as a writer for small titles in a decent newspaper, and you had a department you shared with your childhood best friend, Peter Parker [who eventually became your tech-desk guy. Hiding your true identity from your best friend and roommate would have never lasted long anyway. You remember clearly the day you climbed into the living's window, beat up, bruised and tired, when the lights suddenly turned on and a Peter with crossed arms and an eyebrow raised was waiting for you like a parent whose child was past curfew. You were without your mask on. Nonetheless, after stuttering uncontrollably and failing to explain and just simply breaking down in front of him. Without saying any words, he took out the first aid kit and reassured you with a smile. You were so grateful to him.]
So now here you were, crouching on the top of The Clock Tower, the moonlight casting its light on your back and darkening your silhouette. Earlier in the day you dealt with some thugs and minor crimes, but since the sun fell nothing happened. That was odd, NYC was never quite, least of all times at night.
But your spider-sense was running, not rampant, but definetely there like annoying itch on the nape. Something had to be off, you knew it.
"Um, I'm not picking up anything, (Y/n). Maybe you should be calling it a night, you've been doing good work so far. You did lower the crime rate, after all."
"You sure Pete? There's this feeling in my gut and-"
"Your 'spidey- thingy' ?".
"Spider-sense, spidey-thingy sounds dumb" you answered with a small groan, rolling your eyes although he could not see the.
He chuckled, "Yeah, yeah, whatever," he turned serious " but I'm not getting anything from anywhere. From police radios and stations to our own hidden cameras"
"Nothing? Sure?"
"I mean everything is awfully quiet now that I think about it... All I can pick up is glitching, let's see... let me do my thing and-" you could hear frantic typing through the comms of your suit within the mask, you could even picture Peter hunching and fixing his eyeglasses.
What he said left you pondering. Glitching? It couldn't be a coincidence that all the radio signals he could pick up were glitching.
"Aha! Here it is, your spidey-thingy was right." this time, you chuckled as if saying 'see?'. He continued, "-this should be a very hidden signal from the special forces team. Seems classified, man they should really put a little more money into whatever software they use to protect their privacy" and he pushed on one final 'enter', the glitching and static got louder almost startling you to which your friend apologized softly, but it evened out.
"Report the situation, Lieutenant Stacy"
"Requesting back-up right now, suspect is armed with advanced equipment, we are at the Port, South East, many of my men and women have been wounded and- oh, shit, shit" The man's words died down with the sound of something big crashing and breaking.
Well, that's your cue. You stood up on your toes and balanced you body weight forward, diving to the ground. With your limbs extended, you stretched your forearm and extended your wrist, web shooting out from the slick web shooter Peter designed.
Swinging from building to building under the night sky, you jumped across billboards and slid past tight spaces as you were heading to the location of the conflict, and the closer you swinged, the wilder your spider sense got.
When you arrived at the port, you saw a SWAT truck that was flipped over, it had a huge dent in the form of a what seemed to be a claw mark, and the windows had been broken. There were a few members on the floor, and you noticed there were two trying to lift the heavy vehicle.
"Let me help," you announced your presence and they whipped their heads. Their faces were glistening with sweat and dirt, and you could notice their equipment was damaged. You crouched and lifted the truck, there was one member there below, and his leg was twisted the other way, but he was breathing- well, panting.
Without further a do, the soldiers went and dragged out their friend. A soldier's face lit up, though they seemed hesitant [after all, your line of work was kind of controversial among the government and its forces] but they were thankful. "Thank you, Spider-Woman", their voice was genuine and you smiled below the mask.
"Your welcome, leave it to me" winking at them through your lense, you nodded and propelled yourself to the ceiling of the warehouse. You noticed a roof canopy at the center, lucky you, and brought the palm of your hand to it. Utilizing your sticky finger pads, you carefully removed a pane of glass and entered the building without making a sound.
"Be careful, please" Peter voiced with worry.
You hanged the web from it's strongest point at the peak, and slowly lowered yourself down until your hand gently brushed the cold floor . You got off the web and crawled in direction of the tingling of the spider-sense. You found some warehouse crates, pressed your back onto them, slowly leaning your head out to take a peak.
A man stood there, a middle aged man by the looks of him. He had a round pair of black sunglasses on and a large leather coat on, but the most outstanding feature was apparently behind him. Four metal tentacle-like arms sprouting from his back, with threatening looking claws. That had to be the thing that put such a dent in a SWAT vehicle, the advanced equipment you heard of in the interception.
He was ranting about something, speaking to himself. "The power of the sun at the palm of my hand, only to be ruined by that fucking-"
‘What is this man even talking about…’
His words died down in your ears as it took a few seconds for your spider-sense to peak, and you scrunched your face features. Your eyebrows furrowed and your eyes squinted, cheeks squeezing up and causing the lenses of the mask to stretch and flatten.
"(Y/n)? Found anything yet?" Peter inquired.
"This man... I think I know him... but also not..." At this point, your spider-sense was rampant. Your gaze still confused as you tried to decipher him. Your spider sense was alerting you of this oddly familiar feeling. It was someone you had dealt with before, but also someone new. Simply off-putting.
Then the realization fell on you, his tentacle-like arms.
"Is that Doc Ock!?" Without getting a hold of your reaction, you accidentally raised your voice and revealed your location. Your spider-sense tingled again, this time, sensing imminent danger as you backflipped and dodged the incoming attack. The crate you were hiding behind of was broken into splinters.
"Come on out, Spider-Man!" he shouted, his voice in pure anger.
Spider-Man? As long as you remember, you never referred to your disguised self as Spider-Man...
"It's Spider-Woman, mind you" You revealed yourself off the shadows, and the light basked in your costume, revealing its signature colors and design. "Do I know you by chance?" you tited your head, inquisitive in your tone as you were trying to figure things out.
The man's expression fell, and his rage was replaced by annoyance.
"Is this some kind of sick joke, Spider-Man? Have you forgotten the name of the man whose work of life you ruined, Otto Octavius." His tongue rolled of his name with spite and you widened your eyes.
"Doc Ock? But, you are different. You are totally human". Last time you checked, Doc Ock was a mad scientist that turned himself half-octopus by bioengineering his genetics in the name of some sort of sick evolution idea. He had tried to turn the city into mutants like himself for 'the sake of humanity's future' and you managed to stop his plans. Furthermore, he had been sent to a high-security prison for villains, where an anti-serum is being developed to turn him back and halt his aggression.
"Are you pulling my leg Spider-Man?" He said with disbelief, and he began to appear more and more angry by the second. He muttered something below his breath, and you swore you saw one of his tentacles turn toward his face as if it were sentient and listening...
"I've told you it's Spider-Woman." You huffed out, chest puffing out. You had a bad feeling about this...
The man's hand ran down his own face and he groaned, visibly tired. "Well, whatever, but you do appear to be an ally of Peter Parker's, your costume and your name leave little room for further speculation". The mention of your friend raised up your guard, how did he know Pete? Any doubts and hesitation erased themselves of your mind, for your friend could be in lethal danger.
"Oh? What's the matter, 'Spider-Woman'," he sneered.
"Picked right on the web, hmm?" He edged on, a dangerous smirk dancing on his face and two claws raising up in the air, ready to pounce.
There was not much to it, as you jumped sideways to dodge whatever that clawed-tentacle-armor was. You found yourself right back at the gig, fighting a villain as the one and only Spider-Woman.
Or so you thought.

A/n: Hi! So when I first saw this fictional man I KNEW I had to write about him, originally, it was going to be a long one shot, but I decided to break it into parts. I expect this story to be up to 3 parts or 4 as most. Anyhow, I hope you come to like it!, and sorry for the long- ass intro, I really wanted to dwelve deeper into reader as a spider person. Next is the real thing. I have seen some people have asked me to tag them, so don’t be shy to ask too!

Gotham’s a shithole. You hadn’t known that when you first moved here. To be honest, you’d kind of thrown a dart at a map and gone where it landed. Alright, maybe it wasn’t literally a dart throw, more so finding the cheapest metropolitan city because New York was tempting but it would bankrupt you. Mostly you just wanted a place to not exist. And so Gotham’s relatively low rent rates and towering skylines were the pick with little to no research.
Gotham’s a shithole. You know that beyond a shadow of a doubt now. It’s surprising, honestly, how little of Gotham’s chaos makes it outside the city limits. One would think a psychotic killer clown that’s prone to gassing a whole city district or a half-plant poison lady or a guy going around dressed like a bat would make national news. And yet, no. You’d known superheroes existed, of course. Superman was the shining jewel in the crown of the country that is Metropolis. Everyone knows about the extraordinary Wonder Woman. It’s not like hyper skilled people working for the greater good aren’t a thing. But Gotham plays her cards close to her chest.
You've lived here almost two years now and you’ve managed to make it through relatively unscathed. An impressive feat especially since you live in the Bowery. The Bowery itself isn’t so bad, but its neighboring district Park Row, more often known as Crime Alley, is about the worst Gotham has to offer. You’ve heard your fair share of gunshots and sirens, and you’ll never forget the time that Scarecrow released fear toxin in the district and you had to shove every towel and blanket you owned against the cracks by the doors and windows to keep it out. However, you’ve avoided being mugged or assaulted or anything like that so far. And you’ve never encountered the vigilantes that run the night here.
But there’s always time for new and exciting experiences.
The loud thunk that sounds outside your living room window makes you jump and starts your heart pounding. You know you should just ignore it. Crawl off the couch and to the bedroom, lock the door. The lights in the apartment are already off, only the television light illuminating the room, so it would be easy to creep unseen. But you can’t. Something pulls you to the window. Maybe it’s the cat killing curiosity, or maybe it’s your own little voice of self destruction, or maybe it’s something else entirely. All you know is that you have to go look.
So you do. And there, out cold on the fire escape, is a man. A very large man. A very large man in a red helmet. A very large man in a red helmet with dual pistols holstered to his thighs. Red Hood. Red Hood is passed out face up on your fire escape. Huh.
You’d heard of him. It was hard not to. The Bat had the most notoriety by far, but it was Red Hood that truly scared the criminals of Gotham. Batman might break your bones, cripple you even, but you’d leave with your life. No such guarantee existed if you crossed Red Hood. Hurt a few innocent people and you might end up with a bullet or three in your skull. Then there was that thing about heads in a duffel bag and Red Hood running crime for a solid year in Gotham, but he’s better now, apparently. None of this is deterring you from unlocking the window, pushing it up, and stepping out into the cold winter air. Not when you see the blood seeping through his body armor start to drip off the fire escape grate.
He needs help and he can’t stay unconscious in the middle of the city. If whoever injured him didn’t find him, the cops would. He’s just as wanted as the actual rogues of Gotham. You think it’s bullshit, which is why you’re trying to find a way to get him inside the safety of your apartment. He’s huge up close. This is going to be very, very difficult. Your mind flashes suddenly to one of your favorite childhood movies and how the princess pulled the dashing rogue around with her hair. You glance down at the street before heading to your bedroom.
You come back out with sheets bundled up in your arms. You’re not even sure if this harebrained idea will work, but you weave the sheets through the gaps in the grates and around Red Hood’s waist nonetheless. You secure a knot and go back into your apartment with the length of the sheets. Your legs are stronger than your arms, so you brace them against the wall and pull. You can feel his body slowly dragging towards you and you pause to check your progress. He’s slumped against the window now. Good. You loop your arms under his, place your feet back against the wall, and pull hard. Your hard work is rewarded with his body breaching the threshold of your window and landing directly on top of you. The air is knocked clean out of your lungs. He is heavy.
