With Valhalla behind, I have some serious questions about what the Underworlds in Curse of the Pharaohs DLC were
Were they simple hallucinations? Or were there not unlike Yggdrasil, a simulation? And if so, were they a remains of Isu simulations, or something that humans repurposes for their own needs as they discovered the locations? I’d be really curious if it was the latter. Having the Valley of Kings as some kind of unclaimed experimental playground… That was adjusted to reflect local beliefs, would be fascinating. And it’s not like it would be THAT far-fetched – not when the pharaohs were shown to be using an Apple, and to apparent great success
But then, that begs the question: how were the people who were within the simulation, were accumulated? Were they actual imprints of living people, or were they, too, randomly generated simulations? I’m honestly leaning towards them being imprints of the living – but then, how would they have been collected? Were they people that were “in vicinity” of the priests of Amun who carried the apple?
And finally, how did Bayek manage to enter the simulation? Were they a physical manifestation, like a large-scale version of clones we see in Assassin’s Creed 1 & II? Or did Bayek get “knocked out” in the light tunnels, and experienced it all in his mind? (as is the case in Yggdrasil?)
Regardless of either I – it’s astounding how the system could have survived, and managed to replicate such intricate worlds. By comparison, the simulation in Valhalla is simplistic. Repetitive. Doesn’t show much aside the main building and some measure of fields outside of it. And the tech enabling that is *gigantic*
Nevermind the actual AU possibilities for the Field of Reeds/Duat/Heb Sed/Aten. I’m still surprised there are no stories in Origins tab of Ao3 that explore what could have happened to Bayek if he lost in any of said locations. The angst of being trapped in one of the simulations alone has – so much potential. I’ve already tagged the Nefertiti gifs with my tiny dark AU idea. But I shall repeat it here – imagine Bayek losing the fights and being trapped, eternally, as medjay serving any of these Pharaohs. Well, maybe not Akhenaten because that would be just too cruel to Bayek and his faith.

Ubisoft Hates Their Customers
I saw the trailer recently for Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, and I’m gonna be real with ya, the only thing that went through my head as I watched that was – oh look, a Ghost of Tsushima knock-off.  Which is what I thought the game was going to be anyway.  The ONLY reason that Ubisoft finally nutted up and made an AC game set in Japan is because of the success of Ghost of Tsushima.  They wanted to…

The furry fandom has its ups and downs but if there's one thing I will always love it for it's how freely we acknowledge and accept kinks.
To the point where we can make jokes and explore kink concepts in ways that aren't just p*rn.
In a world where Assassin's Creed: Valhalla's nudity option literally only allows for one nipple in the entire game, because nudity itself, even in a game filled with blood and death, is such a taboo concept to mainstream society.
Thus I do appreciate that we can freely talk about our interests, and our close friends casually share n*des. Not for any expectation of s*x or romantic involvement, just for the sake of "bro my boobs look so cool today check it out"

Hey, Steph!! I've been following your blog for like four-ish years now and thanks for everything you do! <3 Though on another note, do you any other fandoms you're into except for Sherlock and Good Omens?? Have a great day/night!!
Hi Nonny!!
Oh, gosh, I'm into SOOOOO many fandoms. I actually started out as a wee lass as a Sonic fan, and aside from Sherlock, it's the longest-running fandom I've been active in (I was a "well known" fic writer in my teens and a fan-artist) I kind of left the fandom because of school and never went back in.
But yeah, I talk quite a bit about my fandom fave things, but CURRENTLY I'm obsessed with Disco Elysium and Loki. Both series I've read a lot of fics recently for, enough that I'll probably put out lists for.
BUT, I am a fan of A LOT of things, including but not limited to these fandoms that I lurk on the sidelines in, in no particular order:
Red Dwarf
Detroit Become Human
Moon Knight
Loki Series
Disco Elysium
Kingdom Hearts
Skyrim
Dragon Age
Sonic the Hedgehog
Doctor Strange
Avatar Last Airbender
Fruits Basket
Ranma 1/2
Lilo and Stitch (mostly Stitch, I am OBSESSED)
Darkwing Duck
Assassin's Creed
As I said above, Sonic is one of my oldest fandoms. I was very active in the community in the 90's and 00's, and then I went to school and never really clicked with them after. I have a long-semi-abandoned fic series I wrote called The Metallic Touch based loosely off of Sonic SatAM and the Archie Comics with inspiration from the Fleetway Comics. I'd love to finish it one day. I have the entire series plotted out on paper.
Kingdom Hearts is my favourite video game series. I have bought entire-assed systems and consoles JUST to play the newest games. I love almost all of them, and will usually replay them the most if I'm just DONE playing a bad string of games.
Skyrim is my second-favourite game, which I've replayed 3 times and NEVER completed, LOL. I love it so much though. I've got over 300 hours clocked into my last playthrough back when I was unemployed. I'm overdue for a replay.
Assassin's Creed series is my third fave; I got into it when I got my PS4 and there was a sale on the new-gen games Origins and Odyssey, so I bought them and ADORED them. Then I bought Valhalla and loved it, it's currently the record holder for "most hours in a game (458hrs). I really like it a lot. Then when I signed up for PS Plus, almost all of the Ubisoft catalogue is on there for members, so I just plowed through all of the titles available. The only one I haven't played at this point is the original AC because it was never made available. Black Flag I think is my fave. I am one of the few, it seems, who is SUPER PUMPED for Shadows. I am sad it got pushed back but hoping that means it won't be buggy.
Other video games are more "I'm obsessed in the moment and then I adore aspects of the games and that's what I focus on". With Disco Elysium, for instance, I'm OBSESSED with the dynamic of the characters and the world building, so I need more and more (and Kim's voice is yummy, but we won't talk about that LOL). And it's more or less a Sherlock AU which really appealed to me in the end, I think. The narrative RPG was a different type of game for me, I liked that I could just... relax, you know? Dragon Age, I've only played Inquisition and haven't finished it, but again, it was about the characters for me. I love them. I want to replay that one and I want Veilguard.
Hmmm. I dunno why I went into all of that, LOL. I just felt like obsessing about whatever came to mind, hahah.
Seriously though, if you want me to go into any of my fandom things, PLEASE ASK. I LOVE talking about my obsessions, and no one in my real life really gets me, LOL. I just REALLY LOVE FANDOMS. I love being a part of them, and I love just... obsessing about them. They're my happy place.
I don't have much in my life that makes me happy, so I take what I can get :P

