~ ♔ ꧁ OTMA ꧂ ♔ ~
❧ “In the darkness of the mystery which surrounds the fate of these innocent children it is with poignant emotion that I recall them as they appeared, so full of life and joy, in those distant, yet incredibly near, days before the World War and the downfall of Imperial Russia.”
❧ “Olga was perhaps the cleverest of them all, her mind being so quick to grasp ideas, so absorbent of knowledge that she learned almost without application or close study. Her chief characteristics, I should say, were a strong will and a singularly straightfor, ward habit of thought and action.”
❧ “Tatiana was almost a perfect reincarnation of her mother. Taller and slenderer than her sisters, she had the soft, refined features and the gentle, reserved manners of her English ancestry. Kindly and sympathetic of disposition, she displayed towards her younger sisters and her brother such a protecting spirit that they, in fun, nicknamed her "the governess."
❧ “Marie had splendid eyes and rose-red cheeks. She was inclined to be stout and she had rather thick lips which detracted a little from her beauty. Marie had a naturally sweet disposition and a very good mind.”
❧ “Anastasia, a sharp and clever child, was a very monkey for jokes, some of them at times almost too practical for the enjoyment of others. I remember once when the family was in their Polish estate in winter the children were amusing themselves at snowballing. The imp which sometimes seemed to possess Anastasia led her to throw a stone rolled in a snowball straight at her dearly loved sister Tatiana. The missile struck the poor girl fairly in the face with such force that she fell senseless to the ground. The grief and horror of Anastasia lasted for many days and permanently cured her of her worst propensities to practical jokes.”
- Anna Vyrubova (friend and personal confidante of Empress Alexandra Feodorovna)

CLONE HIGH CLOTHING SWAP!!(I'm gonna lore drop abt them but more importantly Anna )
Yayy lore time. So Anna is the clone of Anastasia Romanovna but she says she's the clone of Anastasia Romanov. This is because the other Anastasia Romanov is more well known and I like to include historical references in stuff. From what I know her body was never officially found, she was considered a mystery she was important because of that. Many people think she lived and escaped instead of being killed. Some people also pretended to be her or tried to for money from the aunt as is shown in the Disney movie. specifically Anna Anderson I think which is why I nicknamed her Anna. (If anyone needs to correct me on some of this stuff Ik its been a while since I've done research on the topic I've been researching other stuff.)
When Anna was cloned her foster father believed she was that Anastasia, so up until she was like 11 or so she believed she was Anastasia Romanov, she felt important. She watched the movie and loved the idea of being a princess, of being the one everyone was waiting for. Until one day scudworth told her she was wrong and got the names mixed up. So Anna saw Ivan and cried her eyes out. She didn't want to be the clone of some guys wife. She wants to be more important than that and not live in his shadow. She thinks she's important and seeing her dad disappointed about that really hurt her. So she decided that she was going to just cope. She'd forget everything scudworth said and live that lie. And it felt great for her, she brags about it alot. Though she's gone so far into coping she does almost believe it. because of that she's obsessed with popularity and living up to the real Anastasia Romanov. She wants to be famous, she studies hard and everything. She's even a cheerleader. Because of the coping thing it does make her view other people just as extensions of their clone parents. She thinks everyone thinks the way she does cause she's preppy. Also on why she expects people to be extensions of the clone parents is also due to some self loathing because of who she really is. That doesn't make her any less annoying though but I forgive her❤
Orginally Anna and Ivan were a ship because she couldn't fight her genes or whatever that's been erased actually I decided it'd be more interesting of she was a lesbian. ivan and her are still rivals. She doesn't know she's a lesbian yet tho cause comphet she's also Topher stepsister!! Basically they hate hate each other at first for obvious reasons and Topher even blackmails Anna. Then he does reveal who he's a clone of and she full on ignores him and calls him disgusting for like a week. But eventually they talk and they become a little closer? Anna starts understanding people aren't just their clone parents and she still like trying I guess? Topher also learns to not blackmail her so yay They have some solidarity, a little. They still don't like each other but its more in a sibling way.
