Hey, I just wanted to make a post for the android users who just did a security update. If you go on YouTube and find that your app has been put in restricted mode, heres two ways to fix it. 1) Go to your profile on YouTube and click the cog wheel in the top right corner. Scroll down and check to see if restricted mode has been turned on. If it has and the slider isn't t grayed out, click it, and that should fix it. 2) If the slider is grayed out, here is what you do. Go to your android settings and scroll down to security and privacy. Scroll down to more security settings and click it, then scroll until you find android safe browsing. Click that, then look for use live threat protection and turn it off that should turn off the restricted mode on YouTube. To check, follow the first way.

my little project just now has been to approximate a smart speaker by plugging my old pixel 4a into a clock radio from 2011 and remote controlling the music using my normal phone via my spotify account uhhh total additional cost $11 cuz i did buy a new usb c charger for the 4a but other than that no additional costs. good project if u want the semi autonomous music playback of a smart speaker but resent that they r functionally wiretaps and also it reduces ewaste 👍

Some people have very rightly pointed out not to download Google Drive links from strangers on the internet! I wrote these instructions for my friends, then copy-pasted it here with an added preamble, and didn't consider the concerns that might cause.

That being said, here is the official APKMirror link for the correct distribution! As much as I can promise to my mutuals I'm not a bad actor, security is a serious concern.

Hi! I'm autistic, and Discord's latest mobile update is total and utter dogshit. They made it objectively less usable for no discernible reason. I'm here to help you fix that, and revert to the last update.

Disclaimer: I'm on Android, so these instructions are for Android only. If you're on IOS, I know there is a way to do it, but I'm not going to post instructions I haven't tested.

1. **UNINSTALL DISCORD.** This will not work if any user on your phone (probably only one unless you're into more technical stuff than even I am) has a more recent version installed.

2. Disable automatic app updates. If you're doing this, I expect you to already know how this works.

3. Download the APKMirror Installer (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apkmirror.helper.prod&hl=en_US). It will require you to watch an ad when you install the APK, but you can uninstall it after you're done.

4. Download this APK, it's the latest pre-update Discord distribution: (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SSWdpi0Ms7wyHgDSSRqZgY4_G6r_wA0X/view?usp=drivesdk).

5. Use the APKMirror app to install the APK.

6. You're done! Launch it and log in. Feel free to uninstall APKMirror Installer and delete the APK file from your storage at this point, as you will not need them.

If you want to re-enable auto-updates for other things, follow these instructions in the app store:

- Enable aeroplane mode.

- Re-enable auto-updates of your choice (usually WiFi only).

- Navigate to the Discord app's settings in the app store.

- Disable Discord app's auto-update check box.

- Turn off aeroplane mode.

That's about it! Don't forget to leave them a negative review. If we can get a reversion of this update, that's the best outcome. Stay beautiful people.

Hi guys. Am sick rn, but had wanted to post this before I go and sleep.

Some of you may already know that patreon sent out an update that charges anyone using ios to subscribe to artist's patreons 30% more.

I immediately feel this impact mere hours later, and now, days later. I'm hemorrhaging patrons & have less income. It would mean the while world to me if you guys could please reblog this.

If you use the desktop version or the android app? you will not have to pay 30% more. Needless to say this decision of apple has completely fucked me over months and months to come, unless I somehow make up for my loss by other means.

I am working on uploading more art there, and more comics once I am done with my current contract as a comic artist.

I am currently partially homeless- so being alive in general is hard ;y; I wanted to focus more of my work on patreon, until this update- I only have one tier.

I am working as hard as I can, every month ♡ I am also the caretaker of three disabled people- as my dad, who used to do all the housework, is now too sick with a swollen liver that could possibly be connected to his heart problems, and my mama who has limited movement- she "died" of sepsis many years ago after giving birth to my sister, and was revived with nerve damage. I don't know the medical terms, but she was brain dead for however long, and was successfully brought back in a different hospital. She was comatose for months; this event has lead to my family losing everything in hospital bills, our car, our house (literally we became homeless) ah. But long story short, I am the only person in my family who works- as my sister is a teenager, and she is autistic with a very, very low frustration threshold, as she is also a picky eater and still going to school! I'm sorry, many of my followers already know this story by now, I have already doxxed myself multiple times trying to avert crisis after crisis, ahaha. But yes. Patreon added to my cart of Sorrows, and would love to have more folks who aren't using apple, or are using android and the web to come on over and maybe enjoy some of my private art up there. I post around 3-6 art a month, if I am lucky 7. I want to keep making art, and my patreon was what was giving me a semblance of stability until that silly update. Issue #1: It was discovered that account data could be at risk if your UID is shared publicly. While the risk is very low, we recommend keeping your UID private and sharing it only through personal messages, not on public forums. This vulnerability has been addressed in version 1.0.38100 (which should be already available on the App/Play Store or coming very soon). Please note that after updating to version 1.0.38100, your account will no longer work on earlier versions of the game.

Issue #2: We are investigating a Windows/Steam issue that could allow access to some existing profiles on these platforms. This issue does not affect iOS or Android users. We take this matter very seriously and are committed to further enhancing the security of Windows/Steam accounts in future updates.
