A Curated Selection of Kids Books/TV Shows I Would Actually Be Okay With Them Getting An Edgy PG-13 Live Action TV Adaptation:
The Magic Tree House Books. CW Magic Tree House where Jack and Annie are now adults. Tell me that wouldn’t slap. You can’t because it would. They’d basically be a more whimsical Dr. Who. Bonus points if they cast Katie McGrath as Morgan Le Fay.
Wild Kratts. Just imagine it. The CGI would be horrendous. The props and costumes would be award-winning. The real Kratt brothers could still do little intros and outros with cool animal facts. At some point the team has to take the Tortuga and go on the run bc one of them killed someone. It was probably either Chris killing an unnamed animal trafficker played by an extra or Aviva shooting Zach point blank in the chest. With so much horrendous CGI it’s a show that leans heavy into character arc and social commentary and they cast actors that deliver Oscar-worthy performances. It would still probably only make it 1 or 2 seasons tho tbh.
Danny Phantom. I’m sure I don’t need to explain this one.
The Sisters Grimm. Okay this one needs to come with the caveat that I’d want it rated a little lower. Maybe like TV-PG. So that they could cast age-accurate actors without traumatizing them. Maybe they could bump it up to TV-14 in the later seasons but come on. If you’ve read these books you know this would hit if done correctly. It would be like Once Upon a Time meets literally any tween coming of age show. Don’t tell me watching Sabrina’s anger issues play out wouldn’t heal something in your inner 12-year-old’s soul. If it made it to season 3 Jake would become a tumblr sexyman. It would be amazing.
LEGO Ninjago. Okay I might be biased on this one bc I loved it so much when I was 10 but it would be so camp. I imagine it as basically a shot for shot recreation of the cartoon but with some added scenes to flesh out the characters and lore a bit more and also they’re allowed to swear. There would be so many plot points that are absolutely horrifying if you think about them too hard and a bunch more that are just a bit cringe but only if you’re too much of a coward to embrace them. Plus if they did it right it would probably have a majority-Asian cast and as a Wasian I’d really dig that.
All of these are just my opinion and y’all are free to disagree :)

@eemcintyre's top 115 favorite movies in alphabetical order

Baby CEO
Tumblr media
The Boss Baby, a 2017 animated comedy film from DreamWorks Animation, brings a unique twist to the concept of sibling rivalry with a dose of corporate intrigue. Directed by Tom McGrath and featuring a star-studded voice cast including Alec Baldwin, Steve Buscemi, and Lisa Kudrow, this film is loosely based on Marla Frazee's 2010 picture book of the same name.
Plot Overview
Set in the late 1970s, the story follows 7-year-old Tim Templeton, whose life takes a wild turn with the arrival of his new baby brother, Boss Baby. Unlike typical infants, Boss Baby sports a suit and tie and exhibits adult-like behavior when out of his parents' sight. Tim discovers that Boss Baby is actually a secret agent from BabyCorp, sent to investigate the declining love for babies caused by the rising popularity of puppies. This mission kedai168 leads to a thrilling adventure that sees Tim and Boss Baby teaming up to thwart a plot by the CEO of Puppy Co., Francis E. Francis, who plans to unleash a "Forever Puppy" to steal all the love from babies.
Critical Reception and Impact
The Boss Baby premiered at the Miami International Film Festival on March 12, 2017, before hitting U.S. theaters on March 31. While it garnered mixed reviews—praised for its animation and Alec Baldwin's voice performance but critiqued for its complex plot and humor—it proved to be a financial success, grossing over $528 million worldwide against a $125 million budget. The film was recognized with nominations for Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards, Annie Awards, and Golden Globes.
Franchise Expansion
Following the film's success, The Boss Baby expanded into a popular franchise. A Netflix series, The Boss Baby: Back in Business, premiered on April 6, 2018, continuing the adventures of Boss Baby. The sequel film, The Boss Baby: Family Business, kedai168 was released on July 2, 2021, in theaters and on Peacock. Additionally, the franchise saw another Netflix series, The Boss Baby: Back in the Crib, launch on May 19, 2022.
Conclusion
From its quirky premise to its heartfelt conclusion, The Boss Baby offers a blend of comedy and charm that resonates with audiences of all ages. The film’s inventive storyline and memorable characters have cemented its place in the realm of family-friendly entertainment, with the franchise continuing to grow and delight viewers worldwide.

