I think it’s really sweet when people point out that in getting married/engaged to Callum that Rayla would then become Princess Consort/ Crown Princess but it is also extremely funny because I wholeheartedly believe Rayla wouldn’t realize that until its too late

Astrid asking everyone at the Sunfire Camp if they’re Aunt Amaya was hella cute because like yeah, of course she would have no idea who Callum’s Aunt Amaya is, she barely has any idea who Callum is! He’s mostly the Mage out of the Mage and the Warrior pair to her, so then when Callum sends her to warn “Aunt Amaya” as he puts it because he’s rushing and being casual, she’s now faced with an entire camp of people, any one of whom could be the one she’s looking for. so then she’s going around asking people individually, and complimenting everyone and being friendly as she goes. your honour I love her so much. And then the way words clearly got back to Amaya anyway and she comes in all like “it’s QUEEN Amaya actually” paired with that queenly pose it’s like aw hell yeah queen, only to follow it up with a wry and warm “but I take it you know my nephews” like anyways I just love that whole sequence it was amazing

Rewatching Amaya scenes from Season 1 and do you know what the first word she signs is? Right in her introductory scene?

It's "love."

Gren translates this as "I'm so happy you're safe," which is a perfectly correct gloss, but a more literal translation would be something like, "I love that you're safe."

And I'm having so many emotions over the fact that the very first thing we as the audience see Amaya sign is "love" because that is such a big motivation for her. Love for her sister, love for Callum and Ezran, love for Janai. Underneath the sarcasm and anger and punching, it's all about love.

For the record, you can pry my “Sarai used to be in the Crownguard before she married Harrow” headcanon from my cold, dead hands

Amaya trained the Standing Battalion and Sarai trained the Crownguard, and their ability to work together is why Katolis had the strongest fighting force in the Pentarchy

You can also pry “Sarai and Soren were insanely close before her death” from my cold, dead hands. Maybe not even then, because I’m gripping this idea tightly, even in death

Sarai helped Soren and his family manage his illness because of her experience with Damian. And Soren was just so excited that the Head Crownguard was hanging out with him! Even when he was at his worst, he’d always perk up if he could see Sarai train the soldiers from his bedroom window, or regale him with stories of legendary battles at his bedside

After Soren got better and Sarai left the Crownguard to become Princess of Katolis, she offered to show him the basics of swordplay and strategy to help Soren with all of his pent-up energy. Even though he wouldn’t be interested in poetry until years later, Soren was introduced to the concept through Sarai, who’d recite some of Damian’s old work for him during their time together. Sarai had essentially become one of Soren’s constants after his family fell apart with Lissa leaving, Viren growing cold, and Claudia throwing herself into magic

At least until she died, heroically saving his dad
