The star Anser (α Vulpeculae) // daywalker
Anser is the brightest star in the constellation of Vulpecula, the Fox. The star's name comes from the constellations original name, Vulpecula cum ansere meaning "the little fox with the goose".
Physically, Anser is a red giant with about the mass of the Sun, but a size about 40 times that of the Sun. It is located almost 300 light years away.

If anyone knows about obscure Alcor familiars, please let me know (message, ask, reblog, comment, ect) and send me a link to where I can learn about them. I love all the characters who are just “oh yeah, Alcor accidentally cursed/revived that thing and now it thinks he’s their dad” but they don’t get a lot of attention anymore. I was scrolling on the official blog this morning, and found a bunch of them that I never knew existed.
Also, they don’t have to be ALCOR’S familiar, they just need to be a one-of-a-kind being resembling an animal or living thing. (Like Sethany) No sandwiches, lollipops, or dates please.
Here’s a list of the ones I already know about:
Sethany (two links)
Razmé
Jupiter
Anser
Lepus
Al-V
The Flock
Lady Star Mittens of Sparkle Town
Algieba
The bottomless pit wildlife
The following ones become sentient in later centuries in this fic. I’ve never seen it mentioned anywhere else but I like it.
The Rainbow Basher
The Sweater Stash
The Answering machine
You can even make your own! I just want more familiars! (Possums, owls, raccoons, snakes, crocodilians, bears, pigeons, moose and buffalo are pretty cool 👀)
Edit: can’t keep on adding all the cool animals I remember, because almost every animal is cool. Go crazy.

Κι ήσουν χαμόγελα μόνο
Πες μου μέσα σου τι σε βασανίζει μπας και μοιραστούμε τον πόνο.

I have yet to purge myself of drawing Skyhooks, bear with me. This is for the upcoming Google Sites page.
Tumblr media
Context- Southbound is an **artificial** speculative evolution project centering primarily around the speculative biology and evolution of machines, often with a focus on aircraft. Unless specifically stated otherwise, instalments take place somewhere on the surface of the tidally-locked planet, Xoturanseria (Anser).
Specific Context-
Fig. 1
Various forward-facing views of the Giant Skyhook.
"Low-altitude" refers to the position Skyhooks assume when flying at lower altitudes. The wings are fully spread to maximize lift. Occasionally this position is also taken to regulate body temperature.
"High-altitude" refers to the position Skyhooks will assume at higher elevations. The wings are hardly extended, and the machine primarily parasitizes surrounding conditions to accelerate without actively flapping its wings.
"Stooping" is self-explanatory. If you see a Skyhook stooping at you, it is already too late. This behavior is only observed when the Skyhook is attacking something larger than itself. It will execute this maneuver to cripple whatever happens to be in its way. Interestingly, this position has led to the nickname of "Peacock Satellite", for the resemblance to a peacock eye feather.
Fig.2
An example of a low-altitude flying Skyhook. Note the reduced second rectrices and extended pin-tail.
Fig. 3
A side-view of a high-altitude coasting Skyhook. The head is held straight out, the wings are folded partially, and the tail is also folded.
Fig. 4
Average Skyhook walk. It is an almost strut-like movement, with the ornithopter leaning slighly forward as it steps. the wings are held back slightly to act as a counterbalance.

I have been informed through internet means and also by medical professionals that I may require 'therapy' to sort out the nonphysical ailments I have received post the Death Engine. This is absolutely incorrect. I do not think there is a single nonphysical ailment I have received that can not be alleviated by beating the Agent into a red paste
