In less than a week, I’ve been ghosted by Kathy for no apparent reason, and Chris—someone I always thought was smart and had a great sense of humor—went completely unethical on me and then bit my head off for agreeing with him. I went over our exchange again and I must really be missing something, or maybe he's losing it, because I don’t see what set him off. I don't care, but at the same time, I'm naturally curious about understanding things. I’ve sensed for a while that he hasn’t been happy, so maybe his mental state is a factor. His writing was full of anger, but as I said, I do understand and agree with what he was saying. That’s why his lashing out at me came as such a shock.
Nonetheless, I am so sick of trying to figure out what makes people tick. You think you're intuitive and good with people, then realize you don’t know a damn thing. Fuck humanity! I'm totally not open to making new friends. Tracking blog visitors has become less reliable since more people are either hiding or appearing where they’re not. Still, while I appreciate anyone’s curiosity I’m not up for chatting unless you're someone I’m already friends with. I’ve disabled comments everywhere except for friends on LJ. I’m still on the fence about my PB accounts—should I continue as I have, make them private, friends-only, or just delete them altogether? I don’t want to regret it if I delete them, but I don’t think I’ll be using them much anymore. I’ll finish the bio and maybe the rest of the month, but I might start doing monthly updates instead and just drop in a whole month at a time.
I always thought I’d feel more comfortable on privately owned sites, but I don’t. I’d rather stick to ones run by big companies where the personal feelings and preferences of those in charge don’t get in the way. What Chris did was so messed up. He can go shove his crooked nose right up his ass.
We're finally getting lows in the 60s, and next week might even dip into the 50s. One downside to returning to the desert is dealing with hotter summers and colder winters, but it’ll be worth it. Still not sure if we’ll be able to pull it off, though. We’ve set a five-year deadline, and if we’re still here in 2030, this place will have been our longest stay. Tom will be in his early 70s then, and unless a hurricane demolishes it, we'll probably live out the rest of our lives here. Yes, I hate it when the snowbirds return, but I’ll at least enjoy it when they leave.
Walmart still isn’t delivering, so Tom went just before 7:00 a.m., and it was a nightmare. He said it felt like a zombie apocalypse—tons of cars lined up, the store jam-packed, and this was early morning. Half the shelves were empty, and it was chaos. He’d rather pay more and shop at Publix like a normal human being where it’s not a madhouse. He said there were only a few loaves of bread left, and they were torn.
His tinnitus has been acting up lately, but we’re not sure why.
I can't figure out why my bangs are growing so slowly. The rest of my hair is growing but my bangs are taking forever to grow out long enough to pull back.
I hope my crown getting ready to fall out again, because sometimes when I bite down, it feels a little funny.
I have what should be my final CVS order on its way, thanks to my free quarterly benefits. It’s just basic stuff like pain relievers and anti-itch cream.
I’m also getting another patterns coloring book. I think I like coloring patterns the most because there are no rules. Sure, anyone can color an apple any color they want, but it still feels weird to color one blue or purple. When I think of apples, I think red or green.
I love that Google Docs added tabs! Now instead of dumping a whole story into one long doc like Word, I can organize each chapter into its own tab—kind of like how Prosebox does books with multiple posts representing each chapter.
Lately, I’ve been trying to organize my files better. I’ve got notes and docs scattered all over—Outlook Notes, Google Docs, blogs, Word, etc.—so I’m grouping things to make them easier to find.
Lastly, I had AI make me a simple, dark silhouette of a female head to use on PB. I’ll keep it indefinitely since it doesn’t clash with the background.

DNP Rewatch: A Day in the Life of Dan and Phil in JAPAN!
Tumblr media
Date video was published: 04/22/2015 (X)
DNP Main Channel Rewatch: 267
The first Japan trip! DNP were in Japan from April 9 (also when Nick Jonas tweeted “hey buddy you in London?” to Dan 😂) to April 20. Phil was calling it his dream holiday before they even left. I’m going to split their tweets/Instagram posts between this post and the next one (for DAN AND PHIL JAPAN HAUL!) based on what they’re talking about in the video.
This is really soon after the last DITL video, which was just in December 2014. I always write way too much for these, so here we go...
0:00 - this is the most energetic start to a DITL video. Also the first joint intro. I feel like usually Dan is holding the camera when filming both of them, but not here. They lighting is much better than they think it is, lol.
Tumblr media
0:07 - there we go with Dan taking over the camera holding. They really do look happy.
0:12 - “Phil and Dan” for once, just to make the rhyme work. Although not in the video title.
0:19 - awwww, cute inclusion of fan art!
0:21 - starting the adventure with a toilet is so random. Dan’s giggle in the background is amazing.
0:35 - I get the impression that Dan knows this is a bad idea but is making Phil do it anyway
0:47 - Dan’s hyena laugh! Phil looks shocked but is still grinning so much at Dan doubled over laughing in the background.
Tumblr media
0:50 - there are a lot of shots of the...um...hotel room layout in this, and I’m gonna guess they got some invasive questions because of that...
1:07 - the hairdryer method; smart. They are so excited about this room.
1:30 - I am also not sure if I would want fish for breakfast, not being used to that. Phil tweeted about it too.
1:53 - what are Duncan and Mimei doing with their hands over their mouths in the background?
Tumblr media
1:58 - this trip was the first time they had met Duncan and Mimei in person, but they had been “internet friends” for a long time. Both of them recorded voices for Phil’s TOILET TAG video.
2:16 - I do not entirely know what Phil is seeing here. I guess their cheeks and maybe noses are a bit similar? I’m bad at faces.
Tumblr media
2:39 - I can see why they needed someone to help show them around
2:52 - apparently Phil’s desire to sit down outweighed his social awkwardness here
3:06 - we didn’t need a sad dog story!
3:26 - Tokyo just feels so BIG even from these little clips
3:48 - wonder where Dan is standing up higher to film this. I don’t think I had ever managed to find Phil before, but maybe...?
Tumblr media
3:53 - Dan always wants Phil to kiss or lick something in these DITL for some reason
3:58 - filming Dan just because. This clip reminds me so much of the third photo here.
3:59 - “almost got run over” PHIL. 😨
4:09 - I love that every country apparently has it’s own version of a “dollar store”
4:17 - the running whisk joke. Dan cannot escape.
Tumblr media
4:21 - I love these word things for no reason
4:39 - awww, Phil tried
4:52 - it’s the drumming game they will eventually get and play on DAPG!
5:01 - Dan was ready to be so impressed
5:15 - I love that they decided to film the photobooth process too, lol. Some of these editing options are terrifying. Phil shared one of the final photos.
5:35 - Dan writing “Kawaii AF” is very Dan.
5:42 - I love “WE don’t trust me with scissors.” Oh, Phil. “That’s some good scissoring.” OH PHIL. 😳
5:47 - this is hilarious and also WHY
6:03 - Phil looks ashamed, lol. It’s cute that Phil just wants some familiar comfort food.
