I've been toying with a "third transmigrator" AU for SVSSS in which the third transmigrator is a teenage girl who ends up in Luo Binghe. This teenage girl tried to read PIDW because someone else liked it, but didn't get far because she didn't like it.

Disinclined to follow the plot, the teenage girl decides to transition, because fuck it (crying breakdown), she doesn't want to be a guy. Ning Yingying is initially the only one in on it (and then some Qian Cao Peak people). This new Luo Binghe knows JUST enough about the plot of PIDW to avoid Shen Qingqiu's attention as much as possible and so swears Ning Yingying to secrecy regarding the transition. She intends to hide it until the Transmigration System lets up on the missions and restrictions a little.

Meanwhile, Shen Yuan is like, "How am I supposed to improve my relationship with the protagonist if i never see him? Did he just jump out a window to avoid me?! Also, hmph, the bullies are all calling him 'Luo-Shimei' now? Just because he's pretty??? I had better go tell them off for it!"

(Shen Qingqiu, please, your students are getting the impression that you're transphobic!!!)

If Luo Binghe's transition comes out before the Immortal Alliance Conference, Shen Yuan is going to 1) think it's his own fault somehow and 2) be more than a little weird (and a little transphobic) about it.

Shen Yuan (internally): "Oh, shit, NOT abusing the protagonist turned him into a girl??? How does that work???"

The endgame relationship here is a messy love triangle between Luo Binghe, Ning Yingying, and Ming Fan. Ming Fan is like, "What do you do when the shidi you hate falls down the stairs and nearly dies, and then apparently can't remember you used to bully him and expects you to be a good shixiong, and becomes best friends with the girl you like but also starts turning into a cute girl too??? But you can't tell Shizun any of this otherwise the girl you like will kill you???" Ning Yingying is like, "I was so caught up in the thrill of makeovers and having a new sister that I forgot to examine why, when she's approached by guys, I want to tear their throats out with my teeth. Ming-Shixiong is not good enough for A-Luo!!!" And Luo Binghe is like, "Wow, Ning Yingying is such a good friend. And so pretty. I could stare into her eyes for hours. Ming Fan is kind of a jerk sometimes, but he's cute, I guess. He needs to shape up if he wants to win Ning Yingying's heart someday! She married a guy, so she's definitely into guys."

This third transmigrator isn't paying too much attention to their own love life partially because they're too busy 1) trying to survive, 2) trying to do right by their friends, and 3) trying to figure out if Shen Qingqiu and Liu Qingge are in a "toxic yaoi relationship" and, if so, which one of them tops more frequently and where Yue Qingyuan fits into things.

If you haven't guessed yet, this third transmigrator is actually Shen Yuan's younger sister, who transmigrated at like 16 years old at the oldest. This identity reveal comes out at the Immortal Alliance Conference, seconds before disaster (the push into the Endless Abyss), and no earlier. It does not go well. The Transmigration System is mostly to blame.

Live Shang Qinghua Reaction: "Oh, fucking yikes, bro."

This Luo Binghe hands a lot of control over to Meng Mo to get out of the Endless Abyss. An inadvisable amount of control, really, even if Meng Mo is soft on the girl. Afterwards, they sort of stumble into the arms of Huan Hua Palace. Shen Yuan's sister did not read far enough to know pretty much anything about this sect, especially not that it's a terrible idea to be here while being both a Heavenly Demon and (post-transition) looking like even MORE of an identical clone of Su Xiyan.

(Tianlang-Jun and Zhuzhi-Lang ARE both going to be kind of awful and weird about it, yes, at least initially.)

Gongyi Xiao, after showing basic kindness to this poor young woman: "Hey, why are those two Qing Jing Peak disciples glaring at me like they want me dead?"