It’s a struggle but you manage to roll out from under him and immediately see the massive red stain contrasting against the white of your fluffy pajama pants. A small puddle of blood is emerging on your floor under his left thigh, and droplets of blood have splattered next to his torso. He’s not in great shape. It suddenly hits you what you’ve done. You dragged an injured vigilante, known for shooting first and asking questions later, into your apartment with no plan on what to do after the fact.
What the fuck did I do?
That’s all you can think as you look down at him. Then something snaps into place inside your rattled mind and you run to your bathroom to grab your first aid kit. You’d bought it and learned the basics after Wayne Enterprises ran televised infomercials about the importance of first aid a couple months back. You’re carefully balancing all the supplies in your arms as you head back out to the living room.
The empty living room. No vigilante in sight. Then your world spins. Everything clatters to the floor as you’re yanked backwards by your waist, pinned to something solid and unable to move.
“Who are you?” A growl sounds behind you, modulated to sound semi-mechanical.
Ah. There he is. You think you should be panicking, absolutely losing your shit even. But your brain is moving in slow motion.
“Someone trying to help you,” you breathe out.
“Doesn’t answer the question.”
The grip around your waist tightens. You want to laugh. As if you could’ve made a run for it in the first place. You tell him your name, and explain that you live alone. There’s no one else here but the two of you and you really do want to help.
“You were passed out on my fire escape. I couldn’t just leave you out there,” you explain cautiously.
The two of you stay like that for a minute longer. Then, a mechanical sigh sounds from behind you and the vice grip on your waist goes slack. You turn to him and see that he’s already halfway to your window.
“Hey! Wait! I can help!” you shout, scrambling after him.
“Don’t need it,” he snaps.
“You were bleeding out on my floor!” you exclaim.
You don’t know why you feel so strongly about this. Maybe because he seemed so…mortal. It’s easy to forget that these guys running around at night are people. They’re strong, tough, and capable, but they’re still human. The fact that he stumbles and has to catch himself on the window frame proves your point.
“Please. I promise I won’t take long. Please just let me help,” you beg.
He turns around and even through that unreadable helmet you can tell he’s sizing you up. You’re sure you must be a sight in your fuzzy white cat pajama pants, old Snoopy t-shirt, and fluffy white socks. Honestly, it’s a bit of a ridiculous tableau. Massive armed man in tactical gear opposite a woman in fluffy pajamas, both bloodstained. But either you seem harmless enough or he’s in exceptionally bad shape, because he just slumps against your wall and gives a barely noticeable nod of his head.
You go into autopilot the second you get his consent. A dining room chair is dragged to the center of your living room and Red Hood drops himself into it, the old wood creaking under the force. You go to assess the damage on his torso first. Light slashes litter his waist, none of them are deep enough for stitches. You grab the rubbing alcohol and cotton balls from the floor where you kneel before warning him that it might sting.
“I got slashed. Think that might’ve hurt a bit more,” he deadpans.
“Yeah, that’s fair.”
The torso slashes are light work. It takes all of five minutes to disinfect them and seal them shut with bandages. It’s his thigh that you’re a little more concerned about. There’s enough blood that it’s soaked his tactical pants around where you’re guessing the wound is. You can vaguely make out what appears to be cut fabric, so you’re assuming he was stabbed.
“How deep did the knife go?” you ask.
“Hm. ‘Bout two inches?” he offers.
“Why’d you take it out?” you ask incredulously. Anyone with half a brain knew not to take a knife out of a stab wound.
“No idea. Should’ve just gone runnin’ around the city with a knife wedged in my leg.”
The mask’s modulator does nothing to hide the teasing edge to his voice. Of everything you’d heard about Red Hood, you’d never heard he was such a smartass.
“You know how to do stitches?” he asks.
Great. So he saw the deer-in-headlights look you had while thinking about how to fix his stab wound.
“If you count mending clothing then, uh, sure,” you reply.
The white slits of the helmet stare hard at you before a warped chuckle comes from under it.
“Well, close enough.”
Oh, so he liked to gamble with his health then. Okay. Sure. Great. You could totally do this. Untrained, unlicensed, unsupervised you. You have to stop your hands from shaking as you thread the curved needle. You have to stop yourself from vomiting with anxiety as you push the needle through his skin. He hisses and you immediately feel bad. He’d handled the alcohol without flinching, but the stitches were a different story. You whisper sorry’s with every puncture of his skin you make. Soon enough, his leg is closed up and the whole thing is said and done.
“Okay, should be good to go,” you start, “Well, not good per se, but functional to go.”
A hum and a quick nod of his head are the only response you get before he’s back on his feet. He’s about to climb out your window for the second time tonight when you call out to him again. He turns around and you’d swear he almost seems exasperated.
“Take these with you. You’ll probably need them,” you say as you toss him a water bottle and a small carton of orange juice.
He snatches them easily from the air. But then he just stands there and stares at the drinks in his hands. You think you may have somehow offended him and go to apologize when he speaks.
“Thanks,” he says, mechanical voice catching on the word.
And then he’s gone. Out your window and off into the night. Once you shut and lock the window you feel exhaustion hit you like a freight train. All the adrenaline drains from you and it takes whatever energy you have left to collapse on to your bed and drift off to sleep.
You’ll never know it, but the Red Hood spends the last fifteen minutes of his patrol sipping his orange juice and dutifully watching your apartment window.
You’ll never know it, but Jason Todd lingers across the street to make sure you get home from the grocery store safely, and he scoffs as he sees you feed and pet a stray dog. It’s silly, he thinks.
Don’t you know that now you’ve shown it some kindness, it’ll just keep coming back?

Tumblr media
Chapter Two, Chapter Three, Chapter Four, Chapter Five, Chapter Six
Transformers One x Cybertronian!GN!Reader
Following the Reader go on the large adventure of our heroes create their own path.
Trigger Warning: 16+(?), Some harassment, bit of assault not too sexual, Long aft chapter, we don’t meet B yet :(. So far that’s all.
(In this story the reader is Cybertronian and gender neutral. Going by they/them but you can imagine it’s your preferred pronouns if you wish. Be sure to not harass and bully anyone in the comments. Everyone is free to make their own opinion. The story will sort of be yandere-ish because that’s just fun if I’m being honest. Nothing too sexual but I’ll put it up for 16+. The characters to the reader are super affectionate as the reader is a little affectionate at times being a little more collected. The reader is cogless in the story and like I said the story is a little yandere-ish which means EVERYONE WANTS THE READER HAHAHAHAHA! At the end there will be a two parter. My plan with either the reader goes to join D-16 or OP and elite and Bee. lol making the three have to share you still but D would get the reader all to himself after leaving lmao. But for the ending with the three there will be secret 3 parts of the reader choosing them and becoming a couple at the end. Also no the reader isn’t being a ho. They're just really nice and slowly grow feelings. You can decide who they grow feelings for and who they grow to respect and care for more as a friend. I’m just having some fun at this point lol. I plan to release
6 chapters every Tuesday and yes they will be long so sorry if any of you don’t like long chapters.
The Reader. I want them to be pretty tall and their alt mode is going to be a helicopter. So think much of them like Drift from TF4 and they use swords as well. Compared to Orion and D they’re as tall as like that seen where it’s D and sentinel. They be the same height as D and D and Orion are the size of sentinel. Hope that makes sense. So they’re that same height with and before getting a cog. Their armor color is up to you like their gender as well as which ending you choose for them. You a B simp there is an ending for him like the others you simps lol.
I hope you all enjoy and will love the support as I keep continuing to write this series fiction. Well my first fiction planning to write more after it being transformers or other franchises….ok enjoy Imma go to bed)
The story begins on the planet Cybertron. A planet that’s a whole world of transformation. The story carries through the underground of the planet with buildings of a large city. Tall buildings hanging upside down over the city that stands up.
The story would go to the ground where the miners section, as other Cybertronians were chatting before going to work. A certain bot would walk through the halls and past others greeting them with a warm smile as they make their way to a certain gray bot who was admiring some of his stickers of his biggest idol. The bot would put their hands behind their back as they sneakily come up behind D-16 and whisper, making him jump a bit.
”So?-“ Soon on reflex D turns around and swings a punch at them being started. Y/N easily catches his fist with a soft smile and continues their question.
“How’s the collection coming along D?” They say with a little grin. Still holding his fist.
”Oh! Y/N! Sorry, I kinda just zoned out- Ya- ya know.”
“Oh I’m aware. I admire it too when I pass by you know.”
”Oh yeah- I-I mean, really? I wouldn’t have them if Orion didn’t go out most times. Just wish it didn’t have me saving his aft all the damn time before though.”
”You and I both D. But what can we do?” They say as they put their hand on the side of his shoulder and look at the collection admiring them. D glancing at them for a short moment.
”Beat him?” He says after a second. A cute grin on his face as he looked at them
”D!” They gently push his shoulder and smile.
”What I’m kidding. Ehh, sorta.” The two chuckled joking with each other as they looked at eachother then at D collection. The speakers in the miners section would speak telling the minors it’s time for their shift. D would then sigh and stretch his arms, flexing a bit to show off in front of Y/N. They just rolled their eyes and put a hand on Ds shoulder and starts walking with him as they walked towards the cart and start putting the tools for work before walking out with the others making their way to the train. D pushing the cart as Y/N walks close next to him.
Meanwhile~
The story then leads to a tower hanging on the top of the underground with the others as it shows a Cybertronian climbing and sneaking through a vent from the outside. Carefully landing in silence as he kneels down before red lasers on the ground. Him taking a closer look before looking around and then standing up. Stepping carefully towards his targeted direction. He then starts looking over a shelf with different records searching for a sort of recording chip.
”All right, lets see what we got here.” He says as he picks up a chip. Then walks to a table for the chips to show a recording.
”Seen it. Seen it.” He lets out a sigh as he walked and looked over the ships. “What’s this about?” He asks himself as he then puts the chip down on the table. After the records would start playing but it was a bit messed up being at its old age. The recording will repeat no as Orion would tell it to shush as he tries hitting the buttons.Causing one of the security bots to awaken and turn on floating in the air to find the source. Orion would then get the bright idea to take the chip out to shut it up and look behind him with worry in his eyes as he looked out for anything robot. He would then look back at the chip in his hand and gently blow on it before setting it back. The recording would start to work right.
”Ah, Here we go.” Orion says with joy.
”At the dawn of time. Years ago. There was our gracias and powerful creator. Primus. To protect our universe, he sacrificed his life for us. Transforming his life for us, transforming himself into our planet Cybertron. From within Cybertrons core birthed the first transformers known as the primes. The most powerful transformers appointed to lead future generations. To assist them primus created an entity of great power. The matrix of leadership”
”Matrix, there it is. Ok good. Come on. Keep going” Orion says un aware of the bot coming towards him.
”With the matrix in the primes possession. Cybertrons natural power source, energon. Flowed in abundance. Sustaining life across-“ The recording Continues as the small robot patrols and soon notices Orion. Orion was still watching the recording as he awaited the answer he’s searching for.
“Attention! Unauthorized movement detected at the archived vault. Sector J3.” The snitch robot says to other Cybertronianss with cogs.