6:39 - Dan with this “sudden death” sauce. Duncan looks actually horrified at how much he uses.
Tumblr media
7:03 - and then Phil immediately just screams 😂
7:37 - it does look like the roof of Dil’s house. Although there is still no explanation for why they decided to call that an “owl slide”
7:43 - Duncan is hilarious
8:14 - this clip is a great example of DNP just playing off of each other and improv-ing something funny. At least until Phil just gives up, haha.
8:42 - I love them all simultaneously deciding to dance for a moment
8:49 - “I wish I was him” Phil sure does have some one-liners in this video.
8:55 - “go kiss it” again with the kissing. Of course Phil has to pretend he’s also a bird when chasing it. And Dan’s “wildlife” commentary.
Tumblr media
9:17 - Phil seems so genuinely upset that the bird doesn’t like him
9:29 - Mimei’s just like... “no.” We don’t see any cherry blossoms in this video, but they did see some during the trip (also Dan put #japhan on this photo after someone on Twitter suggested he change it, so there’s that...)
10:01 - I mean...there are a lot of people walking through the middle. LMAO at Phil’s confident walk.
10:17 - those barrels are really beautiful
10:44 - Dan awwing at the hearts in the building architecture 🥺
11:07 - Dan looks embarrassed at Phil but Phil’s is cute. Gonna guess Dan would cringe so much at his now. I am cringing.
Tumblr media
11:31 - I love that they find the kid’s one so cute
11:42 - I wonder if they’re working on the 7-second challenge app at this point (it comes out later in the year). There are a lot of “rap about...” things in that.
11:55 - amazing. I love these password safety signs.
12:16 - more Phil just filming Dan walking ahead of him
12:32 - subtle, Dan.
12:47 - Phil has to make sure to tease Dan about this on camera
12:52 - “bukkake” 😳 You can tell Duncan must have told them this when they weren’t filming and then Dan made him repeat it for the camera, lol.
12:55 - the synchronized “oh my god” at the sight of food 😂
13:06 - all of that looks delicious
13:26 - I love the jump into this clip with Dan just licking his crepe mindlessly and then his reaction as he notices the camera
Tumblr media
13:32 - I don’t think “onomatopoeia” was the word Phil was looking for here...
13:36 - oh, there’s some cherry blossoms, maybe! So colorful! They also took a picture with Duncan and Mimei here that I love a lot.
13:57 - I love Phil. 😂
14:07 - I bet it was weird for DNP to be on the other side of this for once. And also nice to have a bit of a break.
14:22 - that is a beautiful Starbucks.
14:27 - “graceful...like a hippo” ahahaha 😂
14:33 - Mimei giggling at Dan’s use of “crapu”
14:39 - cute DNP faces, and necessary annotation about the background. wtf.
Tumblr media
14:41 - self-aware Dan. They do always end up at Starbucks.
14:57 - they do the Attack on Titan theme so much
15:11 - that would be something Phil notices
15:19 - well this whole clip is something else. Dan is not wrong.
Tumblr media
15:38 - they love to entertain themselves and the other person with just any random thing. They just seem to be having fun.
16:08 - Dan calling Phil “firu” here, which is Japanese for “fill” is very cute🥺
16:09 - welcome to the clip that sparked a huge debate as to whether or not they were holding hands. Just...why would they even risk that with the camera on. I’m pretty sure Phil is just carrying a shopping bag in his hand, which you can see at 16:17 too, and is why he’s holding his arm more stiffly.
16:25 - that is very very tall. I don’t mind heights and I think it would even make me nervous.
16:38 - DNP love a view
17:04 - Phil doing it but then immediately getting off the glass
17:21 - Phil calling their hotel “home.” They got more confident with navigating by their second Japan trip, apparently.
17:32 - Duncan and Mimei are great.
17:56 - they’ve got a nice view there too. Joint sign-off as always in DITLs.
Tumblr media
18:27 - lol at Dan promo-ing himself and Phil being too tired to say much of anything
I mean, I love all of the DITL videos and this one is no exception. They just seem to be having so much fun on this day. DNP were really so excited about this trip.
I do like that they chose to only film on one day, and just enjoy the rest of it. I’m sure they needed a bit of a break after the TABINOF announcement and before the craziness of the tour starting. They did share some photos of things they did on other days, of course (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).

Chapter 2
5:00 am my phone read.
It was usual for my brain to be awake at this hour. Since before I can remember it was part of the schedule I followed, everywhere I went. It was a small thing, but the sense of normalcy was a comforting friend. It made sense to follow a routine I could have anywhere. I was out of bed and into workout clothes, ready for a quick jog around the woods.
I started off with a slow and comfortable trot before speeding up once I reached the tree-filled terrain. The smell of wet soil, the sound of birds chirping and leaves rustling, the crunching of leaves under my feet was oddly comforting. There was a strange pull that came from the heart of Beacon Hills. I had lived in many places in my short lifetime but this place was different, the atmosphere was different, the people were different. One of those people was Derek Hale, the mysterious, broody, sarcastic man that had bumped his way in.
Speak of the devil and he shall appear.
"Why are you stopping?" He asked, a small chuckle escaping his mouth.
"How did you get here? Where the hell did you come from?"
"You're not the only person who jogs in this town and this happens to be the trail I take. You know, you should work out on a trail that is closer to your house. Makes it easier to actually go back."
I looked around. Once again, I had trailed off and didn't know where I was. "Lucky for you, I have a great memory. We can finish off running and I'll instruct you back to your house."
"You know you sound like a stalker." We started to jog once again.
"How so?"
"Well, you've only been there like two or three times and you already know the way back. Creepy!"
"Oh, come on, it means that I have a very sharp memory. Unlike you who can't seem to remember what house you live in."
"Touché."
The con and occasionally laughing at something. It felt good talking to him, almost natural. There was a supernatural attraction that I felt when I was near him, an unusual need for his closeness. Our relationship came easy, as the cliché would have it, it felt like I had known him all my life.
We ran for about an hour and a half before we turned back. "I think it's time we went back. You have school in an hour."
"Whoa, take the stalking down a notch."
"Oh, come on, I went to that school before you, I think I know the schedule."
"Alright, grandpa. Let's head back. It's time for your breakfast smoothie and then some bingo."
"Very funny." He ruffled my hair whilst fake laughing.
"I try." We ran and ran until I came into view of the curb that led to the house. "Well, this is my exit. Would it be too much to ask for you to take me to school?"
"Not a problem. Meet you back here at 7:45?"
"That would be perfect." He kissed my cheek and left to run to where I believe was his house. My face turned red, and I ducked inside.
"Mom? Dad?" I entered the kitchen and noticed a note over a covered plate. "Left for work early. Eat your food and go to school." I read out loud.
I took my time getting ready for school. My bag was already packed, as was my lunch. A long shower and a slow breakfast were in store as I awaited Derek's black Camaro to roll into my driveway.
"Thanks so much for the lift. I packed you some breakfast."