... i think a lot of people still see gender as a static thing in fiction, even if they're queer themselves. like, they think "this character who uses he/him and is a referred to as a boy in canon can't possibly be a trans girl! that would be problematic and transphobic!"

and like... did they forget, that there's a process? that trans people don't pop out of the womb with a pride flag and a pronoun pin and everything figured out? that being transgender implies that the gender, will, at some point, trans...? and that... the characters we write can mirror those experiences? and can still be positive representation without having to be a perfect mascot for cis people's approval?

i feel like it's... a similar kind of thought process to "this character was a minor once so you can't sexualize them". like, "this character was a boy once so you can't she/her them". but i don't know......

god, what happens next is so good. the character writing is just spectacular. it fascinates me just how much depth there is to each character and how that contributes to the story.

milo's dni is the most revealing thing about him, and it's the very first thing we hear from him:

right off the bat, we can see what kind of person the protagonist is. he's a pastel softboi trans man who clings to a childish aesthetic to appear weak and non-threatening. despite being involved in a toxic relationship with another trans guy who attempted to rape and kill an 11 year old girl when he was a teenager and later murdered his girlfriend, which milo helped with by dismembering her corpse, he puts "pedophiles and unhealthy pairing shippers dni" on his carrd. which, ok, maybe he wants to distance himself from people like griffin now - except that's not really true, because he talks to, moves in with, and regularly hangs out with a serial killer fan who idolizes griffin and is even dating the guy while he's in prison. he puts "being against neopronouns" and "anti-otherkin" on the same level as those things. he explicitly denies any responsibility in the murders of haylie and savannah, despite having literally chopped haylie's arm off. all the while, he has "you deserve to heal" in big bold letters, while not applying that belief to anyone but himself.

right from the start, it's obvious that milo is not a good person. but he's also humanized throughout the story. sure, some of his softboi persona is a means of victimizing himself to avoid taking responsibility for what he did - and you could make the case that he was a victim in some ways. on the other hand, he also never got to grow up because he spent 5 years in a psychiatric institute. is it any surprise that he clings to the same aesthetic, interests, and hobbies he had when he was 15? he never got to stop being a kid, and how is he supposed to now? he didn't graduate high school, he can't get a job, and nobody wants to be friends with him because of what he did. it raises uncomfortable questions - namely, what happens next? milo served his time for the crime he committed as a minor. he was already punished, but now he has to live the entire rest of his life. what is he supposed to do?

that, I think is the most interesting part of this story. almost every character in this story makes it hard for you to like them, but they also have very human reasons for doing the terrible things that they do. I'll talk about some of my favorites under the read more, but be aware that there will be spoilers:

claire is one of the most interesting characters to me, just because of how unlikable she is.

when we first see claire in victim impact statement, she tries to ignore haylie, griffin, and milo as much as possible. she doesn't even seem to like her sister. she treats haylie as a nuisance for coming into the room that they share as sisters. she doesn't want to go to the open mic night to listen to haylie play her ukulele. when she finds haylie bawling her eyes out in the bathroom at anime central, she just looks away, as if to say "you chose to date your shitty boyfriend". when she hears haylie and griffin fighting upstairs, she just pretends not to hear it. when haylie is curled up in terror later, claire puts on headphones and turns her back to her. her headphones become a way of drowning out haylie's screams when griffin is around, and because of that, she doesn't hear haylie screaming for her life, and ends up finding her corpse in the kitchen.

that's why I don't find it surprising at all that she becomes an outspoken transphobe who wants to take her anger out on the trans people who murdered her sister. she goes to media events and publicly degenders milo and griffin. she calls aaron's friends trannies. I think it's easy to misconstrue her as a terf, but she literally doesn't even pay lip service to feminism. how could she? she knew that her sister was being abused by her boyfriend, and she did nothing. let me remind you that she lives in a house where "smash the patriarchy" is embroidered on the wall. she doesn't care about any of that. she just wants a scapegoat. she wants to make the law impose harsher punishments on minors who commit violent crimes because she doesn't know what else to do with her life. she very clearly hates herself, becoming an alcoholic to cope with her guilt. she pretends to care about haylie and fight for this law because it's the only way she can convince herself she's a good person, even though she can see that doing what she's doing is turning everyone against her.

