Hakim

Birthday: May, 7th

Appearance: Hakim has all the looks from his father including his blank expression, although he's nothing but a sweet boy. Hakim has a lot of respect for his parents, and not surprisingly, he’s a very kind and noble kid. For some reason, he doesn't like to start talks but to observe people which it is, perhaps, another trait he took after his father. He loves drawing and reading books with pictures what makes you and Alhaitham buy him a lot of art materials and encyclopedias. Even when he becomes a bit old for his age, Hakim likes to listen his father or you reading for him before he goes to bed.

Nicknames: Kim, Love (you), Son (Alhaitham).

Trivia: He likes cats but he's allergic to them.

Aryan & Isaar

Birthday: November, 26th

Appearance: They’re very identical twins which till this day it causes a lot of trouble for people to identify them. The twins are a mix from both parents, though Cyno’s genes are favored a little bit more as they share the same skin tone, the red-orange eyes and not unironically the stoic face. Aryan is the quiet one while Isaar can be more social what makes the perfect balance between brothers. They’re respectful, kind and honest, but not so easily to trick. Aryan can be more judging than Isaar, if he doesn’t like someone he won’t hide it. They’re good friends with Hakim and Zahra. Both of them are very affectionate towards you, but they enjoy to spend their time with their dad as well.

Kaedehara Kazumi

Birthday: March, 3rd 

Appearance: Kazumi is nothing more than a perfect replica of his father, Kazuha. The boy received all the samurai's characteristics, barely leaving anything for your own genes. What differentiates them is the charming beauty mark under your son's left eye, because even the calm and easygoing personality they share. Kazumi, however, tends to be mischievous and presumptuous which brings him troubles sometimes. Nonetheless, he's a loving and gentle kid; looking after his younger siblings, and listening and admiring you and Kazuha. 

Nicknames: Zumi, Son, Kazu, Zuzu (mostly Kiyomi when she wants to annoy him)

Kaedehara Kiyomi

Birthday: October, 17th 

Appearance: She definitely looks more like you, though Kazuha' characteristic features such as his crimson eyes and the red streak weren't left behind. However, your daughter is her own person as she is a very extroverted, charismatic and confident girl. She's pretty mischievous and she loves to play with Kazumi, but she can be very girly too as she adores quality times with you. She is a smart and strong type, not taking well to things she judges wrong. She deeply loves you and Kazuha, and cares for her brothers very well, mainly the youngest one.

Kaedehara Haruki

Birthday: September, 21st

Appearance: Haruki is a beautiful mix of you and Kazuha. He has the same pale skin tone as his father, but his eyes shine like two jewels just like yours. As he was born sick, he is smaller than children of his age. Haruki is also very close to you and Kazuha as he rarely leaves the house, but he also likes to be included in his older siblings’ playing. He’s a very shy and quiet boy, but he has a sweet and cute side that he only shows to his family and some acquaintances faces.

Zahra

Birthday: August, 13th

Appearance: Zahra definitely looks more like her father although her goldenish eyes remind her grandmother of her late husband. She’s a sweet, cheerful and a very friendly girl, being the extroverted one from all her friends. She’s curious and smart, preferring to play with puzzles and bricks over dolls. She absolutely loves her father and not surprisingly Kaveh is her favorite parent, although she loves you equally. Zahra has natural chubby and rosy cheeks and outsiders cannot help themselves but want to squeeze them — which it makes Kaveh go all overprotective. Overall, Zahra is a good girl and barely throw tantrums even being so pampered by her father or her rich aunt.

Corinne & Quentin

Birthday: December, 30th

Appearance: It's slightly noticeable their lilac-cat shaped eyes since they look so much like you. Even though Corinne and Quentin are identical twins, they've some physical differences if you take a close look, like Quentin being an inch taller than his sister or Corinne's cheeks being chubbier. Just like their father and aunt Lynette the twins share the same personality’ difference as well. Although Quentin isn't as energetic as Lyney, he's the friendly and talkative twin while his sister is calm and reserved. They don't have a favorite parent, they love you and Lyney equally. The twins grew up surrounded by magic tricks so they absolutely adore when Lyney comes up with a new one.

Appearance: She’s a very beautiful girl with the same white hair, draconian blue eyes and pointy ears as her father, but her facial features came from you. Éveline is a timid and soft-spoken girl and she tends to get easily nervous around unknown faces, hiding behind you or Neuvillette. She absolutely adores the Melusines and she gets along very well with Corinne. She's a little bit emotional but she knows she can run to you or her father if she gets overwhelmed by her own feelings. Éveline loves to cuddle with Neuvillette. As time pass by she starts to be outdoors by herself a little bit more, whether enjoying nature or playing with animals.