"No problem and thank you." He smiled. "You know, maybe after school, I can finally give you a tour around town. So you can familiarize yourself."
"That would be wonderful." I checked my schedule. "Actually, you can pick me up an hour before school ends. I have study hall at that hour, and no one would care if I left."
"I think I can make that arrangement." He looked at me showing a perfect set of white teeth and a smile that would make anyone melt. "But wouldn't your parents know that you left school? I mean, you won't be there when they go pick you up."
"I'll just tell them Allison gave me a ride or walked home," I said thinking of more excuses I could tell my parents. Distracted by my thoughts, my hand started reaching out to the powered-off radio and I didn't notice that so did Derek's. A sharp current went up my arm as our hands make contact. We both quickly pulled away and I could feel the blood rushing to my face turning it a deep shade of red.
"Sorry, I shouldn't impose. It's your car." I spoke up, quick to start picking at the skin around my fingernails to busy my hands. Derek perceived the nervous nature of my actions and stopped my fussing by putting one of his hands over mine.
"Don't worry it's fine. Just put the radio on whatever station you like." He smiled reassuringly and I reached to the radio and just turned it on, leaving it in the last station it had been on.
"Ugh, I absolutely dread going to school. Most of it I'm gonna forget either way."
"I'd tell you to ditch but that would be shame on me, so I won't. But think about it, this day you'll only get 7 hours of school and then you can hang out with me. Best present ever."
"Yeah, don't think so highly of yourself. Maybe I'll just wander around town until I find my way home."
"Very funny." He stopped at the drop-off zone. "This is your stop."
"Thanks again for the ride, awfully kind actions from such a sour wolf" I laughed at his scowl. "I'll see you in the afternoon."
"Looking forward to it." I exited the car and he waited till I was on the sidewalk to speed off.
"Was that Derek Hale that just dropped you off?" I turned around and was met face-to-face with Scott.
"Yeah. What's the problem?" Not that it will matter.
"You shouldn't trust him, he's bad news."
"Honestly, Scott, I understand your good intentions, but I'll sort out the wrong kind on my own terms." He looked taken aback at my response, probably thinking I would not talk back.
"I'm sorry if I offended you, but he is not a person that anyone should be with." With that, he left with worry evident on his face.
I understood that he was looking out for my "well-being”, but he didn't know me and I'm pretty sure he didn't know Derek either. Maybe that's what Derek meant when I met him. Everyone thinks he is a bad person, but he hasn't done anything wrong in my eyes.
I walked over to my locker and started exchanging my books. Closely next to me I could hear Scott talking to Allison about me and Derek, and my name should be out of his mouth. Once I finished with my locker, I slammed the door and they both stopped talking, noting my close presence. I walked past them feeling their worried stares burning my back. This was going to be a hell of a year. The only thing that could get me through it was the acquaintance relationship I have with Isaac. I did text him a bit last night but mostly helping him with homework. Lord knows he needs all the help he can get.
We all stood around in gym class as Stiles and Erica climbed the rock wall. Everyone else had gone including Scott who mastered a great fall. Stiles appeared to have fun, but Erica would let out sounds of discomfort and shortness of breath as she climbed. At a point, she stopped.
"Erica, are you dizzy?" Coach said. "Is it vertigo?"
"Vertigo is the dysfunction of the vesicular system of the inner ear" Lydia stated in a mocking tone. "She's just freaking out."
"Erica!" Coach screamed.
"coach, maybe it’s not safe. you know she's epileptic." Allison stated. How does no one care?
"Wh-why does no one tell me this?!" Coach Finstock questioned annoyed. "Erica, just fall back, there's a mat that will catch you."
She slowly let go of the wall and made her descent. No one seemed to care that the poor girl was shaken to the core; they all laughed.
When class was over everyone headed to their respective locker rooms to change. Something inside me kept pulling me back to the gym, so I walked back as I put on my shirt. As I opened the doors, I saw Erica fall from the wall and luckily into Scott's arms. He slowly put her on the floor as the class ran in behind us.
"Put her on her side," I stated.
"How did you know?" Allison whispered to Scott.
"I just felt it." He whispered back.
After Erica had calmed, the coach called an ambulance to take her to be checked at the hospital and the day went by normally. I was currently in my "last" period. Tapping my nails in a rhythmic pattern waiting for the stupid bell to ring. Only 5 more minutes and I would be out of here. This was the first time I had done something like this. I always stick by the rules and make sure to follow all of them. My heart was racing, and my palms were sweating. In 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Cue the bell. I grabbed all my things and stuffed them in my bag. I used to my advantage the fact that everyone was piled in the hallway and headed outside. Waiting for me was Derek in his black Camaro. Suddenly my heart steadied its pace and I felt relaxed.
"Hey there, rebel." He smirked at me as I entered the car and buckled my seatbelt.
"Don't make small talk. Just go." I said whilst trying to hide by burrowing in the seat. If I could I would have jumped into the trunk to avoid any hidden stares from authority figures.
"Don't tell me you've never done this before." I shook my head no and felt my face growing warmer by the second. "Aw, you're so innocent. For a big mouth that is." I slapped his arm as hard as I could.
"Don't be rude." I crossed my arms, slouched down, and pouted. He looked over at me and laughed. That made me slouch farther down.
"Oh, come on. Don't get mad." He ruffled my hair and laughed once again when I swatted his hand away. "Yeesh, feisty."
"So, where's our first pit stop?" I asked whilst looking out the window not wanting to look at his face.
"A small diner I know. Wouldn't want you to starve." He smirked. "Might make you angrier."
"I am not angry, just annoyed."
"Got some feelings hurt?" He said laughing.
"Derek, don't be rude. You will regret it."
"Oh, what could you do?"
"Is that a challenge?" He didn't answer, just laughed. I rolled down the window and stuck my head out. "HELP!! This man is kidnapping me!! HELP!! Bloody he...!"
My sentence was cut short by Derek's hand pulling me down by my jacket and onto the seat again.
"Why did you do that?" I asked innocently. I had caused the faces of a few people on the street to look at the car in horror.
"You know why! That was totally uncalled for."
"I told you that being rude was something you would regret. I'm not one to say this a lot but, I told you so."
He tried his best to keep a tight scowl on his face but in a matter of seconds, we were laughing at my past actions.
"Whatever, we're here." He turned off the car and went to the passenger side to open the door for me.
"Why thank you," I said and took his extended hand to pull my weight up.
"No problem." I smiled at his goofy courtesy but as we walked inside the establishment I could feel my heart beating faster by the second. "Table for two." Derek pointed at a booth made for two people exactly. Once we had sat down a lady maybe in her late thirties approached us to take our order.
"What do you want to order today, darlings?" She gave us a warm smile as she waited for our response.
"I'll have the bacon cheeseburger with some onion rings, a stack of pancakes, and some chicken fillets, a Diet Coke, and afterward some pie, please."