and then that brings us to audrey. it's difficult to like her, too, because she's dating claire despite all of the horrible things she's doing. but at the same time, I can see where she's coming from. her mother died of cancer and she and all of her other black siblings were adopted by conservative christian white parents. she's still christian to this day, and makes a point of separating herself from "criminals" by insisting that she has nothing to do with them because she goes to church and takes care of her family. she doesn't want to disavow the law that claire worked so hard to pass because at the end of the day, it won't affect her personally, even though she is aware that the justice system disproportionately punishes black people. she very clearly has a lot of internalized racism, and I think that's best exemplified in the way she draws herself. despite having pretty dark skin in real life, she draws herself as light skinned as claire, her white girlfriend:

like, it's hard to like audrey, but you can clearly see why she's made all of the decisions she has! she idolizes claire because it's her first lesbian relationship. the way she sees it, claire can do no wrong. audrey does actually seem to be aware that her girlfriend is doing terrible things, but she essentially just plugs her ears and tries to ignore it. that's why she doesn't go to claire's campaign events. she ignores all of her girlfriend's flaws because claire is essentially her savior. because she has claire, she doesn't have to go back to her family, to her abusive alcoholic white father. she doesn't have to actually take care of her younger siblings, which is a responsibility she's foisted off unto mark. that's why she ignores that claire is just as much of an emotional drain as her father. she's highly depressed, she's an alcoholic, she trashes their bedroom (leaving audrey to clean up after her mess), she puts up an emotional wall and dismisses audrey's attempts to comfort her, and dismisses audrey's own problems as being less traumatizing and less important. by all accounts, claire is a terrible girlfriend and a terrible person, but because audrey idolizes her as her savior, she stays by her side. I'm really looking forward to seeing how she reacts to claire's disappearance in future chapters.

and then of course, there's vikki. she's been doing something incredibly disrespectful for years by making true crime videos where she talks about the victims and killers like it's all a joke. she makes a video about whether ethical necrophilia is possible, and makes a callous, bitter joke that the concept of "respect for the dead" is antiquated, because nobody respects her as a trans woman of color even though she's still alive. for this comment, people have harassed her online endlessly, enough that she had to make a video called "STOP TELLING PEOPLE I FUCK CORPSES". that doesn't stop her from making a video about the murder of haylie, complete with an interview from milo. she'll throw him under the bus if it means getting the attention off herself for a bit.

and yet, I think out of everyone, I feel the most compassion for vikki. yes, she used milo for content and called him a "sad little blonde girl", but I can understand where she's coming from! like, again, she's a trans woman of color in the true crime community. she knows the archetype milo is trying so hard to be in order to avoid taking responsibility for what he did. like, I've personally seen trans women of color who are victimized by white trans men who pull the same exact shtick as milo over and over, so I completely understand her frustration. that said, she also realized she went too far and tried to apologize, only to find out she was blocked and that milo basically wrote a callout post against her. I think it says a lot that vikki was one of the only people to actually try to talk to milo, even if the way she went about it was wrong.

vikki does things that are disrespectful, but to be honest, it's not that surprising! she grew up in a 90% white town in the middle of nowhere, got assaulted by multiple white boys for being a faggot, got sent to alternative school, worked for a funeral home as a teenager, and transitioned. not only is she desensitized to death, she's angry that people revere the dead more than her.

it's astounding, really! what happens next is so well written because it makes you feel conflicted about each of its characters. what are we supposed to do with these people who do awful things? a lot of the intrigue in this comic comes from seeing how each of the characters handles this question as they deal with the other characters who have done terrible things, while they themselves are deeply flawed as well. I think the writing really forces you to contend with the idea that these are all still people, and that their humanity needs to be recognized even if they do terrible things. it makes you ask, what happens next?