DesmondxHytham???
@fanworldbuildingfun and I had this idea where Desmond gets kicked into AC Valhalla’s timeline and he builds his own Brotherhood because he thought the Assassins didn’t exist by this time and it ends with his Brotherhood and Hytham’s bureau having some kind of turf war.
That could be our jumping point with Hytham being both annoyed and impressed by Desmond’s informants and recruits while Desmond is just under the misconception that Hytham might be some kind of proto-Assassin (which he is, the problem is Desmond doesn’t know about the whole Hidden Ones history since that was lost in time, hell, Amunet was only called a ‘proto-Assassin’ and isn’t even remembered as a founder by this point).
So, once Desmond is sure that his Assassins would be okay without him for a while and all of their bureaus are safe at the moment, he goes to Ravensthrope to check the competition.
What does he see?
An overworked lonely man who was nice to everyone and who looked at him with wary at first, only to show a friendly side once Desmond told him that Eivor sent him here (a lie) to help out.
Desmond starts helping out in Ravensthorpe, doing errands and hunting. Sometimes, he’d help bring deliveries from nearby settlements. Other times, he’s working as Randvi’s messenger for any settlement conflicts that arises.
In his free time, he checks up on Hytham.
At first, it was because of his Hidden Blade.
He had seen Eivor’s Hidden Blade and knew that she was wearing it wrong but he had assumed Eivor had gotten it from one of the Proto-Assassins or something.
But Hytham…
Hytham was the one who told him about the Hidden Ones.
About Alamut…
And, now that Desmond thought about it, it made sense that the Assassins didn’t just sprung up out of nowhere. They had to have come from somewhere.
A secret organization stationed mostly in Alamut would make sense, Desmond supposed.
Hell, he had been thinking of going to Alamut himself but that was mostly because there were memory seals in the Temple underneath that he could use to leave messages for Altaïr and maybe even the ‘next’ Desmond Miles.
But this…
This changes… well…
Not much, really.
Desmond has no plan to join the Hidden Ones. He has his own Brotherhood and they’re doing well on their own.
It sucked that they didn’t have Hidden Blades but being an Assassin was never about the Hidden Blade.
It was about the Creed.
And it seemed that the Hidden Ones also had the same Creed.
So…
Desmond stayed.
And he tells himself that he’s staying to learn more about the Hidden Ones.
Hytham stresses that he was not a mentor (“Yet.” Desmond adds, making Hytham chuckle and rub the back of his neck) so he cannot recruit Desmond but Desmond just waves it off, tells Hytham that he’s interested in the history and the traditions of the Hidden Ones.
And Hytham indulges him…
They have tea over it.
One time, Hytham showed him how to perform a leap of faith and it took all of Desmond’s willpower not to be a total showoff like Hytham was.
.
.
And then…
Eivor returned from her latest successful alliance and she sees Desmond in Ravensthorpe.
They talk and Desmond tries to tell her that he’s not here to sabotage Hytham’s bureau or whatever malicious plan Eivor believes he’s capable of.
Hell, the whole turf war between the Brotherhood and the Hidden Ones was started by a very gung-ho recruit and it’s not like Hytham had any other people in his corners other than Eivor and some informants.
It would be like pulling the pigtails of a girl peacefully making her sandcastle.
“I know we both have a list of people that should die and that’s not exactly peaceful, Eivor, I’m making a metaphor!”
But Desmond is good at making people do what he wants so Eivor just sighs and agrees not to say anything… for now.
If she even hears a hint of Desmond planning something nefarious against Hytham, she’d kick him out of Ravensthorpe herself.
And Desmond agrees.
.
.
So Eivor began to observe Desmond.
She tells Randvi that she’s doing it because she wants to make sure she did the right thing sending Desmond back to their home without her (and she wants to smack Desmond on the back of the head for making everyone believed she had invited him).
That’s when she noticed it.
What everyone in Ravensthorpe had noticed before.
Desmond and Hytham…
… were definitely acting more like a couple in the middle of courting one another than actual friends.
And that’s when Randvi told her that…
All of Ravensthorpe agreed not to say anything to either of them because watching them be oblivious to one another was more fun.
And Eivor…
… can’t help but agree to that.
