So I randomly found this blog and holy shit your most recent post resonated with me sm. I think the only part I can’t relate on is Pewdiepie, I just don’t care or watch many YouTubers in general (I genuinely struggle keeping up with stuff bc I literally live under piles of rock) but my go-to has always been the Cancer crew. I remember back then I legit made 4 ocs based on Max (Maxine specifically), Ian, Joji, and Chad. I redesigned them over the years but I could still see the influence the cc had on my younger self. Man I wish I could post or at least show those ocs sometimes but I know most ppl I know will not approve lolz. (cause you can still know the 4 is based on the cc, if you put them together that is)

ey, glad you could relate! i do agree with the youtuber thing to an extent— i didn’t really care about too many of them after i got old enough for shopkins unboxings and animal jam amvs to just not hit the same anymore. then i discovered cc, and now i’ll probably be trapped pouring my heart out over the most neurotic group of men i’ve ever encountered for a good long while. i wouldn’t claim to be blissfully ignorant when it comes to the routine fixations of chronically online individuals, per say, but it’s hard for me to kind of get engaged with a lot of trends beloved by the wider internet nowadays; i’m very content to mull around in my own little curated space with my people. i’ve witnessed what you’re referring to here a lot, actually, and always feel giddy when i can make a connection between someone’s benign, (or, on the opposite end of the spectrum, super convoluted and flashy) heavily contorted original characters and like, some gay content creator they fawn(ed) over. it’s largely inconspicuous, as well as a nice thing to look back on and, like you said, reminisce on how your interests in your younger years influenced your creations and such. i do wonder what you mean when you say most people you know “wouldn’t approve”— is it a matter of waiting to chastise you for making ocs based off youtubers that may be viewed as problematic? i notice that a good amount as well— when a content creator’s popularity declines, or they merely shift target audiences, a lot of the internet keeps a mental freeze frame of how they are/behave that may be inaccurate due to the simple fact they haven’t kept up with them in a long time, or just never did, only hearing about their content and such through the grapevine. i’m sure there are a lot of people out there who could only identify idubbbz as “that one guy who roasted leafy in 2016 and was not very conservative when it came to his slur usage”. something like that. guys like these may not be everyone’s forte, and their content definitely isn’t for the faint of heart, but i like to be secure in my morals and not swayed by the differing opinions of internet strangers. (not saying that you are— if this kind of stuff is considered too crass over on your turf, it probably is best to keep it to yourself ^^’). i’m sure your characters are very cute, though, and if you’d ever wanna share them while still lying low my submission box will continue to stay open until i die, or tumblr shuts down. whichever comes first.

So I had this insane idea to go back and read Powerpuff Girls Doujinshi and liveblog about it then condense them into youtube videos.

This all started because I was watching one of Rebeltaxi's videos and idk how but the gears aligned in my brain and was like:

"bro remember that edgy ass Powerpuff Girls Comic"

And I was SHOOK so I went to go check it out because I was genuinely curious and ITS. STILL. ONGOING. This fuckin dude Bleedman still churning this out almost 20 years later.

I started reading it when I was like 9-10 I wanna say. I watched Powerpuff Girls Z on youtube and got recommended a Blossom x Dexter AMV and was so confused as to who made the art and why there were ship videos so I looked up the comic and BOOM my child brain thought it was peak fiction and Bleedman was "SUCH A COOL ARTIST XP." I remember keeping up with it until around 2013-14 and slowly weened off of it. Even worse is that I also read Grim Tales (if you thought PPGD was edgy holy fucking shit this is a whole new level) and Invader Zim: Manifest Doom along with it.

(Ah the consequences of being a kid on the internet with no parental supervision...good times. /s)

And I'm sure people do remember it but I looked on youtube to find a retrospective of it and nothing showed up so I was like: "maybe I could do that."

So join me dear reader as I dive back into the absolute mess that is PPGD.

I mainly wanted to say that your tumblr blog is like a breath of fresh air as someone who saw a lot of the pokemon character shipping wars when I first got into the fandom around 2015. I'm also an amourshipper, it was my first ship and the way I got into fandom, but I genuinely love seeing other ships also get love, multishipping is so fun and just freeing, like why choose when you can just enjoy both!

Also do you had any amourshipping headcanons?

I've been in this fandom on YouTube and on Deviantart since 2007, I thought it was so peaceful compared to the current shipping fights, Of course I was a person who rarely looked at ship comments, since I wasn't interested. I have had contact with many if not multi-shippers, they were respectful and seemed to make fanart of everything (Poke, Advanced, Pearl, Negai...even Amourshipping and Yumeshippers or Canon X OC), I think it helped me to be neutral in that sense...

Oh I just love them so much, I have so many different headcanons I consider them as multi verses (UAs) both what I wrote in 2013-2018 and what I did in this fandom in 2019-2023.

