i feel like Most dpxdc crossover fics have dp and dc in the same universe which like, is still fun don't get me wrong, but there's so many missed opportunities with them being in fully separate universes!

i'm specifically thinking of an au where the dcu is fictional in danny's universe like in ours. so instead of him being dropped in a random city, he's fully isekaid into the dcu and has to deal with the implications of that. danny not being a dc fan could def be interesting, but i personally really like the idea of him being a fan! i think he'd be really into characters like martian manhunter or the superfam since they're more directly related to space, but i think he'd have appreciation for the common dpxdc characters like the batfam too.

but anyway i'm just thinking of dc fan danny who somehow gets dropped into the dcu and is immediately clocked as Different and Knowing by literally every hero/vigilante there. damian screams bloody murder at him and danny just gives him this look like "i know what you've been through and you're just a kid so i won't hold it against you even though that was pretty mean" and damian is sooo pissed cause what the fuck does this guy know?? danny looks at jason like he's seeing robin and not red hood,,, he sees batman one day and gives him the most begrudging respectful and also highly judgemental glare. danny seeing clark on the street and immediately noping and turning around like no not dealing with superman today no thanks. danny randomly happens to be walking next to wally and tries to get him into a walking race. danny who keeps looking up at the sky whenever the watchtower is above him.

i just love the idea of danny walking around knowing way too much, not even necessarily being Powerful at this point, he just knows! too! much! and every hero who meets him feels completely exposed like how does this random kid give everyone the heebie jeebies.. what does he know.. how much does he know... why does he know... etcetc.

After getting into more parts of the DC fanbase the difference between how Batfans and non-Batfans act becomes really apparent. Like in the Batfandom people want their individual fav to have a leading role in an acclaimed ongoing series as a sign they are finally being respected by DC.

Meanwhile everyone else is celebrating when their favourite family/team/side of DC gets one decently written series every other year. Shout out to the Fourth World fans for getting a new New Gods series written by Ram V (for context the first one in 6 years, and the last wasn't even canonical). Aquafans, I'm holding out hope they will announce a new series for you guys at some point. Personally I am manifesting that one day we will get a single decent black canary solo series.

The other funny in a bad way thing about Bruce beating all his kids so effortlessly in a fight is like oh. So when you took them in and trained them, this is what it amounted to? You took the girl who could previously dodge bullets and now she can't even dodge a grappling hook? Why was Duke more capable a fighter before he had powers? Why did you let Steph's new costume have no eyemask when she started out with one? Dick has fought world level threats with the Titans yet he can't even take down one old man now that he's mostly working with the batfam? Forget the whole Selina and Bruce spiralling out of control thing the batkids deserve to beat Bruce's ass solely for his awful training if they can't even last five seconds fighting him all together.

OK, 'batfam' fic, if that is your real name. You say in your blurb that you include Batman's family. All of them. And yet, where is Duke? Duke Thomas seems to be missing. Surely that is an oversight. You wouldn't surely miss him out, seeing as he is firmly a part of that godforsaken family, now would you? You must have missed a tag. I would forgive you, however...

However, I cannot help but notice that Cassandra Cain is also missing. Now, why would that be? Surely that is a coincidence. You are missing two canon poc characters. And one of them is a woman. You clearly can include women, as Stephanie Brown is tagged (whether her inclusion is more than surface level as an attractive, snarky lamp remains to be seen). You have tagged Damian, but is he merely there to antagonise other characters? Does he lend anything to the story? Could he be replaced by a particularly annoying cat?

Now batfam fic, I am a patient woman. You have tagged all these other characters. You have tagged Wally West (why?), you have tagged Clark Kent (why?!?), you have even tagged a cardboard cutout you say is Kon (drop the Kon tag and step away). So why, why, is Duke Thomas not there? Why is Cass Cain not there?