Appearance: Cameron is a carbon copy of his father, not only in his looks but their likes and mannerisms are exactly the same. He’s more collected and quiet than Wriothesley tho. However, his personality easily changes under your caring and affection being blushier and shy. He’s incredibly well-educated and respectful for his age treating everyone the same regardless of their background or crimes. He’s very intelligent and he loves to play puzzles or create things. For a long time Cameron was the only child but neither you nor Wriothesley had doubts about how he’d react with a new family addition as he had shown to be a loving big brother already.

Appearance: She’s 14 years younger than Cameron and she’s the cutest girl in the world according to her father and big brother. For some reason she's very small for her age, though she's a healthy and energetic girl. Marie is too precious and friendly for her own good so Wriothesley and Cameron feel like they cannot take their eyes off of her. You and your husband weren't trying to have a second kid, she came as a blessing that your family embraced with much joy.

I watched "The Man with 1000 Kids" documentary on netflix, and it's staunch refusal to engage with the white supremacist core of the issue is frankly astounding.

This Dutch guy went around the world donating sperm under different names, and the documentary followed mostly families from the netherlands that recieved sperm from him.

These families picked this man out of everyone else because of his blonde hair and blue eyes, paying thousands of dollars to have kids with those traits. Because yes, apparently you can shop for the whitest man when you need sperm.

This guy's nickname was Viking. He uploaded youtube videos about how white privilege is not real and how traditional living is superior in every way. His partners in crime did this in Kenya with him in order to, and i'm quoting, "bleach africa". This had 0 attention drawn to it.

White supremacy permeated every minute of this documentary, how clear was that this guy was obsessed with racial purity and wanted to spread his aryan genes though the world. And how clear it also was that the families had the exact same interests in keeping the purity of their genes.

The documentary mumbled something about the guy wanting to have a legacy through his youtube channel, and ended claiming it all ended well because he got forbidden from donating more sperm and all the affected families are now a big happy family. This was said while showing images of the children playing together in some playground in the netherlands, of course all white.

At first I could not believe not a single minute was given to discuss what was actually going on. But then I thought that if these families had to confront his real motivations, they would also have to confront how fucked shopping for the whitest kid is. And that would never happen of course, after all this was just one bad guy and not a symptom of a fucked up system and set of values.

If anything, it is a great look into the lengths the families, the mass donor, and the documentary creators will go to avoid any sort of introspection or challenge to their violently racist beliefs. But it all ended well, right?

Ok, so since today’s entry brought up the concept of “criminal types,” it is a good time to talk about the 19th century and phrenology.

When characters like Van Helsing, Dr. Seward, Jonathan and Mina refer to phrenology or the resultant criminology, it is supposed to show us as readers that they are scientifically literate and read up on the latest ideas. However, as modern readers, it is impossible to escape the awareness of how racist this science is.

For context, the 19th century is when a lot of what we would consider the “social sciences” began to emerge as fields of study. There was a desire, which increased across the century, to understand people and societies on a scientific level. And - importantly- there was the scientific desire to schematize humanity. This is when you see anthropologists creating hierarchies of distinct races, and this was in service of justifying colonialism. If Europeans from imperial powers were “superior” by virtue of physical and anthropological factors, then their domination and exploitation of the rest of the world was “natural.” Though it should be noted that at the time scientists were discussing the superiority of “Nordic”/”Aryan” races, which did not include large parts of Europe

Within that, there is the emergence of phrenology as a facet of physical anthropology. The general idea of phrenology is that features of the face and bumps on the skull can be read to know the traits of the person. It results in a whole subset of science that is interested in using calipers to measure parts of people’s faces and deciding whether their features indicated good or bad things about them. It also included deciding what the “typical” features of a ethnic group indicated about their culture and personalities.

I am going to put the rest under the read more because of some of the racist imagery. 

So, from this there are whole charts about what things mean. And they privilege typically Northern European features as more trustworthy and intelligent and good.

For example, you can imagine what groups of people this is describing:

Hooded eyes and hooked noses being deceitful. I don’t think I need to explain in detail who that paints as inherently untrustworthy.

And here is a class around the turn of the century learning about what nose shapes mean:

And this strain of science led to linking facial features to criminality. Scientists, prominently Lombroso, in prisons measures the features of inmates and from that created theories about how you could see if someone was born to be a criminal.

These “criminal types” fell into several categories but on the whole they were considered to be underdeveloped and thus selfish and self-serving. When the characters are describing the Count as one of these criminal types, it is meant to tell us that he is smart in some ways but also single-minded, selfish, and deceitful. This makes him more like a demanding child in a grown man’s body, and thus makes him unfit to live in society.

