Love shouldn't be a prize or magic words that justify everything
*.·:·.✧.·:·.*
Let me start by saying that what I'm about to talk about is something Kishimoto also did with his canon couples, especially with NaruHina and SasuSaku, I apologize first of all, my English isn't very good, but I hope you understand. For these two couples, love is not treated as something that is intended to be built progressively between two people who want to get to know each other, but rather as a prize that will be won by the most persevering player.
Naruto never had romantic feelings for Hinata, but ends up marrying Hinata because she loved him and had been watching him for a long time. Not because he knows her or because her personality attracts him, but because Hinata was so kind and persistent that Naruto has to love her. Sakura has chased Sasuke for so long that it can only be true love and Sasuke can do nothing but reciprocate her love. Except relationships don't work that way and love isn't a prize you have a better chance of winning no matter how hard you try. Love is something that is gradually built between two people as they learn to know each other.
You don't fall in love with someone you only know superficially, much less when you're 12 years old: that's an infatuation, an infatuation, and all the relationships I talked about before seem more like an infatuation that took an obsessive turn than true love. In both cases, the relationship can be resumed by: a teenage Fan girl is obsessed with an idealized version of someone she barely knows and she's so insistent that she will be loved back.
I see a lot of people talking only about SasuSaku, but NaruHina has the same dynamic, in the end Hinata doesn't know much about Naruto, and Naruto knows even less about Hinata. But for some reason, we have to think that this girl is genuinely in love with someone she barely knows.
A second thing I want to say is that love alone doesn't make a relationship work.
Two people can love each other deeply, but if they want to work together for a long time, their relationship needs to have two other things: respect and concessions on both sides. In these relationships between the main cast of Naruto, you get the impression that one spouse simply does what they want and the other remains silent moving forward, no matter what.
For SasuSaku this is kind of obvious. Sasuke is the one who simply doesn't mind continuing to live his life the way he chooses and Sakura can follow him, or gently wait for him to show a sign of love whenever he wants. And when he makes the least effort? Suddenly she is so happy as if he had done something extraordinary. Now you might say to me “but if she's happy with it…”, and I would respond that Sakura is a character written by a grown man, and the fact that this man wrote is female characters being genuinely happy with the bare minimum.
Same thing for Hinata. Basically she is the perfect wife when Naruto doesn't put so much effort into the family. You see Boruto asking her why his father is never there and the only thing Hinata knows how to do is make him sad and tell his son how demanding the job of a Hokage is, and I agree with some analyzes I've seen here, Hinata doesn't have the courage and instead of making her husband understand that his family is also important, she prefers to stay away and support him in anything even when he is wrong. So the worst thing is to see when children express their dissatisfaction to one of the parents, and the parent in question doesn't even try to make their spouse understand, but rather to make the children accept that things are the way they are.
This is something that fans tend to censor in the canon and when we criticize the couples SasuSaku and NaruHina, the only thing that fans of these couples know to say is: "SASUSAKU AND NARUHINA IS CANON", as if a canonical seal would erase the regrettable relationship and bad that these couples have or as if these were magic words that justify everything.
Another offshoot of this dynamic that Kishimoto built around love being treated as a prize, is the view of some fans that if a character DOESN'T reciprocate the other's feelings, then he is an idiot who has and deserves to be punished.
This is particularly the case for Sakura with Naruto, Naruto with Hinata, and Sasuke with Sakura.
Some fans seem to have a sense of revenge by PUNISHING characters for not reciprocating someone else's feelings. Sakura deserves to be humiliated for not seeming to be interested in Naruto. Sasuke should be physically beaten and remain filled with regret for rejecting Sakura. In The Last, Toneri's entire arc makes it seem like they're blaming Naruto for not loving Hinata, Blaming him for being so stupid because he didn't notice the byakugan princess.
In The Last this is even more visible, because you have the reconstruction of Naruto's past, placing Hinata as a figure from his past, even though Naruto's childhood was lonely, you realize that they bombard Naruto with positive memories about Hinata to convince him to love Hinata. This view really irritates me. Just because you love someone doesn't mean the other person is wrong for not loving you back.
The truth is that everything they built for us about SasuSaku and NaruHina was rushed and completely absurd. When we compare these couples with ShikaTema and MinaKushi, we realized how bad the relationship between the main couples is.
I know Naruto is a shonen anime whose focus isn't romance, but it seems like Kishimoto really went out of his way to make SS and NH romance as bad as possible.
Yes, I was upset tonight, so I had to complain a little. Hope you have a good day! ❤