"Would you like the kitchen sink with that?" I said in shock. "I think I'll just get the, ummmm, bacon cheeseburger also with some onion rings and an iced tea. Maybe add some pie afterward too."
The lady laughed a bit, nodded, and smiled at us as she turned to the kitchen to put out our order.
"So, someone's a bit hungry. Huh, sour wolf?" I chuckled.
"Why do you call me that?" He said somewhat annoyed.
"I don't know. It just fits you."
"How?"
"Cause you're very sour and you kind of look like a wolf. Hairy face and crazy hair. I don't know how to explain it. It's just a nickname, though. If it makes you mad I can just call you something else."
"I'm not mad. Just wondering." He slouched on the seat looking less tense. "How is it that I'm usually so bad with meeting people yet with you, I just clicked?"
"I don't know. I'm just special that way."
"Very funny."
"I know! I could take up a career in comedy." He chuckled as he threw a sugar packet at me. "So, since we are getting to know each other we should know basic things about one another. Let me start. What's your favorite color?"
"Maybe black or blue. What about you?"
"Totally red and black." The waitress came with our drinks. I took a sip of my iced tea and continued with the questions. "Favorite place to be?"
"That house in the woods where we met." I gave him a weird look.
"Why there? It barely stands with a foundation. What could possibly be there?"
"It's the house I used to live in before it burnt down. My family was in there." I choked on my drink when he said this.
"Oh my gosh, Derek. I'm so sorry I brought it up. We can drop the topic."
"Don't worry about it. It happened such a long time ago it's sometimes relieving talking about it." After there was an awkward silence, so Derek cleared his throat and asked a question. "Um, and what's your favorite place to be?"
"I'm not sure. Usually, I like places more because of the people I'm with. But if I had to choose probably the woods, it's the calmest place I know. The only place where you can actually be free."
"Wow, Ms. Argent. So poetic. It touched me." He pointed at his heart. "Right here."
"Very funny, now, favorite sport?" And the game went on even when our food served. Whilst eating we kept asking each other questions and getting to know each other profoundly. This has been the first time I had ever opened up to someone. It felt strange. Letting someone know small details about yourself. Making yourself vulnerable to them. Showing them how they could break you. But this was different. I felt like I was just becoming closer to him.
"We should do that someday. I mean the thought of just leaving for a whole day, not knowing where you are going, just finding an adventure."
"Definitely. You decide when the first time." I smiled at him.
"That's a deal." He looked down at his watch. "I think it's time I take you home. Don't want your parents to worry."
"Alright. Let's go." I grabbed my bag and was about to pay my part of the check, but he wouldn't let me. He grabbed the money I left and paid completely. "I don't understand the need of being such a gentleman if this wasn't a date. Just two people hanging out."
"So, this wasn't a date?"
"You thought it was?" I thought about it. "What do you classify a date per se?"
"An outing in which two people go out and get to know each other a little bit more." What he said made sense. It had never dawned on me that this could have been anything other than just a casual outing, but not being too well versed in normal social encounters, let alone dating encounters.
"Alright, you win. I have officially gone on my first date."
"No way. This could not have been your first date." When he saw the serious look on my face, he stopped chuckling. "I'm so sorry you had to have given you such a crappy first date. I promise I'll make up for it one day."
"Deal." We even shook on it. "Now let's get going before my parents know I'm late."
During the drive back, he pointed out different key places I should know when going around Beacon Hills as well as easier routes to these places. Although I was heavily grateful for all the useful tips, my brain could hardly remember the first route he showed me.
When we got to my house, I noticed that my father's car was not in there. I guess they haven't arrived yet. I said goodbye to Derek and entered the house, thanking him for a lovely afternoon. I changed into workout attire and, deciding to stay home, went to the basement and started working out. After half an hour of running and half an hour of physical training, I decided it was enough and went to take a shower. I noticed that my parents weren't home yet.
"I wonder what's holding them back?" After my shower, I continued my current read of Pride and Prejudice. But something was bothering me, a thought that wouldn't leave my head.
I'm leaving once the year is over. Getting close to Derek will fuck me up once I leave. I've never had to say goodbye to anyone. I can't start now. I'll need to start avoiding him. Don't know how, but I must try.
I went downstairs to get a glass of water when I heard a knock on the door. It was Uncle Chris.
"Hey, Uncle Chris. What are you doing here?"
"I'm looking for your father. Is he here?"
"No, I haven't seen him. I got here and neither mom nor dad was here. Is something wrong?"
"No. Just couldn't reach his cell. I'm sure he's fine. Have a good night, sweetheart." He kissed my forehead and left. I started to worry. What if something had happened?
So, I decided to call him. Fortunately, he picked up.
"Dad, where are you?"
"Oh, honey, I forgot to tell you. Your mom and I will be out for the rest of the week. We left some money on the first drawer of the right side of the kitchen island and if you want you can stay with your uncle."
"But Uncle Chris came by and he didn't know where you were. Does he know you left?"
"Oh, I forgot to call him. I'll do that right now. Goodnight, munchkin, go to sleep."
"Goodnight, dad. Love you."
"Love you too." I hung up the phone and went upstairs completely forgetting about the glass of water I went to drink.
My phone buzzed and I looked at the caller ID signaling that Isaac was calling.
"Hey, Isaac."
"Hey, (Y/N). Um, do you think you can pick me up?" Isaac said in between short pants.
"Sure, where are you?" I asked. He told me where he was, and I took the keys to my mother's car to look for Isaac. He looked scared and frantic when I neared the spot, he told me about. His physique also looked different. Usually, he would walk cowering but now he stood tall and seemed a bit more buff. "You okay?"
"Yeah, just, um, do you think I could stay with you tonight?"
"I guess." I started driving to my house. "Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yeah, totally. Just tired." I took the hint. He didn't want to talk, and I wasn't going to press on.
At my house, I arranged the guest room and got him spare clothes to change into. He thanked me and left for the bathroom. Something was wrong. But what?
***
Three days had passed.
Three days that I had stayed in my house for my daily workout.
Three days that my phone had been buzzing with messages from Derek asking where I was.
Because three nights before I had decided to avoid Derek at all costs.
The only way to leave it all behind is if you don't associate yourself with anyone. That way you won't feel any remorse or pain once you disappear. One time when I left was when I was approximately six or seven years old, and I had to say goodbye to Allison since we were sharing a room at that time. The second time was when I had to leave Josie. After that, I started familiarizing myself with the feeling of loneliness.  It wasn't that bad once you remembered the fact that you would always see your parents when you got home, and everything would be better. Although, these days I had housed Isaac in my house, rare was the occasion that we interacted other than doing homework. Isaac would come home late in the night and quickly went to sleep. But, he stayed in my spare room for two nights and told me he had found a place to stay. He left thanking me for my hospitality.