And let me be clear here, part of the idea of schematizing criminality in this way was to eliminate criminality via eugenics. If criminal types could be identified, they could be stopped from reproducing their criminal genes.

And if you look at this chart, you can get a sense of how this runs right into racism again:

Take note again of the darker features, hooded eyes and pronounced hooked nose. 

It should not escape your notice that the Count’s features are described as “not good features” and that they are more like those of these criminal types. The insistence of describing faces so often is all built into this same pseudoscience.

We know now, after some truly horrific things coming from eugenics and racist anthropology, that this is all pseudoscience. You cannot read personality from facial features. While there is still so much about people being “born criminals” in criminology, it does not usually imply that just having racial features makes it clear that someone was born to murder or steal.

And I must reiterate: The book thinks this is cutting edge science. We need to exercise our own critical thinking when we read these things from a modern perspective.

Gigi Young's claims that New Age is materially reductionist and will therefore lead to people willingly getting their genes modified through injections and whatnot and thus become "subhuman," is not unlike the anti-evolution rhetoric that if people hear that they're "just animals," they'll start acting "like animals" - IE, committing whatever violence and destruction they please.

It's such a wild flying leap, completely untethered from reality. Like yes, New Age is a bit more materialist than most forms of spirituality most of us are used to. But it's still highly spiritual and highly mystical, and New Agers are very much about this idea that we have this higher immortal self that transcends space and time.

The actual problem with New Age's relative materialism is that it's trying to be a model for the physical world around us, in ways that have actual consequences; for example, foregoing evidence-based medicine in favor of supposed vibrational healing modalities. This kind of thing gets people killed.

(Now just to be clear, I fully believe that many of these vibrational healing modalities can lower stress, which is absolutely beneficial if you're dealing with a serious health issue. If there's some "healing tone" or whatever that helps you feel better, by all means, keep listening to it. Just please don't get caught up in the anti-pharma/antivax BS along the way, because people die from that.)

And like, there is a lot to criticize about New Age's ideas about DNA and genetics. For example, there's the belief that having certain genes can make you a fundamentally evil person, or make you incapable of connecting with God. That's actual shit that some of these people believe, and it's utterly vile. There's the belief that practicing New Agers are more genetically evolved than non-New Agers, which is basically just a way of saying "my spirituality makes me better than you." There's the belief that some hold that at some point, everybody who isn't a New Ager is going to straight up die. I mean, they don't say it like that - they couch it in euphemisms like "everyone who is incompatible with the new frequency will be cleansed from the timeline." The awful shit they couch in pretty-sounding euphemisms is well worth criticizing.

The problem with Gigi Young is that she's not actually anti-eugenics. She's a conspiracy theorist who claims that an global satanic cult is actively practicing dysgenics on the population, and that we must be wary of them to protect our natural good genes. That's also a form of eugenics. Gigi Young is using the same kind of rhetoric as Nazis who claim that Jews are weakening the Aryan race by encouraging race mixing.

So I think yes.

To me, the whole point about purebloods obsessing about their blood status is that it makes no real difference - in fact, it's probably way better to expand the gene pool - as Ron points out. The discriminating against muggle-borns is baseless. In fact, in the canon it's made clear by multiple characters that purebloods have no reason to think themselves superiour. If we add powers related to the bloodlines, it's like giving the purebloods a reason to be right. The aryan race stuff was just BS, and so is the belief that being pureblood makes you better.

I feel equally strongly about Remus having any special powers related to his condition. Yes we know Bill likes his steaks rare now, let's leave it at that please. Remus' condition is meant to be a metaphor for HIV / conditions that significantly affect your quality of life and importantly, your social and economic standing. Giving him some benefits just makes me feel sick. Being unwell is not a superpower, but what is a superpower is the strength to keep going (to the ability people can <3).

In fact, I don't even like it when the discrimination against him is downplayed. It's probably the most important reason why I don't like casanova Remus. Remus' confidence and life quality is significantly impacted by the prejudices against werewolves. In canon, he never let himself fall in love (until he was forced together with Tonks due to proximity) because he is a werewolf. This man would not go around making out/having sex with people left, right and centre. This man would not be surrounded by a whole cohort of people who knew he was a werewolf but didn't care. People didn't know because he kept it a secret and because the idea that there was a werewolf at school would have been preposterous. He wouldn't be popular - Remus wouldn't want that attention on him.

Remus was desperately dependent on the Marauders because they figured out what he was despite his best attempts to hide it (because the four were extremely close and James and Sirius were exceptionally bright). Remus knew how lucky and unusual it was that they stuck with him; and worked to make his transformations bearable - and fun even.