Well, let's take it one step at a time. In 2013, I started watching XY and joined the fandom on Deepy. I watched absolutely everything other than AMVs...uh I looked at FanFiction FF net (I used page translation to read on my first phone) and saw that there were many other different things, I chose some ships to write about... specifically (Amourshipping/Mirroramourshipping) being the main ones from my pre-teen era the second one I chose to write about was, Palleshipping (I thought I had to have a separate account for everything so... I kind of did something like "I was a Palleshipper") which wasn't very cool, but I apologize because I was a kid and didn't know that, I didn't need to go THAT FAR, and could have posted this on my main (2014-2015) I started reading Shinsato, before I saw some things but...it was just hitting some random site lol, I just ignored it. Sapphirepearlshipping IS THE NEXT WHO I CHOOSE WRITE 😭🩷🤎🧡🥰

But reading it all and rewatching it I know I'm neutral to the palettes on screen. I also got to write Gary X Serena lol I just didn't see it happening in the show but it was fun to make this conflict of feelings so you could say it's my fanon (this was probably the beginning of my bi Ash Ketchum headcanon)

When I was younger I didn't know about the things that PokémonRangerboyguy did, but...I remember watching his own videos with Fancyfashionshipping (Dawn X Serena with Lost in you style) so it began + my wlw Serena agenda and Dawn lesbian even more deeply (despite knowing Sana x Serena and Miette X Serena...I was more neutral towards them too and saw them as friends/BFF)

I admit that in my new rewatch... I was more in favor of Serena X Aria imo...

Now, let's go to part 2, wlw SatoSere this is something that I simply, ONLY found out about entering the miraculous fandom, they usually have a VERY strong headcanon wlw ship or mlm ship or male/fem genderswap...male Marinette/ trans Marinette/ transfem Adrien/ fem Adrien Agreste etc. I just took this and did the same for SatoSere (I already wrote Adrien X Marin and Marinette X Adrianne (which helped me to do Amourdreamshipping) crosdessering Ash in fem Ash slash SatoSere...many things I couldn't finish or start in 2016-2017 because at the time I didn't have time (in high school I tried teacher training and it took up all my time 😭🫠 so I deleted all the stories I was working on)

Now, the third part is that I REALLY LIKED MIRRIOR ASH HE SO CUTE AND HOLY SHIT IT TOOK MY MIND ✨⭐ I DID SO MUCH THINGS WITH HIM THAT I CAN'T SAY one blog without becoming bigger than it already is 😭 but one universe in particular is that he is AUTISTIC (before I was diagnosed with autism) so this is my favorite. ❤️🫠

Thoughts on e6-e7 of The Terror

Continuing my first watch of The Terror, I just have to say... holy shit, that carnival!

I could tell something was going to go horribly wrong with how generically spooky it was, and I'd heard some vague spoilers of Dr. Stanley being a bad guy with respect to it. But he just straight-up arsoned the whole place in the most horrifically premeditated way possible. Possibly the most terrifying thing I've seen so far in the show, because while the Tunbaaq isn't real, overcrowded events with poor escape routes definitely are.

Also shocking was the fact that the guy Hickey stabbed there was an accident! I saw a second of that scene in an AMV pre-watching and I assumed that it was Hickey murdering things up Hannibal style. But actually Hickey was frantically trying to save the lives of everyone there and actively warning people that he was cutting through the tent. I cannot believe how much context completely 180'ed the meaning of that shot.

TBH if I hadn't watched e7 immediately afterwards I'd have wondered if the whole "Hickey is the show's villain" thing was an elaborate trick the Internet had agreed upon to prank new watchers. Even with e7 (when Hickey kills Irving and Farr) it seems hard for him to surpass Stanley's villainy? Maybe I'll be surprised.

The fact that the writers chose to have Hickey be the one coincidentally outside the tent, trying to save people, is... interesting. It's not that Hickey did anything particularly impressive or selfless what with moving the crates out of the way and cutting the tent open. But it's definitely a choice to make him more sympathetic (it could have been anyone outside the tent, in theory). I feel like I actually believe Hickey when he said that he found the dog with a broken leg (if he were lying, would he have admitted to killing the dog at all?) Relatedly, I'm glad we haven't heard anything more about the ship's cat—the dead dog and monkey were sad enough that I'm glad to be able to pretend that (somehow) the cat is happy and safe.

Also someone called me a Jopzier truther after my response to e1, and I was like "IDK, I don't even know these guys," but yes I 100% do ship Jopzier now. Jopson was so sweet taking care of Crozier when he wasn't feeling well! Plus Jopson was like "🥺🥺🥺 You didn't let me shave you or help you put on your underwear? 🥺🥺🥺 Plz dom me, sir, I can't function otherwise." and Crozier literally responded by promoting him. I feel like that might not have been what Jopson was aiming for, but still, sweet! (I started searching for Jopson content and immediately found Jopson/Hickey art, which I apparently also ship now despite first liking Jopson for the Jopzier angle.)

Speaking of shipping, I'm increasingly appreciating Goodsir/Lady Silence. You go girl, be the big spoon to your scared little man! I'm sure you two aren't doomed by the narrative at all...

I'm also disappointed that for all the fan content I've seen about Fitzjames's gender feels, he apparently doesn't even WEAR the dress? He just holds it up in front of himself??? Tragic. It looked like there were people in dresses at the carnival too, so he totally could have gotten away with it though only metaphorically; he literally might not have been able to escape the fire otherwise.