When I finished my workout, I ran upstairs and took a shower. I changed from my stinky workout clothes to a plain white shirt and black jeans, obviously paired with my leather jacket. Once dressed I went downstairs and grabbed some cash to buy myself a muffin and a big coffee. Finally, I found the keys to my beautiful matte black Harley Fat Bob. My father had gotten me this motorcycle about two years back when he noticed I just kept crashing cars. The only thing I never crashed was his motorcycle and because he was worried I would, he bought me my own. I tend to wreck a lot of stuff. It's not intentional, I'm just clumsy at times.
I opened the door to the garage and noticed it sitting in a corner covered by a blanket. Once I took it off, I smiled. I passed my hand over the beautiful color, the smooth surface, the cold metal. It all felt familiar. A part of me. I grabbed my helmet and got on it. Once I sat my body felt relaxed, at ease. A spark of adrenaline was shot through my body when the engine came to life.
I backed up from the garage and went to the local café store. While waiting to pick up my order I noticed Derek walking in with his jogging clothes on. He still hasn't noticed me, too busy looking at the menu. When my name was called, he looked at me and called my name, but I ran out of the café with my order ignoring him.
When I got to the school everyone was staring at me. The new chick was now badass. I walked in with my backpack slung over my shoulder easing towards my locker.
"Hey there, gorgeous." I closed the locker door to see Jackson standing next to me. I rolled my eyes.
"Hi, Jackson. What do you want?"
"I was just wondering when you were free."
"Oh, well from tomorrow to never gonna happen. Get down from the cloud, buddy."
"Oh, come on, we both know you want some of this." He motioned over his body.
"Get over yourself." I scoffed.
"Babe, it doesn't hurt to try."
"I believe she's not interested, Jackson." A strawberry blonde girl appeared. Her confidence struck me like lightning, a very apparent aura of dominance radiating from within her.
"Why don't you mind your own business, Lydia. I'm talking to her, not you. You've already ruined everything else."
"Well, I think she has no business with you so why don't you scram?" With a huff and a puff, Jackson finally gave in and I turned to greet my hero, who was surprisingly accompanied by Allison.
"Thank you, so much. He wouldn't take no for an answer."
"No problem. I'm Lydia, but you knew that."
"(Y/N). Argent." She motioned between Allison and me. "Cousins."
"Pleasure." Then the bell rang. "Guess I have a new best friend, (Y/N)." You guessed wrong.
I entered Mr. Harris' classroom and sat down next to Isaac and as usual Mr. Chatty Pants tried to hold a conversation from the table behind us. Seriously, how much can someone talk? I took out my notebook and started writing down everything the teacher was saying is the homework on the board. Stiles had finally gotten the hint and didn't talk to me the whole class. That was a relief. Maybe it was due to the fact he was too focused on the strawberry blonde who had saved my ass from Jackson.
The day went on quite smoothly except at lunch. It wasn't the same Erica that had fallen from the rock-climbing wall. She completely changed; a more confident walk, she was wearing makeup and tight-fitted clothing, and her hair was perfectly styled. She left the lunchroom after taking a bite off an apple seductively and Scott and Stiles followed, as did I. Curiosity had taken the best of me as to this overnight transformation.
She opened the front doors to the school and there he was. Derek Hale in his black Camaro with the biggest smirk on his face staring at Scott. When he directed his sight to me his smirk kind of fell but was brought up quickly. During that Erica had gotten inside the car and they left, together. I don't know why I was jealous because he meant nothing to me, but it broke my heart. I got nervous. I think Scott noticed because he looked at me worried.
"Are you okay, (Y/N)?" I nodded rapidly and out of breath. I had no idea what was happening.
"I think you're having a panic attack." Stiles pointed out handing me an inhaler.
"I used to have panic attacks, too." I inhaled a pump and my breathing seemed to normalize. "You okay now?"
"Yeah. Thanks." I handed him the inhaler.
"No, keep it. I don't need it anymore." I said a low thanks and walked back to school to head to my next class.
I felt extremely weird the rest of the day. Why did I feel that way when I saw Erica and Derek together? It wasn't like anything was going on between us. Also, he's far too old for me. Or maybe I'm too young. I don't know. But I couldn't shake off that sour taste of jealousy that the image of them left.
I knew I wanted to stay as far away as I could from hin but at this moment there was nothing more that I wanted than to be close to him.

I walked into the airport tiredly. Thankful it was at least somewhat empty.
"Owen why'd you book our flights so damn early?" I asked my boyfriend who was walking to my left.
"I didn't book them. Charlie did" He stated my gaze moving to the boy on my right.
"I should have known. No one but a psychopath would book a flight at the ass crack of dawn" I spoke earning a laugh from both boys.
"To be fair I thought you were a morning person y/n/n"
"Oh I am. When it's 8:00 o'clock and past that. I do not enjoy having to wake up at 4:00 o'clock in the morning to get ready. I mean seriously Charles it's still fucking dark out" I pointed out.
"Oh man. Alright I'll take that into consideration"
"Be lucky you didn't have to deal with her when the first alarm rang" Owen said making me glare at him.
"I love you baby. You know that but you just get so grumpy" He spoke making me roll my eyes.
"Did you just compare me to one of the seven dwarves? Fine. Alright. I get a little grumpy. But that's only because I have to be the big spoon too"
"Oh my god man your the little spoon" Charlie laughed as we arrived to security.
"You swore you wouldn't tell anybody" Owen whisper shouted.
"Yeah well that's just me being grumpy. Sorry babe"
"No it's cool. It's cool. Just wait until tonight" He whispered the last part in my ear before letting me go ahead.
"Seriously Charlie a knife? You tried to bring a knife on a plane?!" I asked exasperatedly as we boarded the plane.
"I didn't know they wouldn't let me bring it"
"I think it's a given that they wouldn't let you bring it dude"
"Yeah yeah"
"Well paybacks a bitch huh Charlie?" I joked handing Owen my carry on so he could put it above our seats.
"Haha y/n. I'd like you to remember that your stuck on this flight with me for the next few hours so I'd be a little nicer"
"I just can't wait to tell Jer about this" I said taking my seat next to the window. Owen taking the one to my right.
"Owennn your girlfriends being mean" Charlie complained earning a laugh from the blonde.
"I'm sorry Charlie but I can't do anything. The more she's mean to you the less she's mean to me" Owen said making me giggle.
"He's not wrong" I grinned intertwining our fingers and placing a quick kiss to Owen's cheek.
"That's all I get" He questioned making me playfully roll my eyes before pulling him in for a sweet kiss on the lips.
"Better?" I asked pulling away.
"Much" He smiled widely.
"You guys better not do that the whole plane ride"
"We won't. Gotta save something for tonight man" Owen joked. My elbow instinctively shoving itself into his arm as Charlie began to laugh.
"Ouch"
"Funny how you think your getting some tonight" I muttered.
"Am I not?"
"We'll see" I responded putting in my AirPods as the two boys began to conversate.
"Do you see your bag?" I questioned my boyfriend. We'd been stuck at baggage claim for ages trying to find Owens green suitcase.
"Nope"
"Owen" I groaned.
