My old bag of bones

When I was around 12 or 13, a few months after I stopped going to the religious organization that prior to that had become my whole life, I wrote an enraged letter telling them just how I was far better of without them and how they were absolutely blind to the outside world.

In my fantasies, I would send out that letter, it would be open to reveal the margins I drew in to make it more polished, just like they taught us girls to write our christmas letters to St. Nicolaus, I could see very clearly a very specific sister reading it over breakfast and everyone being shocked at my audacity but maybe some of them touched by my arguments, and on their insides the seed of doubt and regret would grow.

Of course none of that happened and the letter is probably hidden inside one of my books now, but in my childish attempt at sounding ages beyond my years all I wished to achieve was that at least one of them would feel sorry for what they did to me, and what they did to all of the other girls. I wished that even in their sleep they thought about how many youths they stole, infusing us with a guilt that left a trail so last long it merged and transformed into other things. I wish I could make sister Ana live one day as me after they stopped picking me up so she could feel in her bones not belonging to a place so much it was almost a physical pain, so she could see that after I became a shadow of myself I had no friends at school anymore just 1 year after being voted class president, so she could feel what it was like getting home and spending the afternoon praying because if they left me than Jesus probably did as well, what it was like checking their website every time I got into my computer so I could see the pictures they posted of girls taking what should've been my place in the sick and twisted hierarchy we believed so much in, what it was like not being able to talk to my parents about the one thing that plagued my mind because they were glad I stopped going anyways.

I remember wanting to remember all of it, all the late night prayers at the chapel where all of us girls would say it was better dying than losing our virginity, all the pictures of the founder we had saved between pages in our prayer books, all the swapped language we had to adopt to differ ourselves from the outside world, all the great big beautiful castles we visited every weekend in a country where that is unheard of, all the scary tales we heard while sleepy on our van after a day of field trips, all the holy pain that surrounded us like a thick velvet, the pain we inflicted in ourselves to seem more saintly, or at least the one I did, all the silent breakfasts, the lunches that I helped in the kitchen and served everyone like it was an honorable task, all the times we had to kiss the ground after arriving late to dinner, all the names we wouldn't say because they belonged to girls that didn't belong there anymore, all the conversations I had with women 2 times my age that I would repeat in my head over and over to check for any mistakes, and that later I would check for reasons as to why they left me behind.

In a way, I was never abused there, I was fed, I was watched over and talked to, I even felt heard sometimes, I certainly got it a lot better than a lot of the boys and girls that went there, but still I can't seem to get it out of my system, I almost wish something terrible happened to me there so I could justify the imense hole in my soul it all left. It just seemed so hurtful that they didn't want me even after I made myself the most tame and docile I could ever be and offered my life as if it was a party favor, even at 12 I could feel that by the nature law they were predators, but setting myself up as prey just wasn't enough to make me desirable.

