Golden Knights vs. Emerald Titans: A Battle for the Ages
The crowd roared as the Golden Knights faced off against the Emerald Titans under the Friday night lights. Captain Brody Gold led his team with unshakable determination, rallying his players for what would become a game for the history books.
The Titans struck first, with a swift 45-yard touchdown pass, putting the Knights on the defensive. But Ares, number 29 linebacker, and Trevor, number 52 defense lineman, charged forward with relentless aggression, delivering a game-changing sack that set the tone for the Knights' comeback.
Chevy, number 63, responded with an explosive 30-yard run, bulldozing through defenders like a force of nature. The Knights closed the gap with a touchdown, tying the game at 7-7.
In the second quarter, Hercules, number 28 linebacker, showcased his legendary strength by stopping a critical fourth-down attempt, igniting the crowd. With momentum on their side, Brody Gold orchestrated a perfect play, connecting with Ezan, number 01 wide receiver, for a breathtaking 50-yard touchdown pass. The Knights took the lead, 14-7.
The Titans refused to back down, scoring twice in the third quarter to reclaim the lead, 21-14. But the Knights' defense held firm. Ares and Hercules formed an impenetrable wall, forcing the Titans into a series of punts.
With two minutes left in the game, the Knights trailed by three. Chevy darted through the Titans' defense, setting up a dramatic 20-yard pass to Ezan, who leapt above two defenders to secure the ball. Now within striking distance, Brody Gold faked a handoff and dove into the end zone himself, sealing the game with a final score of 28-24.
The Golden Knights celebrated their hard-fought victory, with Captain Brody Gold raising his helmet high. The battle was won, and the Knights proved their resilience yet again.

Gay Cheerleaders AU
Y'all knew it was coming.
I'm thinking Lena would be the... third(?) year veteran, who is a legacy. Her mom Lillian was also a cheerleader, and then became the head honcho in charge of the cheerleading division. Lena grew up with the expectation of eventually joining the organization as a dancer, and naturally becomes a group leader (the youngest 1st group leader in the history of the organization?) through her sense of responsibility, magnetism, and compassion, even if she remains a little distant-- she doesn't share her whole self with the team, as she's constantly aware of needing to present the image of a perfect cheerleader, a perfect leader.
Kara would be the rookie, immediately awed by Lena's performance during tryouts. She's not in Lena's group, but her own group leader faces some... personality challenges, lets say, that have Kara taking on more of a responsibility than would normally be allocated to a first year dancer.
But when Kara and Lena end up bumping into each other in the studio for some solo practice, they agree to share the space and work together. Of course they end up bonding, and those practices lead to coffees, lunches, some movie nights.
They eventually become the darlings of the team, inseperably so. Young fans try to catch glimpses of them standing together on the sidelines, loving to see Kara acting herself (aka goofy) and seeing Lena laughing in response. Behind the scenes they become romantically and sexually involved, but they keep it hidden because while it's not explicitly forbidden, they do cheer for a very conservative state, and they know it would impact not only their squad but the team overall.
In their day jobs, Lena is a children's dance teacher-- she wants to do more, but Lillian wants it for the community-service image it presents. Kara would be a fitness trainer I think, something lucrative but flexible and reflective of her athletic and exuberant nature whereas Lena is a bit more reserved.
Kara and Lena span multiple seasons/classes, and in the off season Lena pops up on Kara's instagram a little bit here and there, which only fuels the quiet online rumors about them. Like, the people who clock them are also queer in a conservative region of the country, so it's not a mass pop-culture phenomenon-- yet.
That all changes when one night Lena is grabbed inappropriately by a cameraman or other stadium employee, and can't manage to extricate herself despite her obvious and vocal discomfort. Kara sees red. She slugs the man right across the jaw with a proper right hook. The cameras had only just started to pan over to Lena's commotion and catches the exact moment Kara lunges for him and spins Lena out of his reach.
Kara is the champion/brute of the moment, depending on who's talking. Some laud her for both her protectiveness of her teammate and her technique, while others condemn her for unladylike vigilantism. Why didn't she let the security team deal with it, she serves a role model for young girls what is she teaching them the thug life?
Most importantly-- and most dire, perhaps-- is that it clues Lillian into the deeper nature of their relationship. She corners Lena, and interrogates her as Lena tries and tries to deflect. Lillian all but tells her that she'll be watching Lena through a microscope, and terrifies Lena to the point she breaks up with Kara in an attempt to protect her tenure with the organization.
Kara doesn't really care about all that, but when Lena says it's what she wants, she respects that. Until the team goes to the superbowl, and in the height of emotions at the winning touchdown, Lena forgets herself and throws her arms around Kara's neck and kisses her.
She's stunned at herself, horrified even, but before she can even try to apologize Kara recovers and kisses her again, this time long and slow. The cameras not on the players or stadium stands are focused on them, and the next day and weeks they are the only ones anyone can talk about, for better or worse.
Lillian uses Lena's next year, her fifth and final, as leverage. Apologize publicly for her lapse in judgement, confirm it was only ever friendship, condemn Kara for assault-- or she's out.
Lena listens calmly, then smoothly rises.
"Then I'm out."
She walks out without a second glance.
#supercorp#gay cheerleaders au#american football cheerleading is bizarre#but interesting#obvs this story would also be a commentary on the harm the industry does to its girls#and lena walking away would be a huge victory on so many level#inspired/informed by the dallas cowboys cheeleader documentary on netflix