"There! There it is!" He shouted excitedly.
"Oh yes!" Charlie cheered as the bag reached our area.
"Let's get out of here"
"And just like that I hate airports" I said as we walked past random strangers.
"Y/n!" I heard a familiar voice shout. My eyes quickly spotting the source.
"Tori!" I screamed letting go of my boyfriends hand and running towards the girl who had her arms wide open.
I giggled engulfing her into a tight hug before turning to the rest of the group behind her.
"Kenny!" Owen and Charlie greeted their director.
"It's good to see you guys too" Jeremy spoke up.
"Care!"
"Y/n I'm so glad your here"
"I'm glad to be here. It's always good to see you too Jer" I spoke hugging him after I hugged Carolynn.
"Finally someone who appreciates me" He said making me throw my head back in laughter.
"To the hotel!"
"So what took you guys so long?" Jeremy asked as the 7 of us lounged around the pool.
"Yeah we were at terminal like 40 minutes after your flight landed.
"It's a long story"
"Speaking of stories" I smirked looking at Charlie.
"Don't" He warned pointing a finger at me.
"I didn't say anything" I giggled, back stroking away from the group.
"So me and Care we're thinking of doing some shopping tomorrow you in?" Tori questioned swimming with me.
"One hundred percent" I said glancing at Owen who was laid back on one of the lounge chairs near the pools edge. He looked so good with his swim trunks and his damp hair.
"So then we decided we'd just save it for Saturday before Care left" Toris voice brought me back to reality.
"I'm sorry what?" I asked.
"Did you hear anything I said?"
"I did not" I muttered.
"And why is that?" She asked teasingly poking my side.
"Because my boyfriend is sitting a few feet away and he looks like that" I internally groaned.
"I say you go get him" She grinned at me.
"Not yet" I mischievously smiled swimming back towards the group.
"It's so cold" I stated getting out the pool and grabbing my beach towel. Wrapping it around me.
"Aww come here" Owen said opening his arms widely.
I simpered making my way over to him and laying down in his embrace.
His arms immediately wrapping themselves around my soaked body. His bare chest coming into contact with my partially covered one.
"You guys are too cute" Tori teased.
"Not cuter than us though right?" Carolynn joked hugging Tori.
"No. Never" She responded making us all laugh.
"I'd like to propose a toast" Kenny spoke holding up his drink.
"To friends"
"To family" Charlie followed.
"To love" Owen said making heart skip a beat as he lifted his drink in the air.
"Cheers" They spoke in unison lifting their drinks to their lips. Owens beautiful green eyes never leaving mine.
"I love you"
"I love you too Owen" I whispered placing a chaste kiss to his lips.
"Why don't we head back to the hotel for some real fun?" He suggested quietly making sure no one heard.
His hand running up and down my arm soothingly.
"Hmm is that your attempt to get me into bed?"
"Why? Is it working?" He asked making me smirk.
"So we're doing dinner tomorrow night right guys?" I asked sitting up straddling the boy beneath me. Rejoining the conversation our friends were having.
"Yeah. Kenny was telling us about this great place his friend recommended" Jeremy explained as I shifted a bit to get comfortable.
A pair of hands landing on hips.
"Oh really? Tell me more about his place Kenny" I said moving again hearing a small groan escape Owens lips as our thin clothed fronts rubbed against each others.
A wicked smirk forming on my face as we listened in on Kennys description of the place.
"It sounds fantastic. Doesn't it sound fantastic Owen?" I questioned my boyfriend shuffling again.
"Yeah. Yup sounds great. Listen it getting late guys. I think we're gonna head back to the hotel" He voiced sitting up as well.
"It's only 6:30 dude"
"Yeah but we just wanna have time to shower and get dinner. You know together. As a couple"
"Right.....well have fun you two" Kenny said awkwardly as I stood up along with Owen.
"Oh I'm pretty sure they will" Charlie joked causing me to snicker at the boy.
I quickly collected the remaining of my pool things saying my fair well goodbyes to our friends. Or tried.
Owen was clearly in a rush to get to the hotel.
"Don't leave me" Tori said hugging me one more time before we left.
"Sorry to break it to you but she's gotta go" Owen said removing the girls arms from my body and pulling me away.
"Bye!!" I waved to the group who were all cackling at Owens behavior.
"You didn't have to be so pushy" I muttered as we walked into the hotel lobby.
"Pushy? Please you knew what you were doing" He whisper yelled dragging me along the hallways towards the elevator.
"And what was I doing?" I asked stepping in immediately feeling my back pressed against the cold wall.
"You tell me" He whispered inching his face towards mine. I watched as he pushed the button to our floor before looking back at me.
I took initiative crashing our lips together. Feeling his hand land firmly on my waist as the elevator came to a halt signifying we were on our floor.
"Come on" I spoke rather harshly dragging him towards our room.
"Who's being pushy now?"
"Owen I swear to god if you say another word I will lock you outside and make myself cum got it?"
"Yes mam" He said taking my bag while I unlocked the door with my key card.
Immediately upon opening the door I felt the back of my bikini come undone the top falling to the ground.
Turning around I saw the childlike smirk on my boyfriends face as he shut the door behind us. Making sure to lock it.
I smirked back with the same look on my face. Biting my lip in anticipation as Owen moved forward wrapping his arms around my body.
"Your so-" I didn't let him finish as I crashed my lips onto his wanting to feel him closer.
He was quick to respond deepening the kiss as he back me up onto the queen sized bed in the middle of the suite.
"I can't even get a word out geez" He joked pulling away.
"I'm sorry baby what were you gonna say?" I teased as his body hovered over mine. My body prepped up on my elbows to get a better view of his face.
"I was gonna say your so needy"
"I'm the needy one? Really?"
"Well it's obviously not me"
"Care to test that theory?" I suggested watching his face scrunch up in confusion.
I pecked his lips one more time before using all my strength to flip us over so he was on his back. I moved my body over his so I was straddling him now. A grin appearing on my face.
"I'm gonna make you feel so good right now. I just need you to do what I say. Got it?" I whispered watching him nod his head rapidly, clearly intrigued at my proposal.
I leaned down kissing him passionately his hands finding my waist with ease. Slowly grinding down onto him earning a moan from the blonde. I bit his lip as we roughly fought for dominance.
Owen letting me win as soon as I began to palm him through his swim trunks.  I pulled away moving down slowly until I was in front of him on my knees.
"Oh fuck baby. You look so fucking beautiful" He bit his lip taking a hold of my hair.
"No. You can't touch me. That's the only rule" I stated pushing his hand away.
"I can't? Why not?"
"Because I said so. Now are you gonna let me handle your little problem here or not?" I teased him, rubbing my hand against the fabric of his shorts.
"Fuck okay baby. Just- just do something" He pleaded. I smirked knowing I had it in the bag now.
"Take them off" I demanded. Sitting back as he removed his shorts along with his boxers letting his dick spring free.