Adding magic powers to bloodlines - downplaying Remus' condition - these things takes away from some of the more serious discussions this series attempts to have with its readers. In my view.

Griffin Sylvane:

- grew up on the planet Erebhus in the Andros solar system. The planet is swampy land with lots of water bodies all over that catch and reflect light even throughout the night.

- her hair can change color naturally (bc of Erebhusian genes) depending on how much sunlight she's exposed to, which is the reason why her hair was a lighter shade of purple when she was young but grew darker once she became headmistress of CT because of the limited sunlight around the castle. (Darcy's hair also changes from dark brown to blond for the same reason since I headcanon her to be Griffin and Valtor's daughter.)

- the golden eyes are also an Erebhusian gene.

- her mother - Emalyn - was a very powerful witch that studied at CT herself. She chose to become a housewife, however, and would do freelance work on translating and restoring ancient spells from home. Griffin learned most of what she knows about magic and about botany from her.

- her father - Aryan - had scarce formal education but knew how pretty much anything worked and could build and fix an unlimited number of things.

- Griffin went to boarding school on Erebhus until it was time to go to CT. After that she's only returned home briefly for summer breaks and post-graduation only on several occasions, including her father's funeral. He died (from stress) when she was 20-something and she felt guilty for adding on to his worries with her reckless and ruthless pursuit of her goals (of helping dark magic users against their oppression).

- she met Valtor in a secret library on Erebhus and his power convinced her to join him since she was getting frustrated with how long it was taking her to accomplish her goals, especially after what she believed she had to sacrifice for them.

(I'm gonna skip the whole Coven/Company era because I've talked about that a lot and I am still unclear on certain specifics.)

- post Domino's fall she joined the CT faculty after an extremely hasty process of getting credentials. She managed that with ease but she was depressed and feeling that survivor's guilt so her heart wasn't in it when she announced her candidacy for the post of headmistress. She was doing it to keep CT out of the Council's hands, who would otherwise hire their own pawn and control the most prominent school for witches.

- she won the election with significant support from important political figures such as Faragonda's mother and, surprising everyone, Erendor (who was feeling guilty for betraying his alliance with Domino to save his own skin and thus felt it his duty to help out those who were there and fought - including Griffin).

Faragonda Lydiriev:

- was born on a(n unnamed as of yet) planet from the Zenith solar system.

- her parents weren't married and she rarely got to see her father even when she was little.

- her mother - Sylvia - is a very powerful witch and her political influence is greater than that of the monarch of their planet.

- Faragonda has Spherian heritage. Her ancestors were the witches of Spheria (a place mentioned in s2 4kids (in 2x11)) who practiced the vilest of black magic. That is to say magic that was powered by negative emotions (like dark magic) but twisted things out of their natural order and is forbidden. (Just fyi white magic - powered by positive emotions but still twisting things out of their natural order - is also forbidden.)

- Faragonda's magic was powerful from a very early age but she had a lot of trouble controlling it. She was always accidentally destroying things or harming others.

- her mother sent her away to boarding school where she met Griffin and gradually she started staying with Griffin's family even over the holidays. They were the only ones who didn't treat her like something was wrong with her. Emalyn even gave her helpful tips on controlling her magic by balancing out her negative emotions with positive ones but she was refusing to use that method since she felt that it would disappoint her mother and reflect badly on their family name.

- she enrolled in CT along with Griffin and studied there for the first semester until it became glaringly obvious that dark magic just wasn't the thing for her.

- she transferred to Alfea when she chose to become a fairy. Her mother disowned her for it and her new classmates had opinions about a witch deciding to be a fairy but she was lucky to be roommates with Griselda in whom she found a new friend.

- her friendship with Griffin also suffered some by the change in her but they remained close until graduation when Griffin fell off the face of the Magic Dimension. Faragonda was hurt but decided that she'd rather keep their good memories than hunt down Griffin only to be rejected.

- she focused on her work on the fairy animal park (she was always an animal person) outside Magix City and on further studies and a career in Alfea. The idea was to eventually head the college and work on improving relations between dark and light magic users in general.

- that was until headmistress Mavilla (of Alfea) asked her to assist the Crown Princess of Domino on a diplomatic mission and Faragonda found herself face to face with Griffin... and the Coven.

- she was pissed that Mavilla had not told her of this because she figured it was all set up this way to use her against Griffin. Still, she decided to join Marion and Oritel's fight with the idea of helping Griffin and protecting her from execution. Plus, as time went on, she was convinced that the fight with the Coven matters more than anything else she could be doing currently.

