Off-Lot Objects Bug

So if y'all remember this gif from last month (thanks for the support on that!), I TOOLed a lot of things outside the lot to make that scene. And I promise I deleted everything afterwards. Well I came back to the lot a few days ago and all the objects were there again, and I couldn't select them with the TOOL. They were just a part of the world. :/

After reaching out to Twisted Mexi on his discord, he explained the following: "EA implemented a fix for objects off-lot ending up in the sky. Unfortunately when they did, older saves may have this bug where objects are unclickable and off-lot." A member also let me know that this was a recent issue previously reported.

So I basically went into my most recent .save file using Sims 4 Studio and deleted the objects from that lot. If anyone is having that issue, let me know and I'd be glad to put up some screenshots showing the process. If you have prior knowledge of deleting objects out of the world, it's the same thing, just in your .save file instead of the .world files.

Infinite Loading DX11 Sept 18th Patch

It's not you, it's them (for the most part).

If after removing all of your mods you still cannot get into your saves using the load game > resume, method, switch back to DX9 and the issue should be resolved.

If the DX9 switch is missing in your game graphics options, quit, and enter the value manually in the EA Desktop app by clicking manage > view properties > type in -dx9 > click save

Obviously, this is less than ideal, DX11 has been buggy from the start, while it brings greater graphics performance and the ability to use more advanced reshade shaders, once again, I'd recommend protecting your most critical saves, and only playing those saves on DX9 until a solution can be found for this issue.

Presently, I take screenshots on DX11, but do gameplay on DX9, and ironically, DX11 doesn't allow my current save to load when I have all mods removed, but it does at least let me get into my one household with my CC folder, I just cannot travel away from the home lot without infinite loading.

*I spent cumulatively 5 days extensively testing this bug back in July with my own CC folder and there is no rhyme or reason for it. There was no consistency in this error occurring with CC, saves, lots, etc. the only time it occurred was when playing with DX11, and after generating a completely fresh EA Folder. Save yourself the headache, if your lots were fine before the update, and you have updated all of your mods but still getting the infinite loading screen with no error code, try doing this first.*

I was doing some cleaning from my mods folder (which was soo necessary at this point lol things were starting to get out of hand lol) I noticed after removing some files, I was unable to load my current household. It was stuck in that infinite loading screen bug??

Long story short, it was an Infant Playmat recolor (this is the one I used in particular) that caused the infinite loading screen bug for me. Without that CC, a last exception was prompted for me that read:

"T:\InGame\Gameplay\Scripts\Server\developmental_milestones\developmental_milestone_tracker.py"

After doing some searching, it appears that any infant milestones that were achieved using that particular playmat, will be linked to that playmat. So without it, your game (or at least for me) will not be able to read any of infant milestones!

Wild, huh? I didn't think a simple recolor would cause that kind of a bug. I thought it would be helpful to share this just in case anyone else was experiencing any of this weirdness.

(Also, I'm not saying the creator of the recolor was aware of this happening or even knew this would happen, but I'm sure this an issue with the original file to begin with)

I get pretty bored with the same careers because Get to Work and Discover University haven't been updated since their release so here are some jobs/degrees I've put together to help with that.

I also use the sims.modify_career_outfit_in_cas cheat to change their uniforms into what I think that professional would wear. For the more entrepreneurial careers it helps to have community lots your Sim can visit to work.

**second or third degree can be added using cheat codes without going to university again unless you want to of course

Scientist Career ➡️ Astrophysicist

Physics & Computer Science degree + Work on Rocket Science and Programming skills

Education (Professor Branch, lvl 8) ➡️ Art History Professor

Art History degree & Language and Literature degree + Painting skill or some other creative skill

Civil Designer (Civic Planner career) ➡️ Architect

Physics degree & Fine Art degree

Engineer (Mechanical Engineer branch) ➡️ Roboticist

Physics degree & Computer Science degree + Build robots at the crafting station at the Robot Crafting Station and sell them

Writer (Journalist branch) ➡️ Video Journalist

Communications degree & Language and Literature degree or Communications degree & Computer Science degree + Use the video editing station and drone to record and edit neighborhood footage

Writer (Author branch) ➡️ Genre Specific Author

I took off the tattoo but it is still there and i can even apply something in the same category

I need to know if the For Rent pack is worth it/was ever ACTUALLY fixed; because it would honestly be so useful with my save I'm doing but I don't want bork up my game/save 🥺

anyone got advice??