Steve blackman i will never not have time to drag you you fucking bitch. You not only ruined a good show with your shitty choices for the fourth season and cut back 6 to 4 but you also blatantly ignored david castenada who tried telling you in the nicest way possible that that fuck ass choice of making a love triangle was uncomfortable and weird. I can't look at any of the interviewings for season 4 because I can feel this thick tension that is awkward between all of them. But lets not just talk about that lets talk about your fucking controversy that has just appeared of you allegedly making a toxic bullying work environment for your staffers. 12 anonymous people gave complaints to HR about your fucking behavior. You pitted staff against each other making an angry and untrustworthy working environment. Oh lets not also talk about the fact there were complaints of your ass making lewd remarks that people said were sexist, homophobic and transphobic. Elliot page praised you for your fucking handling of his characters transition but other sources say you also would praise your team and staff in public and than go behind there back and bully them in private you fucking two faced scumbag. You also would ice out your own fucking staff if they didnt fall in line with what you wanted or would blatantly get rid of them. How fucking power hungry do you have to be to do that shit. Lets not also forget that you were a bastard to a poor pregnant woman who didnt tell you she was pregant when she was hired and had to go on maternity leave so you failed to extend her contract because she didnt make it your business she was pregant you fucking creep. You gossiped and talked shit about your own staff but really you should praise them since they're there to help make this show run. Their there to make this whole operation not fucking crumple and you’d think you’d give them some sort of respect but you wanna act like a little bitch and whine and cry when you dont get your way and get called out when they dont wanna do something that is uncomfortable for not just them but everyone else. Let's also not talk about how you did not give proper credit to those who made scenes and stories for the show and took all that credit for yourself. On top of all that, I think people should check your computer because you had no problem making a creepy relationship between two vastly differently aged actors. Aidan Gallagher is freshly of age to depict mature romantic relationships within tv shows and you instead of finding someone who is more closely to his age you pick the actress that he GREW UP AROUND. HE WAS A CHILD WHEN THEY FIRST MET. But also fuck Aidans parens too for not maybe coming out and saying that this is fucking creepy. Maybe they where silenced and paid off to stay quiet but looking at Rob gallaghers creepy and controversial fucking behavior anyway, i dont think it took much for them to be silent. The fact that you deny any and all allegations of any of those claims and your representatives tried to save your ass steve and than there was a investigation which surprise sur-fucking-prise was less than comprehensive. You probably paid those investigators off to get off your ass and have your representatives scrambling so you don’t get cancelled and you keep lining your pockets with money that you probably stole from your staff too since you wanna steal their work. so might as well double it and give it back to yourself, right? . I can't say I'm super knowledgeable on the topic of being transgender, but I'll try my best to depict it well! If anything is inaccurate or offensive please tell me so I can fix it! <3

Synopsis: Leona comforts trans male reader after they overhear another student making a nasty comment when they were already having a bad day.

TW: transphobia (I try to keep it light); Leona tells reader to strip (not in that way, ya nasties (thought about it tho)); deep talk; ooc Leona?; Leona calls reader a "bott-" but gets elbowed before he can finish (I wonder what he was trying to say 🤔)

Pairing: Leona Kingscholar x Trans Male Reader

Some days really do just suck, and today was one of those days. You had woken up late this morning and forgotten your bag in your rush to get ready. When you did get the chance to go get your bag during lunch it had been raining and nobody had an umbrella you could borrow so you had to run back to the dorm in the pouring rain. Once there you found out that your bag had been set right under a leak in the roof and had gotten completely soaked, ruining an assignment that was due today in the process. You had to walk umbrellaless on the way back as well because, as it turns out, your umbrella was actually in your locker. And, of course, to make things worse, you got after-school detention because of your ruined assignment. Even if Trein offered to still give you full points if you could finish the assignment that evening because he knew it wasn't your fault, it still sucked. By the time the day was over, you were still damp and entirely peeved.

You were standing under the awning outside the main doors to the school: staring at your broken umbrella and remembering why it was that you left it in your locker, but too tired to get any more upset, when you heard it.