“K to K 12 to K to K 1. Perching archives in 10 seconds.” A Cybertronian says with another as the two rocket shoes help them go faster to their intended location.
”For generations, there was peace and prosperity until the matrix of leadership was lost. Causing energon to no longer flow.” The recording says before turning off.
“Ugh, why does every leg and about the matrix end right there?” He sighs before looking in his arm. “One of these has to say what happened.”
“Halt. Criminal. Prepare to be contained”
”Uhh Iiiii”
”Prepare to be contained.”
”Prepare to conta-“ Orion would then punch it very hard after putting his fists up.
He would then run down the hall to where he came in from but the two guards who were warned about him made it in time to stop him. He would then turn the corner trying to escape still.
“Freeze!”
“Get Down!”
“Oh! Well! Hello guys! Yeah! I’m so glad you’re here. Which way is the exit? I must’ve taken a wrong turn.” He chuckles as he walks backwards.
“It’s that defective mining bot. Oreon Pix.”
”Orion Pax.”
”Who cares! We told you to never come back here!”
”Why are we all yelling guys?” He chuckles nervously.
”We are going to smash you!”
”Hold on. Whoa whoa hold on. No need for violence. How about this? I run away. You chase me. We play that game. Huh? Come on. You’re bigger, faster. It’ll be fun.”
”He doesn’t have a cog. Lets give him a head start.”
”Why not? It’s not like he can transform.”
”Oh yeah? Well watch this!” He would then fake a transformer ion to trick the two bigger bots before quickly turning around and running away getting a head start. Leaving the two mad as they both now chase after him.
“Get him!!”
Orion would then run through the archives and do a few stunts along the way. Jumping up and pulling a part of the ceiling down behind him causing it to fall on one of the bots. As he runs he then slides down on the floor as he keeps running looking for somewhere or something to use to escape. The two bots on his tail.
“I uh need something to find. Uh something to find.” He then spotted another bot for the archives.
Stealing the bot and carrying it in his arms as he kept running. The two bots are still chasing him. One of them would then transform mid air into his lt mode. Orion looking back seeing him would then run faster to the window. Jumping into it without hesitation. Orion would then be falling at very tall heights still holding the small robot with his hand. Hitting and shaking the bot to work
”Start!. Come on.” It would then work to help Orion stay in the air a bit as he hanged on.
Soon causing him to go into mid air traffic. Causing him to sort of get hit and him spinning with the bot. He would then hit a wall of a building causing him to let go and fall once more. Sliding down on the roofs of the building and making a fast jump to another one next door. Luckily catching it with his arms and climbing back on top. Noticing the two bots now on his tail again he fully got up and started running for a door.
”Haha. So long suck-“ He would then fall in a room full of Cybertronians speaking to each other. All having their cogs. He would land on a table breaking it and a bunch of energon placed there now around and a bit on him. All of them stare at him and he gets up taking a few energon with him
”Oh energon. Evening everyone. Pardon me.”
As he continued running he would slide off the floor again dropping some energon. Running into a crowd of other cybertronians with their cogs as a few would keep walking and others notice him making a run for it. He would continue to eat small pieces of energon off the floor as he kept running. He continues to run to where the other minors are as he bumps into other bigger Cybertronians who are surprised to see him. He would then notice the train and soon jump off a cliff right onto the train. landing on it causing the others inside to look up and see him.
”Oh it’s Orion.”
”Seriously?”
Orion would then keep running on the train. Once it’s at a complete stop he soon jumps off and continues to run getting closer to the doors for the minors as other minors are walking out. But the two bots would soon catch up and land in front of him, transforming. Orion then stopped to catch his breath.
“Ok. Hey fellas. Thanks for the head start. Wanna give me another one?”
”You’re dead!”
”I’ll take that as a no.” Orion says as he walks backwards again as the two bots get closer and closer now, more angry than ever. But then someone bumps a cart into one of the bots.
”Hey watch where you’re going you-oh nooo” D would then pretend to be surprised as he looked up at the two with his hands up.
”What did you say no cog?” The bot says to D.
”Sorry sir. I didn’t mean you. I was referring to the bot who was behind you.”
”What? Where he go?”
D would then start putting the tools needed back in the cart as he continues to speak to the bots. Helping Orion to escape.
“The filthy red and blue bot? Has a big mouth, squeaky joints, and gives off a carota metallic stench.”
”Where is he?!”
”He went that way.” D would then point to the right direction lying to the bots.
”When I get my hands on him!” The two then leave to the direction searching for Orion again among the many minor bots.
D would start walking to the train, getting on and standing at the other side.
*On the train-
Y/N and Elita were in the train already waiting for the train to start. The two stood. Elita speaking to another while Y/N looked out the window. Curious it’s in their eyes as they also look at the towers above. As they continued to look, Elita would turn and look at them. They sigh and look back down. Elita would dismiss her friend and walk to be next to Y/N looking out the window as well. Elita would then speak. Her hands down.
”So today is quite the day. I’ll finally get my promotion. I’m uhh- a little nervous.”
Elita was sort of lying feeling more confident. But she got nervous around them so much but did a good job not showing it too much. Y/N would then turn their body a bit as they looked at her with a soft smile.
”Elita you’ll do great. I believe in you. You’re a great leader and Sentinel is surely to notice.”
The train would start moving. Elita couldn’t help but smile as she glanced at them. She would then stutter on her words that are almost noticeable.
”O-oh you really believe so?” Her hand almost reached for theirs.
Y/N would then brightly smile and wrap that very hand and arm around her shoulders bringing her a bit closer. Elita caught herself as she then looked at them once at the same height. Their arms are still around her.
”I know it is. If anyone can do it. It’s you.”
Elita would visibly relax then. She would then get the confidence to put her hand on their shoulder as a smile is set on her lips.
”Thank you.” There was a moment of silence.
”And hey if it means you go to bigger places. Imagine! You’ll be an icon to all minors, not just me and the others close to you. Just don’t forget us. Dont forget me yeah?”
Elita would stare at them with soft optics as she stood up a little straight as she noticed they’re getting closer to the mines.
”You’re with me and a way better team than the last one.”
This made them really smile and look back up the window as it slowly gets dark. Them getting in the mines.
*Orion and D-
D was on the train as he nodded to another bot passing by
”Alright, all clear”
Orion would then pop out catching one of the tools from falling as he then would speak to D.
”Ok D-16 I may be a little rusty but carota that is too far. And where’s Y/N??”
”Elita had them join her earlier. To make sure the other miners aren’t going to mess up her promotion.” D would then sigh. Orion almost seemed disappointed like Ds face was. But they weren’t looking at each other.
”Let me guess. Checked out of the Archives?”
”Yeah. I had to jump out a window this time. Almost died. It was wild.”
”And digging through ancient data is worth dying for?”
”Yes it is.” He would say to the both of them as he then falls.
”I need a new best friend.” D groans as he then kneels down to help him.
“If there are clues in our recorded history that can help locate the matrix of leadership they’re in the archives. Trust-”
”Sentinel Prime. Thee sentinel prime is up on the surface. Right now. Is risking his life for us in search of the matrix. That’s-“
”Exactly what I’m doing! But I’m trying to help him!”
”Yeah. Oh oh ok.”
”The sooner energon flows again the sooner we won't have to mine for it. Don’t you wanna choose your own path. Do whatever you want?”
Orion would then leave against the cart as D will have both arms on the cart.
”We’re miners. We mine. That’s all”
”No, there's got to be something more I can do. I can feel it.”
”Oh yeah? Like the time that you had a feeling you could transform without a cog?”
”You said you were never going to mention that again!”
”Took me 3 days to pry you open. Your feelings get you in trouble.”
”Yeah. Yeah.”
”Just trust Sentinel Prime.”
”I do trust in him.”
”Hey. If we did have cogs.”
”I’d transform into a shovel and beat you.”
”I don’t like how fast you answered that.
“And listen if you did beat me. I couldn’t give you this awesome Megatronus prime thing I have here. It’s cool I’ll give it to someone else”
”What megatronus prime thing?
”Ah it’s nothing, it's just you know a mid-condition Megatronus prime decal first edition.” Orion would then show to be holding a Megatronus prime sticker between two fingers. Causing D to gasp before speaking.
”What?” He says in a low voice.
”I mean if you don’t want it I could just throw it away.”
”Throw it away!? Don’t- That’s not funny! Let me see it!” D tries to grab it before Orion pulls away.
”Don't grab. You’ll increase it.” Orion would then put the sticker on Ds arm and give his shoulder a nice pat before D speaks
”You know Sentinel prime says Megatronus was the-“
“Strongest Prime to ever live. I know buddy…It looks good on you.”
”It’s really cool. Thanks.
“Always Got Your Back.”
”No Matter What”
The two will the fist bump as they both smile at each other. Showing their brotherhood. (*crys*)don’t look at me)
The train would go into the mines as a lady over the speakers on the train would speak to the minors before their shift.
“Approaching sub level stations .Stand by of doors. Mining teams prepare to-“
The story then shows the works of mines as energon is shown falling out of mining carts. The coal of energon goes through a machine and soon shows energon flowing. Soon the miners for the shift at that hour fly through with rocket packs as they fly in unison to the designated spot. Y/N being behind D and Orion and speaks along with the others when speaking in unison.
“Metal to the pedal drill bits. This is it. How much energon you mine under my leadership.” Elita speaks as the leader she is.
“So much Elita One.” The minors say in unison.
“And how perfect is my mining record?”
“So perfect Elita One.”
“We are near 30 units of energon away from my promotion to supervisor. Are you happy for me?”
“So happy Elita One.”
The minors then land at a mining section. Elita in front with D and Orion right behind her. Y/N right next to Elita walking with here having their hands behind their back. A little smile on their face as usual.
“Elita- I mean Captain. You’re looking especially shiny this morning. New polish?”
Y/N Would look back at the two. Happy to see the two as the two would also look at them happy as Orion and Elita continue to talk.
“Orion Pax I’m sorry if I gave off the impression that we’re friends.”
“Apology accepted.”
“One up that wall! Let’s go! 10 seconds!”
“Happy to take the lead today captain. Feeling like I have enough power in me to drill down and touch primus myself.”
“You don’t have the touch or the power. Ready positions rust buckets. Let’s go!”
Elita would then start running as D and Orion continue to keep walking with their tools. Y/N joining her as they wave at the two before following. Orion and D would wave at them as they both have little cheeky smiles.
“She’s in a good mood today.”
“Mmm-hmm.”
“You ready?”
“Always ready. Lets punch it.”
They all would go to a section of the mines as a hole then a path opens up for them with much energon inside. Y/N still next to Elita as they ran along into the tunnel. Other bots behind them setting up a a sort of tool that extends to help keep the tunnel open for them. Once things are set Y/N and the other minors start to fly deeper into the mines. Finally landing and start using their tools. Taking out any peice of energon they can.
“Here we go, this one won't be open long. Brace it up.”
“Here we go! Ready!”
“Our channel is open.”
“Roll it out.”
Orion would glance over at them every now and then while D would focus on work a little more then Orion. Y/N continues their work until they hit something. But as they continued the energon would start reacting aggressively and the cracks wuld start to spread.
”Hey I got som-“
“It’s not stable! Gotta go. Gotta move!”