Okay now Fyodor. Gonna guess no-one(but like one person) knows who Fyodor Basmanov is. I learned about him through some movies, basically Ivan the terrible had this alleged male lover. He was in the Oprichnina, like a secret police Ivan had made, and he rose in ranks fast. He was known as the favorite of the Tsar many people thought they were a thing(probably). There was rumors he'd wear skirts and dance for Ivan and stuff. Whether or not that's true in the Ivan the terrible movies he's in they actually do address it. In the 1940s two part one he sings this song abt killing people in a dress and a mask that is supposed to resemble Anastasia Romanovna in the beginning of the film. Which is actually why I made them do a clothing swap in the post. In the 1991 version he is sooo pretty and I can't understand everything in the film because no subtitles but I was able to get some context to what was happening. The story from what I know goes Fyodors the favorite and he uses that alot over other people, he sits next to the Tsar during meals and stuff, poisons people for him etc, then he tries to trick this other guy to get rid of him with witchcraft but word got back to Ivan and now they think Fyodor committed treason. So hes like no not me!!come on Ivan listen to me I'll tell everyone about us or something like that I don't know I could only understand some and he's dragged away. Real Fyodor apparently did get accused of treason by Ivan and he was ordered to kill his father. Some say then Fyodor was executed others say he was just sent away I don't know what really happened. Shrugs. Anyway
I made a clone of him just because I can ❤yay❤ he's Ivans ex friend they don't hang out anymore because Ivan thinks he's better than him. Fyodors just a chronically online guy that uses discord too much(gamer). He wears skirts too not for Ivan just cause I like gnc characters. Yay❤. Also Ivan and him weren't a thing though Fyodor probably does have a crush on him for a bit, the most Ivan does for him is buy him discord nitro. Which he doesnt do anymore. Fyodor does still sometimes try be friends with the bleacher creatures mainly cause sometimes he feels like he's nothing without Ivan so. Yeah. He's unsuccessful tho he's annoying af. He's cringe. He thinks it's funny tho
Anyway just realized I made three clones of Ivan the terrible lovers and I don't ship any of them with him(Maria's the third ill post about her another day. Her and Anna get together tho) this guy had like eight wives. I should really just clone all of them and make them a polycule(minus Ivan ofc) this is why I shouldn't study historical figures

For over two decades, President Vladimir Putin has squeezed dissent in Russia. Critics, journalists, and defectors have faced dire consequences after opposing him. From poisonings to shootings, mysterious falls from windows, and even plane crashes, there is a long trail of silenced voices.
Alexei Navalny, whose death in prison is as yet unexplained, had previously fallen ill on a flight from Siberia to Moscow in 2020 after being poisoned with Novichok, a nerve agent. Alexander Litvinenko, a former Russian spy who defected and was a prominent Putin critic, was murdered with polonium-210 in London in 2016.
Other deaths of opposition figures under Putin's rule also appear to follow a pattern. Boris Nemtsov, shot dead near the Kremlin, and Stanislav Markelov, assassinated in Moscow alongside journalist Anastasia Baburova, are just two examples. Natalia Estemirova, abducted and found dead in Chechnya, and Anna Politkovskaya, an investigative journalist murdered in her Moscow apartment building, also paid the ultimate price following their dissent.
Here are 10 prominent Putin critics who have died in assassinations or mysterious circumstances.
Alexei Navalny
Date of death: February 16, 2024
Cause of Death: Alexei Navalny died in prison. The Russian prison service reported that he felt unwell after a walk and lost consciousness.
Biography: Alexei Navalny was a prominent critic of Vladimir Putin. He gained global attention in 2020 when he survived a poisoning with the nerve agent Novichok. Navalny willingly returned to Russia from Germany in 2021, where he had received treatment for the previous poisoning. Upon his return, he was promptly arrested. Navalny was known for exposing corruption, investigating Putin's inner circle, and leading anti-Kremlin opposition movements. His death is likely to be seen by fellow opposition members as a political assassination attributable to Putin, but is as yet unexplained.