A couple of students that were walking by were not-so-silently whispering to each other. What were they snickering about? Well, because your uniform shirt was wet you could see your binder. However, that was just what seemed to start them. After the binder comments they moved on to talk about how you'd never be a real man and make other comments that were entirely unoriginal.

Yet, no matter how many times you hear those words, they're still hurtful, and, after the day you'd had, that was all it took to push you over the edge. You walked out into the rain, trashed umbrella in your hand hanging at your side, and trudged through the flooded walkways (because of course the drains were clogged) and cried. The rain disguised your tears as you exhaustedly made your way to Ramshackle: mentally preparing yourself for the state it would be in from the rain.

Soaking wet, you make it to the last stretch to your dorm when CRACK! A branch fell a few yards in front of you: completely blocking your path home.

Before you knew it, you collapsed to the ground. You sat there crying for what felt like hours before finally tiredly standing up and stumbling to the botanical gardens. At least you would be able to take shelter there.

The door swung open with so much force you thought it would fly off the hinges or shatter when it hit the wall due to the wind that had picked up substantially since you started toward the glass structure. Luckily, neither happened and you somehow managed get the door shut behind you.

The gardens were dark, lit only by solar lights stuck into the ground on the edges of the paths and a few hanging lanterns. The structure creaked and moaned all around you and the wind and rain pelted it violently. You weren't sure where you were going, but you trudged further into the gardens with a gait that could only be described as zombie-like.

It was only when you reached a large tree near the back end of the gardens that you finally collapsed. With your back against the trunk, you pulled your knees to your chest and let your face fall into them. You were too tired to cry, but you weren't too tired to think. And think you did.

You only realized you'd been muttering to yourself the whole time when the bushes next to you started rusting and a pretty peeved looking Leona stepped out.

"What dorm?"

"Huh?"

"I'm asking you what dorm those *sshats were from." Leona sighed as he squatted in front of you.

"I di-"

"And don't say you didn't see"

". . ."

Leona sighed once again but didn't push you further. Instead, he sat in front of you and untied his uniform jacket from his waist. "Strip"

"WHAT?!" You suddenly bolted up and shrieked so loud the thunder was put to shame.

"Sevens, Herbivore! Stop screamin'! You'll get sick if you stay in those soaked clothes." Leona's ears are flat against his head as he speaks. "You can wear this. It should cover ya enough" He extends his uniform jacket to you looking away from you.

He realizes you're hesitating and drops the jacket on the ground in front of you before turning away from you fully. A deep sigh escapes his lips once more "Look, bein' a man ain't about lookin a certain way. I. . .I know it probably sucks lookin' at your body and seein'. . .well. . .not what ya want to, but I know that I for one don't see you as any less because of it. . .Bein' a real man, a good man, means being a good person. As far as I'm concerned, you've got that covered."

There's a few moment of silence before he hears the rustling of clothes. After a few moments of silence again he figures you're done and goes to turn around only to be stopped by you launching yourself at his back and holding him in place.

He seems to understand without having to ask and readjusts to once more sit facing away from you. Your arms slowly release from around his waist as you hesitantly sit with your back pressed to his.

"I'm sorry," your quiet voice speaks up from behind him "I just. . .I don't want you seeing me like this."

A gruff huff reverberates through his chest but it's not out of frustration; rather, it's out of understanding. "Like what? Looking like a bott-"

A swift elbow back shuts him up pretty quick. "No! Looking. . .well. . .feminine"

"Whatcha mean feminine? You're wearing the manliest guy in school's jacket. Ya sayin' I'd look girly if I wore it?"

You take note of Leona's wording and a hint of appreciation blooms in your chest. You know Leona isn't trying to say looking "girly" is bad despite how it may sound to someone listening in. He's trying to give you an affirmation that you can believe you look how you want. And, at the same time, he's not asking you "what's wrong with looking feminine" as so many others have in the past. He understands the state of mind you must be in right now and that it's not that you think feminine is bad, but, rather, that you need to feel secure in your identity.

