Country OC dump, pt1

I've been drawing quite a lot recently, so… yeah! Country OC dump! Yeah this is not aph btw… At first, we have America, also known as Ashley Roberts and then Bulgaria, Boris Dimitrov.

By second instance, we have Liechtenstein which goes by the name Karin Schädle, Switzerland, Rudolph Gerber, and finally Austria, Francizka Schwarz.

By third instance, Costa Rica, who goes by the name of Laura Quesada Villalobos, and Nicaragua whose Félix Urbina Sandoval.

And finally, Japan who goes by the name Daiki Kobayashi (In Kobayashi Daiki), North Korea, Min-seo Choi (Choi Min-seo) and South Korea, Tae-min Park (Park Tae-min)

If something is wrong with any name and interpretation, please let me know ASAP!!!!

okay i've said before "maybe himaruya is wrong about some things" but i think the thing himaruya is most wrong about is making "north korea" and "south korea" separate nations that represent history... sure that reflects like the reality states wise but politically it's so incorrect.... there's no difference between the north korean and south korean people in terms of language or really much in terms of culture like north and south italy (or. idk. north and south india which isn't a thing in hetalia despite north india and south india having entirely different languages and cultures). sure there might be exclusive regional traditions but the korean peninsula is more commonly perceived as a singular nation that is artificially divided at the parallel. this is probably because himaruya is japanese but personally i feel like we probably should stray away from japanese people's opinions on korea (hint: it's a lot of empire apologia)

Some EAsian Headcanons (because I don’t know what to post)

China be complaining about air pollution and be carrying a box of cigars everywhere.

Korea gets the most girls amongst all the EAsians. Macau comes close.

Japan has a pond with koi fish in his garden.

Japan is very very competitive. Would fight tooth and nail to be better than his opponents.

Hong Kong has insomnia because of all the lights. Other EAsians have a really lively night life, but they’ve gotten over it.

Korea, on the other hand, stays up late because he can, and can wake up early too.

Hong Kong is a germaphobe and carries sanitizer and wet tissue packets everywhere. Has trust issues when it comes to sanitation. Never uses his finger to press the lift button.

China once snuck into the British museum and took back a painting he made about 500 years ago, which he spent a week on. Caused international disputes as he sips on his tea with no milk and never planning on giving it up. (Inspired India to do the same)

Mongolia is part of almost every Asian Region group chat(after a ton of persuasion, bargaining, and begging. He just wants to leak the gossip and drama).

China, South Korea, Japan, and Mongolia(mainly with China) get into arguments 24/7. They’re internet fights are crazy, and they’re accounts have been suspended and banned multiple times.

China spoils the heck out of North Korea. He would be (maybe illegally) sending him all kinds of fancy stuff, which is currently piling up in N.K’s storage room.

I had a great run in the hetalia fandom: over 10 years, give or take. Not all at once, but more or less consistently, until recent years. Running this blog and RPing Sang Kyu (across multiple platforms) has been a big part of that. He's one of my longest running OCs and is still really important to me, but...

Over time, various things have driven me away from this fandom. Maybe it's just growing up--I'm approaching 30 at this point. I also lived in Korea--one of my life goals--got to experience that for two years. Since returning to the US, my interests and goals have turned to other things. I got married, bought a house, got a new job...and over time I found this fandom sucking up energy I didn't have. I don't keep up with current events as I once did; I simply don't have it in me to continue updating this blog anymore.

I am not Korean, if that wasn't clear, so this blog was always run from the experience of a Westerner, doing their best to do the research and portray things in a respectful (although admittedly not always 100% accurate) manner while keeping in the relatively lighthearted spirit of the source material. I hope some Korean fans will pick up the reins and fill in the gaps where I couldn't. Even having lived in Korea for a time, I can't pretend I know everything or have the experiences of people who grew up in the culture.

That being said, please DO feel free to use Sang Kyu for fanfics, fanart! Whatever! (But please don't RP him or claim him as yours...) All I ask is that you credit him to me, @circlique (or @ask-north-korea), and use him in respectful, non-hateful ways. I would love to see any fanart or fanfic that you tag me in. If you have questions about him, I would ask that you direct them to @circlique, since I plan on completely turning off the ask box to this blog after this post.

For the people who supported me over the years, or participated in my refugee fundraisers, thank you. I will always remember my time playing Sang Kyu fondly, and I hope he can continue to be an ambassador and educate even as I am not actively taking that role anymore.