Mikhail Lesin
Age: 57
Date of Death: November 5, 2015
Cause of Death: Mikhail Lesin was a former Russian press minister and media executive. He fell out of favor with Putin and faced scrutiny for his wealth. Lesin was found dead in a Washington, D.C. hotel room. The official cause of death was ruled as accidental blunt force injuries, but questions persist about the circumstances.
Boris Nemtsov
Age: 55
Date of Death: February 27, 2015
Cause of Death: Boris Nemtsov was shot dead on a bridge near the Kremlin. His murder remains unsolved, but many believe it was politically motivated. Nemtsov was a vocal critic of Putin's government, advocating for democracy, human rights, and transparency. He served as a deputy prime minister under President Boris Yeltsin and later became a prominent opposition figure.
Boris Berezovsky
Age: 67
Date of Death: March 23, 2013
Cause of Death: Boris Berezovsky was a wealthy businessman, oligarch, and former ally of Putin. However, he became a vocal critic and fled to the U.K. Berezovsky was found dead in his home in Berkshire, England. The official cause of death was ruled as suicide, but suspicions remain due to his high-profile opposition activities.
Sergei Magnitsky
Age: 37
Date of Death: November 16, 2009
Cause of Death: Sergei Magnitsky was a lawyer and auditor who exposed a massive tax fraud scheme involving Russian officials. He was arrested, imprisoned, and denied medical treatment. Magnitsky died in custody following severe beatings and medical neglect. His death led to the passing of the Magnitsky Act in the United States, which sanctions Russian officials involved in human rights abuses and corruption.
Stanislav Markelov
Age: 34
Date of Death: January 19, 2009
Cause of Death: Stanislav Markelov was a human rights lawyer and journalist. He was assassinated in Moscow by a gunman who also killed journalist Anastasia Baburova. Markelov had represented victims of human rights abuses and criticized the Russian government's actions in Chechnya. His death raised concerns about the safety of those opposing the regime.
Anastasia Baburova
Age: 25
Date of Death: January 19, 2009
Cause of Death: Anastasia Baburova, a journalist and activist, was shot dead alongside human rights lawyer Stanislav Markelov in Moscow. She had reported on neo-Nazi groups and political violence. Her murder remains unsolved, but it is believed to be connected to her activism.
Natalia Estemirova
Age: 50
Date of Death: July 15, 2009
Cause of Death: Natalia Estemirova, a human rights activist and journalist, was abducted in Grozny, Chechnya, and found dead later that day. She had documented human rights violations in Chechnya and criticized the government. Her murder remains unsolved, but it is widely believed to be connected to her activism and criticism of the Chechen authorities.
Anna Politkovskaya
Age: 48
Date of Death: October 7, 2006
Cause of Death: Anna Politkovskaya, an investigative journalist, was shot dead in her apartment building in Moscow. She had reported extensively on human rights abuses, corruption, and the war in Chechnya. Her work was critical of Putin's government, and her murder sparked international outrage. Despite investigations, the masterminds behind her killing have not been brought to justice.
Yuri Shchekochikhin
Age: 53
Date of Death: July 3, 2003
Cause of Death: Yuri Shchekochikhin was a journalist, writer, and member of the Russian State Duma. He investigated corruption, organized crime, and human rights abuses. Shchekochikhin suddenly fell ill and died from an unknown cause. Some suspect poisoning, but the circumstances remain unclear.

List of journalists killed in Russia
The dangers to journalists in Russia have been known since the early 1990s but concern over the number of unsolved killings soared after Anna Politkovskaya's murder in Moscow on 7 October 2006. While international monitors mentioned a dozen deaths, some sources within Russia talked of over two hundred fatalities.
2009 reports on deaths of journalists in Russia: In June 2009, a wide-ranging investigation by the International Federation of Journalists into the deaths of journalists in Russia was published. At the same time, the IFJ launched an online database which documents over three hundred deaths and disappearances since 1993.