Alchemy Artisan
Reach level 10 in Alchemy, use 50 Alchemy Elixirs
Tumblr media
Meet Jodie McGrath. Jodie is a young woman with big eyes that's just moved into the supernatural town of Moonlight Falls. Her traits are Supernatural Fan, Adventurous, Brave, Gatherer and Childish, and her favorite color is purple. It's actually the only color she wears, apart from white and black (and the occasional gold of a jewelry).
Jodie immediately got herself an alchemy station and got to work. She researched in her grand book of alchemy and quickly learned the skill.
Tumblr media
Outside her quaint home, Jodie found a cardinal. She bought a cage for it and named it Buzby. In the outskirts of Moonlight Falls, it would keep her company while she worked on her skills.
Tumblr media
Jodie started experimenting on herself with the elixirs. A night earlier, she used the Flask of Sleep on herself to get a good night's sleep. The next morning, she tried Vial of Bliss and it was awesome.
Tumblr media
Later that day she headed closer to town to gather some metals and insects for her potions. This is something I have never actively done with a sim, so this collecting stuff will be an interesting new thing to do!
Tumblr media
While Jodie tried creating the Ad Nauseum elixir, something went very wrong and she turned into a frog-human. She quickly made work of creating a cure and returned to her normal self, thankfully.
Tumblr media
Jodie went out to the consignment store to be able to earn some more money with her elixirs. She sold some of her elixirs for consignment and went out into their yard to gather some butterflies, beetles and even honey from the beesboxes!
Tumblr media
After selling her elixirs, Jodie headed to the festival and participated in the hot dog eating contest with the Wolff family. Sadly, she lost.
Tumblr media
Jodie realized that not all ingredients she needed for her elixirs were so easy to come by, so she bought some ingredients from the consignment store and started a little in-home garden. Every morning, the first thing she'd do is take care of her little plants. Sadly, she was still missing one very important ingredient; red valerian.
Tumblr media
While out collecting, Jodie found a snake! She took it home with her and kept it as her pet. Later, she even found some fireflies!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After making some friends in town, Jodie was invited to a halloween party at Pip Goodfellow's house. She showed up as a mermaid.
Tumblr media
Back at home, Jodie was so proud of her elixirs, she decided the rest of Moonlight Falls should get to enjoy them for free. She'd earned enough to live comfortably for a little while by selling them for consignment, so she could afford to give some away for free. She travelled to the park and found Bianca Crumplebotton, who she gave the zombification exilir and jar of friendship. Now, Jodie had a zombie best friend!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Realising Jodie needed fish for some of her recipes, she went out the graveyard she lived next to and started fishing. Those fish were a little too strong for her, though, so she tried somewhere else with some easier fish. It's a skill issue.
Tumblr media
Winter hit Moonlight Falls and it put a stop to Jodie's attempt at developing her fishing skill. She found the weather stone and realised that she, as a normal human, couldn't use it.
Tumblr media
A little upset, Jodie went to the Toadstool and started using some elixirs on the few people there. Somehow, everyone she plagued with a jar of bees decided they were attracted to her.
Tumblr media
Jodie figured out the recipe for the elixir that could make her a witch. She used it on herself, got a wand and broom, and got to work. Maybe then she could use the weather stone, but to start she could only make it rain. That wasn't gonna help with her fishing problem.
Tumblr media
At another party of Pip Goodfellow's, Jodie found a like-minded Childish person and sat in the baby's room to play with the dollhouse. Later, she would plague Annie Nix's husband, because Annie was now her soulmate.
Tumblr media
Heading to the library to use the last of her elixirs, Jodie terrorized the people. With 49 elixirs used, she headed back home, got cleaned up and used the last elixir on herself, finishing her lifetime wish. Now, her next step in life could be becoming the greatest witch ever known. Probably.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jodie completed her lifetime wish in 21 sim-days. I really hope to see this wonderful sim again and develop her magical abilities. On to the next one.
Love only.

Non ho letto nessuno dei due tbh but i trust alda merini with my life. Io stavo pensando a il bacio della medusa di melania g. mazzucco (letto anni fa, solamente una parte si svolge in un manicomio ma ricordo la sensazione di violenza e impotenza e ingiustizia) vs follia di patrick mcgrath (lo sto finendo adesso e mi sta facendo innervosire. what if a woman manipulated his psychiatrist until he let her go from the asylum in the hope that she fucks him) 🙄