Sarada is fucking ugly.
Okay, maybe not Sarada herself, but her clothes certainly are.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sarada’s clothing style looks ridiculously out of place and touch with Naruto/Boruto reality.
It is not just that Sarada is dressed like a hooker and her clothes are extremely unpractical and unsuitable for battlefield: she also is like a white crow compared to all male characters, the clothing style is just not the same.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Somebody put Sarada after time skip right next to her male teammates and Sarada looks like a low class teen only fans prostitute compared to them.
Ew,just ew.

thoughts on naruhina + boruto and their...family
Will preface this by saying that this is a combination of observation and analysis and if you don't agree with me, take this with a grain of salt and scroll away.
(If you're a naruhina/nh shipper, do yourself a favor and scroll away because this isn't your cup of tea.)
sasusaku + sarada version.
Personally, it's almost emotionally triggering for me to watch the NH family because it reminded me of what my family dynamic used to be and witnessing it unfold in the sequel from a viewer's perspective made me realize how dysfunctional it is and what could've been done better.
Let's start at the issue at hand: Naruto not coming home, being too busy as Hokage to the point that he misses important family events like birthdays.
Boruto's reaction to the issue is realistic, especially to a kid that doesn't understand. I'm not saying that Naruto doesn't have a contribution to that mess at all (it's worse when you realize that he would rather be in his office worrying about the number of headbands than be with his family but that is a separate discussion that I will dive on in the near future, among other things). Basically, he wanted his father to be, well, present, so he does everything to get his attention. And no, those pranks aren't pointless. Being a Hokage means attending public functions and being involved with the community and what's the best freaking way to get your dad's attention by embarrassing him while on the job (which happens to be the same thing that stands between him being a good father)? Now, this wouldn't escalate into massive proportions like cheating-on-the-Chunin-exams level if Hinata was able to placate and explain things to her son.
In terms of explaining, there are several things to consider:
realizing the issue
being logical about the reasons
seeing eye to eye with your kid, emphasizing on how your kid perceived this issue emotionally and determining what they want
not making excuses and stating the reasons in the perspective that your kid can understand
openly communicating the issue to the ones in concern and expressing your stance on this, hearing them out, and reaching a consensus (or a conclusion)
But the thing is, Hinata herself doesn't see the problem, thus eliminating the chance to see her kid eye-to-eye on this particular issue--given that they aren't on the same page from the start. It's baffling as well as concerning to see that she doesn't have any qualms with her husband making a secondary residence in the Hokage Office, sleeping on the couch and not on their shared bed, overworking himself to the point that even his freaking advisor tells him to go the fuck home, would rather eat cup ramen than enjoy a home cooked meal, and the tipping point: is okay with her husband sending a clone to celebrate their daughter's birthday.
And her telling Boruto that his father is the Hokage and it's a busy position pretty much doesn't cover how fucked up the issue is. Boruto could easily counter that with well Shikadai's dad is the Hokage advisor but he can go home so what's stopping mine from doing the same? In short, she keeps on excusing the behavior which in turn gives off that Naruto prioritizes the job the most and their family clearly comes second and oh my, does that sound so appealing on a child's ears? Definitely not.
The point is, a kid would go through drastic measures to find the assurance and approval that they need especially if it wasn't provided to them. The pranks stopped when Sasuke entered the picture. He was able to talk to Boruto about his dad. Give opinions about Naruto as the person, not just someone in a high position. That's exactly what Boruto needed to hear.
Now you may wonder why Sasuke was able to do this and not Hinata? That's because Sasuke pretty much understands Naruto and he is able to provide more input about Naruto outside of his achievements and position. Not to mention that Sasuke pretty much took Boruto under his wing to train him if he wanted to defeat his dad. And one thing about Sasuke is he isn't pretty much holding back when he calls out Boruto, something I've noticed that Hinata wasn't able to do. Watching the scene of Sasuke scolding Boruto in front of his own mother is pretty funny because why is your husband's best friend giving off mother more than you?