"No." a soft, breathy laugh leaves your throat at the absurdity of, in your mind, the thought of Leona Kingscholar ever being perceived as "girly" is.

"Then why would it make you look like a woman?"

"Because it's swallowing me and I'm wearing it like a dress? Not to mention, . . .my thighs and most of my chest are visible. And they don't exactly scream 'man.'

Leona sighs at your words but it doesn't sound impatient or fed up. "You always tell Epel he looks manly and he has a pretty similar build to you. You need to stop using such wildly different standards for yourself."

"Leona-"

"I know, I know. That's not something you can change just by me saying it, but you need to practice to make it a mindset you can in."

You're silent. You neither agree nor protest.

"Next time ya think ya look girly or whatever, imagine me with whatever it is that makes ya feel that way."

"Huh?"

"I'm a pretty 'manly' guy, aren't I? Would I still look like a dude even if I had plush thighs, tits, or wore an oversized shirt?"

"Well. . .not exactly. But your face-"

"Nope. If I could still pass as a man with those features then so will you. I'm not saying to believe that or stop thinking negatively right this moment. Work on it."

The space falls silent of your talking, the only sound being that of the wind and rain pelting the building.

"Leona. Do you see me as a man?"

"I already told you my standards for a man, but even if we're goin' off the ones old hacks use, you got the majority. You're determined, respectful, humble, aren't bound by what other herbivores think you have to be, and you're capable."

"Then why don't I feel like it."

Leona sighs once more "I can't say, but to me it seems that at least part of it is because you don't like yourself enough."

"Of course I don't like myself, Leona" it's your turn to sigh.

"Yeah, and if ya wanna be who ya wanna be some day, ya gotta give yourself the space to."

". . .Since when did you talk so much, let alone about such deep stuff."

"Wanna see how far I can throw you?"

You sit like that for a while in silence: backs pressed against each other's in the grass.

You're the one who breaks the silence: "Leona?"

"What is it now, Herbivore."

"You can turn around"

"Eh?"

"I know I said I didn't want you seeing me like this: didn't want you seeing me the way I see me, but. . .I think I want to see me the way you see me."

Leona huffs but turns around just enough to look at you with his signature smug grin "So, are we racing to see who can influence the other first?"

"I. . .I guess so."

"Great, but I'll have you know: I don't lose."

"What about that time at the spelld-"

"Herbivore" he cuts you off "My non violence policy only extends to woman and children. You aren't either. Watch it."

That elicits a genuine laugh from you.

Within the week news comes in that the boys who had walked by and made nasty comments about you were suspended for 2 weeks. You never told Leona who it was. . ..

You probably already received this question way back in the day, but I feel it would be interesting to hear your current perspective on the matter now that Veilguard released.

What are your thoughts on the decision to keep Solas' romance locked to female only? (the whole Lavellan only aspect being a topic of its own I feel) Personally I just don't see Solas as considering physical sex as important anyway, especially with his spirit background in mind. Now gender might be another thing, but I still can't see it as impacting his preferance one way or another.

To go back to a more Doylist perspective.. I know the writers considered having him be open for all genders in Inquisition, but decided against it due to fear of playing into the depraved bisexual trope.

Which I find ridiculous, since Solas in no shape or form exhibits any of the characteristics associated with it, other than being in an antagonistic role. The only way I could see it being problematic at all is if he had been the only bi/pan option in the game and that is just not the case.

My canon Inquisitor is a male Lavellan and I have always considered him and Solas as having feelings for each other. To have Inquistion and now Veilguard block that possibility out is more than a little frustrating I have to say. I honestly wouldn't have minded if Veilguard had just given the option to say you romanced Solas as a male Lavellan anyway, but I know that would have caused more drama.

Hey, I'm really sorry I am only getting to this wonderful ask now! Sometimes I go through periods of putting off messages until I forget about them...