I literally just want the functionality of making usable apartment buildings and that's all I really care about, but I don't want to get it and then it messes up my saves/game😭

Question for TS4 Modders

If I hypothetically wanted to read through all of the text strings in the game, like all the career chance cards and npc dialogue (those little lore bits you can ask certain npcs about), is there a way for me to do that?

I want to comprehensively catalogue the npcs lore, and I'd like to know that i've seen all of it. I would also like to look for hidden lore in the career chance cards.

I just want to poke through the files and record what i find, is that reasonably achievable for someone with basically no coding/modding experience?

is anyone else dealing with infinite loading screens lately? i've been trying all kinds of methods trying to fix it for the last 4 days. i tried doing 50/50, removing all cc/mods altogether, repairing, deleting caches, resetting ea app. like literally everything.

my only solution so far is removing mc command center (but do i wanna play without it? erm no not really.)

my households only load without mccc and everything else or with mccc and nothing else. its very strange.

also i don't have any game breaking conflicts and all my mods are updated to the 1.98/1.99 patch.

i'm very desperate atp lmao. any help is appreciated!

WCIF - Restoring my lost Mods Folder

I have been able to find A LOT of my lost CC but I still need some help. Does anyone recognize any of these?

Also, if you find your game stuck with hanging loading screen...

Here's what to do:

Once you get to the game's main menu, click on "Load Save"

Select the "Recover Save" option.

The game will recover the save files, and you'll be able to load your save again. It will take you to the manage worlds map of your save but it will be there and safe to play.

Hello!Your work is very inspiring. I admire your taste. Tell me, how do you arrange objects so evenly? Especially on the kitchen shelves. I read a lot of information, but I couldn't find how to place items exactly on the shelves. Because I only manage to expose a few items (although I enter the code so that there are no conflicts with the items)everyday life

Thank you so much! There are two main ways to "free place" (aka off grid or without snapping) objects on shelves and counters. Here is a video tutorial on the non-mod way, and the other method, is to use an OMSP tool.

Do you have For Rent? Is your game now crashing? You might be entitled to compensation...

NOT.

But in all seriousness, I wanted to share a recent crashing experience I went through. I got For Rent and here's what happened. Everything was fine living in a rental. No problemo. Moved to a regular lot and decided to become a landlord. When I downloaded a lot from the gallery, things seemed fine at first. The lot was just two units, I was able to be a non-resident landlord, I didn't have any problems at first.

And then I got the crashing. This crashing happened only with traveling / going to map view. I couldn't travel anywhere, it was an immediate crash to desktop. Press the "m" key? Crash. Travel? Crash. Literally could only be in my home lot. I remembered there being a bug where a downloaded lot could cause problems, so I thought I'd sell it. Well surprise, surprise, that will also cause a crash because the game makes you travel to the lot to you're selling (? I beg your finest pardon? WTF for?) so CRASH.

Naturally, I tried another save. No crashing. Now here's the thing I did to fix it. I loaded back into my borked save. Since it was a load instead of a resume, it bounced me to manage worlds screen. SWEET! From there, I was able to evict the rental sims, sell the lot, go in and bulldoze it, and change it back to residential.

NO MORE CRASHING, MY FRIENDS. My save is saved. Alas, the entire reason for having For Rent is now moot, as even being an off-lot landlord causes problems, but this is the story of my crashing save and how it's (knock on wood) saved.

help, is anyone else having this issue with their reaper’s rewards? i can’t see any of the quest tasks.

i tried removing my mods because since this most recent update my event ui had been glitched, i didn’t take a screenshot of this but basically i couldn’t see anything for the rewards at all, just a little white box in the corner after getting the pop up about it. (the way it was glitched before was just some weird textures covering most of the ui but i could still see the actual tasks for things like high school, dates, etc.)

removing the mods (and disallowing in game) didn’t help but at least allowed me to see the event ui, in the second screenshot. i also tried making a(nother) new save and repairing my game but still that didn’t help

i will be devastated if i can’t get these rewards, pls help if anyone knows anything