What Should The Plot Of Boruto Be?
I think it’s mostly agreed that the plot of Boruto (due to concept, execution, or both) isn’t good. I’m under the opinion that because the Naruto series wasn’t made with a sequel, let alone a next gen sequel, in mind, most plots for a next gen sequel either don't work/make sense or undermine the original in some way. Despite that though, I have come up with a few ideas of what the plot of Boruto could’ve been instead. So…
With the only rule being that the plot focuses on the kids (not the parents because maybe just do a blank period sequel instead at that point), what do you think the plot of Boruto should’ve been?

“hinata never abused Kawaki!” And the same hinatafans cry about “hinata being abused by hiashi”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
First of all, this is such an old loser—at 29 it is embarrassing to post anything related to teen & kid media, especially such shitty takes.
Where were hinata’s “motherly reflexes” when Otsusuki attacked?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Naruto!” thinks hinata when Boruto is in the same fucking spot as Naruto is.
how is hinata NOT worried about Boruto at all? Not a single thought!
why is hinata not thinking about Boruto? Boruto is a 12 years old genin who failed chunin exam and Naruto is the strongest shinobi on the planet.
how come hinata did grab himawari but didn’t even concern herself with at least a though about Boruto?
why hinata thinks that she can send a 12 years old son of her, a weak genin to fight god like powerful aliens who beat her ass and Naruto’s too like five minutes ago?

I HAVE BEEN THINKING
Soo a month or two ago I watched the opening and endings of Boruto for the first time, and while I think they are nice and don't hate the characters or anything like that i couldn't stop thinking of how good it could be if the Naruto ending was just a little bit different and more satisfying for all the characters and overall plot.
I would love Boruto an Himawari and that other child they have if the NaruHina ship had ANYTHING in the canon, I would accept Sarada existing if she was Sakura child exclusively or they managed to make SasuSaku non toxic. I would love Orochimaru's child if the show actually made Orochimaru pay for anything that he has done instead of making him a comedic character.
I would adore the Boruto series if it showed how Naruto changed the Shinobi world like he promised to. If the hyugas changed to never allow something like the side family seal to be used again(and if Neji was still alive instead of following the hyugas destiny/curse) . If Konoha made anything to compensate Sasuke for the Uchihas massacre. If the Konoha people ever apologized for the treatment they gave to Naruto and so many more small things like that. But I know for a fact that none of that happens, so even though the colors and songs of the boruto series are nice I can't enjoy them because I know the story never progressed. And I wanted to enjoy them.
I can't fix the series nor I have the intention to do that, I just wish it was different because I like what Kisimoto was doing until the last bit of the war arc.
Idk I just needed to ramble a bit about this, because I do plan to make a next gen au with my headcanons of the story, picking and choosing from canon and filler. But I'm making it with the bitter taste of knowing that the next gen already exists and could have been perfect if it had just little adjustments.