Even before the DATV revelations that Solas and the other first ancient elves went to the build-a-body workshop rather than being born of a womb, in DAI, Solas expressed a distinction between physical body and person-hood. Solas advocates that spirits are still people, even if they don't have a physical body to define them. He also has a lot of dialogue that talks about how much he admires the Inquisitor's "rare and marvellous spirit," which can easily be read as his attraction not fitting sex or gender into the equation.

It makes sense to me that spirits, and ancient elves who come from spirits like Solas, would probably have a different perspective on sex and gender than those from modern day Thedas. Like, he predates any gender and orientation-based discriminatory views in Thedas! He predates bodies period!

I agree that simply making Solas bi while keeping the rest of him as he is would not have led to any problematic biphobic tropes. But even if it did... why draw the line at Solas, but not other characters? This is the same game with Sera after all, is full of lesbophobic and transphobic writing! If the explanation was simply "we didn't have time to make animations for everyone with his character" I would understand more; Solas's romance was after all added only at the very tail-end of development iirc.

Anyway, I 100% support bi Solas, and by extension, people who make fan content of him falling in love with male or enby characters!

Okay so there's a person I meet with at work events sometimes and when we do meetings the person says "pass" or just a head shake during pronoun introductions and I can't tell if it's awkwardness or discomfort or transphobia or what- I introduce myself as He/She so the person should know it's a queer-friendly space but I'd understand if they wanted to stealth it without lying, but I am unsure what pronouns to use when talking about/referring to the person

The person is traditionally masculine-presenting, and if they're transphobic then deliberately switching up pronouns until the person corrects me might open up a long-term workplace conflict that I'd rather avoid

Anyways to clarify- horror sans lobotomizing alphys doesn't make the character abelist- the reaction to it as something she 'deserved' is abelist. I'm talking about the fan reaction and the authors role in choosing this as something to base her character around. *authors can be unintentionally offensive but their writing choices should be allowed to be critiqued.*

Horror sans and the rest of the horror tale cast 'going insane' as they are slowly starved and being turned into actual murderers is an abelist writing decision in the same way movies like Texas chainsaw massacre rely on abelist tropes to demonize people with mental and physical disabilities. Again- you can like horrortale- I like horrortale- I don't think this was the authors original intention either- it's just really REALLY infuriating how you cant seem to point these things out without people jumping to fictional characters defense.

Rocky horror picture show is a wonderful piece of queer media and is widely beloved- but it still uses transphobic tropes to tell its story. It's a good piece of queer media but it's still transphobic and I'd like to be able to idk TALK about the issues in the ut au fandom without people purposefully misreading the things I am saying because it happens to involve their blorbo.

Horror sans the character is not abelist. But the writing choices surrounding the work he comes from uses abelist tropes to tell the story and I think it's lame how incapable this fandom is of writing 'morally neutral characters' without falling back on hurtful tropes and stereotypes.

We can talk about how papyrus and/ blueberry are infantalized for having autistic traits but I can't talk about dust sans being a textbook example of the 'serial killer schizophrenic'????? Plz don't tag as au negative this isint me talking about how much I dislike sans aus, I do like them I just don't like how I can't talk about my dislike of aus that use abelist tropes and don't even deconstruct them. i think a lotttt of newly out or young trans people just. don't know who blair white is. don't remember kalvin garrah (although i heard he's apologised now?). don't remember the absolute onslaught of "tucute caricatures" in the mid-2010s, and the criticisms and eventual discarding of it. ive been out and online in some form or another for, holy fucking shit, a full decade now, and having watched all this unfold and change and mutate into the discourse we have today, while more and more laws are being made against our existence across different countries is... look, if your post attempts to invoke other trans people's dysphoria, or calls them a tucute/transtrender without saying it outright, or dismisses their experiences of transphobias as not real/not bad, then you're not combatting transphobia within the community, you are the transphobia within the community. you're being a transmed. saw a post that was like "oh it's not safe for you to transition? its not safe to do anything, take the estrogen" yeah or how about we respect people's abilities to judge whether they're safe or not??? Pearl finds out Scott's trans before Scott even knows he's trans. Pearl's limerent, and with Scott being his limerent object and farfriend, it ain't hard to put the pieces together that Scott's a 'liiiil trans of the gender! Given Pearl stalks his browsing history ('is it possible for women develop facial hair?' 'is it normal to feel like you want to be a boy?' 'diets to reduce breast size?'), and monitors his activities (he watches on the clothes stores videofeed at Scott discreetly checking out the men's section on stores, only buying sports bras, looks for one-piece swim suits instead of two-pieces), and he figures out his 'girlfriend' might not be so girl after all, before Scott's even figured out his discomfort with his femininity issssssn't really normal for a cis person.