Everyone would start flying out of the mines flying up. Soon everyone getting pushed more by a explosion of the energon.
“Evacuate! I want everyone out! Evacuate immediately! The tunnel is closing! I repeat. The tunnel is closing!”
Elita an a few other minors fly away not being in the mining path. Jazz, D, Orion, and Y/N still behind in the mine as they keep flying escaping the closing mind right behind them.
“With me D?”
“On your six. Keep going!”
“Jazz? Y/N?”
“Right behind you” the two say together.
“Watch out!”
A giant rock would land on Jazz leg. Y/n was close to him and they already got up to start pushing the rock.
“Jazz is stuck! Elita we got a trapped minor. I’m falling back to assist.”
“Negatives do not break protocol. Evacuate.“
“We’re gonna need more lift!”
”We need a miracle!” Y/N and D said as struggle is heard in both their voices.
“It’s closing! Just grab your pack and go!”
“Good idea.”
“What?! No I didn’t mean it!”
“Pull him clear!” Orion would pull jazz as D and Y/N keep pushing. The pack soon exploding. Orion would protect Jazz as D. and Y/N lean away from the explosion to protect their self.
“Pax what’s happening?”
“Nothing much. Just normal protocol following stuff. It’s all good….oh that’s not good.”
The four would then hear a rumbling sound as they looked back. The place would then cause a sort of electric wave causing dust to go everywhere.
“Orion Pax, would you please exit the tunnel of death.”
“Elita1 it’s about to get messy out there!”
The wave would then reach the others and push Elita and the other minors back. The four are running together as fast as they can. Elita would throw the tools to keep the path open. Y/N behind D as they get closer and closer to the others. Everything is collapsing around them.
“Go go go!”
The four made a jump and were able to get out in time. D having to have talked Elita to save her while Y/N was right behind Orion. They were all able to get out. Y/N face planting on the ground
“What the hell Pax? I told you to evacuate.”
“I did. Eventually.”
Orion says as he and Elita speak while slowly standing up. D standing as he help Y/N giving her a hand. Before turning to help Orion. The three now looking at Elita while she spoke.
“If I get fired because of you!”
“Oh please. They’re not going to fire you.” Darkwing would then land behind her from the ceiling as he looked down at her.
“Elita One, you’re fired.”
“What?! Why? I follow protocol to the letter!”
“That is true. I was the one who broke the rules not-“
“No one asked you. Darkwing please I worked too hard for this you can’t-“
“You are no cog bots with limited options. report to waste management immediately.”
“Waste management?”
Elita would walk towards the three with anger in her eyes. Y/N looked at her sad as they try to reach a hand towards her.
“Elita.”
“Next time, why don’t you stop and think before you ruin someones life.”
“I'm sorry..”
Y/N would then get an idea and walks past the two and up to Darkwing. Getting in front of him after speaking to wheeljack
”The hell is your problem? Elita is just as good as any other like a cog bot I know and we know! OK you-“
”As I said. You are cogless bots with limited options. The only thing that makes any of you special is your ”relentless” need to work and eat. And the only way to get off that. Is to have a cog.”
He would then get in their face. Their face natural but their eyes are now farrowed as they stared up at him. They would then open their mouth only for him to interrupt them
”But we-“
”If you want more such as Elita did before. I suggest you either get better at your job or try a job where you will be a “little more” noticed.” He would put his hand on their shoulder a little closer to their head. D and Orion noticed and the two started to worry until Orion would got an idea
Y/N would look at his hand then look down, almost worried. Darkwings hand showing to squeeze their shoulder a bit.
”I’ll personally take you to the destination myse-“
“Hey Darkwing!” Darkwing takes his hand of them and stands up a bit straighter as he looks at Orion. Y/N look at Orion a bit worried for him
“Don't do it.” D said a bit annoyed with Orion but he mostly watched over Y/N.
“I may not have a cog but my finger can transform. Guess which one. I’ll give you a limited option.” Darkwing would then throw a punch towards Orions head until D stopped his fist with his hand.
“Excuse me sir. Allow me.” He then punches Orion on the side of the face
“I apologies on his behave for the disres-“ Darkwing would then punch D in the face
“whhhyyy”
“D!” Y/N would walk past Darkwing. He would watch them as they kneel down and look at them both. Darkwing would then scoff
“The offer still stands. Don’t let these two cogless scrap hold you back Y/N. They ain’t worth the time.” He says as he stays standing behind them. Crossing his arms as he looked down at him
”I’m fine with just where I am now. “Thanks” Darkwing but I can make my own connections and place as a cogless bot.” They give him side away. While he grumbles and walks away
They would look back at thee two. Orion sitting up as he groans from being punched and D doing the same but a bit slower. They help Orion and then D as they speak.
”Come on guys. Lets go back tot he train. We’re done here.”
The two groan as they say yeah in unison. Orion putting his hand on D shoulder while Y/N had one hand on his chest and the other on his back as he had his arm around their shoulder. The three would walk to the direction and get new jet packs along with everyone else. The three would soon make it to the train and head back to their mining quarters as they were done with that shift for the day.
*On the train-
Orion, D and Y/N stand on the train. D leaning on the window as he rubs the side of his face he was punched at. Orion leaning against the window on his back crossing his arms. Y/N stands as they put their hands on their hips and looks down. Worry and annoyance in their face. Orion notices this. Scratching the back of his head as he stands up a bit straighter and lets his arms down.
”You meant what you said right? Uh back there about the-”
”Yes Orion. I do mean it. Darkwing doesn’t know what he’s talking about when it comes to us miners. Just was he’s been told. At least from my point of view.” They would look at him. Orion smiling a little from their words
”So you will stay with us?”
”I’m at a better place with you guys then anywhere else Pax.” They say as they put their hand on his shoulder. Giving him a warm smile. D would then groan a bit more
”How much longer??”
”Just a couple more minutes D. Then you can rest better bud.”
”Yaaaaaaaayy”
Orion and Y/N would chuckle as they both looked at eachother. The train continueing.
*Back at the minors quarters-
“That. Really. Hurt…”
“Well what did you expect, he’s metal.”
Y/N was standing next to D and puts a hand on his shoulder and their other on their hip as he rests his head on his fist and looks down.
“You know you were out of line. Talking back to a superior like that.”
“Darkwing was out of line. He deserves it…Aren’t you tired of being treated like we’re nothing.”
“He had every right to hit me. I interfered.”
“Hey. And I appreciate you having my back. I’m glad you were there with me to get punched in the face. It was fun.”
“Anytime buddy.”
Y/N would look at them with a warm smile on their face. Crossing their arms as the two would chuckling together. Feeling better right away
“Attention all sectors stand by for a live transmission from Sentinel Prime.”
“He’s back? He’s back already?”
D would look at Orion and Y/N as the two stood up and the three went closer to where the hologram of Sentinel Prime would appear.
“Maybe he found the matrix.”
“Is it on? Ok, thank you. Hello my friends. Hello Iacon city. Hello to our saviors. Industrious miners, who toil ruthlessly to maintain our energon reserves. I celebrate you.”
Y/N next to Orion as D stands on his other side. Orion and Y/N stand their with soft smiles keeping their hands behind their back.
“Humility and presents. That’s leadership. Nobody does it better!” D says looking at the two. The two looking at him happy to see him smile.
“Once again I have narrowly returned with my fleet after another treacherous expedition across the desolate, dangerous surface of our planet. I departed in hopes of finding the matrix of leadership and in bringing balance to Cybertron. I regret to inform you that we’ve returned empty handed. This is a set back. But not a failure. Rest assured. I will find the matrix of leadership so that energon can flow again. but that’s in the future. Right now I think we all deserve a little fun. Tomorrow there will be no work, all shifts off. Because tomorrow is the Iacon 5,000. My favorite event a high obtain race all across Iacon city. Let’s all see which competitive can prove they are truly more than meets the eye.”
Everyone cheered excited thanks to sentinels speeches. D going to another bot to cheer while Orion and Y/N stood there. Orion was deep in though as he thought about Sentinels words. Y/N noticed and put a hand on his shoulder giving him a small smile. Later that night while everyone else was asleep Orion was the only one awake. Looking over at D who was across from him.
“D….Pst. Hey D….Oh good you’re up. Come on, I have an idea.”
“Whatever this is, it better be good.”
“Yeah yeah yeah ok listen. What if- What if- What if! Tomorrow we ran in the Iacon 5000! Huh?”
“What if I kill you for waking me up?”
“No no no hear me out. We don’t even have to win.”
“Nah that’s good ‘cause we wouldn’t.”
“But! If we beat just one transformer it proves we’re just as good as they are.Not only would we go down in history the- the mining bots that did the impossible but we would show everyone that we’re capable of so much more.”
“Or we get publicly humiliated and then busted back to tear one.”
“Yeah but at least we would’ve done something you know?”
“Pax.”
“Come on D-“
“Pax. We’re mining bots who can’t transform. We can’t fly. We can’t roll. We can’t race. Come on lets go.” D would start leaving back to the others to go back to sleep
“All right, fine. Yeah maybe you're right. Maybe…..” He would look at the board his face will show determination as he has his mindset on a new plan he’s sure to work
Oh yeah first chapter of Transformers One story where you’re a miner! Sorry for this being so long but every moment just feels right to add! Can’t wait to power chapter two next week and at least some of you enjoyed this lol. Any feedback or criticisms is welcomed and hope you all have a good rest of your Morning/Afternoon/Night

[ 📹 Scenes from renewed airstrikes by the Israeli occupation army targeting the town of Beit Hanoun, in the northern Gaza Strip, where a huge tower of smoke and dust rises over the city. ]
🇮🇱⚔️🇵🇸 🚀🏘️💥🚑 🚨
209 DAYS OF GENOCIDE IN GAZA AS ISRAELI OCCUPATION CONSIDER ALTERNATIVES TO RAFAH INVASION
On 209th day of "Israel's" ongoing special genocide operation in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) committed a total of 3 new massacres of Palestinian families, resulting in the deaths of no less than 28 Palestinian civilians, mostly women and children, while another 51 others were wounded over the previous 24-hours.
It should be noted that as a result of the constant Israeli bombardment of Gaza's healthcare system, infrastructure, residential and commercial buildings, local paramedic and civil defense crews are unable to reach countless hundreds, even thousands of victims who remain trapped under the rubble, or who's bodies remain strewn across the streets of Gaza.
This leaves the official death toll vastly undercounted as Gaza's healthcare officials are unable to accurately tally those killed and maimed in this genocide, which must be kept in mind while considering the scale of the mass murder.
As a result of the genocide of Palestinians by the Israel occupation army, Colombia's President, Gustavo Petro, has announced his administration will sever diplomatic ties with the Israeli entity.
The Colombian President made the announcement as part of the country's annual Labor Day celebrations, during which President Petro said that the Republic of Colombia would sever all diplomatic ties with the Israeli occupation on Thursday, due to the Netanyahu administration's tendency for genocide. President Petro further called the Israeli Prime Minister himself a "perpetrator of genocide".
In other news, the Israeli occupation's Security Service may be considering alternatives to the Rafah operation, an Israeli plan to invade Gaza's southern city of Rafah, where over a million Palestinian civilians have taken shelter in tent cities under the direction of the Israeli occupation army, in order to complete the supposed defeat of Hamas.