I took the shaft pumping it a few times. Teasing the tip, even swirling my tongue around it earning a loud groan from Owen himself.
I slowly started pumping his length before placing my mouth on it. Beginning to bob my head up and down, feeling Owen thrust his body upward in attempt to get more of himself inside my mouth. His fist balling up and clenching the bedsheets tightly.
I hummed in response as moans escaped the boys mouth while I sucked him off. Eyeing him closely through my eyelashes seeing his head tilted back and his eyes were screwed shut made me even more excited for what was coming.
"I'm so close y/n" As soon as he said that I pulled away from him with a pop watching as his eyes shot open.
"W-what the hell?" He asked clearly confused.
"I'm just tired. Think it's time for bed no?" I questioned going to pick up my bikini top.
"No- No what the fuck babe" He spoke from behind me.
"Well I just th-" My words were cut off by a yelp as I was tossed back onto the bed.
"We're not done here" He spoke lunging on top of me quickly pressing his lips onto mine.
I sighed contently wrapping my arms around his neck to pull him closer as we made out.
"Who's the needy one now?" I whispered pulling away earning a scowl from him as he undid the strings of my bikini bottoms.
I shivered as I felt his tip align itself at my entrance. He didn't hesitate to push himself into me immediately filling me up. Something he'd never failed to do before.
I moaned as he began to move at a rather hasty pace. Not that I was complaining.
I pulled him back down making our lips meet once more while the noise of our bodies colliding echoed through the room.
"Faster" I mumbled into his mouth.
A familiar feeling pulling at the pit of my stomach. My orgasm becoming very close as Owen picked up speed. My legs wrapped around him as we struggled to stay in place.
"Owen" I moaned out as I came all over him. His orgasm hitting seconds later.
"Shit" He panted as he pulled out of me. Our liquids spilling out onto the comforter.
"Your calling for new sheets" I stated trying to regain my breath.
"That was so worth it baby" He spoke pecking my lips before getting off of me to go to the bathroom.
I smiled as he walked out with a towel, coming over to clean me up.
"I love Hawaii" He said making me giggle.
"Do you now? I wonder why?" I joked sitting up. Coming face to face with my boyfriend.
"But I love you more"
"Say more things like that and we'll be in bed the whole week" I spoke wrapping my arms around his neck. Giggling as he pushed me back onto the bed once more.

It's Not Up To You
I never once had any peace or rest. There was a persistent threat that resources and places would vanish without a trace. Even though I never got my ass handed to me daily, I could never anticipate when I would be able to catch my breath.
I had to adapt. I had to be able to alter my expectations faster than the circumstances would change. It forced me to abandon having a set image of what I want in my mind. It took away my ability to visualize. I had to anticipate resources disappearing in the future, so I had a hard time with long-term planning.
Going into the week, I had it all figured out. I had found an iron-clad way for me to have my cake and eat it too. It may not have been ideal, but at least I still had the resources available.
My mother planned to drive me to my piano concert. Because she had a stressful day at work yesterday, she went to the bar. She neither came home nor returned any of my calls, so I assumed she was either crazy hungover or still passed out. I now had to hitch a ride with Jackie and her sister, Henrietta.
Henrietta drove like she had lead feet. “Uh, Ettie,” Jackie asked, “you just blew through a traffic light at”
“Don’t tell me how fast I’m going; I need to know where I am!” she snapped.
“Can we at least stop and get lunch?” I asked. I last ate at 7:00 AM. Bad things happen when I try to function on an empty stomach. My temper gets worse. My impulse control goes to Hell. I bounce off the walls.
“Hell, no!” Henrietta snarled, “If we stop to eat, we’ll get stuck in a traffic snarl!”
“OK, what’s your problem?” I whined. I had no idea why Henrietta got so upset.
Henrietta sighed angrily. “Do you wanna know why I’m so fucking pissed off?" she barked, "Those fuckers moved up my fucking interview by a fucking week. I was supposed to get married today! All that money I spent on the venue, the photographer, the catering; that’s money I’m never going to see again!”
I don’t know how Henrietta could say that without bursting into tears. “And what about Jasper? He’s going to think I broke off the wedding because I don’t have feelings for him anymore. I’m worried. He doesn’t handle rejection well. What if he tries to kill himself again?”
What happened next felt like being in the desert and coming upon an oasis, only to discover it’s a mirage. When we arrived at our destination, everything went up in smoke. Before we left, Henrietta told me that she would drop us off first, then head to the interview. She looked at us and said, “Nobody's leaving until I finish my interview. Understand?”
I nodded. Inside, I wanted to smack her. Hard.
Today has been nothing but hurry up and wait, hurry up and wait, hurry up and wait. I fucking hate being jerked around like this. The constant stop-and-start made me feel like someone drained of my life force. I can’t deal with it anymore.
Jackie and I came up with a plan. The plan was simple, like Henrietta’s would-be husband, Jasper. Unlike Jasper, the plan stood a chance of working. When they let her in to do the interview, Jackie and I would duck out and go to my piano concert. We’d come back when I finished my set, and that’d be that.
Problem. We made a huge tactical error.
It’s a long story. At the beginning of the school year, the cheerleaders thought it would be funny to nominate Anna Rose, the head of the chess club, for prom queen as a joke. Anna didn’t know about this, but the principal did. On Halloween night, we got something really scary in our inboxes: an official email with the school's letterhead saying that due to “bullying", prom would be permanently cancelled until measurable snowfall in July. A lot of the anxieties that kids channel into what they’re going to do at their prom got redirected elsewhere.
The kids at school got offended. By everything. Like, a lot.
Remember how I said that school has been so hard for me because I have no idea what to expect? Well, this piano concert thing was a perfect example. I had to make a list of not just one song, but for possible songs that I could play at this concert. I need to be ready to switch out songs in case the band teacher changed his mind. He always did stuff like that. One day, you could pick whatever song you wanted for school concerts, and the next, they would say that it had to come from a pre-approved list. So that meant I had no idea what song I was going to play. When people asked me, the best I could say was, "I’ve got a lineup." Lineup was not a good choice of words; a better choice of words would have been revolving door .
This brings us to our mistake: the same reason that I had to keep a revolving door of songs in my mind for the concert was also the same reason why we should have called the hotel where the concert was to be held ahead of time to double-check to see if the school had not cancelled it. We did not do that.
That brings us to right now. We are smack dab in the middle of what appears to be a campus recruitment event. Everyone in the room except for us is wearing cheap suits that fit somebody else, nobody looks familiar, and the atmosphere consists of a general air of anxiety and lack of preparedness.
Five minutes after we arrived, a woman wearing a pantsuit that made her look like a pool table, pineapple earrings, and a name tag that read “Megan Mulroney“ approached us. “Excuse me, ladies," she said, “are you students at The Fletcher School?”
“No, we go to Arthur Vandelay high school," Jackie said, “I’m here with Margaret because she’s got a piano concert to go to.”
