jay has like three laptops all for different things and an ipad and a samsung tablet. no way he doesn't have allat to play games on their respective platforms frfr... (e.g. pjsk is region-locked and the japan and global versions of the game have some slight differences, so some people have to log out of their apple ids and change it to a jp one so that they can play the jp version. it was tedious, so jay just got 2 ipads.)

his iphone would be like the midnight blue 13 pro max or something. he'd probably have one of those stupid gaming phones too (he bought one off the market, found that it didn't run properly, and just made another one that actually worked himself. LMAO)

specifically has the apple wired earphones and airpods. i don't really think he's a headphone guy.

the green ninja unfortunately does not have the option to buy a green macbook, so he settled with a space grey 13 inch air with the M1 chip and bought a green skin for it. 💀 fortunately, he could buy his phone in HIS green with the iphone 13 pro max once again!

My Specs

Processing Chip: I have a 2020 M1 MacBook Pro, with an Apple M1 processing chip. I think this is important because the Apple "M" processing chips are far better than the Intel chips. I had a MacBook with an Intel chip for years before finally upgrading my laptop... huge difference.

Memory: I currently have 8 GBs of memory.

Storage: In terms of storage, I have 232.87 GB available of 494.38 GB total. Of that, my Mods folder is 54.58 GB.

Sims 4: I own all of the EP's, GP's, SP's, and Kits. My in-game graphics settings are fairly high. Only because I refuse to compromise on my nice screenshots, lol.

I do not merge custom content. I used to - but now I prefer to separate items and delete items that I do not use. Random potted plant that came with some random set that I never use? Delete. Hairstyle that I skip every time? Delete. I have been careful about only keeping items that I actually love.

Recently, I have been experiencing minor lags, but that's only because I have been playing my current save for quite some time.

Tips to Help Reduce lag for Mac Users:

Merge custom content. I know I just said that I no longer do this, but I used to swear by this method. Apparently, the game does not care about the size of the files, only the number of files that it has to read. Having a small amount of really huge files is much better than making the game read hundreds of individual files.

Delete "localthumbcache.package" in your 'The Sims 4' folder. Don't worry, the game will generate a new one. If you have been playing the game for a while (without deleting this) - this file tends to bloat which causes the game to lag.

Use less clutter... especially if you are using custom content. I cannot stress this enough. The more items you have on the lot - the more the game will lag. Your computer is being forced to read all of this visual information - and it's in overload. There's a reason those EA lots are practically empty.

"Close Call: How I Almost Switched to Apple"

I almost switched to Apple again! I've been looking for a new phone to replace my Android device. Initially, I considered the Google Pixel 9 Pro, but worries about warranty issues in the Philippines and no charger discouraged me. Seeking alternatives, I realized I've grown accustomed to Xiaomi's MIUI features, despite experimenting with stock Android custom ROMs. Google Pixel seemed lacking. My family suggested an iPhone 16 Pro/Max, making me ponder. Though hesitant, I still prefer Android. I searched for flagship Android options from trusted brands like Xiaomi and found the Xiaomi 14T Pro. Ironically, this reminded me of my laptop hunt, where I considered Lenovo Yoga 7i before settling on MacBook Pro M1 Pro Max due to availability issues. Determined to avoid Apple, I searched SM Lipa for the 14T Pro but found none in stock. Promotion signs only added to the frustration! Desperate, I headed to Robinson, praying they'd have stock. Spotting the Xiaomi store, I felt relieved! Finally, no Apple for me! Glad I stuck with Android, the Xiaomi 14T Pro boasts top-notch specs, scoring 2 million on Antutu and Geekbench! Whew, what a relief!

hello! 4k anon here again. tysm for making a guide for the previous ask! i'm fairly new to making gifs, so i hope asking more questions is okay. may i ask what the difference of 4k/blue/master-pro res files are? i've tried looking them up, but i can't see anything conclusive. as per the guide too, i also saw that you convert your videos to av1. may i ask the reason why? also are screencaps better than vs? thank you, and sorry for my many questions!

youtube often compresses the quality of the videos uploaded so a 4k mv downloaded from there can have lesser quality than a master/pro-res quality which usually comes straight from the label or the director! u can find them on sites such as sharemania, kpop24hours and archive.org!

in terms of encoding, i think handbrake offers the option of av1 or hevc and av1 is said to be more efficient and of higher quality than hevc! i haven't really tried hevc though!

also yeah! screencapping a ts file in mpv (after deinterlacing) has always resulted in higher quality gifs for me instead of vs (especially since vs is always fighting w macbooks with the m1/m2 chips) on vs my mac can only do bm3d denoise (knlm isn't compatible w apple chips 😭) so i never use that

After WWDC this year, I feel more compelled to start dropping Apple devices than ever. I'm just so tired of Apple trying to tell me how to feel about the shit they're releasing instead of just showing it to me. Not to mention, I'm really pissed the laptop I bought, new, four years ago isn't getting new updates. If I'm gonna use a software that doesn't get major updates year-to-year, I could at least use something that supports more apps like Windows or is open-source like Linux. Not to mention, both of those OSes tend to have better longevity. I'm also pretty tired of buying hardware that I can't fix or upgrade for over a thousand dollars. Shit just becomes obsolete whenever Apple decides. It was a mistake buying an M1 iMac instead of a gaming PC, and I definitely won't be replacing my suddenly "obsolete" MacBook Pro with another Apple device. Had my eyes on Framework for a while. I just never expected to get the final push I needed, especially this soon.