Cada conselheiro indicou uma pessoa e usou a tribuna para explicar os méritos dos homenageados. O presidente do CEE, Osvaldir Ramos, conduziu a cerimônia: “senhoras e senhores homenageados, vocês são exemplos a serem seguidos, continuem avançando e acelerando para garantirmos aos nossos cidadãos acesso a educação de qualidade para todos, em todos os níveis e sem dúvidas juntos seremos mais fortes”, disse. Receberam a horaria em 2023 as seguintes personalidades: professor Nicolau Fernandes Kruel, professor Oscar Alves, professor Expedito Michels, professora Gislene Camargo, professora Cláudia Pereira Fernandes, professora Sandra Zanatta Guidi, deputada Ana Paula da Silva e o governador Jorginho Mello. O governador relembrou a importância da educação para ele e para tantas outras pessoas que tiveram origem humilde. “Eu tô aqui com muita alegria recebendo essa horaria, que me dá estímulo para que a gente possa dizer que nós estamos no caminho certo. Eu agradeço essa homenagem e divido com todos os catarinenses que pensam como eu também que a educação é a melhor obra de uma vida”, concluiu o governador. A indicação do nome do governador Jorginho Mello foi feita pela conselheira Luciane Bisognin Ceretta, reitora da Universidade do Extremo Sul Catarinense (Unesc). Ela lembrou a trajetória política do homenageado que sempre dedicou atenção especial à educação e citou a mais recente iniciativa, o programa Universidade Gratuita e a defesa das universidades comunitárias. “Aqui está um dos importantes traços de sua forma de governar: deixas muito explícitas as causas que defendes e que acreditas. Por sua trajetória de forte atuação em apoio real a educação, sobretudo para o acesso e permanência de estudantes no ensino técnico e no ensino superior, e por sua forte defesa ao reconhecimento legal e social das universidades comunitárias catarinenses um patrimônio da população de Santa Catarina. DIA 13 DE MARÇO DE 2023 : IDA A LISBOA PARA ASSISTIR NO TEATRO ABERTO A “O FILHO” DE FLORIAN ZELLER . FOI CONVITE DE AMIGOS ATENTOS AO MEU LUTO EANTES JANTAMOS NO “OLIVIA” UM RESTAURANTE TRENDY : ontem fui a Lisboa convidado pelos meus amigos Caldeira Pires ( muito atentos ao meu luto ) para assistir a «  O Filho «  êxito do Teatro Aberto vai para três semanas . .Antes jantamos no OLÍVIA restaurante « trendy « e económico com ementa exótica .. « Quem a frequenta tanto é vegan e faz yoga como come pizza e bebe vinho tinto « .. Quanto ao teatro Le Fils (em português: O Filho) é uma peça do famoso Florian Zeller estreada em fevereiro de 2018 no Teatro dos Campos Elísios, em Paris. . Numa sala com cerca de 200 espectadores assistimos a uma peça muito contemporânea num espectáculo sóbrio e sensível na versão da dupla João Lourenço e Vera San Payo Lemos . Um ritmo sustentado, painéis deslizantes onde se projectam os vídeos ,cenografia elegante ; nunca um momento de tédio nas duas horas que dura o espectáculo amarrados pelo qualidade do texto sobre um assunto que está realmente no centro das atenções....

« Pedro e Ana separaram-se. Nicolau, o filho adolescente, cai numa profunda tristeza, falta à escola, sente-se perdido, não está bem consigo próprio nem com ninguém. Durante o mês de dezembro de 2021, realizaremos a segunda edição da Galeria Lux, uma galeria online temporária de obras de arte selecionadas pelo corpo curatorial do Lux através de edital. Esta segunda edição da Galeria Lux funcionará entre os dias 13 e 30 de dezembro de 2021, e a seleção contemplará artistas visuais com pouca e média inserção no sistema, oferecendo uma plataforma para a comercialização de obras de pequenos formatos.

Além disso, oferecemos também a pequenos colecionadores a possibilidade de adquirir trabalhos de qualidade por valores acessíveis.

Salientamos que a escolha da limitação de valores tem como propósito priorizar artistas em início de carreira ou que, mesmo com reconhecimento e validação, concordam em colocar suas obras dentro do limite de valores determinado. Desta forma, poderemos também ter um maior alcance de público e assim democratizar a aquisição de obras de arte.

Renato Soares da Silva (Tony Ramos)

Renato is Rafael and Nicolau's father; a retired prosecutor in his 70s, who still lives in Belo Horizonte and enjoys good health given his high age. He is immensely proud of his eldest son for his journalistic achievements, and deeply disappointed in his youngest for his homosexuality and decision to leave Brazil for the US. Despite their differences and his open disdain for his youngest son, Renato helped Nico survive his first night as a werewolf and keeps his secret safe to this day.

Ana Maria Schmidt Moreira (†) (Sônia Braga)

Ana was Rafael and Nicolau's mother. She died when her sons were 12 and 7 years old; leaving behind a devastated husband who sought refuge in his work and the bottom of a bottle, an older son who had to fill in her role, taking over household chores and looking after his little brother, and her youngest, who in turn coped by fixating on his brother.

