Owings Mills, MD — VoicePlay live performances

For their first concert of 2020, VoicePlay headed up the East Coast to a town just outside Baltimore. They were joined by local vocal group The Trills as their opening act, and a number of longtime fans met up in the audience to enjoy the harmonious antics live.

My og favorite boy, he's had quite the character arc too overtime, yet some things haven't changed for the past 10+ years. Like his blue hair. The blond he's with is his Grimmhound BF Diojas. He and DIo are sort of my "main" couple.

The snake is a familiar of sorts, who was sent to look after him by his biological father. He has a human design too, I just haven't updated it yet.

ShadowCaster Sorcerer (Actually a Soulcaster/Void Warlock with the ability to channel the Void thanks to his biological father) who works with the Sterling family to aid people with exorcising demons or evil spirits/disarm dangerous magical artifacts, etc.

Family: Adoptive parents Lionel & Annabelle, step-brother Adam, biological little brother Reuben. Biological parents Shaell and Saba, grandfather Amir/Amaros, granduncle Samar

Love interest: Diojas Sterling, a young Grimmhound with some light magic abilities

Powers:

Astral projection: A basic skill for all magic using beings essentially, just how good you are at it depends on your skill level, Azul is capable of surviving in the spirit realm easily for a very long time - in fact he has yet to hit his limit, the longest he's done it was a month, which is a LONG time.

Shadow/darkness as elemental magic: This ability to control and utilize shadows and darkness like it was an element, forge it into weapons and use it for travel, stealth and transformation is what makes people believe he is a Shadowcaster. However, what he is actually doing is utilizing the Void, not the shadow element. Because Void Magic is so incredibly rare and unknown, people mistake it for shadow magic (until spells typically working against them like sacred light does jack shit)

Curse knowledge: He can create or diffuse even very old, near forgotten curses, and bind very powerful beings using said curses.

Stabby stab: He's good with melee weapons, typically blades.

Aura spotting: he can tell instantly what kind of person someone is/what ailments and health issues they have by just looking at them, studying the natural aura every living thing has. What makes it special in his case, is that this is not a typical Shadowcaster ability & he's weirdly adept at studying them accurately in a split-second, something that typically takes people years to learn. (This is because it is the Void, not the Shadows)

Summoning: He can summon and bargain with dark and nightly beings, and can even create summoning stones for some himself, when typically you'd have to find a summoning stone of the being to call for them. (Such as Soul eaters)

NOTABLE BG STORY FACTS:

Azul and Angus studied in the same university, where their rivalry came from. Namely because Azul was typically the one to counter his and Vincent's shenanigans. (Their rivalry is friendlier now, as Angus has matured from those days a lot, and regrets some of his actions)

Azul was studying to become a Healer Medic, meaning he'd deal with magic-based ailments such as curses, exorcisms, or infections on one's magic itself, rather than physical, biological disease. (Mirror world has two types of medics; those who focus on the magic side, and those who are more like earth doctors)

Azul and his brother Reuben actually originate from eons past; they were thrown forward in time as little kids, and discovered & adopted by the Knights.

Nobody else actually knows this time-travel detail apart from Azul himself, and he has chosen to keep it a secret due to his intuition telling him this knowledge is dangerous; Reuben was too young to remember what happened.

Angus is one of the few people outside his family, who knows that Azul is his actual name, not just an alias he's using. Majority of his friends still call him "Chester" pretty much. (Another person who knows is Harrow)

Generally speaking, initially Azul regards his true name as a special sign of trust, giving it only a selected few. (Angus being the first outsider apart from his family and boyfriend to learn it)

The exact timeline of their origin isn't known, but anyone who's attempted to read his soul or look into his past comment that it is "ancient" and therefore difficult to properly read.

Other Fun facts:

Azul has the tendency to befriend women (anyone identifying as to be specific, cis, trans, etc) more than men. He doesn't really know why, it just sort of happens.

He is bisexual

Azul is a LOT like his biological father, and when they finally meet for the first time, it becomes painfully clear to everyone around them.

His & Reuben's biological mother was a powerful fire sorceress on top of her naturally inherited Soulcaster abilities, which is why Reuben ended up as a fire elementalist; the Soulcaster magic combined with her fire. (He has no adaptability to the Void like Azul)

Azul was thought to be a Shadowcaster because of people not recognizing what the Void's power was, being near unheard of magic type nowadays in Ether.

"Caster" is a special sub-type of Sorcerers, who are even more powerful than average sorcerer/sorceress. When trying to identify his magic power, the Arcane Council eventually concluded he had to be a Caster type, given how strong and naturally adaptive he was with his magic. They had no way of knowing he was also displaying an ancient, now extinct magic type.

Even after switching to Azul as his main name, he doesn't mind people calling him Chess or Chester, as he still keeps it as his second name, making his full legal name "Azul Chester Knight."

Azul and one of his still-closest friends, Iris, shared some romantic tension between them when they were younger, and he helped her get past very abusive childhood alongside his whole family.

They did in fact sleep together once, and it was more of an important thing for Iris, where she wanted her first time to be with someone she absolutely trusted, even if they weren't really meant to be.

He isn't the closest with his baby brother Adam, mainly due to him generally just being very busy and rarely home. He still loves Adam as dearly as his biological brother, he just shows it differently from how he is with Reuben.

Because of his secret origin, Azul can read and speak ancient Etherian languages that majority of current people can't.

Azul and Diojas often bicker like an old married couple, sometimes in front of outsiders, who find it rather painful to watch given how oblivious they seem to their attraction towards each other, at least initially

Azul's snake familiar Lasha is actually one of his father's followers who was asked by Shaell to look after him, and later make him guide Azul to come and release Shaell from the prison Samar had managed to seal him into.

The same way, the obsidian stone he has is actually a Void Stone that he uses to see "visions" that are really just Shaell guiding him.

He sometimes changes his hair to more natural brown when in human realm for disguise purposes, because his blue hair stands out a lot.

FILM DESCRIPTION: In 1964, with the Cuban Missile Crisis fresh in viewers' minds, the Cold War at its frostiest, and the hydrogen bomb relatively new and frightening, Stanley Kubrick dared to make a film about what could happen if the wrong person pushed the wrong button -- and played the situation for laughs. Dr. Strangelove's jet-black satire (from a script by director Stanley Kubrick, Peter George, and Terry Southern) and a host of superb comic performances (including three from Peter Sellers) have kept the film fresh and entertaining, even as its issues have become (slightly) less timely. Loaded with thermonuclear weapons, a U.S. bomber piloted by Maj. T.J. "King" Kong (Slim Pickens) is on a routine flight pattern near the Soviet Union when they receive orders to commence Wing Attack Plan R, best summarized by Maj. Kong as "Nuclear combat! Toe to toe with the Russkies!" On the ground at Burpleson Air Force Base, Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake (Peter Sellers) notices nothing on the news about America being at war. Gen. Jack D. Scott), who sees this as an opportunity to do something about Communism in general and Russians in particular. However, the ante is upped considerably when Soviet ambassador de Sadesky (Peter Bull) informs Muffley and his staff of the latest innovation in Soviet weapons technology: a "Doomsday Machine" that will destroy the entire world if the Russians are attacked.