You could say he gives Scott a few nudges in the right direction. Pearl buys extra clothes for 'himself' that, woops, he ordered 'em wrong, they actually came in Scott's size, and, well, it'd be a waste to return them, wouldn't it, so why doesn't Scott just keep 'em, instead? He makes a big show of coming out as bisexual to his 'girlfriend', bemoans about how pretty men are, and wouldn't Scott just make the cutest guy? Pretends to 'slip up' and accidentally refer to Scott as a he instead of a she, even though it's far from a mistake whenever he gets to watch Scott light up at being referred to with masc pronouns like a lightbulb.

With Pearl's help, really, it's only a matter of time until Scott's egg cracks, and he admits he might want to be a boy. Pearl, of course, is unrelenting supportive... in fact, Pearl had already bordered dozens of custom-fit at-home binders for when he inevitably came out, already created him a pinterest moodboard full of potential new haircuts or fits, already created him a list of hundreds of personally-picked masculine names he thought that Scott might want to consider for his new one. Pearl makes sure it's well and known that he loves Scott no matter what and that he supports his new boyfriend unconditionally.

Pearl also makes it well known that everyone else will not.

Now, their community isn't necessarily transphobic, but Pearl makes sure Scott thinks it is. Pulls up news articles about trans-based hatecrimes in the area (who cares if they're a little dated? Scott doesn't need to know that), brings it upon himself to sneak out at night and write transphobic graffiti near Scott's local hangouts where he knows Scott'll see it, even deepfakes old Twitter posts or texts about Scott's friends being transphobic. Pearl subtly manipulates him into thinking the the truth is: only Pearl is safe. He can only be his true self around Pearl. Everybody else will hurt and hate him if they knew. His friends aren't really his friends; they won't be if they find out. Pearl's the only one who will ever accept him.

Pearl even slips estrogen into his food, occasionally, watching as he only grows more dysphoric (he can't dress masculinely in public, they'll know; he can't ask to be referred to with proper pronouns, they'll know; he can't have top surgery or take supplments, they'll know), and so more reliant on Pearl for comfort. Pearl is the only one he can trust, the only one who would accept his truest self, the only one who would call him a man.

It's only a matter of time before Scott shuts everyone else out under the impression they'd hate him if they knew who he was, convinced his entire support system is ragingly transphobic and Pearl is the only one who would ever accept him...

✝️I really really like my ocs Mikeal, Santiago, Andias, Bernadette, and Aldyth (the church OCS) I post about them a lot.

📼I'm in the middle of a huge project with these characters, I can't decide between a podcast or a novel series but I'm currently working on the books. I have zero podcast experience so I'm kinda just experimenting with that.

✍️Other than working on those I am also a poet (I have written many many poems) and I also write non-fiction (mostly memoirs) and short story's of many genres.

I have OCD, Depression, GAD, SAD, Autism, and C-PTSD/PTSD (all are diagnosed/confirmed by professional) (I'm also getting help so YAY)

I have PCOS and anemia as well as chronic fatigue.

🦴I collect bones and I like vulture culture. I am also very interested in human anatomy and medical examinations (I'm not an expert I just think it's neat).