This lovely necklace with graduating festoons of pearls separated by rows of stones ending in pear drop-shaped pearls was first worn by Olivia de Havilland as the Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna in Anastasia: The Mystery of Anna in 1986. In 1993 the piece was worn again in The Age of Innocence by Winona Ryder as May Welland Archer.

Navalny is not the first opponent to fall victim to Putin’s increasingly bloody regime and he won’t be the last. The roll call is long and growing — Sergei Magnitsky, Boris Nemzov, Denis Voronenkov, Stanislav Markelov, Anastasia Baburova, Anna Politkovskaya, and those whose end was uncertain, like Boris Berezovsky. The names of all those who have fallen from windows or decided to end their life in mysterious circumstances are much, much longer.
Elena Davlikanova, responding to Putin's murder of Navalny.

On this day:
ANASTASIA
On July 16, 1918, in Siberia, Bolshevik revolutionaries reportedly executed Russian Tsar Nicholas II; his wife, Alexandra; and their family, whom they had imprisoned shortly after the murder of Alexandra's despised advisor, the sinister monk Rasputin. Rumors of the royal Romanov family's survival have never stopped. Their bodies were supposedly thrown in a trunk by secret police, butchered, soaked in acid, and tossed down a mineshaft. Inquiries were inconclusive. In the 1970s, investigation discrepancies were discovered: A vital telegram went missing for six months. An unexamined eyewitness died mysteriously. When the mineshaft was first investigated, it was found to be empty. Insider information said only Nicolas and his son were killed; the women were spared, though Tatiana and Anastasia were often beaten for trying to escape.
In early 1920, police rescued Anna, a young woman, from drowning in a Berlin canal. She had tried to kill herself after suffering a series of misfortunes and claimed to be Anastasia, the former Romanov princess. The imperial fortune, worth billions of dollars, was at stake. Grand Duchess Olga, Nicholas Il's youngest sister, upon meeting Anna, was surprised by the girl's resemblance to her "missing" niece. For three months they exchanged affectionate letters, and then Olga abruptly declared Anna an impostor.
Medical examination revealed that Anna shared physical similarities with Anastasia, including a scarred finger, caused when a careless footman slammed the coach door on it. Claiming to have been only wounded at the execution, Anna also said she had used pearls and emeralds, sewn into her dress, to get help escaping. Anastasia's relatives were divided about Anna's authenticity. In 1970, after twelve years of rulings, West German courts decided that her identity could be neither refuted nor proven.
The Romanov's fortune, reportedly smuggled out of Russia before the revolution, included exquisite objects of gold, enamel, and precious stones created by Peter Fabergé and has never been found.

Blurb: It's not every day you discover you might be related to Anastasia...or that the tragic princess actually survived her assassination attempt, and has been living as the woman you know as Aunt Anna. For Jess Morgan, who is growing tired of living her life to please everyone else, discovering her late aunt's diaries shows her she's not the only one struggling to hide who she really is...but was her aunt truly a Romanov princess, or is this some elaborate hoax? With the help of a supremely dorky but undeniably cute local college student named Evan, Jess digs into the century-old mystery...but she soon realises there's another, bigger truth waiting to be revealed: Jess Morgan. Because if she's learned anything from Aunt Anna, it's that only you can write your own story.

Anastasia Miranova (and lurnemor) also participated in mimicry.
Retrograde Mercury, a recurring theme.
No idea who that is.
Another account from Anna? She likes American pop culture.
More Denis Yudin:
Oleg Kochetov und Vitaliy Belozerov
Manage the channel with the AI bot and the fake images.
Apart from the connection to the channel, there are also terms and themes that keep coming back: Snow, Glue, Crab, Penguin, Pumpkin, Stone/Tin/Ghost, Pulp Fiction
In search of her, I was even in Russia, on the last day this happened:
Lisa Vroede is a childhood friend and lives in the Netherlands. I sincerely hope that Irina is still alive and well. She has recently registered several business activities.