The Wishful Football Player
After being cut from the team, a football player makes a wish to play no matter what. Little does he know, his wish will lead to unexpected changes.
Our protagonist, a dedicated wide receiver for his local college football team, was having a difficult time. Despite his best efforts, he wasn't able to meet the team's expectations.
After a rather disastrous practice, the coach decided to cut him off. The only way he could still be on the team was by bulking up and playing as an offensive lineman.
Disheartened, the football player returned home. He gazed at the night sky from his window, a shooting star streaking across. It was then, he made a wish - to be on the team no matter what.
The coach called the next morning, informing him that he was back on the team. Overjoyed, he hurriedly got ready and rushed to the field.
In the locker room, he realized something odd - his uniform was too large for him, a size XXL. Despite the strange feeling, he put it on and headed out.
As he walked towards the field, he began to feel heavier. Reaching the field, he realized he had grown and gained weight. He now weighed 300 pounds, fitting perfectly into his XXL uniform.
His teammates gawked at his transformation. The coach, although surprised, was pleased with his new physicality and readiness to take on the offensive lineman position.
His size and strength now made him a formidable player. He practiced with newfound vigor, his shots powerful and precise.
The day of the big game arrived. The football player, now an offensive lineman, stood tall and ready on the field, his mind filled with determination.
As the game progressed, he blocked and tackled like a pro. His performance was outstanding, earning cheers from the crowd and nods of approval from his coach.
In the end, their team won the game, and our football player was lauded as the game changer. His coach patted his back, appreciating his remarkable transformation.
The football player looked at the trophy in his hands, feeling proud and grateful. His wish had come true, not in the way he expected, but in a way that made him stronger.

I think the only lesson I've learned over the past two months is that if I want to finish magical novel number five before I die, I have GOT to be more horny about it.
and the male lead needs to be worse. like, he needs to be so much worse.
#also the ending should probably be football because the american audience understands team a must keep magical item from team b#that's the level of complexity we gotta aim for#how do i make the Antilles indigenous death god myth story into football

