The WIP for my oc has pretty much all that, plus a bit of the supernatural/preternatural. IDK if I'll ever get back to writing more of it. So far, I have a preface and chapter one....
Tagged by @adorothe ♥️
Rules: Bold the themes in your WIP, italicize those loosely covered, and tag 10 people
I don't write stuff currently and it's also somehow hard for me to define which themes my art has, since it's mostly just random people in exquisite poses or some fanart, so I think I'll describe what my recently written poetry pieces have.
addiction | beauty | betrayal | change vs. tradition | chaos vs. order | circle of life | coming of age | communication | convention vs. rebellion | corruption | courage | crime and law | dangers of ignorance (note: in an indirect sense) | darkness and light | death | desire to escape | dreams | displacement | empowerment | facing darkness | facing reality | faith vs. doubt | fall from grace | fame and fortune | family | fate | fear | fear of failure | free will | friendship | fulfillment | good vs. bad | government | greed | guilt and forgiveness | hard work | heroism | hierarchy | honesty | hope | identity crisis | immortality | independence | individual vs. society | inner vs. outer strength | innocence | injustice | isolation | knowledge vs. ignorance | life | loneliness | lost love | love | man vs. nature | manipulation | materialism | motherhood | nature | nature vs. nurture | oppression | optimism | peer pressure | poverty | power | power of words | prejudice | pride | progress | quest | racism | rebirth | relationships | religion | responsibility | revenge | sacrifice | secrets | self-awareness | self-preservation | self-reliance | sexuality | social class structure | survival | technology | temptation and destruction | time | totalitarianism | weakness | vanity | war | wealth | wisdom of experience | youth
I don't really communicate with people here nowadays so Idk many creators, but I tag @oya-oya-okay, @i-n-e-a, @abybweisse and surely I'd tag @nighttime-tea-party but u were already tagged, madamn numpfty hehehehehe
Love ya all, le buns that follow me, pliz feel free to join! 🤍

Apr 25 - leg still making it difficult to do any cleaning, since bending is ow and squatting is a hard no thank you. So most exciting thing I've dealt with today is trying to get the kitchen sink drains unclogged (hooray for liquid plumber).
For supper I made a pot of calrose rice and we had that with some leftover homemade moussaka from the freezer, and cucumber slices.

they have a point though. you wouldn't need everyone to accommodate you if you just lost weight, but you're too lazy to stick to a healthy diet and exercise. it's that simple. I'd like to see you back up your claims, but you have no proof. you have got to stop lying to yourselves and face the facts
Must I go through this again? Fine. FINE. You guys are working my nerves today. You want to talk about facing the facts? Let's face the fucking facts.
In 2022, the US market cap of the weight loss industry was $75 billion [1, 3]. In 2021, the global market cap of the weight loss industry was estimated at $224.27 billion [2].
In 2020, the market shrunk by about 25%, but rebounded and then some since then [1, 3] By 2030, the global weight loss industry is expected to be valued at $405.4 billion [2]. If diets really worked, this industry would fall overnight.

Over 50 years of research conclusively demonstrates that virtually everyone who intentionally loses weight by manipulating their eating and exercise habits will regain the weight they lost within 3-5 years. And 75% will actually regain more weight than they lost [4].

The annual odds of a fat person attaining a so-called “normal” weight and maintaining that for 5 years is approximately 1 in 1000 [5].

Doctors became so desperate that they resorted to amputating parts of the digestive tract (bariatric surgery) in the hopes that it might finally result in long-term weight-loss. Except that doesn’t work either. [6] And it turns out it causes death [7], addiction [8], malnutrition [9], and suicide [7].

Studies have observed that about 30% of so-called “normal weight” people are “unhealthy” whereas about 50% of so-called “overweight” people are “healthy”. Thus, using the BMI as an indicator of health results in the misclassification of some 75 million people in the United States alone [20].