According to a report in the Palestinian news outlet, SAMA News Agency, the Israeli occupation's Security Services are deliberating on alternatives to a full-scale invasion of Rafah due to intense international pressure and outcry over a potential operation in the last city standing in the Palestinian enclave.
More than 1.4 million Palestinians have gathered in Rafah's tent cities, most having left their homes in northern Gaza following the start of the genocide, under the direction of the Israeli occupation army who told civilians the city was to be a "safe zone".
Since then, the Israeli occupation forces have repeatedly bombed and shelled the city, including, at times, the tents of civilians.
The report states that the Israeli Security Services considers that, "“in all cases, a focused military operation must be carried out on the Philadelphia axis” on the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt, under the supposed claim of “preventing smuggling routes for Hamas.”
The report added that the Security Services were also monitoring a "completely unusual" deployment of the Egyptian army near the border with Gaza, attributing the deployment to Egyptian fears that large numbers of Palestinians could stream across the border in the case of an Israeli assault on Rafah.
The Israeli Security Services said Egyptian army had deployed to areas where they previously had only Egyptian Police forces, which added army forces widely deployed with armored vehicles near the border.
The Security Services went on to say that Israeli army officers were preparing for a scenario similar to the 2012 operation, in which Palestinian mujahideen left Gaza for the Egyptian Sinai, seizing an armored vehicle before storming the Israeli border.
The report added that Israeli Security Services were considering a complete withdrawal from the Netzarim axis, seperating the northern and southern halves of Gaza, which constitutes a "heavy price" that the Israeli occupation was willing to pay as part of a hostage exchange deal with the Hamas Resistance movement. This despite continued Israeli calls for the "complete destruction" of the Hamas movement.
In further news, a number of American congressional Democrats signed a letter to US President Joe Biden, calling on the President to influence the Israeli occupation into not conducting an operation to invade the city of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.
57 out of 212 Congressional Democrats signed the letter, asking the Biden administration to take all necessary measures to dissuade the Israeli entity's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, from launching a full-scale invasion of Rafah.
"We urge you to invoke existing law and policy to immediately withhold certain offensive military aid to the Israeli government, including aid sourced from legislation already signed into law, in order to preempt a full-scale assault on Rafah," Democrats said in the letter.
The letter continued by saying, "an Israeli offensive in Rafah risks the start of yet another escalatory spiral, immediately putting the region back on the brink of a broader war that neither Israel nor the United States can afford."
"If the Israeli government will not uphold international law and protect civilians, then the United States must act to protect innocent life. We urge you to continue your work toward achieving a lasting ceasefire that will bring hostages home and build a path toward safety and security for all."
Meanwhile, the occupation's slaughter in Gaza slowed during negotiations for a hostage exchange deal, but did not stop, as several bombings targeted various sectors of the Gaza Strip, including the north, south and central axis.
In one example, Israeli occupation warplanes bombed a residential home in the Nuseirat Refugee Camp, in the central Gaza Strip on Wednesday evening, martyring a civilian and wounding at least 5 others.
Video published by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) showed the recovery of the dead and wounded, including women and children, while massive destruction was evident resulting from the strike.
In the video, PRCS crew members can be seen filling black plastic body bags, including at least one with a very small body, likely a young child.
At the same time, Zionist artillery shelling targeted a residential house in the Al-Fukhari area, killing a woman, while occupation fighter jets bombed a residential building in the "Six-Martyrs" neighborhood of the central Jabalia Refugee Camp, in Gaza's north.
Occupation jets also bombarded the town of Al-Mughraqa, while also shelling the headquarters for an electricity distribution company in Al-Zawaida, both in the central Gaza Strip.
The Barracks at the entrance of Al-Zawaida were also targeted in a bombing, resulting in a number of casualties.
By dawn, the bombing and shelling was renewed when occupation warplanes bombed the city of Al-Zahra'a, north of the Nuseirat Camp, in central Gaza, killing at least 6 civilians, while yet another bombing targeted the northwest of the Nuseirat Camp, after which, paramedic and civil defense crews removed the bodies of three civilians killed in the strike.
IOF warplanes further bombed agricultural lands near the Ard al-Mufti police station in the Nuseirat Camp, wounding 9 civilians and damaging several homes.
Elsewhere, Zionist air forces bombarded the Qaa al-Qurain area, southeast of Khan Yunis, in Gaza's south, murdering yet another civilian and wounding several others.
Occupation aircraft also bombarded the Bani Suhaila, Abasan, and al-Kuzha'a neighborhoods, east of Khan Yunis.
Local civil defense crews in the Khan Yunis Governate announced that they had recovered the bodies of 6 civilians of various ages, killed in bombings targeting the Camp area of Khan Yunis .
In yet another atrocity, occupation warplanes bombed a residential building belonging to the Ishteiwi family, in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, resulting in the deaths of two Palestinians and wounding a number of others, while several other Palestinians remain missing under the rubble.
IOF fighter jets also targeted a residential home in the Al-Shujaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza City, while another bombing of the Wadi Al-Arayes area, east of the Shuja'iyya neighborhood, resulted in the deaths of two civilians who were taken to the Baptist Hospital.
A group of civilians were also targeted in an airstrike in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City.
Occupation forces also continued to bomb the Sheikh Ajlin, Tal al-Hawa, and Al-Zaytoun neighborhoods of Gaza City.
The Israeli occupation additionally targeted the tents of displaced civilian families in the city of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, while also bombing the town of Al-Shoka and the Al-Tanour neighborhood, east of Rafah City, resulting in the death of one civilian and the wounding of many others.
As a result of "Israel's" ongoing special genocide operation in the Gaza Strip, the death toll among the local population has risen further still, now exceeding 34'596 Palestinians killed, including over 14'690 children and 9'680 women, while another 77'816 others were wounded since the start of the current round of Zionist aggression, beginning with the events of October 7th, 2023.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The night of the siege hangs over the camp like a thick cloak, the sky painted a deep, ominous gray as the forces of Mordor and the Hidden Mountain stand poised for war. The two armies moved together in perfect synchrony—Uruks and mages working side by side, their cohesion almost unnatural, as if they had always been meant to fight as one. Even the air hums with energy, with magic and raw power swirling in anticipation.
But something gnaws at you. A sense of unease, subtle yet persistent, lingers at the edge of your awareness. You had spent the night preparing, weaving enchantments and spells into the armor of your soldiers, strengthening their resolve, yet the feeling will not leave. You can not shake the sensation that you are missing something—a shadow lurking just out of reach.
Adar stands at your side, his gaze steady as he surveys the battlefield. The quiet before the storm. His Uruks are ready, their eyes filled with a fierce loyalty to their father. Your own mages stand at attention, their minds sharpened, awaiting your command. But still, the feeling persists.
"Do you feel it?" you ask, your voice low, meant for Adar’s ears alone.
He gives a slight nod, his eyes narrowing. "There is a shadow, but I can’t place it. It could be the weight of battle approaching—or perhaps Sauron’s dark presence."
His words do little to soothe your worry, but you nod in return, trusting that whatever it is, you will face it together.
As the time to launch the assault nears, Adar sighs. His eyes, always so guarded, seem to soften just for a moment, though they do not leave the city in front of him and he speaks quietly, as if the words were meant to be shared in this one, fleeting moment of stillness.
“When I came to you asking for aid, I had little hope,” he admits, his voice raw in a way you have never heard before. “I was prepared to face rejection, or at best, a begrudging alliance. But instead, I found more than I dared to hope for.”
Your heart quickens at his words, but you remain silent, waiting for him to continue.
“You are…,” he says carefully, his gaze suddenly holding yours with an intensity that makes your chest tighten. “Something I never expected to find. Should we survive this… You will always have a place by my side”
His words linger in the air, heavy with unspoken emotion. You feel the pull between you—dangerous, intoxicating, like the edge of a blade.
“I will consider it,” you reply softly, a small smirk making its way onto your face. “Though, truly I think you merely want the title King Consort.” Adar snorts, as though you had forced a small laugh out of him.
Before you can say anything more, the horns sound—deep, guttural, and unyielding—cutting through the night and signaling the start of the siege. The stillness shatters in an instant, replaced by the clamor of marching feet, the clanking of steel, and the roar of war drums. Torches flare to life, casting flickering shadows over the assembled armies, while the sky above seems to darken further as though the very stars are retreating from the violence about to unfold.
Adar stands tall before his Uruks, a father addressing his children before the greatest battle of their lives. His voice rises above the chaos, carrying with it the weight of years spent under oppression, of battles fought and lost, of scars worn not just on his body but in his very soul.
"My children," Adar begins, his voice low but resonant, commanding attention. "For too long, we have fought in the shadow of a master who never saw us as more than tools. For too long, we have bled for those who sought only to enslave us, to use us, to make us forget who we are. But tonight, we stand not as slaves, not as weapons forged by another’s hand—but as warriors, as free beings defending our home."
His words stir the air, a palpable energy rising among the Uruks. They hang on every word, eyes gleaming with fierce loyalty.
"Sauron thinks he can reclaim us," Adar growls, the disdain dripping from his tone. "But he underestimates the strength that courses through our veins, the fire that burns in our hearts. We are not the mindless creatures he once commanded. We are Uruks, forged in darkness, but destined for our own light!"
A cheer rises from the crowd, low and rumbling like the growl of an impending storm. Adar raises a hand for silence, his eyes scanning his army before landing on the mages who have joined their ranks.
"And tonight, we are not alone. With us stand our allies from the Hidden Mountain, mages of immense power—" Adar gestures to you and your warriors. "They will bring the forces of the elements and the very fabric of reality itself to our side. The elves and Sauron do not know what is coming for them. They expect us to be divided, broken, but they will be faced with something far greater than they have ever imagined. They will yield to us, or they will fall!"
The Uruks roar in unison, their voices echoing into the night. Adar’s ability to inspire his children—his unyielding belief in their strength—stirs the fire within you. His face, framed in torchlight as he stands proud before his forces, makes you long to pull him into your arms, never to let him go. For all his darkness, there is a nobility in him, a fierce love for those who follow him, for those he calls his children.
You step forward, your voice cutting through the noise, drawing the attention of your mages and the Uruks alike.
"Brothers and sisters," you begin, your gaze sweeping over the gathered warriors. "We have hidden in the shadows for too long, watching as this world forgot us, watching as it tore itself apart. But no more. Tonight, we fight not just for survival, but for our place in this world. A place we will carve out with our strength, with our magic, with our sheer will!"
The mages straightened, power thrumming through the air as they drew on the raw forces around them, ready for battle.
"We stand here alongside the Uruks, and together we are unstoppable. We will tear down their walls, break their lines, and claim what is ours. This is not just a fight for territory. This is a fight for our future. So let them come with their armies, their illusions of power. Let them face what they have never known—true strength, our strength!"
The armies before you erupt into a frenzy of cheers, the mages and Uruks unified in purpose. The air itself seems to hum with anticipation, the forces of magic and muscle combined into an unstoppable force.
Adar turns to you, his eyes shining with lust and power, a shared understanding of what is to come. He gives a nod, a silent agreement passing between you.
He raises his hand once more, commanding the attention of all. "Prepare the battering rams. Let the siege begin!"
With a sweeping gesture, Adar gives the signal, and the armies surge forward.
