tfone au where OP is created as the last of the primes but way after them, a sparkling born at what were thought to be the last days of the war against the quintessons, the beginning of a new generation of peace after eons of war. a child meant to be loved and raised knowing nothing of war nor sacrifice.

he's kept mostly out of the spotlight by his siblings, who don't wish to expose him to everyone's optics so young, and want to wait until the war is done and over to properly introduce him to their people.

except of course the primes are betrayed and murdered by sentinel, the war is lost and everyone who knows and cared for the truth is either banished or outright killed in order to suppress it.

and the high guard, the ones the primes trusted the most, the ones that were supposed to protect them, the ones who failed in their most important duty, have to make a choice. to take the last prime, their last hope, with them to the surface, a hostile environment where there's little to no supplies and where they'll be hunted down by both sentinel and the quintessons as the biggest threat to their regimen.

or hide him in plain sight. place him where sentinel won't think to look for him. one more sparkling among many. and hope it will be enough to keep him alive. pray to primus that he'll protect his last child long enough for them to come back for him when it's safer (even if most of them have already lost their faith on him when he allowed the rest of his children to be massacred like that)

they almost lose their resolve when they realize they will have to take the little one's cog away in order to make him blend in with the rest of the newborns (and oh do they burn with murderous intent when they see what sentinel has done to their people but it's not the time yet-) but in the end they decide an impaired little prime is better than a dead one.

and so in the chaos of thirteen dead primes and a sudden energon crisis, a little sparkling who very few mechs really knew about and even fewer had seen completely vanishes. and in the depths of iacon a mech in charge of a new batch of newborns scratches their helm in confusion as they realize they must have miscounted the first time.

optimus prime is quietly erased from any official records by sentinel, written off as dead when they find a sparkling's frame mangled beyond recognition after an attack on the base of those rebels that insist on being a thorn on his side. killing the sparkling hadn't been precisely in his plans, he probably could've found some use for it after all, but he's not particularly upset about it either.

and orion pax grows up with an ache on his spark that tells him he's missing something far more important than a t-cog and dreams of gentle and loving hands, cradling him against the frames of mechs he cannot recall the faces of.

this small exchange manages to both convey the characters' personalities to a T and act as a microcosm of the crushing setting of the story

Just Fenris things:

1: impossible to contain. Can open doors including with knobs, fence gates, kennels, and crates of all types. Both to let himself in somewhere and to let himself out of something

2: barkbarkbarkbarkbarkbarkbarkbark

3: took a long walk, had a 30 minute run, and another 30 minute play session with dog friends, and STILL had enough energy to bounce around and be a pest

4: increasingly destructive when bored, a problem exacerbated by #1

5: the 5 braincells he has are constantly devoted to mischief at all times

Anyway remember how I keep saying that 1-1.5 year old intact males get dumped at the shelter significantly more than any other demographic for the breed? Yeah... yeah.

I really like how in these flashback scenes in Psylocke Alyssa Wong has really emphasized that Kwannon has never been simply a heartless weapon and killer. That she always has been compassionate and would do everything in her power to protect those she cares about. I love specifically in that scene when she intentionally loses to Mitsuki so she can have warm meal instead of her.

Honestly, I'm not super jazz with the "trained assassin since birth" backstory that was given to her, just because that sorta origin is pretty trope-y for an Asian woman. But I think Wong has really taken that and has steered it away from an orientalist place (instead of, ie. the ruthless Dragon Lady Asian woman has to learn The Power of Love sorta deal, which. icky.)

Power Bottom- A receiving partner who is dominant or takes control during sex; in essence flipping the stereotype of the submissive bottom in the sexual dynamic. Basically “submissive role, dominant motivation”.

Service Top-a dominant partner who prioritizes their partners pleasure above their own. Basically “dominant role, submissive motivation”.

I appreciate that you’re still willing to trade information with me. The more we know about what y’all built in the Dream, the more we can avoid the attention of your Gods. I admit that Terrestrial dreamships aren’t exactly my expertise, but I’ll explain them as best I can.

Our dreamships are more or less golems with boats built around them. Think shapeshifting octopus hermit crab. The golem is built to swim through the Dream while sharing senses with the pilot. I’m not sure how. Oz says it’s something to do with a mix of manual controls, conditioning, and some kind of “touch interface”. Like steering a horse with the reins and also light mind control. Horse is actually a good comparison. These golems are just fabricated beasts of burden.

They typically come in three sizes: Hellion, Cetan, and Galgantes. Pretty much just small, medium, and large. Hellions are usually used for long range scouting, light cargo, smuggling, and gunships. Cetans are for cargo, mass transport, and battleships. Galgantes are actually quite rare. There’s only like, a handful of them. They’re reserved for scaring pirates and getting blown out of the sky when a militia inevitably tries their hand at conquest.

Like most things planetside, dreamships are made to order. If you wanted to get your hands on one, you have to find yourself a Golemcrafter. Most places have laws around what can and cannot be commissioned, of course. Commissioning a gunship when you’re not a militia is a big nono in most places. But laws are kind of inconsistent down here, and most crafters are pretty chill as so long as you don’t draw too much attention to yourself.

Speaking of doing too much, why do y’all’s dreamships moan like that? I do not care for it.

You know what?

While drinking my coffee just now, I was brainstorming between myself and myself regarding my own OC for Gale, and while I have *finally* a general idea of how I want her to look (palette is ready to go and also the general vibes to her)and about her personality ("A Tranquil Mischief"- I basically decided to make her Puck to her Archfey Patron Titania), when I was working on which class would she be, I was leaning to a multiclass Bard/Warlock.

But then I thought, "You have Aranea as a warlock already, are you really going for another one?"

(not even my own brain can tell me what I cannot do. I would do it out of spite, just because lol)

To which I replied to myself: "I can and I will. And you know what, I will retcon Aranea's original warlock concept, and so Gale's love is going to be a freaking Archfey Warlock - because fml it suits her mischievous personality to a T. Like, blame the fact that yesterday night I was rereading "Changeling: The Dreaming" for inspiration for something else entirely, and this morning my brain just connected everything together.

SO YEAH.

I have *finally* a concept to start building on, so now we will see where this will lead and if I will finally have an OC that sticks for Gale (I need to have an oc cuddling him fml. I need. it's a physical need at this point).

Also also, I haven't forgotten about my own Azriel and Asra, absolutely not! For Asra, I am going to pair her up with Rolan (because my no-nonsense druid can and will match his pompous energy to a T, and will bring him down to Earth when the Hubris starts flying too high). I can see them butting heads like there is no tomorrow, and EVERYONE can see that they really like each other, but they will deny this to the end of the Earth and back.

Azriel, instead is a mystery. While I want my swashbuckling tiefling to run around Faerun (because honestly, her whole design appeals to me on a whole other level) I am still pondering on HOW to use her, and part of me was actually thinking to reconnect her to be the youngest daughter of Mephisto and Aranea, born much later in life and that wants NOTHING to do with her Hellions family (which is something that is actually solidifying more and more in my mind tbh).

SO YES.
