First batch of drawing one dog every day.
I’m going in alphabetical order based on the American kennel club plus my own dogs for their birthdays. I also wanna do historical dogs like Laika and Togo when those relevant dates come around.
We’ll find out how powerful my dog love is if I can get through drawing all 250+ dogs in the AKC.
Special little boy Jesse turned 1 back on March 17th. Yes he is named after Breaking Bad Jesse Pinkman and for those curious he’s a Australian Cattle Dog (aka Blue/Red Heeler) mixed with a Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

Hello, A while ago I found a video online featuring a coydog breeding project using small spitz breeds (I think it was either a klee kai or pomeranian or some kind of german spitz) and I was wondering; do you know anything about that project? Are there any other coydog breeders you know of? Do any of them health test and select for temperament the way I've seen some responsible wolfdog breeders (including you) do?
Coydog breeders out there currently seem to be pretty firmly in the "exotics breeder" category for husbandry and breeding practices, if it's not just a one-off oops between a pet coyote and a dog. So no, there's not really any testing, maybe an Embark, parents being enclosure animals, etc.
It sounds like you're talking about either Mark Klemperer's "Mini North American Indian Dog" line of coydogs with Mini American Esk*mo Dog in the mix, or the guy in Ohio who's name escapes me who's a large scale mill of dozens of different breeds and species and who's been publicly called out for abhorrent husbandry and is working on a coydog program with pomsky mixes.
I'd say temperament wise Mark's got something good going on, he's selected hard for sweet and human social for a few generations in the mid content range, they do run very SSA if left intact (especially the females) and are big escape artists, but again, no testing of any sort and a pretty 80's approach to things.
I know people who have tentative litter plans in the works and a much more modern breeding and husbandry approach, but any of those ideas are still years out, lol.

Can we see a pic of your dog?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sure, this is Henry. He is an Alaskan Klee Kai, a breed that is mixed with Alaskan huskies, Siberian huskies, American Eskimo dogs, and Schipperkes.
I included a photo to show his size versus a husky. When people see him, they think he is a mini husky or pomsky but nope, he is his own breed. They are considered a rare breed, so you won't see many of them.

Klee Kai Puppies for Sale: Your Guide to Finding the Perfect Companion
If you're considering adding a Klee Kai puppy to your family, you're in for a delightful experience. These small, intelligent, and affectionate dogs are a relatively new breed, developed in the 1970s to create a smaller version of the Alaskan Husky. With their striking looks and vibrant personalities, Klee Kais are rapidly gaining popularity among dog enthusiasts. Here's everything you need to know about finding Klee Kai puppies for sale and what to expect when bringing one home.
Understanding the Klee Kai Breed
Klee Kais come in three sizes: Toy, Miniature, and Standard. Regardless of size, they share the same breed characteristics, including a wedge-shaped head, erect triangular ears, and a double coat that can be in various colors such as black and white, red and white, or gray and white. They have a distinct mask that adds to their expressive appearance.
This breed is known for its high energy levels, intelligence, and curiosity. They are quick learners, making them relatively easy to train, but they can also be quite independent and stubborn at times. Early socialization and consistent training are essential to ensure they grow into well-behaved adults.
Where to Find Klee Kai Puppies for Sale
When searching for Klee Kai Price, it's crucial to find a reputable breeder. Responsible breeders prioritize the health and well-being of their dogs, ensuring they are raised in a safe and loving environment. They also conduct health screenings to minimize the risk of genetic disorders.
Start by checking the American Klee Kai Association (AKKA) or other reputable breed organizations for a list of certified breeders. These organizations maintain high standards for breeding practices and can provide valuable resources and guidance.
You can also attend dog shows and events to meet breeders and see Klee Kais in action. Networking with current Klee Kai owners through online forums and social media groups can provide personal recommendations and insights into the breed.
Questions to Ask a Breeder
When you've found a potential breeder, it's essential to ask the right questions to ensure you're making an informed decision. Some key questions include:
Can I meet the puppy's parents? Seeing the puppy's parents can give you an idea of their temperament and appearance.
What health tests have been performed? Reputable breeders will screen for common health issues such as patellar luxation and heart conditions.
What is the socialization process like? Puppies should be exposed to various environments, sounds, and people to develop into well-adjusted dogs.
Do you offer a health guarantee? A health guarantee demonstrates the breeder's confidence in their breeding program and commitment to the puppies' well-being.
Can I see your breeding facility? Visiting the facility ensures the puppies are raised in a clean and humane environment.
Preparing for Your Klee Kai Puppy
Once you've found your perfect Klee Kai puppy, it's time to prepare for their arrival. Ensure you have all the necessary supplies, including a crate, bed, food and water bowls, high-quality puppy food, toys, and grooming tools.
Puppy-proof your home by removing any hazards and setting up a safe space for your new companion. Establish a consistent routine for feeding, potty breaks, and training to help your puppy adjust to their new environment.
Training and Socialization
Klee Kais are highly trainable, but they require patience and consistency. Positive reinforcement methods, such as treats and praise, work best with this breed. Early socialization is crucial to prevent behavioral issues, so expose your puppy to different people, pets, and situations from a young age.
Enroll in puppy training classes to provide structured learning and socialization opportunities. Regular exercise and mental stimulation are also essential to keep your Klee Kai happy and healthy.

Bringing a Klee Kai puppy into your home is a rewarding experience filled with joy and companionship. By finding a reputable breeder and preparing adequately, you can ensure a smooth transition for your new furry friend. With proper training, socialization, and care, your Klee Kai will grow into a loyal and loving member of your family, bringing endless happiness for years to come.

To elaborate a bit now that we have left the show -
Very small show. But lots of breeds we've never met before, including the Skye Terrier, the Akita Inu, the American Akita, the Klee Kai, the Jagdterrier, the Presa Canario, etc etc
Everyone was really nice and so were their dogs. We became fast besties with the Rhodesian Ridgeback, the Sibe, the Akita, the Klee Kais, and the Presas :^) very good very cute 9/10 losing one point because the Sibe was screaming bloody murder while in his crate

Is anyone familiar with Alaskan Klee Kais? I used my Virgo powers last night to list out things I wanted in my next dog and cross referenced that with a few breeds. Any good sources for breeders or good general info on these breeds would be GREATLY appreciated!
Final outcome for what seems to fit my needs:
- Alaskan Klee Kai (I’ve never met one though so I have no idea what they’re like)
- German Shorthaired Pointer
- Mini American Shepherd
- Brittany
- Miniature Pinscher