Rafael Moreira da Silva (Wagner Moura)

Rafael is Nicolau's older brother. The two, along with Rafa's childhood best friend Joana, had been practically inseparable until Rafael eventually left Belo Horizonte for uni and later travelled the world. Being incapable of maintaining social connections himself, his brother makes sure they keep in touch to this day, claiming it's his turn to look after his older brother now. Rafael lives currently in São Paulo working as a journalist all over the globe. He takes after his father, sharing his workaholism and liability to addiction.

Nicolau Moreira da Silva (Wagner Moura)

Nicolau is Rafael's younger brother. Growing up he had always looked up to his older brother, thinking of him as a safe haven even after Rafa had moved out. When Nico had his coming out he confided in Rafael first. Only when he was turned into a werewolf aged 17 did he start keeping secrets from his older brother. After uni he immigrated to the US where he still lives, owning an occult bookshop. He takes after his mother, allowing himself to be sensitive and obliging.

Joana Luíza Ribeiro Pinto de Mello Neves (Alinne Moraes)

Joana is Rafael's ex-wife; being the kid next door, she grew up with the da Silva boys, regarding Nico as her younger brother and Rafa as her best friend whom she eventually married. Despite filing for divorce after only 13 years, Joana still cares about Rafael and keeps in touch with Nick. She his happily remarried and lives in Rio de Janeiro working in the tourism industry.

Vaneza Talita Pinto da Silva (Bianca Comparato)

Vaneza is Rafael's daughter. She was 13 when her parents got divorced and though she initially harboured a grudge against her father whom she had barely seen during her childhood, they both reconciled eventually. She has inherited his zeal and stubbornness, and aims to continue the family legacy as a second generation journalist, currently living in Brasília.

Tiago Vicente Pinto da Silva (Rodolfo Valente)

Tiago is Rafael's son. Six years younger than his sister, and continued the less prestigious da Silva legacy; emulating Renato and Rafael in drinking heavily like his grandfather and turning to illegal substances like his dad. He's two years clean now, keeping himself above water with the occasional odd job, living with his girlfriend in São Gonçalo.

Na Igreja Ucraniana de Nossa Senhora Auxiliadora ficou pronto o "Iconostácio" ou "Portal do Paraíso" pintado à mão - com refinada técnica milenar que remonta às Igrejas bizantinas de Constantinopla. Herança de São Cirilo e São Metódico, São Nicolau, São Valdomiro e sua Avó a Rainha Santa Olga. Tesouro de Fé e Liturgia guardado na Ucrânia. Nossa Secretária de Cultura, Ana Cristina de Castro, esteve na inauguração apoiada pela Lei Municipal de Incentivo à Cultura. Visitei o artista Sviatoslav Vladyka vindo de Kiev. Ainda consegui que Vladyka também pintasse os ícones do Memorial Ucraniano no Oratório do Arcanjo São Miguel, do Parque Tingui. Na inauguração a memória dos 130 anos da Imigração Ucraniana e os 130 anos da Igreja da rua Martim Afonso #RostoDaCidade

Curated by Magda Kardasz and Diana Marincu, the exhibition brings together seven artists from Timișoara (Lera Kelemen, Ana Kun, Andreea Medar, Carmen Nicolau, Pusha Petrov & Miki Velciov, Sorina Vazelina) and six Polish artists (Zofia Gramz, Janusz Łukowicz, Paulina Pankiewicz, Anna Siekierska, Mikołaj Szpaczyński, Marta Węglińska), invited to produce a new work starting from several intertwined thematic topics: the correlation between natural ecosystems and human intrusion; the creation of some hybrid anthropomorphic creatures – extensions of multiple human hypostases; the artists’ activist and ecological interventions regarding environment, the city and the public space. Thus, the artists are rather interested in self-organising and collaborative structures, which drive them away from existing systems, be it inspiration taken from nature and the wilds, or developing a personal and collective conscience fully sensitive to nowadays issues of human existence inside an exhausted anthropocentric system.