I was in Twitter, which doesn’t happen really often, and I saw this:
Tumblr media
At first I thought "Well, half of the replies to the tweets seem to think that a good female character designs is an over-sexualized one, so it’s not surprising that people think Hinata has a good design…"
But then I realized that the problem of Hinata’s design wasn’t just the fact that she was over-sexualized in the anime and official arts. The problem of her design is that it’s BLAND.
Let’s take a look at her Genin design first:
Tumblr media
To be honest, her Genin design is okay. The pompons on her jacket accentuated her soft and childish side, it’s a nice touch to her outfit. Her hair looks good and it’s pretty original to not gave her a more "girly" hairstyle.
But SP decided to gave her a more conventionally attractive and feminine face, and to sexualize her even though she’s 12.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the time’s skip…
Her design isn’t extraordinary. Hinata’s outfit doesn’t have pompons on her jacket anymore, which seems logical since she grew up. But her outfit is now pretty bland, it just looks like a regular sport outfit. Her haircut is really classical and doesn’t have anything special to it except the two bangs that shape Hinata’s face.
Nothing interesting to say except that Hinata’s design is generic and kinda boring.
Tumblr media
The Last design:
With time, Hinata’s design just get more and more generic. Her round face was changed for a pointy chin, and she even completely lose her bangs in her design for The Last. We can’t really tell if she’s a ninja or not, since she doesn’t have her hitai-ate anymore, and that her outfit doesn’t look very… practical for fighting.
Tumblr media
The worst part about her design is that it’s OOC. A comment that Kishi made in the first Databook makes us know that Hinata isn’t interested in fashion, and that she was apparently not the type to wear clothes that reveal her skin.
Tumblr media
(Kishi even tells us that she looks bland)
But making Hinata’s clothes shorter to make her more appealing to the audience is more important than the coherence of the story I guess… The black socks she wears are similar to the ones that girls in hentai wear, but in the design Kishimoto had previously drawn of Hinata, we can see Hinata was wearing the usual fishnet socks that shinobi wear (and she still has the shape of her bangs)
Tumblr media
At first I thought that SP decided to replace the fishnet socks by the black socks because it was easier to animate, or just because they wanted to change of art style to distance themselves from the original anime. But then I noticed that Tenten was wearing fishnet socks on her The Last design… So there’s not other explanation for this change except the fact that it makes Hinata looks even more hentai-related. Great.
And finally, the Boruto Design:
Tumblr media
Hinata’s design in chapter 700th was… decent. Her outfit look like an "adult" outfit, and I think her tied up hair looks pretty good. Her design is still bland and forgettable, but it’s fine. But for some reasons, her design was changed for the Boruto movie:
Tumblr media
Kishimoto designed it, so there must be a reason for the changes. So, Hinata now has shorter hair and shorter clothes. And frankly, it looks like she’s wearing the clothes she wore when she was a genin, even the pompons are back. Not only does the color palet makes it hard to look at Hinata without laughing, the shape of the outfits is also pretty weird.
I don’t know if Kishi redesigned Hinata to make her more childish in order to show us that her wedding with Naruto only accentuate the fact that she’s still a little girl in love, but if it’s the case… well played I guess??

I really dislike this narrative that antiHinata peeps are trying to push after the latest episode. Like come on! Are their comprehensive skills so low and misguided by their hatred for this character to the point where they're going to blatantly ignore that she was worried about HER SONS when asking to join Naruto???
Like y'all, really wanna sit here and call her a bad mom because Naruto told her to worry about Himawari, and that as a mother it should be her duty to worry about her children, yet are missing the entire point of that scene being her worrying for the safety of HER OTHER TWO CHILDREN!
Naruto and Hinata are the only family to have multiple children - two biological and one adoptive. Everyone else has one kid to worry about. So while it would be understandable for people to get upset and make such biased claims if this were say Sakura, Ino, Temari, or Karui, seeing as they all have ONE CHILD to worry about, Hinata has three and she knows two of them are in danger. She's not asking to tag along to dick ride Naruto, she's asking to assist in protecting her actively endangered children! Neither she or Naruto are wrong in that situation. Both are concerned parents, but Hinata's just been on the sidelines for everything up until now.
The manga clearly shows her concern and grief for her entire family, but of course people would like to ignore it and focus on the poor iteration of Naruto calling her ridiculous, instead of him just telling her to think of Himawari and let him handle Boruto and Kawaki. Like damn, Hinata's damned either way with you people 🤦🏻‍♀️

Sakura’s love to Sasuke is not real.
Tumblr media
If Sasuke was fat like Choji,if Sasuke had an ugly face like Lee,if Sasuke was unfortunate looking and stupid like Naruto,if Sasuke had a common, not eye catching at all, appearance like Shikamaru,Sakura would have never bothered paying attention to Sasuke.
Tumblr media
Sakura does not know if Sasuke needs glasses (Naruto knows that he doesn’t): Sakura does not know something so obvious and so basic about Sasuke like an everyday use of glasses, and Sasusaku fans are delusional to insist that Sakura “knows Sasuke inside out and understands him perfectly”.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If Sasuke wasn’t hot, talented and popular, Sakura would have never even bothered to talk to him and would ignore him with disgust like she did to Lee and Naruto.