- she does not remember this because she took a forgetting potion (*insert OUAT gif here*) on Griffin's ardent plea but she was the one who helped Griffin hide her pregnancy. They used an ancient Spherian curse to speed up the pregnancy (the original intended purpose of the curse was for it to allow the witch to collect the child that she was promised as payment for her services). Combined with Valtor's genetic material in Darcy, it almost killed her and Griffin but Faragonda literally used her life force to save them, which made her age somewhat faster than normal. Then Faragonda left Darcy in an orphanage on Erebhus and took the forgetting potion, leaving Griffin the only one to know that there ever was a baby (aside from the Ancestral Witches).

- started dating Hagen only after Griffin joined the Company because she was too focused on the situation with her to think about anything else beforehand.

- became headmistress of Alfea almost immediately after the last battle on Domino when Mavilla retired. She endorsed Faragonda as the new head of Alfea because of her political prowess (picked up both from her mother and Marion) that would allow her to maneuver the current circumstances better than any other member of the faculty.

- her mother, who helped a couple times against the Coven, showed up in person to ask Faragonda not to take the position of headmistress of Alfea but Faragonda told her off.

- she went through a heavy depressive episode herself after the last battle on Domino. She felt like she was too broken to really be a support to any of her friends and mostly felt like she could no longer be the person to brighten Griffin and Hagen's lives so she figured that it makes sense that Hagen left. Still, that hurt her even further to the point where she was stubbornly avoiding any mention of Hagen in an attempt to bury the pain deep down. She did the same with her pain over Marion and Oritel and stopped looking for any traces of them because she was afraid of what they'd find and how much worse that could break her. It was Griffin's relentless search of the truth about what happened on Domino that rekindled her hope of finding their friends but due to outside interference, they lost access to all clues as to what happened on Domino and were forced to give up on their mission to find Marion and Oritel and move on with their lives.

- eventually, she makes up with her mother who admits that she was wrong about the way she treated Faragonda. She didn't really know how to help her gain control of her magic, which is why she sent her away to people, who hopefully would know, but in Faragonda it created the sense that she was a disappointment and a failure and the entire relationship fell apart from there. Still, Sylvia was the adult and it was her responsibility to figure parenting out, which she failed. She is ecstatic when Griffin and Faragonda finally get together and she helps Faragonda through the realization that Darcy is Griffin's daughter from Valtor (that's when they make up).

Hagen:

- comes from the same planet as Oritel. In fact, his father used to work as the royal blacksmith and he's been best friends with Oritel since they were little.

- his mother made pottery and was the one of his parents who was quite direct and even brash when talking to someone else. His father was one to use flowery language and tons of metaphors in every day conversation.

- he studied to be a blacksmith under his father but went to work for Marion's parents instead of Oritel's because Marion won him over with her attitude and views.

- he would not go home in order to nudge Oritel to come visit him and set up meetings with Marion. He knew that they only did not like each other because of wrong first impressions and set out to bring them closer and help them reveal their true self to the other. Not entirely out of selflessness as having his two best friends living on different planets was quite exhausting.

- he never meant to be a warrior. He only studied combat in order to be able to test the weapons that he made himself. He was always more passionate about the craft of metalworking but when Marion and Oritel grew restless because of the Coven's activity, he put his life on hold to help them.

- that was until he met Faragonda and realized that he could die any day without having pursued what he himself really wants. Still, his commitment to Marion and Oritel was too strong for him to fully devote himself to his relationship with Faragonda and when the political circus and legal procedures around Domino's destruction settled, he left to go search for Marion and Oritel.

- he didn't even show up at either of his parents' funerals, feeling like the part of him that was their son had long ceased to exist. It wasn't because he knew Faragonda would be there (he introduced her to his parents during the war when they both accepted the idea that anything could happen to them and saving the development of their relationship for peaceful times was not a risk they wanted to take; both his parents loved her and she felt that she could be a part of their family but she only went to Hagen's mother's funeral because she wanted to see him; she later figured that he may not have shown up because he knew she'd be there and she didn't go to his father's funeral to give Hagen the chance to go if he wanted but he didn't). Still, avoiding her was another point in favor of not going since he felt guilty about the way that he left her to deal with the loss of their friends even though he did it so that he wouldn't drag her down with him when he couldn't let go.

- he tried to hide it from his friends once they were reunited but his returns to Domino's cursed ruins ended up with him falling victim of a curse that renders him unable to feel any kind of touch and/or pain. Everyone learned when Bloom accidentally burned him and he didn't even notice. Normally, magic can't fix tissue damage (even if it is caused by magic) but Griffin's magic allows some healing to take place as long as the other person opens up their mind and body to her willingly. Not the easiest of tasks since she and Hagen were never particularly close but they manage to make some progress and Hagen can finally feel the warmth of his friends again.

