First batch of drawing one dog every day.

I’m going in alphabetical order based on the American kennel club plus my own dogs for their birthdays. I also wanna do historical dogs like Laika and Togo when those relevant dates come around.

We’ll find out how powerful my dog love is if I can get through drawing all 250+ dogs in the AKC.

Special little boy Jesse turned 1 back on March 17th. Yes he is named after Breaking Bad Jesse Pinkman and for those curious he’s a Australian Cattle Dog (aka Blue/Red Heeler) mixed with a Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

This is my current list of dog breeds I would like to own one day. Cirneco dell'Etna, Italian Greyhound, and Japanese Spitz are also penciled in but I need to learn more about them from owners, breeders, and fanciers

American Eskimo Dog

Pros: Great temperament, trainable, requires more mental stimulation than physical exercise, dyeable

Pros: Great temperament, can have varied amounts of exercise (ie 15 minute walk one day and then 2 hours the next)

Cons: A bit stubborn, the baying

Lucy, Jack, Luna Ornaments (2024)

My first pet portrait commission of 2024 complete! These are hand painted on 3 inch (7.6 cm) diameter ceramic ornaments with acrylics. Top left is Lucy, middle right is Jack, and bottom left is Luna. I have not painted ornaments in a long time because the place where I order them had been out of stock for over a year! They still are, and I had to switch to a different company to get these! I hope I get to do many more this year, they are fun to paint! It is a challenge to get details on such a small surface so I have to use very small thin brushes.

American Eskimo Dog

The American Eskimo Dog combines striking good looks with a quick and clever mind in a total brains-and-beauty package. Neither shy nor aggressive, Eskies are always alert and friendly, though a bit conservative when making new friends. The American Eskimo Dog comes in three sizes - standard, miniature, and toy - standing as tall as 19 inches at the shoulder or as short as 9 inches. Distinctive traits include a dense, sparkling white coat with a lion-like ruff around the chest and shoulders; a smiling face, with black nose, lips, and eye-rims that convey a keen, intelligent expression; and a plumed tail carried over the back. Some Eskies have markings with the delicious color name 'biscuit cream.' They move with a bold and agile gait. Eskies are social animals and can develop problem behaviors when neglected or undertrained'¿they insist on being part of family life.
