I'm overanalyzing this event so much, but it genuinely is (mario voice) JUST WHAT I NEEDED! in terms of crumbs.

Looker's time was brief, but he was so sweet. When Nemona asked an accidentally sensitive question, he piped up first as he was ready to shoot it down in case it would make Anabel uncomfortable.

Anabel is surprisingly everything I was hoping for. A lot of people depict her as broken, being used by Interpol, or just flat out a woman who will never be whole again-- Instead of all that, Anabel said that she is aware that she doesn't know who she was and might never recall those memories entirely. And yet, she is happy to move forward with her life as it is now, stating that it is important.

Looker, who has been in tune with Anabel's feelings before, had a moment where he just closed his eyes and quietly mused over her words. No doubt he senses that she's bittersweet about this. Maybe they've talked about it before. Maybe he relates. Whatever the case may be, he cares about Anabel and probably knows that while she's happy, she will always have a feeling of loss.

And yeah, Looker is someone who is part of her life now. Nanu because if it weren't for him and his guidance as her Interpol superior, she wouldn't be where she is today. And Looker, who she cherishes as a friend.

It's lovely to see Anabel has come to terms with her situation long ago, and is even using her experience to guide younger trainers. She's happy, and is even adamant of making a life that she can be proud of REGARDLESS of any alternate timeline if things went differently.

It's all but confirmed: Anabel is here to stay in her new life.

Other things I noticed when rewatching:

- there's a quick clip of Danny handing Yitzhak the gun in episode 3, almost like a physical representation of him switching. Also Yitzhak says "you're safe now" to Anabelle and disappears from frame then Danny appears and repeats "you're safe now"

- In episode 1 when Danny is drawing Adam and talking about him with Johnny, Johnny asks if he misses him and Danny says "sometimes, not all the time." which seems like an odd thing to say but in context it makes sense because he's switching alters/having those "blank spots"

- also in episode 1 there's three different instances where Danny/alters almost get hit by a blue car. When Johnny is riding his bike, when Danny, Johnny, and Mike are walking to get ice cream, and when the bullies are chasing Danny down the road. Wonder if this is supposed to be a representation of him now being aware of his surroundings or something?

Ohh the car thing, interesting 👀 god this show has so many details I love it. Also I gotta say I’m so curious to hear more about Adam, I’m quite sure he is the first alter he created and I wonder how he “killed” him

Ultimate Decades Challenge - 1350s - 1360s

* TW: This post contains a plotline that includes babies and mothers who died during childbirth. Starting out the decade with so few Sims had an advantage - we barely had any eligible male Sims for the 100 Year War and managed to avoid it entirely! That being said, we still experienced some tragic losses: including the death of one of my favourite Sims on the last day of decade. Hope remains, however, as our sole heir to the Brooker Family Farm has survived long enough to wed and take over the family property. Let’s hope he and his new bride can repopulate quick enough before tragedy strikes again.

Thank the universe for our saviour this decade, Estrid Payne! Cursed to lose both her daughters at birth and soon there-after, her husband to a vicious dog attack. Estrid took over the care of the family farm and the orphaned children of the Brooker household all on her own throughout most of the decade. 

I was so close to ending the decade by congratulating myself on a fairly lucky ten years. It was not to be and unfortunately poor Anabel lost both her baby, and her life, on the last day of the decade. I felt this one right in my core, she was a such a beautiful Sim.

No doubt, the miracle of this generation remains Norman Brooker. He was the sole surviving heir to our founding family, the Brookers. With the death of his father, and his uncle, he is the last remaining Sim that can carry on the Brooker family name. I am super nervous going into the 1360s that we will lose either of these two before we can produce somebody to keep the family name alive.

but also it makes me insane Ive been thinking a LOT about how the characters treat damien especially in contrast to how rose and caleb also having manipulative abilities is percieved like its the whole thing about only respecting neurodivergent people if theyre nicey-likable-personable. rose immediately ditching damien even though he doesnt even have his powers anymore simply on the word of strangers is completely fucking mental to meeee every time joan calls someone a psychopath I get sooo mad like what! shes a therapist.. BUT ALSO deeply compelling fucked up way for people to behave and like I get it but also! I get him! I want to be his friend. also helens

Ive genuinely been enjoying tct less than the main show because there are noooooo women in it. despite the fact that I just did a caleb-eps-only relisten and that hes my favourite little guy and it does make me dizzy levels of giddy. but theres no women! complete turnaround from the immensely invigorating fucked up dynamic in tama between sam/joan/helen/anabelle that shit was SO good. even if I did spend the whole thing waiting for them to acknowledge that It Was All Joans Fault cause that would have made it all extra fucked up. SO much fun listening to variously traumatised and stressed out women play mind games and fuck each other over love that.

I like when she is catty and mean with people and ALSO when she is being very silly and smart. teasing sam and the balance in her relationship with vanessa and also the uh zachvalenticharacter episode. and her rage. Both were perfectly content either with kids or being childless. It was not at all pressured or done for the sake of societal norms. But Looker always had soft daydreams of raising a family, and Anabel found herself with the perfect partner where she felt secure and excited about the prospect all on her own.

They both did their part during the joint Maternity/Paternity Leave. Looker was very VERY adamant about Anabel being comfortable and getting necessary stress-relief. Taking their turns warming the nest, so to speak.