- after he learns that Marion chose to join Oritel in his imprisonment, Hagen got extremely upset, which forced him to reevaluate his feelings for and his commitment to them. He'd always put them first to the point where he ignored himself, which is the reason why he refused to be reinstated as their counselor.

- he chose to restore the Magic School for Forgers in Hoggar (which is NOT the planet that he comes from; fuck canon/Wiki) instead and teach there.

Oritel:

- youngest out of six brothers and therefore not of interest to his parents since his chances for inheriting the throne were practically non-existent.

- doesn't have a very good relationship with his brothers, who tend to ignore him similarly to their parents.

- he has magic but thanks to his parents' neglect he never really got proper magical education and training how to use it. His raw power is actually quite impressive, considering how little practice he had to develop it. His magical core is underground waters.

- hated Marion for "stealing" his best friend but with time fell in love with her.

- he knows that Marion went against her parents' wishes and societal expectations to marry him and it makes him feel like he's detrimental to her. Marrying him was her first decision as heir to Domino's throne that the whole universe witnessed and it was one that left people looking down on her for the choice. Those that respect it only do so because of her heritage, not out of respect for her.

- he compensates for feeling like he's dragging her down by being a perfectionist and a - self-proclaimed - paragon of virtue. He tends to easily veer into self-righteous territory because of all the pressure on him as Prince Consort of Domino (yeah, that's right, no kings of Domino in this fucking household).

- is close friends with Erendor despite the age difference between them (Erendor is at least a decade younger than him) since he knows what it's like to be young and not taken seriously. There are extreme homoerotic undertones to that relationship that Oritel is completely oblivious to, Erendor is too blinded by internalized homophobia and toxic masculinity to notice and Marion and Samara pointedly ignore although for different reasons.

- after the Coven attacked Domino, killed Marion's parents and damaged the Roc - which was part of Domino's defense systems - Oritel used his magic in combination with the Dragon Fire in the core of Domino (thanks to his close connection to Marion and Daphne and their pieces of the flame) to raise a shield around the whole planet that would stop unauthorized teleportation. He and Marion also repurposed the Roc - repaired by Hagen - as a library to keep safe Domino's magical archives.

(...aaaaaand that's pretty much it for Oritel; I need to think about him more but I haven't gotten to that point yet.)

Marion:

- has a younger sister (based on the family tree fake!Avalon showed Bloom).

- very strained relationship with her mother and an almost non-existent relationship with her father. She's not close with her sister either since their mother didn't have a lot of interest in her Dragon-Fire-less child and Marion never had free time with all the grooming to be the next Queen of Domino.

- resigned to a loveless marriage since young age only to slowly fall in love with Oritel and decide to fight for her own happiness. Was engaged to someone else before but she broke it off and married Oritel.

- had horrible doubts about becoming a mother due to her own relationships with her parents and the way she was raised. Still, Daphne instantly became the light of her life.

- Marion was tutored at home but she allowed Daphne to do specialized studies at Alfea, much to Marion's own mother's chagrin. She always believed that Marion was raising Daphne wrong and allowing her to mingle with the nobodies at Alfea was just further proof.

- Marion was the one who started noticing the pattern of concerning magical thefts all over the dimension. Her mother did not pay attention to her worries but Oritel supported her and the two decided to take matters in their own hands. The Coven was very successful in turning that against them and making them as well as Domino look suspicious in front of many of the other monarchs. They only really managed to start getting the upper hand once Faragonda and Saladin joined them.

- the death of her parents is an awful time for her because she had a lot of negative emotions to deal with (mostly guilt and self-hatred for not really feeling much about her deceased parents rather than the typical grief and melancholy but that wasn't any easier to handle) and a ton of bureaucratic nonsense that she was stuck with instead of fighting the Coven. The only thing that saved her sanity was trusting the other Company members to hold the front while she was assuming her new queenly duties.

- was suspicious of Griffin's sudden and untimely decision to defect from the Coven but was also interested in exploiting the opportunities that could provide (unlike Oritel). Did not appreciate the realization of how much Faragonda's presence has shaken Hagen's loyalty to her and Oritel and how it twists her arm into respecting Faragonda's - unreasonable - demands. They all had to do a lot of work on functioning as a team but eventually succeeded.

- had a panic attack when she learned she was pregnant again. The timing was awful. Not only was her whole planet under vicious attack, but she was also the Company's strongest fighter. A pregnancy would incapacitate her for months on end and provide the Coven with significant advantage. She was out of her mind with worry over the complications this would create for the whole universe.