While epidemiologists use BMI to calculate national obesity rates (nearly 35% for adults and 18% for kids), the distinctions can be arbitrary. In 1998, the National Institutes of Health lowered the overweight threshold from 27.8 to 25—branding roughly 29 million Americans as fat overnight—to match international guidelines. But critics noted that those guidelines were drafted in part by the International Obesity Task Force, whose two principal funders were companies making weight loss drugs [21].

"Born into Hope Amidst Destruction: Abdullah's Journey from Gaza"
Hello, I am little prince Abdullah, and I am a six-month-old baby from Gaza. I was born into extremely difficult circumstances amidst war and destruction. Let me tell you my story from the beginning.
Daddy, Mahmoud, is a young dentist, 25 years old. Mom, Abeer, is also a dentist, and they were eagerly awaiting my arrival (their little prince as they called me), dreaming of a bright future for me.
My parents got married and moved into a new home, spending two joyful months there before everything changed drastically on October 7, 2023, when the war in Gaza began. Our home, and the clinic were all destroyed in an instant. They had to flee with only a few clothes, having nowhere else to go. The place that was supposed to be filled with love and laughter turned into rubble and ash.
Mom endured her pregnancy amidst the war, without enough food, water, or medicine. As I grew inside her, I could feel the stress and fear that surrounded us. Mom often went without proper nourishment, sacrificing her own well-being to ensure that I had a chance to come into this world. Every night, she would cradle her belly, whispering prayers and promises of a better life, even as bombs fell around us. She dreamed of holding me in a safe place, free from the horrors of war, where I could grow up surrounded by love and peace.
Despite the chaos, dad and mom clung to the hope that I would be a symbol of a brighter future. They imagined my first smile, my first tooth, my first steps, my first words, and the joy of seeing me grow up in a home filled with laughter. But the reality was far from those dreams. Mom faced countless sleepless nights, worrying if she could bring me safely into a world that seemed determined to tear us apart.
When the time came for me to be born (6th, Apr.2024), there were no hospitals with clean beds, no doctors ready to ensure my safe arrival. My parents faced this moment with courage and a deep, unyielding love, praying that I would be born healthy despite the dire conditions. Each day inside my mom's womb, I felt her love and fear. I heard her heart beat fast when explosions echoed nearby, and I felt her tears when she thought about the uncertain future we faced. She whispered to me that I was her miracle, her reason to keep fighting, and she promised to do everything in her power to give me a life worth living.
Now that I am six months old, my parents continue to face immense challenges. I have spent my first six months of life in a world of uncertainty and hardship. There are days when my parents struggle to find enough food and clean water for us. They do their best to keep me safe and healthy, but the lack of proper medical care and basic necessities makes every day a battle.
My parents' love and determination are unwavering. They look at me with a mix of love and desperation, knowing they are unable to provide the comfort and security every baby deserves. Each day is a struggle for survival, and the joy of my birth is constantly overshadowed by fear and uncertainty. They dream of a world where I can play safely, have a warm bed to sleep in, and grow up healthy and happy. Instead, they face the harsh reality of war, where every moment is filled with anxiety and the haunting thought of what tomorrow might bring. Their only wish is to see me smile, free from the burdens that weigh so heavily on their hearts.
Here is daddy's account telling his own story: @mah99moud
The pressures and burdens on our family continue to grow, so my parents decided to turn to the GoFundMe platform, seeking help from kind-hearted people around the world.
Your generosity can turn our darkest days into a beacon of hope. Please consider helping us rebuild our lives and give me a chance to experience the childhood every child deserves, and help my parents rebuild their lives. Please, help us restore hope for a better tomorrow and give me a chance to grow up in a world where dreams are possible, not destroyed. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in our lives.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

The Seven-Step Homestead
The Seven-Step Homestead contains seven annual steps to making yourself and your family less dependent on expensive grocery stories by growing, and later raising, your own food. We are not talking about a full-blown farm with pigs and cows. However eventually, if you follow the plan, you will have fun, eat the ultimate in locally grown produce, and save some money. Beginning with a simple one or…