Haven't watched bridgerton but saw your tags & they made me laugh 😂 Perhaps she was just pretending to be out for five days. Like 'finally some peace and quiet'. Bonk
Spoilers for season 2 of Bridgerton, I guess.
Here is how it goes. She is on a horse. She is good at riding horses, as she's demonstrated repeatedly throughout the season. It is raining. Her suitor/lover/ex/whatever shows up and her horse rears in response, dumping her from the saddle. She falls to the ground and does not get up. Suitor checks on her and discovers 1. she's out cold and 2. She is bleeding from the back of her head.
He brings her to her home. She does not wake up during this time. She does not wake up for days. I don't know that the number of days was specified, but it seems to be around four or five.
She wakes up. She immediately recognizes her sister. She says she feels fine. She remembers the ride in the rain and falling from her horse. She is immediately concerned about whether her suitor came to visit her while she was sleeping and not, you know, the life threatening concussion she just had.
Friends, this woman is dead. She is not among the living. She is passed on. Bereft of life, she rests in peace. If someone sustains a head injury and is not somewhat conscious again in like 30 minutes, there is a strong possibility they will never be conscious again (especially without the interventions of modern medicine--neurosurgery is needed for severe injuries).
There is no button on your head that if you push it hard enough, you get a nice nap that lasts a random amount of time. That's not what a concussion is. It's brain damage. You don't just get a concussion and "sleep it off." In fact, if you see someone get a concussion and they decide they really want to go to sleep, it is your duty to 1. keep them awake and 2. get them to a fucking emergency room.
Now they didn't have emergency rooms in Bridgerton, but that doesn't matter, because she's dead. She died. She's pushing up the daisies. Four days. FOUR DAYS. But let's say a miracle occurred and she's not dead.
She almost definitely would not remember her injury. That memory was knocked the fuck out of her brain before it could be stored away and 2. probably the morning ride was forgotten, too and 3. she might even lose the preceding few days if she hit her head that hard and 4. she would absolutely be suffering from brain damage, because that's what a concussion is. It's brain damage. You bruise your brain and neurons die and you hope it wasn't very many or it wasn't any important ones (they are all important that is your BRAIN).
Kate would be left with anything from blurry vision and trouble concentrating to having to learn how to walk or talk again. She could have gone blind or deaf. She would almost definitely have one hell of a headache. She would not be spinning about the dance floor that evening because she would be too dizzy and uncoordinated for that shit and she would be for days if not weeks if not permanently. Even in a moderate case with eventual full recovery, post-concussion syndrome can last for months, and it sucks.
I am TIRED of shows using brain damage like it's a tiny lil nap. Just knock someone out and then you can sneak past them/skip the plot ahead hours/have them languish in bed for days and not feel guilty for it. It doesn't work like that. Bonking your head and going to sleep for four hours is a life-threatening life-altering situation, and not a "tee hee we snuck past the enemies without having to kill anyone!"
#if you really want someone to languish in bed give them a virus#or shit give them something life threatening if your story has magic or some shit#but if you are in the real world yeah no fucking brain damage isn't this harmless thing you wake up from refreshed#anyway wear helmets don't play american football etc etc#bridgerton#I guess lmao#like the costumes thing i don't care about because this show is already so historically inaccurate and random#I consider it more of an AU than a historical fiction#so they can wear whatever they want#but brain damage is still real unless someone specifies 'actually in the ton our brains are made of steel'

Look yes Stan is very Boy Next Door to me, but, like, if the boy next door also got way too invested in D&D, tried to pet every squirrel he sees, said “uh, thanks” and started crying as a response to getting kissed, and learned elvish to impress his best friend
#*wakes up and immediately starts Stanposting*#like bruh this man#lmm voice: look at my son#he is the conventionally attractive American boy football captain who is also a total dork and not ashamed of it#this is specifically OJV Stan but definitely applies to all my Stans#I just enjoy him#starting on episode 2 of Bedtime Stories With PCE and absolutely gonna sob bc I love he#south park#stan marsh

you know, its not brought up in fics often but ted is extremely well read. he doesnt brag about it, but hes read everything from f scott fitzgerald's b sides to ayn rand's doorstoppers to the sixteen book Ender series, etc etc etc. Ted reads about as much as we see Beard reading (which. in my head is a trait that was passed on, a new focus to sharpen the mind and keep him out of trouble and his mind off drugs, something Ted offered up as a coping mechanism for when his own dad died, a way to have fun and adventure and escape without ending up in jail like Ted himself had a handful of times before, scaring the bejeezus out of his ma.)
this turned into a mini fic and i lost my train of thought but point is, Ted reads So Much and more people need to pick up on this in fics please and thank you.
#ted lasso#hes got an artistic soul!#but also anyone whos fav book is the fountainhead must be both well read and stubborn as a bull#its a slog and thats coming from someone whos read both infinite jest and les mis#im getting through it slowly but surely. mostly to stretch my story endurance before jumping into atlas shrugged#also. yes i know we have no evidence that he read all 16 ender books#but having had read them myself i know in my heart of hearts that ted absolutely finished every one of them with gusto#probably on the bus to and from games with his team back in the US#no wait hold on. he was a backup punter right? that means LOTS of time sitting on the sidelines waiting for a whole bunch of nothing#lots of time was spent watching the plays and the team and formulating im sure (which is also probably why he trusts nate so much in the#beginning. bc that used to be him sitting on the sidelines taking it all in) but also theres long stretches of no play in american football#during which he probably read like a demon to keep his grades up and keep his scholarship#so that this ma never had to worry about him away at school. He wasnt going to get into trouble anymore not like he did in high school#he had to be the man of the house and gosh darn it was he going to do it with gusto#which meant good grades and learning about life and people and spending all that free time the right way#therefore: books. an easy habit that keeps him out of trouble and keeps his mama proud. plus itd be easy to hide from coaches under his pad#if they ever had a problem with it (which im sure they would at first but once he proved he was paying attention and wormed his way in#with the team even as a reserve well. they were less eagle-eyed after that concerning the paperback-shaped lumps under his jersey)#anyway have another mini fic i guess lol#im feeling a tad verbose today
