Sometimes fists matter more than facts
“There are no accidents, only encounters in history,” wrote Elie Wiesel. The outbreak of antisemitism that has swept across US college campuses is not a spontaneous reaction to Hamas’s massacre of over 1200 men, women, and children – a day during which the Gaza-based terrorist group kidnapped over two hundred people. Hamas’s invasion of the Jewish state, as well as the organization’s fans at Ivy…

this women's day i'm thinking about all the women and girls who were tortured and killed for the crime of being jewish within reach of hamas, those that survived but were taken hostage to continue being tortured, every single woman who will never get true justice for what was done to them. the infants that will never see adulthood.
and i'm thinking about all the western women who cheered.

the pro of "crazy dyke" being Your Type (TM) is that it makes you look like you're """One Of The Good Ones (TM)""" or whatever without even trying. you love queer women in fiction & therefore are freed from every fandom conversation about how most people only like the white men. or something. (the truth is you just like women with complex relationships to queerness, womanhood, & oftentimes their cultures as well, for various personal reasons.)
the con of "crazy dyke" being Your Type (TM) is obviously. God Help You if you want to find fandom content exploring your faves with the kind of messy nuance you thrive on.

idk it rlly gets to me sometimes to be told that I like don’t get it/don’t care about trans youth or whatever whenever I am vocally critical of democrat politicians cause. idk I AM trans youth, I struggle a lot and get treated like shit a lot for it, by politicians and people who should care about me and idk, have y’all ever been kicked out as a teenager and had to call the only adults who support you to come pick you up as a lonely suicidal trans kid? have you ever had to walk home from pride cause you can’t call your parents? ever been outed to your parents against your will and without your knowledge? cause I have and it rlly sucks. having my own experiences and rights used against me, as a token to silence me and others is rlly frustrating and upsetting. It was so lonely being a trans teenager and I spent a lot of time trying to connect with other lgbt+ people but especially younger trans people at my high school (lowerclassmen at the time) when I was a teenager cause I knew how lonely it was growing up with no one to see you for who you are.
People talk down on me for speaking out against politicians who have done nothing to secure my safety or rights, my right to exist because it is “too controversial,” ever since I was a child, and things are somehow even worse now… like I don’t live in the south, like I don’t see the obituaries of murdered trans people on my social media every day, like I don’t see tv ads from local politicians insulting eachother via support for people like me aka “letting men in girls bathrooms” and like I don’t have to see signs around local places bathrooms that say transphobic stuff. like I somehow don’t get it even though *I* don’t feel safe or comfortable no matter which bathroom I’m in, like I don’t have evangelical conservative “”redneck”” family members who would pop a blood vessel in their face if they saw what I look like now, like I don’t get called slurs by strangers or experience crazy micro aggressions in public & at work, like I didn’t have the experiences of being one of the literal handful of openly queer people in my southern public school.
Do you guys even know what it’s like for trans people in the south?? do you know how often trans kids get assaulted in bathrooms at school? it’s so fucking scary to hear from my friends from Florida, to hear them talk about how their friends got assaulted in their high school bathrooms, to hear about the crazy shit their teachers and classmates and politicians said….
idk. y’all don’t know me. You don’t know my story, you don’t know how hard I’ve fought just to be here. I don’t rlly have a point, I just wish people would stop saying stuff like that in my replies. I can take getting screamed at and flipped off irl but this type of stuff is worse and for some reason it rlly gets to me.
I know it’s the internet and ppl are going to be cruel but sometimes it makes me feel very isolated from my community and it drives me crazy because like, damn what about me? Am I not the trans youth too?? am I not included in that, are my opinions thoughts and experiences not important just cause I’m loud abt my opinions in a way u disagree with…??

possibly a hot take but if you as a Jewish person tie your ENTIRE identity to NEEDING an ethnostate, you need to reevaluate your relationship with your religion/ethnicity.
i know many Jewish people who i am good friends with who do NOT feel the need to tie their religion or identity to a colonial ethnostate, and support the freedom of palestinians.
this is not about your religion or your identity, this is about fascism and genocide masking itself with the suffering of the Jewish people.
Fascists are using you and your religion as a scapegoat to justify genocide.

HONORING JEWISH AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH!
by Danna Zeiger Dear Kidlit Community,Unfortunately, Writers’ Rumpus was not able to air this post earlier in the month for logistical reasons. For this, I would personally like to apologize to the Jewish Kidlit community, as I would have liked to have seen both AAPHI and JAHM honored together. There have been many community discussions highlighting the lack of JAHM recognition and awareness…

"By letting herself emerge, through the interaction of her two stand-ins, as a more complex and contradictory character than the Zelda Popkin of her earlier autobiography, Zelda showed that autobiographical fiction could sometimes achieve a truth that straightforward autobiography could not convey."
— The Life and Times of an American Jewish Woman Writer: Zelda Popkin by Jeremy D. Popkin

By far, the most effective tool in the demonization of Jews has been the use of Israel and Zionism as a means to hide what would otherwise be recognized as pure ethnic bigotry under the cloak of social justice. Casting Israel as the world’s last settler colonial state allows antisemites to call Jews colonialists. And casting Jews as colonialists has allowed them to call Israel a colonial movement. It has also underlined the idea that Jews are the most villainous sect on the hierarchy of white supremacy.
But by this tail-swallowing logic, the mere existence of Israel constitutes a crime. If Jews are not a real category with a legitimate identity, then why would they ever have a state, given that other people are there, too? And if the state is mired in the original sin of apartheid, how can any Jews support it without upholding white supremacy?
As a PLO political cartoon so neatly illustrates, the Palestinian national movement has not been slow to capitalize on the opportunity to conflate Jews with whites and Palestinians with American Blacks: An American police officer kneeling on the neck of an African American man is joined by an Israeli soldier kneeling on the neck of a Palestinian.
This paradox is resolved by a narrative of control. “Three hundred Zionists” (by Ye’s reckoning) run Hollywood, media, and finance to keep the gentiles in thrall. And through its silence, its endless attacks on Israel, its complicity in demonizing Israel and treating the word “Zionism” as an epithet, the media not only accepts but advances this heinous narrative.
Blaming the normalization of antisemitism on Elon Musk or on the internet’s “dangerous” tolerance of unregulated speech shifts attention from the way many Jews are regularly treated by the media, their neighbors, their college classmates, and law enforcement. As calls now come from the ADL and establishment figures that Jews should trust them to censor the problem away—that our very lives depend on it!—Jews understand that the real problem has been censored all along.

yeah so any asks like this are immediately getting deleted. I am pro palestine, and just because you see someone mention that theyre jewish and their family has a military background that doesn't mean they're a zionist israeli. and yes i am posting this because its relevant, much of this project is based off of the current political climate and me venting my frustrations of my heritage being used to propagate the death of a people.

Discovered some insane information that made me scream and believe in my mom's theory of latter-day post-imperial cosmopolitanisms even more (the way it dovetails with [redacted]'s family geographies) but is mostly so specific it makes me feel as though kismet is telescopically stalking me backwards though the space-time continuum, and I have to invent trans-temporal stargate technology to prevent Aristotle from being born or something, I don't know, man. Ahhhhh