- late one night when she couldn't sleep, she instinctively found Griffin and confessed that she was considering having an abortion. She knew she could count on Griffin's cold rationality to give her the push to do what she couldn't make herself do but she was surprised when Griffin vehemently defended her right to choose and encouraged her to do what is best for herself. She decided to keep the baby because she'd already sacrificed so much of herself and her own life for the sake of her kingdom. Besides, she didn't want to give into her fear of being unable to protect her children from the Coven.

- speaking of, Daphne was insistent on being included in the battle with her own Dragon Fire and her Nymph powers. Marion was firmly against, dead set on protecting Daphne and keeping her as far away from the fight as possible. She and Griffin got into a fight about that once when Griffin allowed Daphne to accompany her on a minor mission. Ultimately, Griffin's point that Marion was letting her fears control not just her, but Daphne as well got through to her and Marion allowed Daphne to be included in the planning but mostly on the periphery of the action. Daphne's most prominent role in the war was her task during the final battle to protect her baby sister.

- Marion knew there was a possibility that the information they were given was incorrect and that their daughters were alive out there, yet she still chose to transfer her spirit into Oritel's sword. She didn't have time to truly think through her decision and she couldn't bear the thought of staying behind only to find out that her daughters were truly dead and she'd lost Oritel as well. She feels intense guilt for essentially abandoning her girls.

Saladin:

- has a sister (Helia is his nephew since Saladin never felt ready to pursue romantic relationships after the war with the Coven). The two are relatively close and Saladin loves Helia like his own child.

- he did two-time Griffin and Faragonda. The two were both reluctant about sharing that they were dating a certain Specialist because of the turbulence in their own relationship at the time thanks to Faragonda transferring to Alfea. So for a time, he got away with it. His intention was never to hurt either one of them. He preferred being with Faragonda but he could tell that she was going through a lot and didn't want to rush her into a relationship. At the same time Griffin really understood his commitment to a cause (he signed up for RF because he believed in fighting for a better future) and they were already "dating". It was casual anyway so why should he have to break up with her when he's not really cheating with Faragonda, right? It was... quite the fallout when the truth came out but Griffin and Faragonda were also somewhat relieved to learn they were dating the same guy because they both chose to interpret it as proof of their continued similarities despite the recent changes in Faragonda and their relationship. Plus, Saladin was last year at RF at the time and later he was busy on missions all over the dimension so the distance from him helped them both get over the fiasco.

- Saladin was sent along with Faragonda on the diplomatic mission to help out Marion and Oritel. Mavilla mostly arranged his presence as cover for her true intentions of orchestrating the meeting between Griffin and Faragonda (not that that deceived Faragonda for long). Still, he took to Marion and Oritel's cause and decided to help them out as much as he could while maintaining his career at RF. He had reservations about Faragonda's trust in and protection of Griffin but he chose to support her. He didn't have her blind faith in Griffin but knew enough to understand why that was so important to Faragonda and to agree that there was still hope for Griffin to make the right choices. Plus, he still felt bad for two-timing them and wanted to help them both with whatever he could.

- splitting time between RF and the CoL made him feel like he was failing in both of his missions but both felt too important for him to be able to give up on either. The Company afforded him the opportunity to act in situations in which the Specialists would not be allowed to due to concerns of political nature. Having Marion and Oritel's influence to fall back on provides him with a lot more opportunities to help, however, and he really believed in what they were doing.

- Saladin was the one to find out that the headmaster of RF allied with the Coven. He saved one of the wands of the Ancestral Fairies (s6) from destruction and with the endorsement of Domino and Eraklyon was elected the next head of RF (which only complicated his work with the Company further but it was preferable to having to worry about whether or not the head of RF is corrupt and working for the Coven).

- he was the first to recover from the losses that they suffered during the final battle on Domino. He was scarred by losing their friends just like everyone else and he had survivor's guilt and intense feelings of failure as well but he also had a purpose to return to. All that time he was holding on to his role at RF because he knew that even if the war with the Coven was won, it wouldn't be the last one. The dimension would still need protection from new rising threats and he could continue working on being the defense. He also helped Griffin and Faragonda's recovery immensely.