I'm sure that it was my Irina, because the list of registered trades is identical to the proposals I made to her and it took place on her birthday. The only strange thing is that there is another business connected to this number. At the age of 12, she traded beer. When the list was confirmed, three strange texts appeared in her channel.
Irina is a mystery that I cannot solve on my own - for legal reasons. I need to know whether she is OK or not. I don't know if she was serious or if it was part of the hackers' game. She said she wanted to find friends and travel. Did she want to invite me into her circle? Did I completely mess it up? Or was that already part of the deception?
Because very often the number 112 or 911 appears between the lines or clues lead to police stations in the Czech Republic etc. - since the summer.
Why me?
I stated:
I...
• work for the government (actually only in the public sector) • get a security clearance - which means I potentially have access to secrets • took pictures with my hobby drone • trusted her completely and gave her my phone number and address • live next to the TV tower • live in an apartment whose surroundings are designed for this type of tracking with the TV tower. • have lots of smart home devices, lots of toys to play with. • would do anything for Irina, so I can be controlled. • posted pictures of my appartement in her channel.
Industrial espionage could fit. Because in late summer there was talk of Rhode and Ebony. Basically they were talking about Rhode and Schwarz - an American high-tech company that also builds measuring devices for electromagnetic fields. They probably robbed an employee. They sent me to Constance, for example, where the army has a transmitter for research purposes.

Frosty nights call for warmed-up beds and slow evenings. Top them off with some of the most comforting movies that will put you in that snowy spirit while you curl up in your socks and cardigans. Here are the top picks for you to enjoy on winter nights. 1. Ice Age (2002) Before the age of extinction, prehistoric animals were having a blast. Find Many the Mammoth, Diego the saber-toothed tiger, Sid the sloth, and many more fun characters. Join them on an icy adventure as they entertain you on a ride filled with friendship, banter, and heartfelt emotions. 2. Anastasia (1997) “Once Upon a December” Anastasia Romanov set off to find her true identity. The perfect animated classic that painstakingly captures the winter fairy tale. Not to forget, the romantic and magical narrative it has makes it one of my favorites of all time. 3. Knives Out (2019) Our good old mystery lovers who are constantly looking for more movies in the Whodunit genre are in the right place. The murder mystery story line accompanied by a snowy storm creates a chilly atmosphere. Followed by our favorite detective and unreliable suspects who will keep you hooked till the end. 4. Frozen (2013) The ultimate winter flick that has everything that you can imagine when you think of “winters”. Experience the true bonds of friendship, love, and sacrifice among Elsa, Anna, and their found family. From snow-capped mountains to icy superpowers, this Disney movie has it all. 5. Bridget Jones’s Diary (2001) Now there’s a lot to this movie other than it being the perfect winter watch. Bridget’s misadventures are hilarious and enjoyable at the same time. Holiday parties, winter feasts, and the romantic comedy thrill make you want to re-watch it every December. 6. The Revenant (2015) Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s adventure thriller got Leonardo his first Oscar and us, an epic winter tale to cling to. The brutal survival story line marks one of the most intense sequences, captivating the palpable urge for survival and vengeance. The tug between stunning snowy landscapes and the protagonist’s internal struggles is one cinematic experience you shouldn’t dare to miss. 7. The Chronicles of Narnia (2005) Narnia is the magical land where it’s always Winter, thanks to the evil White Witch who has cursed the land. As the imaginative Pevensie children step onto it through their wardrobes, they’re taken aback by its enchanting beauty and shades of good and evil. The white visuals and aesthetics of this film are so strong it makes you want to be a part of it. 8. March of the Penguins (2005) If you’re a fan of deep educational yet comforting movies, then this one won’t disappoint. March of the Penguins will take you on a ride through Antarctica where you’ll discover resilience, heartwarming narratives, and a battle of the species to survive in the harsh weather. 9. The Shining (1980) How can we ever end a list without a good horror movie that compliments a theme? The Shining is one of the terrifying psychological thrillers that could be perfect for a horror chilly movie night. Watch Jack Nicholson lose his sanity as the plot intensifies. 10. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009) Though all Harry Potter films have scenic winter visuals at some point, the dreary cold vibe of this part remains unmatched. The usual mystery, Gothic castles, and dark academia just densifies a little more than other HP movies. Just lean into it and let it take over your wintry nights. Whether you’re in the mood to get cozy over a Rom-com or chilled over a creepy horror flick, we’ve got you covered. Happy Watching! Read the full article

The Atmosverse Discussion, Part 2 - Reading You to Sleep
Here's the second part of my exploration of/deep dive into the ATMOSPHERE ASMR storyline. Last time we covered the very first video so on we roll to the second, first released on September 28, 2019 and found here. Go give it a watch, and once you've woken back up we'll have a chat about this one.