The first wave of Uruks surge forward, their war cries echoing as they charge toward Eregion’s gates. Your mages follow, hands raised as they chant in unison, sending dark spells to weaken the defenses, shifting the very earth beneath the enemy’s feet. The walls of Eregion tremble under the assault, and you feel the surge of power in your blood, driving you forward.
Adar leads his children with brutal efficiency, every swing of his blade precise and deadly. He is a force of nature, carving through the enemy with an elegance that belied the ferocity of his strikes. Your own power flows through you, bending reality to your will, turning enemy minds against them, shifting the battlefield into a distorted maze of illusions and traps.
But still, the dread lingers.
As the battle rages, chaos unfurls in every direction—screams, the clash of steel, and the thrum of magic weave into a deafening storm around you. Amidst the swirling carnage, you catch sight of him—Sauron. His dark, imposing figure moves through the battlefield like a wraith, his black armor gleaming under the dim light of the moon, a stark contrast to the blood and fire that splatters his path. His eyes burn with cold malice, and with every swing of his blade, Uruks and mages alike fall before him, their bodies crumpling under the sheer force of his power.
Your heart clenches as you watch him, this shadow from histories darkest memories, slicing through your forces with such ease, his movements terrifyingly precise. Adar sees him too, and without a word, the two of you begin moving toward him, weaving your way through the battlefield, your hearts pounding with the knowledge that this is the confrontation you had both been preparing for.
The distance closes, and finally, the three of you meet in the heart of the storm, where the fighting becomes background noise to the intensity of this moment. Around you, the armies churn like waves crashing against each other, but here, the air stills, heavy with the weight of what is to come.
Adar steps forward, his sword raised high, and it is as though time slows. His blade swings through the air, crashing against Sauron’s with a sound that reverberates across the battlefield, a thunderous clash of steel on steel that sends sparks flying into the night. Adar presses forward with fury and determination, each strike fueled by years of hatred and vengeance, but Sauron meets him blow for blow, his expression unbothered, his strength seemingly boundless.
You move quickly, weaving your magic into the fight, sending waves of energy through the ground beneath Sauron’s feet, disrupting his balance, warping the very air around him. The space bends as you channel your power, disorienting him, making it harder for him to move with his usual deadly precision. But even as your magic hums through the battlefield, you feel the weight of Sauron’s presence pressing down on you, like a tidal wave of darkness threatening to consume you whole.
Sauron’s gaze locks onto you, his molten eyes burning through the haze of war, and in that moment, it is as if the battlefield falls away, leaving only the two of you. His voice cuts through the din, dark and mocking. “You’ve aligned yourself with the father of monsters, Witch Queen,” he sneers, his tone dripping with disdain. “How far you’ve fallen.”
You meet his gaze, but you do not rise to the bait. Your hands glow with raw power, the energy vibrating in your bones as you push harder, bending the world around him, creating cracks in his perception, distorting his defenses. You twist the very fabric of reality itself, trying to pin him down, to slow his movements, to weaken his control over the battlefield.
But Sauron’s power is immense, relentless. His will presses against yours, pushing back as though your magic were nothing more than a fleeting annoyance. You grit your teeth, focusing harder, feeling the strain in every fiber of your being as you try to keep up the pressure.
Adar fights fiercely beside you, his sword a blur as he parries and counters each of Sauron’s brutal strikes. The two of them move like titans locked in combat, sparks flying with every blow, the sound of their swords clashing echoing through the battlefield.
Sauron’s gaze flickers back to you, his lips curling into a cruel smile. He knows. He feels the exhaustion creeping into your bones, the toll this battle is taking on you. You’re powerful, yes, but this? Holding him at bay while the war rages around you—it’s draining you. You can already feel your grip slipping, the effort of bending reality, of distorting the world itself, pulling you under.
“You cannot win,” Sauron murmurs, his voice low and insidious, echoing in your mind. “You’re nothing. A child playing with forces beyond her comprehension.”
His words echo in your ears, but you push them aside, focusing instead on your connection to the land, to the magic thrumming beneath your feet. You reach deeper, drawing more power from the earth, from the elements themselves, even as your vision blurs from the strain.
But you know, even as you fight, that you cannot hold him forever. Already, your limbs grow heavy, your energy dwindling as you both distract Sauron and fend off the elves that try to break through the battlefield to reach you.
Still, you fight. Still, you hold on.
Adar senses your fatigue, and he fights harder, his blows growing more vicious, more desperate as he pushes Sauron back, his dark eyes blazing with fury. For a brief moment, Sauron stumbles, caught off guard by a powerful strike from Adar, and you seize the opportunity. You pour every ounce of magic you have left into one final push, warping the ground beneath Sauron’s feet, sending a shockwave of power through the battlefield.
But Sauron is too strong. He recovers quickly, faster than you expected, and his eyes snap back to you, burning with rage.
“You think you can stop me?” he growls, his voice a deadly whisper. “I will tear your world apart, and you will watch as everything you love burns.”
His blade swings toward you, a blur of steel, and in that moment, time seems to slow. You barely have time to react, your heart pounding in your chest as the world narrows to the gleaming edge of Sauron’s sword.
And then Adar is there, his sword clashing with Sauron’s once more, blocking the blow meant for you. The force of their clash sends a shockwave through the ground, knocking you back, but you quickly regain your footing, your magic swirling around you like a storm as you prepare for the next strike.
Adar moves with deadly precision, his strikes relentless. But just as it seems you are gaining the upper hand, you catch a flicker of movement out of the corner of your eye—Glûg.
At first, you think he has come to your aid- or that of his Lord Father. He moves swiftly, almost too quickly, sneaking through the chaos of the battlefield toward Adar. His blade gleams under the dim light. With horror, you realize the blade is aimed not at Sauron but at Adar’s unprotected back.
“Adar!” you scream, but the warning comes too late.
Glûg’s blade thrusts forward, and time seems to slow as you watch in horror. The sound of steel cutting through the air is deafening, and you are powerless to stop it.
The Weight of Silence Part 1
Olivia Benson x Genderless Reader
2k words
Tumblr media
The precinct hummed with the low buzz of voices, the rhythmic clicking of keyboards, and the shuffling of files as the Special Victims Unit delved into another case. You leaned back in your chair, stretching your tired arms over your head, stealing a glance at Captain Olivia Benson’s office. The glass walls of her office provided a clear view of her, head bent over a pile of files, her brow furrowed in concentration. Her desk lamp cast a soft glow that framed her in shadows, giving her an aura of authority and elegance.
You had been Olivia’s lieutenant for years now. Together, you’d seen more horrors than you cared to remember, stood in the thick of crimes that shook the city to its core, and brought justice to those who couldn’t fight for themselves. But through it all, you had stood by Olivia’s side. It wasn’t just a professional relationship—it was a bond forged in fire, through trust, respect, and something more, something neither of you dared to acknowledge.
There was an undeniable chemistry between you, something you could feel in every shared glance, every brush of her hand against yours, and every quiet moment spent side by side, piecing together the details of a case. It lingered like a shadow between you, this unspoken tension that crackled in the air, and though you both pretended it wasn’t there, everyone in the precinct knew.
“Lieutenant, we got something.” Fin’s voice broke you from your thoughts.
You turned toward him, grateful for the distraction. He held a tablet out to you, a frown pulling at his lips. “Take a look at this.”
You took the tablet, your eyes narrowing as you read over the autopsy report. The victim, a 16-year-old girl named Lily Sampson, had been found three days earlier in a dilapidated apartment building on the outskirts of Manhattan. Bruises covered her body, and the evidence pointed to a particularly violent sexual assault. The medical examiner had just confirmed that the DNA found at the scene was a match for a known predator—a man by the name of Gavin Ross, who had slipped through the cracks of the justice system more than once. A chill ran down your spine. Ross was bad news, and if he was involved, this case was far from over.
Olivia emerged from her office, her sharp gaze landing on you. She seemed to sense the change in the room, her posture immediately shifting to one of alertness. “What do we have?”
You passed her the tablet. “It’s worse than we thought. DNA came back, and it’s a match for Gavin Ross.”
Her eyes darkened as she skimmed through the report. “Ross… Damn it. I thought we’d locked him up two years ago.”
“We did. He got out on a technicality. Bad evidence collection on a prior case,” you said, your voice laced with frustration. “And now we’ve got a dead teenager on our hands.”
Olivia clenched her jaw, her eyes flashing with anger and determination. “We’re not letting him slip through again. Not this time.”
Her resolve was one of the things you admired most about her. No matter how dark or twisted a case got, she never gave up. But with cases like this, you knew it took a toll. She bore the weight of every victim, carried the burden of every injustice like a cross. You saw it in the way her shoulders tensed at every new revelation, in the tired lines that had begun to crease her face.
“Let’s bring him in,” Olivia said, her voice firm. “Fin, Rollins, see if you can get an address on Ross. He’s slippery, but he’s got a pattern. Check the usual haunts.”
As the team dispersed, you caught up to Olivia. “Do you think we’ll get him this time?”
Her expression softened for just a moment, a fleeting crack in her armor. “We have to.”
Hours passed in a blur of dead ends and frustration. Ross had gone underground. Fin and Rollins had come up empty at every location they searched. You could see the tension building in Olivia’s shoulders, the weight of the case pressing down on her. As the clock ticked closer to midnight, the squad room began to empty out, officers heading home or grabbing a few hours of sleep before the next shift. But you and Olivia remained, as always, locked in the hunt.
You sat across from her at her desk, the two of you going over case notes, when Olivia suddenly slammed a file shut, frustration bubbling over. “We’re missing something,” she muttered, rubbing her temples.
You watched her carefully. “We’ll find him, Liv. We always do.”
She looked up at you, her eyes softening at the sound of your voice. There it was again, that unspoken connection—just beneath the surface, always there, always waiting. “You should go home. Get some rest. We’ll pick this up tomorrow.”
“I’ll go when you go,” you said, your voice gentle but firm.
A small smile tugged at her lips, the first one you’d seen all day. “Stubborn as ever, huh?”
You shrugged, leaning back in your chair. “It’s one of my many talents.”
The brief flicker of amusement in her eyes warmed your chest, but it disappeared as quickly as it had come, replaced by the heavy burden of the case. Olivia’s hand moved to the file in front of her, fingers tracing the edge of a photograph of the victim, her eyes distant. “She was so young,” she whispered, more to herself than to you. “This shouldn’t have happened.”
You stood and moved around her desk, standing beside her. You didn’t say anything—there was nothing to say that would make it better. But you placed a hand on her shoulder, offering silent support. She glanced up at you, and for a moment, something passed between you, something raw and unguarded.
Her gaze flicked to your hand on her shoulder, and you quickly pulled away, clearing your throat. The tension crackled in the air like static electricity, the pull between you undeniable. But, like always, it was left unsaid.
Before either of you could say anything more, Rollins burst through the doors of the squad room, her face flushed with urgency. “We’ve got something. A tip came in—Ross was spotted at a motel down in Hell’s Kitchen. We’ve got units headed there now.”
Olivia shot to her feet, all traces of fatigue gone. “Let’s go.”
You were already moving, adrenaline pumping through your veins as the three of you rushed out of the precinct, sirens blaring as you sped through the darkened streets of Manhattan.
The motel was a run-down, seedy place tucked away in the shadows of Hell’s Kitchen. The kind of place where people disappeared. As you approached, your heart pounded in your chest. This was it—your chance to bring Ross in before he slipped away again.