For people still in denial whether Israel has committed war crimes, here is a comprehensive list of war crimes Israel has committed both before and after Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, the list being taken from the Wikipedia article of war crimes with some notable missing examples being the usage of chemical weapons, famine, disease and apartheid. Security at the door confiscated all my Sharpies because the venue is a historic site, and they do that to help minimize people tagging the walls, etc.
Got to give a t shirt (that I had commissioned through an Etsy shop last year) to Gary via the guy at his merch booth. Hope the dude actually gave it to him. Hope Gary actually likes the shirt.
Met people in the waiting line who were pretty cool, especially Johnny, which I'll explain in a moment. Johnny and another dude held a spot for me at the stage when I got down there from buying merch and a drink. Ended up right at the stage in a perfect spot for singers and musicians to come up right to the edge. A third guy got me (and a friend of his) free drinks because he somehow ended up with free drink tokens.
Front Line Assembly was fun... and funny. One of them had "San Antonio" written down but he still accidentally called us "El Paso". 😆 They did a cool cover of Falco's "Rock Me, Amadeus" in the middle of their set.
Gary was awesome, as expected. 😂 Kind of wish the sound was up on his mic, though. I managed to snag a set list. Some young dude (late teens, I guess?) was with his mom. He randomly caught the set list, even though I'd been asking the roadies for one. I asked if he really needed that, and he said "no, you can have it", so I thanked the kid profusely (and thanked his mom). So, the young dude holding the set list (below) is the one who then ended up handing it to me. 🥹
Ministry was a lot of fun, too, and I like how Al doesn't seem to take himself too seriously. They even played "NWO" and "Stigmata"! During one song, he held out the microphone for the audience to sing, and the mic was practically in my face. Actually would have been, if the barrier didn't keep us about three feet from the stage.
I got tons of photos and some video, but damn. My phone died while recording "Stigmata". Good thing I'm seeing them all again tonight. I'll make sure to bring my phone fully charged. It was at about half when I got to San Antonio, and I didn't have a backup charger with me. I'll bring a backup tonight, too.
Managed to get my Sharpies back before I left, thanks to the security guard who took them actually holding them for me. Score!
Afterwards, Johnny asked if I wanted to play pool or something, and I said sure, so we walked to a pool hall, where he had parked his motorcycle, but they were closed. Dudes we recognized as people from the show (audience) told us about another pool hall, so Johnny and I took his motorcycle, and he let me borrow his helmet. I'd never been on a moving motorcycle before, so that was definitely a first! We played a few games, and I hadn't played pool in like a decade (and was still a bit drunk!), but I won once or twice. We would have kept playing, but he had to be at work by 6am, and it was nearly 1am already. Then he took me to the parking garage where I had parked and we said our goodbyes, me making sure he knew my Twitter handle, so he can find me there. He showed concern, like "You sure you're ok to drive?", etc. I was like "Yeah, I should think so by now".
The other issue with my phone dying is that I couldn't map how to get back to IH35, but I figured it out through a bit of trial and error. I was headed in the right general direction, but parts of the highway don't have on-ramps and instead are just overpasses above creepy-looking parking lots. Once I figured out how to get on the highway, I stopped at a gas station and had them unlock the door and the ladies' room door, because I'd had two huge hard seltzers at the show. 😅 😮💨
Then I drove home the roughly two hours needed to get there, except it was a bit faster getting home because there was no traffic that late. Got home a little after 3am and still had to walk the dog. 😆
Dyeing the tips of my hair teal. Getting ready to head out to see Front Line Assembly, Gary Numan, and Ministry. In San Antonio. Then seeing all three again back in Austin tomorrow! 😅
I might actually wear a skirt tonight?!?