IN SHORT: The viewer character is sitting in a Victorian train carriage when they are joined by a young aristocrat, Anna. She introduces herself and talks briefly about her recent travels before quietly reading until she falls asleep.
Okay, so on the first watch it's immediately apparent that this is a far more ambitious video than the first already, clocking in at nearly 47 minutes (even if a large chunk of that runtime is a black screen) and with a far more involved performance by Anastasia. Actually, everyone's first reaction was probably "wait; we were in a fantasy forest last time and now we're in the Victorian era?" Boy howdy, I don't think any of us knew that she was just getting started...
Regardless of the bigger picture, which won't become apparent for quite a few more videos, this second video - even viewed in isolation -still feels more like part of a greater/ongoing narrative. Anna is already a far more richly-realized character than our mage friend was in her first appearance (she'll catch up), and we end the video with some picture of who she is and where she's going. As this is a first meeting we get a proper introduction for a start - including a VERY dark joke about the ending of Anna Karenina, no less ("Not today... maybe later.")
We get a brief rundown of her recent history - returning from visiting an archaeologist friend in Egypt - as well as a feeling for her slight loneliness, suggested by how eagerly she jumps on a chance to share a carriage home with this rail-bound stranger. She has the stiffness of the upper classes leavened with a mild sense of frivolity and a romantic streak, shown by her choice of story: the 1831 Pushkin fable The Tale of Tsar Saltan, of His Son the Glorious and Mighty Knight-Prince Gvidon Saltanovich, and the Fair Swan Princess.
The costuming throughout the ATMOSPHERE series is phenomenal, but the Victorian videos are always especially extravagant. As with the first video the use of quality physical material - in this case Anna's gown, her luggage, the seat and the rug in the train corridor - acts to boost the visual appeal of the relatively simple digital environment. The gentle movement of the camera acts in tandem with the soundscape to sell the audience on their presence within an actual train.
Speaking of the soundscape, this video is emblematic of an ATMOSPHERE trademark - the gradual fade. There's a tendency in ASMR videos to drop out as much noise as possible save for the ASMRtist themself, a style that fits a non-narrative video but would seem artificial for a fictional world.
For her series Anastasia tends to layer environmental sounds, starting with many elements and then slowly dropping them away as the video progresses. The sounds of the train station in the beginning - the other passengers, whistles and other sounds of industry - are louder than you'd expect in an ASMR video, but as the journey continues a lot of the sounds fall away until by the end the only things audible are the soft rocking of the train on the rails and the equally measured sounds of Anna reading the rhythmic verse of the story, even that getting quieter and quieter until the end. Even now, nearly 90 videos into the series, this is still one of my favorites in terms of pure relaxing/soporific effect.
There are very few, if any, moments in the series where something is read or quoted by a character without having some thematic resonance to the overall plot; here it is easy to read Pushkin's story, involving as it does a meeting with a mysterious woman that leads to a series of magical adventures and trials, as an echo of this first introduction between us the audience (as well as the individual whose point of view we inhabit) and Anna.
Anastasia, and this commentary, are only just getting started, though, so I'll leave you there for now and see you in the next one!