1952 Pt1 - Stefan's Dream

[The night Sofia left]

"You were a real plumbhead this morning, you know that? We just barely got her to come out of her room, she's obviously been carrying this for months and you just have to give your opinions."

"I know Anabelle. I really messed it up."

"I'm scared too you know. I'm not ready to be a grandmother. I'm not even 40 yet. But I wasn't ready to be a mother either and look where that got us."

"Watcher! I did the same thing to her as I did to you. I'm such an idiot."

"Yeah you are. But we can still fix this."

They were quiet for a moment until Hezekiah broke the silence. "Do you think...that boy...that maybe...it wasn't her choice?"

"Oh Watcher, I don't even want to think about that!"

"I know kids make mistakes but...she just seemed so adamant about waiting."

Kye sat up suddenly, reaching for his chair. "I need to talk to her."

"Now?"

"Yes, I can't sleep till she knows I love her." He paused, "Damn! the stairs! Could you get her for me?"

"Of course, Dear."

But it was too late. All that was left of Sofia was footprints in the snow.

[3 years later]

The Winter Season was finally coming to an end. It was still cold but hope could be felt just on the horizon. Anabelle hoped that with the melted snow, they might be able to find Sofia.

"Breakfast is nearly ready. Could you go get your father?"

"Of course!!"

"This is amazing Mom! I'm really going to miss your cooking!"

"What do you mean you're going to miss it?"

"Um...well I've been thinking about it a lot lately. You know how much I love helping you in the garden but I just can't do what I want here in Copperdale."

"You know how Aunt Rachel finally got pregnant? Well they had twins which means Uncle Gavin isn't able to help on the farm as much anymore. Uncle Reuben needs help and I really want to learn farming."

"So you're moving back to Henford? That's great son! I'm so proud of you!"

"Of course I'm happy for you too but this is a big life decision and you're not even a young adult yet?"

"I'm old enough to get married and I'll be a young adult next year. Besides I'll be staying with family."

"Okay but you know to stay away from the Noble's."

"Of course Mom"

A few weeks later Stefan arrived in Finchwick. The town was covered in a fresh layer of snow but Stefan was far too exhausted to fully enjoy it's beauty. His cousin Rosalie and her new husband Mason were waiting for him as he rolled off the train and stumbled into the Town Center

"About time you got here! We've been waiting in the cold for hours!"

"Sorry the train was delayed because of the snow."

"Well maybe you should have waited for spring."

"By then the twins would be toddlers and Uncle Reuben wouldn't need my help. Besides, I know you missed me."

He opened his arms to give her a hug but she cringed. "I don't do hugs."

Mason suddenly stepped in to break the tension. "Hey what's a duck's favorite part of the news? The Feather Forecast!"

"Oh! What's a llama's favorite drink? Llamanade!"

"Rosalie was not impressed.

The Harris' dropped Stefan off at the farmhouse where he'd spent many of his formative years. The exotic plant in the corner and the walls covered in paintings proved that the house was run by his art-loving aunt and not his practical grandmother. It was different but so familiar

"Ah you're finally here!" A man raced down the stairs excitedly.

"You must be Uncle Gavin, it's nice to finally meet you. I love what you've done with the place"

"Ah the wall, yes isn't it amazing. Rachel really has an eye for asthetic." He gushed with a dreamy look in his eye.

"Oh I'm sure you want to meet the babies! But we just laid them down for their nap!"

"Darling give the poor boy a rest. He came here to work the farm, not take care of babies."

"I'm sorry! I'm just so excited they're finally here. We've been trying for nearly a decade!"

Rachel rolled her eyes affectionately. "I'm sure you're tired. We cleaned up your old room for you. It's got a real bed now, not a bunk bed. Feel free to do whatever you want with it. It's your space. Reuben is out of town so take your time."

"Thank you so much Aunt Rachel."

A few days later Reuben returned "Uncle Reuben! I'm so glad your back, I'm excited and ready to work with you and learn everything I can about the business!"

"Thank you Gavin." Reuben answered dismissively.

Gavin shook his head and whispered loudly, "He doesn't like me."

Gavin slipped from the room and Reuben closed his book, standing to his feet. "Come with me." Stefan followed him into the office that had once been his grandfathers. The darker hues and lack of decoration was jarring compared to the rest of the house and made Stefan nervous.

"So you want to learn farming?"

"Yes! I've helped my mom with her garden my entire life. It's how we survived for a long time. I've learned all about carrots and potatoes and spices but I want to learn about the BIG plants. See we were homeless for awhile-"

"That's nice."

"Listen kid, the first thing you need to understand about this business is that it's more than just plants. If you want to be a farmhand then great but if you want to run this farm then you need be able to make quick decisions and sharp deals."

"I...think I can do that."

"Good then we're in business. Now what do you know about the HCR?"

"The Henford Crime Ring? I know they're related to us and that they're good at covering their tracks."

"Yes, my father worked for them briefly in the 20's before choosing my mother over the job."

"Oh my dad told me this story. Aunt Lizzie finally pulled Grampa out of it when Gilbert almost gave her a job and that...well, you and Rachel came along shortly after. But what does this have to do with running the farm?"

"It's important because the HCR is our biggest client."