What are the best games for a newbie hockey fan to watch to see that patented 1386 chemistry
ooh this was a fun one anon, thank you! this is more like, foundational (imo) games of the "this is nico's team now" era more than anything. but this did get. Very Long. so sorry about that lol
20 APR 2021 - NJD @ PIT: to me, really truly the start of a new era, couple games removed from moving zajac and palmieri at the deadline, in the middle of a 15-game (kinda, they had one win so like, is it really a win) losing streak. down 6-0 at the end of the second period they score 6 (!!!) goals in the third period and fall juuuust short of a comeback leading to this moment
29 APR 2021 - PHI @ NJD: the first of 3 games against philly because covid season was a fever dream individually great games from jack and nico but more importantly one of my favourite hughes to hischier power play goals of the season
19 OCT 2021 - SEA @ NJD: cursed jack shoulder injury game so like, maybe don’t watch it, BUT one of many captain games from nico, absolutely killing it once jack went down, played incredible defensively and kept the team afloat in jack’s absence
31 DEC 2021 - EDM @ NJD: honestly this game has everything (except defense)! jack goal! nico goal! dawson goal! jack ot goal! surprise hugs!
02 JAN 2022 - NJD @ WSH: the very first jack to nico overtime goal! against the caps! rejoice! (and sheldon keefe take notes)
22 JAN 2022 - CAR @ NJD: pride night game, jacknico(sevo) pp goal, post-win shenanigans, lots of them!
24 FEB 2022 - NJD @ PIT: 3 point games for both jack and nico, and 2 (!!!) power play goals, fun game, we love wins, we love pp goals, we love wins with pp goals
22 MAR 2022 - NYR @ NJD: of the ‘prom pose across the ice blown up into a mural at the prudential center where people now take couple photos’ fame. historic night for devils nation, and therefore the world. but also just. such a good game, made you believe in the team and the core (and then they lost 5 of the next 6 because they wouldn’t be the devils if they didn’t). top 3 hischier to hughes goals. the perfect game. obligatory fuck the rags.
28 OCT 2022 - COL @ NJD: second game of the 13 game win streak, we didn’t know what to expect and they gave us an absolute defensive masterclass from nico and a jack power play goal as a treat
disclaimer: not gonna put every game of the win streak here but like. you should watch all of them. just for the pure joy.
10 NOV 2022 - OTT @ NJD: another jacknico ot goal! i.e. things you love to see! truly bonkers overtime, if you don’t want to rewatch the full game just watch the overtime because akira subbed in with like 10 minutes left in the third, ice cold, held it down with ottawa pushing and played SO well in ot
17 NOV 2022 - NJD @ TOR: nico goal, jack ot heroics, and a little hurt/comfort, yknow, the good stuff
15 DEC 2022 - PHI @ NJD: my mind retconned this one as a win and turns out they did lose BUT it is a win solely for nico going after tk in jack’s honour, juicy narratives
07 JAN 2023 - NJD @ NYR: jack going nuclear, jacknico power play assists to jesper (big three goal!) +++ jacknico overtime goal which, okay, sevo scored the goal and neither of them got an assist on it but it’s the essence of it all. also burger king jerseys my beloved.
16–24 JAN 2023: the stretch from the sharks game to the vegas game where they were inexplicably red hot on the power play/6v5 and dougie’s shot was automatic and they put us through an absolute roller coaster.
23 FEB 2023 - LAK @ NJD: hughes to hischier! with the net empty! with like 40 seconds to go in the third and then dawson gets the ot winner and it’s beautiful and life is wonderful and everything’s perfect.
25 FEB 2023 - PHI @ NJD: 2003 cup anniversary game! jack goal! nico goal! something something passing the torch, something something looking up at the rafters hoping that’ll be your name up there someday
22 APR 2023 - NJD @ NYR - GAME 3: jack power play goal pulling them right back into the series what a game what a time <3
28 NOV 2023 - NYI @ NJD: hughes to hughes to hischier power play goal, that’s family baby! also of course “nico is a horse” game because why be normal about your captain when you can do whatever jack’s doing.
09 MAR 2024 - NJD @ CAR: first jack to nico 5v5 goal! put it in the history books! One of the few bright spots from last season that’s hopefully gonna carry forward this season, jack and nico finally starting to click at 5v5.
22 MAR 2024 - WPG @ NJD: unremarkable in the grand scheme of things but so many power play goals, therefore so many jacknico moments, bon appetit <3
#i do love reminiscing when i should be working instead#you don't have to watch all of the games obviously that's probably very hard#but i think everyone should experience top 4 matt tennyson at some point in their lives#asks#anon#1386