ayran is so freaking good despite its simplicity, a lot of people turn around at the concept of “yogurt drink with water and salt” but generally are okay with yogurt with fruit and chocolate etc etc (fro yo). like. i don’t even like yogurt. at all. /serious. but by GOD is yogurt amazing in some other contexts, such as the aforementioned ayran. really it benefits from its simplicity; you need three ingredients and a blender (if that) and boom. delicious drink. like yeah if the water and yogurt separate or the salt isn’t fully incorporated it is rather nasty, yes. however, when executed correctly, it is honestly one of my favorite drinks (i especially like how my dad makes it when he makes it good). there’s also this stone light variety, i forget what it’s called, but they put cocaine inside of it i swear. the sodium in it is OFF THE FREAKING CHARTS but oh my GOD it is so good. so freaking good. like coca colas creator WISHES the coca leaves he put in his drink has that kind of effect on people. yogurt soup is also another thing that sounds horrible on paper, but, when done right (which most people do), it is indescribably amazing. like. yogurt. eggs. flour. salt. mint (not plant form). rice. butter. sounds abominable. but, at least personally, when you make the consistency generously thick and add a large amount of rice and salt. god. it makes a persons day. i will give you the recipes to both if you are interested. it’s worth it. god. i don’t know how to rant about fandom but give me turkish food and i will talk forever. some mutated part of me hates yogurt but the TURKISH GENES are benevolently sipping on the soup and the drink. unrelated but döner and shish kebabs are like THE most stereotypical turkish food (other than turkish delight, damn you narnia [fun fact, in turkish they are called “lokum,” not the translation of turkish delight]) but god they are so good. on another unrelated note i am picky as HELL but next time go to a turkish barbecue proper o should get some grilled vegetables (other than eggplant, vile vegetable).

I tried Aryan once and I genuinely enjoyed it! :D I didn't get it anymore after mainly because restaurants had my favorite soft drinks on the menu and I would never pass up on those hdgsjs but Aryan does taste good even if it's a lil weird lol. Do you think the Aryan Invasion Theory is true? I watching Mahabharata (star plus) and they kept using Aryavarta which reminded me of the Aryan race that Hilter used and so I did a little research and obviously he had no idea what he was talking about but what I found on the theory was a bit unsettling. I always believed that Hinduism/Sanskrit/Vedas originated in India (Indus Valley) but this theory seems to have genetic research to support it and it set off my whole belief system and gave me an identity crisis for some reason

Well, I am not really big on this theory because it has zilch proof to it as far as I have seen, only theories.

A simplified take on the same is the Indian Express article on Rakhigarhi excavation.

Other than that, there was this lengthy India Today article on the same excavation that gave me a headache because it won’t go to the fucking point, but I suppose it is in favour of the theory? I don’t know man, it’s fucking long and I did not read it all, just understood that IVC people from 4500 were native and that apparently we have outsider DNA.

There is no proof of any migration other than those based on change in genetic make up, a more plausible theory of which I explain later.

The interesting thing is, that the said Aryan invasion Theory first pinned us to be central asians from 1500BC and now we are Iranian farmers. It completely ignores the fact that Indians have little genes in common with Europeans who we supposedly come from moreso with South Indians (and I mean much more, we have almost the same gene combination except a few), and seems as if the India today article, based on the same premise of “Aryans had this one gene (r1 to be more specific) common with Iranians that Indus people did not have” fails to realise that people from the northwest of Indian subcontinent can have common genes with the bordering land for other reasons aswell because no shit sherlock, people fuck💀

I mean, how else do you explain the much higher genetic connection to south indians?

Another factor they use for the theory is the simultaneous developement of modern day Hinduism and Zorastrianism, but that too can be chalked upto influence rather than migration, given that Hinduism is actually older by a little margin (oldest living religion) and for the theory to be true, the migration should have gone westward instead.

Heck, the influence thing can easily exclude the theory altogther, because Iran is close to what are now the areas of IVC, and them slowly influencing the culture during or after IVC when they became more civil, (in 4000BC) or us doing the same, or even intermixing of the two will make more sense than AIT.

The migration of these Aryans cannot be proven otherwise aswell because there lies no proof for same. Literally none. The archeologist in the India today article and few others uphold it yet are unable to prove it beyond circumstantial evidence that makes more sense when turned against the theory rather than its favour, like the Iranian thing I mentioned. It might also very well be a migration to eastwards in Hind from the western part, because the Vedas were written before the supposed “Vedic Aryan invaders” happened and they are clearly neither Monotheistic nor Tribal, and align more with the Indic religions, so I digress they came from Central Asia or Iran.

Plus, the Vedas were written by the "aryans" on banks of saraswati, and the saraswati dried up centuries before they "destroyed IVC and took over". Another interesting thing is that Saraswati flew through the IVC sooooo.... yeah, maybe it all can be summed up to people fucking🫠

The thing is, we are locals, this culture was very much developed here on this land. Vedas, Sanskrit, Sanatan, there is a reason you do not see traces of them elsewhere, and I am certain this theory is BS because of the little I have read, because it has nothing to prove for itself.

But other than that, this particular subject was never of my interest because of how lengthy it was, and I fucking sucked at history, so may I suggest asking others who do think of this topic as often.