“Units have the perimeter secured,” Rollins reported, her voice low as the three of you approached the motel doors, weapons drawn. “He’s holed up in room 214.”
Olivia nodded, her face a mask of focus. “Let’s do this.”
You took position beside her, exchanging a quick glance. In that brief second, the rest of the world fell away. It was just you and her, two parts of the same machine, moving together without needing to speak. The trust between you was absolute.
Olivia knocked on the door, her voice authoritative. “NYPD! Gavin Ross, open up!”
Silence.
Your grip tightened on your weapon, your pulse quickening. Every second felt like an eternity. Then, suddenly, the door flew open, and Ross bolted.
“Stop!” Olivia shouted, but Ross didn’t listen.
You sprang into action, chasing him down a narrow alley behind the motel. The sound of your footsteps echoed in the confined space as you closed the distance between you. You could hear Olivia right behind you, her breath labored but determined.
Ross darted around a corner, but you were faster. You lunged forward, tackling him to the ground. He struggled, but you pinned him down, twisting his arm behind his back as you slapped the cuffs on him.
Olivia was beside you in an instant, her eyes blazing with triumph. “You’re done, Ross. You’re not getting away this time.”
Ross spat at her feet, but Olivia didn’t flinch. She stood tall, her presence commanding as always, and you couldn’t help but feel a surge of pride. This was what you did, what you both did—together.
Back at the precinct, the team was abuzz with the victory. Ross was in custody, the case was wrapped, and Lily Sampson’s family would finally have justice. It was a rare moment of celebration in a job that so often ended in heartbreak.
As the adrenaline began to wear off, you found yourself back at Olivia’s office. She was sitting at her desk, her expression thoughtful, but there was a quiet satisfaction in her eyes.
You knocked softly on the doorframe. “Mind if I come in?”
She looked up, a small smile playing on her lips. “Always.”
You stepped inside, closing the door behind you. There was a comfortable silence between you, the weight of the case finally lifting. But just as you began to settle into that brief moment of reprieve, your phone buzzed. The precinct’s alert system flashed across the screen—a new development. Something big.
Olivia’s phone buzzed at the same time. She looked at you, her brow furrowing. “What is it?”
You glanced at your phone. “Ross’s prints came up on another crime scene. It just came in.”
Olivia’s face darkened, the weariness of the day replaced by a sharp edge of concern. “Another crime scene? When?”
You scrolled through the alert. “Two days ago. The body of a woman found in a park in Queens. Her face wasn’t recognizable, but the prints match Ross.”
A heavy silence settled between you. You thought you had him, thought this was finally over, but it seemed Ross had been busy before you caught him. Another victim. Another life lost.
Olivia rubbed her temples, her voice low but full of resolve. “We need to talk to him again. If there’s another victim, we can’t afford to wait.”
You nodded, already standing up. “I’ll grab the case file on the new victim. Let’s go make sure he doesn’t slither out of this one.”
The precinct was quieter now, the late hour thinning out most of the officers and detectives, but as you and Olivia moved with purpose toward the holding cells, it felt like the weight of the world was on your shoulders. Cases like this were never clean, never simple. They stuck to you, left scars that couldn’t be healed.
When you reached the interrogation room, Ross was slouched in his chair, his wrists shackled to the table, his face twisted into a smug smile that made your stomach turn. The guy had no remorse—he never had. He glanced up lazily as you and Olivia entered, his expression daring you to do something.
Olivia didn’t waste any time. “We found your prints at a second crime scene, Gavin. Two days ago. Another woman dead. You think this is over?”
He shrugged. “You got me on one, Benson. But two? You sure about that?”
You exchanged a quick glance with Olivia. This was typical of predators like Ross—never give anything up unless they had to. His cocky demeanor only made the tension between you and Olivia grow thicker, the unspoken frustration of dealing with another monster who thought he could outsmart the system.
Olivia stepped closer, her voice low and dangerous. “We’re sure, Gavin. And so is the DA. This isn’t just about Lily anymore. You’re going down for both, and we’ll make sure you rot in a cell for the rest of your miserable life.”
Ross’s smirk faltered slightly, but he leaned forward, his eyes glittering with something dark and twisted. “You really think you know me, Benson? You think you know everything I’ve done?” He chuckled, a sound that made your blood boil. “There’s more. And you won’t even scratch the surface.”
Olivia’s eyes narrowed, her jaw clenched. You could feel the anger radiating off her in waves, but she didn’t give in to his provocation. Instead, she motioned for you to step outside with her.
Once in the hallway, you could see the tension in her posture, the way her fingers drummed against her side. You knew what she was thinking—this case was spiraling, and the more you learned, the darker it became.
“He’s taunting us,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper, but her frustration clear.
You nodded, your mind racing. “He’s hiding something. We need to dig deeper—check for other unsolved cases, anything that fits his MO.”
Olivia turned to you, her eyes intense, and for a moment, everything around you seemed to slow. You were standing closer than usual, the small space between you filled with that ever-present tension. Her eyes flicked over your face, lingering for just a moment too long.
You swallowed, feeling the pull, that undeniable chemistry that had been simmering for years. “We’ll get him,” you said, your voice softer than intended.
Olivia held your gaze for a second longer before nodding, her expression softening just a fraction. “We always do.”
The next day passed in a blur of information gathering and connecting dots. You worked tirelessly alongside Olivia, poring over files, cross-referencing old cases, and piecing together Ross’s movements. What you uncovered was chilling.
There were at least three other unsolved cases over the past year that matched Ross’s MO—each victim a young woman, each one lured to an isolated location and murdered brutally. The cases had slipped through the cracks, but now, with Ross in custody, it was clear he had been hunting for far longer than anyone had realized.
You and Olivia sat across from one another at a table covered in photos, maps, and reports. Your shoulders brushed occasionally as you leaned in to point out connections, the closeness sending small shocks through you. It was nothing new—this proximity—but lately, it felt heavier, more charged.
As you pointed to a spot on the map, showing where one of the victims had been found, Olivia’s hand brushed yours. Neither of you pulled away immediately, and your eyes met, lingering just a beat too long. There it was again—that unspoken electricity that had crackled between you for years.
You cleared your throat, pulling your hand back and trying to refocus. “If we push the DA, we might be able to tie Ross to these other cases. Build a stronger profile.”
Olivia nodded, her voice a little quieter than before. “You’re right. Let’s get the detectives on it.”
But even as you both continued to talk strategy, the air between you felt different. Something had shifted in that moment of accidental touch, something that neither of you wanted to fully acknowledge.
It was late again, the precinct emptying out as you and Olivia prepared for one final push. Ross had been formally charged for Lily’s murder and the second victim, but the investigation was far from over. You both knew there were more victims, more pieces to the puzzle that needed to be solved.
You found yourself sitting on the edge of Olivia’s desk as she reviewed the updated case files, the soft light from her desk lamp casting a warm glow over the room. There was a comfortable silence between you, the weight of the day’s work settling into your bones, but there was also something else—something that made your chest tighten every time you looked at her.
Olivia glanced up at you, her lips curving into a small, tired smile. “You’re still here.”
You shrugged, trying to ignore the way your heart skipped a beat at the sound of her voice. “I said I’d go when you go.”
She tilted her head slightly, her gaze holding yours for a moment before she spoke again. “You always have my back, don’t you?”
There was something in her voice—something softer, more vulnerable. It caught you off guard.
“Always,” you replied, your voice equally soft. The word felt heavier than usual, like it carried more than just professional loyalty.
Olivia leaned back in her chair, exhaling slowly. The tension that usually held her so tightly seemed to slip away, and for the first time that night, she looked almost relaxed. “I don’t know what I’d do without you here.”
Your breath caught in your throat, the intensity of her words hanging between you. For a moment, the case, the precinct, the entire world seemed to fade away. All that remained was the two of you, the unspoken bond that had always been there but had never been acknowledged.
You opened your mouth to say something—anything—but before the words could come, the sound of your phone buzzing on the desk shattered the moment.
You both blinked, the spell broken. Olivia sat up straighter, her usual mask of composure slipping back into place as she glanced at your phone. “Looks like you’ve got a message.”
You grabbed the phone, glancing down at the screen. It was a notification from Fin—Ross’s lawyer had arrived at the precinct, and they were prepping for another round of questioning in the morning.
Olivia stood, her expression shifting back to business as usual. “Looks like tomorrow’s going to be another long day.”
You nodded, slipping your phone into your pocket. “Yeah. Guess we should call it a night.”
As you both gathered your things, the tension between you returned, heavier than ever. But just like always, it remained unspoken.
As you walked out of the precinct together, the cool night air hitting your skin, you stole one last glance at Olivia. There was something in her eyes, something you couldn’t quite read, but before you could dwell on it, she gave you a small smile.
“Good night,” she said softly.
“Good night, Olivia,” you replied, your heart aching with everything you couldn’t say.
And as you both went your separate ways, the weight of silence followed you, lingering in the air like a promise waiting to be fulfilled.
One of the bleakest places on Earth today is the central processing facility for the remains of dead soldiers in the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don, the logistical hub of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Designed to process hundreds of corpses at a time, this sprawling mega-morgue has been hopelessly overwhelmed for many months. Footage from the inside, posted by witnesses on social media, shows hundreds of bodies in various stages of decomposition and limbs strewn across the corridor floors. In wooden boxes lining the walls from floor to ceiling, row after row after row, are the lucky ones: those whose bodies were recovered from the battlefield, identified, sealed in zinc-lined caskets, and prepared for dispatch to their grieving relatives in the farthest corners of Russia. Many more corpses have been abandoned to rot in Ukrainian fields because evacuating them is impractical under the constant barrage of the defenders’ artillery and drones.
To be sure: These soldiers’ deaths are the necessary consequence of Ukraine’s right to defend itself against an illegal war of conquest. What’s more, many of these ordinary Russian soldiers likely committed despicable brutality and war crimes against Ukrainians, including defenseless civilians. But the horrific rate at which Russians are getting killed at the front—much higher than corresponding Ukrainian losses, although exact numbers are kept secret by both sides—points to two disturbing truths about the Russian way of waging war. First, a cruel disregard for human life extends to Russia’s own forces, which the Kremlin systematically deploys in so-called meat grinder and human-wave attacks. Second, mass death among Russian troops has become part of an increasingly explicit eugenics policy, by which the Kremlin seeks to rid Russia of undesirable elements and reconfigure the Russian population. The eugenics aspect of Russia’s war has long been an open secret, widely discussed on Russian talk shows and social media. Now, a high-ranking Russian politician has made it plain for the first time.
The numbers boggle the mind. With an estimated rate of 1,500 casualties per day, October was the bloodiest month of the war for Russia as President Vladimir Putin throws everything he has into battle. Estimates for total Russian war deaths range from 115,000 to 160,000, more than 10 times Soviet combat deaths in Afghanistan. Total Russian casualties—killed and wounded—are estimated at around 800,000. According to Anastasia Kashevarova, a rabidly pro-war Russian journalist, the average Russian infantry soldier lasts less than one month at the front before being killed. With casualties exceeding Russia’s ability to recruit fresh soldiers, few of the troops receive any serious training before they’re sent to assault the Ukrainian lines.
It’s not just lives that Russia is losing in astonishing numbers—equipment, too, is being lost at a rate far beyond what’s possible to replenish from weapons production or dwindling stocks. According to WarSpotting, an open-source intelligence project that uses video confirmation to track Russian equipment losses, Russia lost more than 500 pieces of heavy equipment in October—including tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, and aircraft—twice as many as during the Battle of Grozny from 1994 to 1995, whose catastrophic losses in men and equipment demoralized Russian forces and society at the time. Today, some of the largest Russian military storage bases have almost been stripped clear of equipment, with even old Soviet-era tanks and armored vehicles dragged to the front.
Russian politicians, pundits, and ordinary citizens, who fantasize publicly about mass murdering Ukrainians, make no secret of the view that their own soldiers’ lives are worth hardly more. The shift to World War II-style meat grinder tactics has been widely and passionately discussed on pro-war Telegram channels since the battle for Bakhmut, which began in the summer of 2022 and lasted almost an entire year. The battle marked a doctrinal shift from the failed concept of battalion tactical groups—composed of some of the most elite and efficient Russian units, such as paratrooper and special forces regiments—to Soviet-style mass frontal assaults.
In Bakhmut, Wagner Group commander Yevgeny Prigozhin introduced what is now the standard Russian tactic of sending human wave after human wave of disposable infantry into the assault until the Ukrainian defenders’ guns jam or run out of bullets. In Wagner’s case, these were mainly convicts recruited from prisons with promises of freedom and mercenaries lured by exorbitant pay. Russia finally won the yearlong fight over the city’s smoldering ruins at the cost of at least 20,000 Wagner mercenaries alone. Later, the meat grinder policy was adopted for the entire Russian army, with each major unit setting up assault groups for that purpose.
It has been a terrifyingly effective tactic, but Russian casualties incurred by it are beyond comparison in recent military history. The battle for the Ukrainian town of Avdiivka alone may have cost around 16,000 Russian lives—and that appears to be a very conservative estimate circulated by Russian pro-war bloggers, who generally have an incentive to downplay their own side’s losses.
But Russian disregard for life is not just a question of battlefield tactics. What stands out is the deliberate cruelty. The Russian military has stunned the world with its wanton brutality toward Ukrainian civilians—including widespread rape, torture, killings, and abductions—and prisoners of war. (The latter are now routinely executed, another in a long list of Russian war crimes.) But the cruelty dispensed by officers on their own subordinates is also shocking. Russian Telegram channels are full of accounts of soldiers tortured for refusing or questioning orders, of seriously wounded troops sent to a certain death in an assault, and of Soviet-style barrier troops behind the front line, whose sole job is to shoot shirkers and deserters—also known as nullification. Suicidal human-wave attacks are both a means and an end: Commanders have reportedly assigned soldiers to these expendable units as a punishment for various disagreements or for the failure to pay a bribe.
Under these circumstances, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that many Russian soldiers choose to end their lives. By now, there are hundreds of videos online showing Russian soldiers shooting themselves through the mouth to spare themselves an even grislier death, knowing that there is little hope for medical evacuation on the Russian side.
An even more sinister aspect of Russia’s disregard of the value of life is the increasingly open framing of the war as a national eugenics project. “Spare people” with low “social value” is how Russian parliamentarian Aleksandr Borodai described his compatriots sent as cannon fodder to Ukraine in a leaked tape, the authenticity of which he later confirmed. Expendable manpower, he explained, can be thrown at Ukraine’s “bravest [and] boldest,” and “exhaust the enemy to the maximum.” Borodai isn’t just anybody: He’s a political consultant from Moscow who declared himself prime minister of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic in Ukraine in 2014, and he’s now a member of the Russian parliament for the ruling United Russia party. Coming from someone this prominent, it is essentially a confirmation of how Russia is running the war.
That the war has changed the composition of the Russian population has long been clear from the incomparably higher rates at which non-Russian ethnic minorities—Buryats, Tatars, Tuvans—are dying in the war. But these are not the only disfavored parts of the Russian population while the Russian leadership shields the politically important populations of Moscow and St. Petersburg, where unrest could endanger the regime and where much of the Russian elite resides. Prisons have been virtually emptied as inmates are sent to the bloodiest sections of the front. And the protection of the major urban populations in European Russia means that the more remote, poorer, and less ethnically Russian regions are bleeding out.
To compensate for the deliberate loss of “expendables” at the front, a crucial part of Moscow’s eugenics program is played by Ukrainians. Several million Ukrainians have been removed from the occupied territories and resettled in Russia, a disproportionate share of them women and children. In their place, Russian settlers are moving in. Tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of these abducted children are now being Russified to strip them of any Ukrainian identity, a clear echo of the Nazi eugenics policy of shipping blond Polish children back to the Reich to be adopted and turned into Germans. Some of the Ukrainian boys are now old enough to be forcibly conscripted into the Russian army—yet another war crime on an already long list.
Russia still has numerical superiority, but its resources are not infinite. The suicidal Russian strategy of waging war, while effective, is not sustainable in the long term, especially with the Russian economy already showing signs of immense strain.
The fate of Russia’s invasion now effectively hinges on Western willingness to commit to Ukraine’s push for independence from Russia’s neo-imperialist aspirations. U.S. President Joe Biden’s final weeks in office may yet prove to be critical: His decision to grant Ukraine permission to strike key military targets inside parts of Russia with U.S.- and British-supplied weapons has already elicited an angry response from Moscow, even if there is nothing new about Ukraine using Western arms to strike vital targets in what Russia considers its lands, including illegally annexed Crimea. It’s up to the West to help Ukraine make sure that Putin loses his gamble as he throws everything he has against Ukraine before his equipment and trained soldiers run out. Catastrophic human losses won’t deter him, as they are deeply ingrained in Russia’s cruel way of waging war.
Name: Sadicletius
Title: The Encrusted Titan
Species: Elder Dragon
"Not much is known about this monster, as its emergence has only occurred recently and its movements have called for immediate action over study. Through simple observation from airships and balloons, and a look at the history of the region where it emerged, guild ecologists have hazarded a guess on the story of this titanic beast. Evidence gathered from digs and fossils suggests that this region was once an ancient ocean, and that this monster was once a denizen of it. However, at some point it went into hibernation, either voluntary or forced, and it slept for centuries. During this time, the ancient sea vanished, turning into the salt flats known today. This in turn buried the creature under layers upon layers of salt, encrusting its entire body. Recent guild activities in the area appear to have roused the beast from this timeless slumber, and it now has found itself in a world it doesn't understand and in a state that causes it much misery.
No doubt this species was either amphibious or aquatic, but the waters of its home are long gone, and now it is inflicted with a smothering coat of salt. In its distress, it is seeking safety and familiarity, which is why it is charted heading towards the nearest water body. No doubt it is looking to return to water and shed this crushing shell of salt, but unfortunately the guild cannot allow this to happen. The lake it is crawling towards is fresh water, and also the site of a major base of operation. Not only would its path trample over the city, but its refreshing dive into the lake would destroy the ecosystem with the massive release of salt into its waters. It is up to the hunters to intercept the beast and take it out before this can happen.
The site of the operation has been set at a nearby canyon, where the beast will be funneled towards on its march to the water. Here a wall has been constructed to block its path, while levels of fortifications and siege weaponry line the canyon walls to give hunters a base to fight from. The plan is to pin Sadicletius in this canyon and use the weapons to bring it down. Due to its thick layers of salt and immense size, it will call for heavy firepower and concentrated efforts to do damage. This site is the one chance to break through this armor and slay the titan, if it smashes through the wall, then there will be nothing to stop it from its goal. Everyone, including the entire ecosystem, is counting on you!"
The assault on Sadicletius is a siege event, where the massive salt encrusted beast is crawling through a narrow canyon on its way towards the lake. Barriers have been erected to slow its progress, until it reaches the final wall that separates it from the lake and city. The objective is to slay the monster before it can break through this final wall. To do this, fortifications have been built on both sides of the canyon's walls, with high up bridges connecting them to one another. Each wall has four levels to it, each with their own supplies, siege weaponry and arrangement. Hunters are expected to go up and down these levels to access the tools they need to chip away at Sadicletius' armor and do major damage. As the barriers fall and the beast continues its march towards the final wall, hunters can use rails to follow it to the next section where they can continue their assault. Though the beast is slow and mostly unconcerned with the pests around it, bringing it down is by no means a simple task.
Sadicletius is coated by a thick shell of salt, which will absorb all damage as long as it is intact. If this cannot be shattered, then there is no hope in slaying the beast. Thus, it is important for hunters to use the siege weaponry to break these layers, targeting indicated weak points to slowly crack through the salt. However, cannons alone cannot do the job. Due to the strength and arrangement of this salt armor, various tools are going to be needed to successfully crack through each layer. At times, precise ballista shots will be needed to shatter specific nodes, while cannon fire will remove salt sheets covering certain spots. In some instances, the hunters will need to drop down atop the titan to strike areas hidden where siege weaponry cannot reach. Only through combined effort will each layer be broken off.
But this will not go down without complications, as the salt titan's mere presence will cause problems. Its many vents and spires release plumes and chunks of salt that will strike hunters and siege weapons. Each hit will slowly build up layers of salt, until the hunters are briefly immobilized or the weapons will become inoperable. When siege weapons are encrusted, pickaxes must be deployed to break the salt off so they can be used again. Be warned, the more salt that builds up on these weapons, the longer it will take to free them! So keeping an eye on your tools and clearing them when it starts to build up is key!
When a couple layers of salt armor are successfully removed, Sadicletius will begin to feel the effects of the attack and it will grow agitated. This is when it will start lashing out at the fortifications around it, smashing into the walls, breaking connective bridges and spewing geysers of salt. Hunters will face more threats and have to move their efforts to avoid these attacks. But the biggest threat comes in an insidious form. When Sadicletius is enraged, a crackle of energy can be seen deep within its shell, and suddenly its spires and vents will also start seeping out a choking gas. The yellow green mist is heavier than air and pools on the ground, but the vast quantities pumped out by this titan means it won't remain down there for long. If Sadicletius is not interrupted or staggered, this gas will continue to build and its levels will rise. Slowly, the noxious gas will begin to swallow layers of the canyon fortifications from the bottom up, rendering each one unusable, as any hunters caught in it for too long will faint. It is now crucial to destroy the salt spires and crack its armor to disrupt the gas production, giving time for the gas to leak away and for the cloud level to drop. If hunters do not work together and fast, than the whole canyon may be flooded and all will be lost. Workers on site, seeing this new threat, are able to cobble together a crude venting system to help shunt off gas. So in an emergency, a lever can be thrown that will remove a big portion of the gas cloud, perhaps enough to save a level currently being swamped. However, the design is crude and cobbled together, meaning it can only be used a limited amount of times and with diminishing returns. Be sure to save it when you need it!
As the salt is broken off, the cloud and armor will be weakened. However, this means less weight on its shoulders and thus it will begin to move faster in its efforts and attacks. The assault must be kept up to finally crack the last layer and reveal the true beast within. As the last pieces fall, Sadicletius will feel this relief and use its strength to shatter what salt remains. Now emerges its true form, crackling with potent electricity. Gone are the sluggish labored movements, as it is now free and fast. Hunters now take to the ground level to tackle the beast head on, as its new form will quickly destroy siege weapons used against it. Its powerful element and whip-like tail will prove to be deadly weapons, but if the hunters remain strong they will prevail!