I stood up and looked at Megan. “So is that in the Gold room, because I got a copy of the flyer here and it says Hall B, and I don’t know where that is, and…”
Megan cut us off. “I don't know what you’re talking about,” she said.
I handed Megan the flyer. “I’m talking about this.”
She didn’t look at the flyer. She gave it right back to me. “I don’t know what you’re trying to pull here, but that’s a piece of blank paper."
“It’s not blank!” I chirped.
“Yes, it is; and I don’t appreciate you wasting my time like this.“
“We’re not wasting your time.”
“Well then, why am I dealing with two overdressed high school idiots when I have new grads to check in for a networking event?” she said, doing her best impression of a bratty 12-year-old.
“Why are you so stubborn?”
Megan shrugged at us and rolled her eyes in a cocky fashion. “I'm not stubborn all the time. I'm only stubborn when I’m right.”
Big red flag. If someone says I'm only stubborn when I'm right , it means they're putting up a front, either because they don't want to but they're wrong or they're trying to bullshit you.
She continued to puff herself out. “Listen, you’re not special. What happens to you happens to other people, too.”
“Not helpful,” I said as I rolled my eyes.
She shrugged her shoulders. “Well, sorry you feel that way.”
“What does that even mean?” I blurted.
She ignored us. Rather than explain what was going on, she instead attempted to have phone sex with Idris Elba and got the wrong number.
It didn’t stop there. One look out the window told me we’d have to get someone else to pick us up, as Henrietta got arrested. I’m guessing she found out that the job she applied for was posted as an April Fool’s Day joke and she either trashed the office or beat the crap out of the hiring manager. Based on the black eye, I think it was the second thing.
Terrific. Now we have no plan, no ride home, and no idea what the fuck is supposed to happen next.
I’m devastated. I feel gutted. But beyond that, I'm spooked.
This isn't something you'd consider typically scary. It felt like that last photo taken before a disaster. This looming sense that something catastrophic is coming down the pike continues to hang over me.

Hi. So I just watched the new In The Heights movie. I'm not going to spoil. Just talk general shit. But first, a background of me. I listened to the soundtrack of the In The Heights musical around 2 years ago while I was stressing on finals my 1st year of college. It is one of the best musical I've ever listened to. And the only one that had made me cry so hard because that impact of feelings comes out of nowhere.
So fast forward a couple months from today and I hear that an In The Heights movie is being made. Another thing about me, I'm not a huge movie gal. But I was ready to go see this movie the minute I saw Anthony Ramos in it. Then I saw Lin and I laughed so hard because it was just so funny to me that they were just collecting Hamilton cast members.
Now to today, I walked into the theater knowing I would like the movie. I came out in tears and a need to rewatch it. Immediately after watching it. The only reason I didn't is because my friend's dad drove me and he was tired. Guys it's SO GOOD! I knew the whole plot and they made little changes that just made it better and almost changed the entire plot yet didn't and it was PERFECT!
For anyone who had never listened to the musical, please go in blind. Everything will hit you so much harder than people who knew what was coming. Though knowing the musical and seeing the little changes to the story is just as good.
But no matter where you stand, this movie os more than just a musical adaption. This is a movie of empowerment. A story of dreams and hope. A story of a community who understand each other well. A story of family. A story of struggles and failures. A story that needs to be watched.

I just finished rewatching Season 2 episode 14 of Animaniacs, the Christmas special. And while watching Little Drummer Warners, I realized how well behaved they were. Like I know it was a special episode/segment with it being the birth of Jesus and all but like the Warners are very much always chaotic, no matter the occasion so it was kinda weird.
Tumblr media
When they see the couple and the new born, they aren't there usually "Hello Nurse" way with them. And Mary and Joseph (? Don't come for me if it's wrong, I don't remember the dude's name) are very handsome/pretty in this segment.
Tumblr media
Then when the 3 kings bring their gifts, while the Warners are impressed and excited to see the gifts, they don't dare touch them for they know it's not for them.
There's nothing really special about this scene (though the song be slamming) but I wanted to share it bc it's nice to see the Warners being on their best behavior by choice and not force.
Also this segment is one the best so.... Yea

Do you ever have this moment where you think you've read a fandom dry in fanfiction but then you find a tag you never tried before and a whole new door is opened?
On one hand, you're hyped bc it's new content, that's always a blessing. On the other hand, my sleep schedule must once again suffer due to my late night reading being reignited.

With the new JSHK chapter (80 for reference) I just want to talk about how proud I am of Nene. Like in the beginning, Nene was very much the naive girl that fell in love too hard too fast and didn't think plans through all the way. And in this whole chapter we see our girl make connections, have a general plan for what she wants to do when she gets out, and be able to use her fish curse to her own advantage.
Tumblr media
Like I was screaming at this scene. Look at her! GUYS OUR LITTLE GIRL IS MATURING!

The Lady has a Baby
Hey guys!!
I know it’s been a super long time, but I thought it would be cool if I told you guys my labor and delivery story and do an update on how our little man is doing.
TW: Below the cut contains somewhat graphic descriptions of labor and delivery of a baby. If that bothers you, PLEASE skip this blog entry.
Well, at 40 weeks, I was DONE being pregnant. I’d been done for a month it felt like!
Tumblr media
That’s my belly at 40 weeks exactly!
So we waited baby out until Saturday 2/6, and under the advice of my midwife, I showed up at the hospital and complained that I hadn’t felt the baby move in a while. (Totally false, but no one else needed to know that)
Once we got checked in and into a room, they decided to kick start my labor by giving me this medicine on what (seriously) looked like a shoelace with snot on it. It’s placed near the cervix and makes it dilate, because when I went in and they checked me, I was 1 1/2 cm dilated.
So after a few hours of this, the medicine is somewhat doing its job and the decided to put a balloon inside me to force my cervix to dilate. I’m REASONABLY sure I had my epidural at that point because the PAIN!!! Good GOD the pain!!! Nothing in this life prepared me for labor pain, in spite of all the warnings I received before hand....nothing I’ve ever been through was as bad as labor pains!
Meanwhile, I’m trying to get some sleep and the fetal heart monitor keeps beeping, because it couldn’t sense baby’s heart beat. Nothing was wrong, the little booger just kept moving away from it, so the nurse was CONSTANTLY in the room, adjusting the monitor and drowning my belly in ultrasound goo. Made for a restful night’s sleep....NOT! 😜
So, the day goes on and I’m slowly making progress. The nurse and my midwife had my legs up on a peanut ball, which is exactly what it sounds like, a ball shaped like a peanut between my legs which would also help my cervix dilate.
At around 2:00 on 2/7, the nurse and my midwife were checking me and their eyes were glued to baby’s heart monitor. I really didn’t know what was going on, but the next thing I knew, 6 people flooded into our room. They were shouting different things at each other (that I really didn’t understand) and then they slapped the oxygen mask on me and told me to take slow, deep breaths.
M’Lord was sitting about at shoulder level and he asked if I was okay. I shook my head no. Things calmed down for about 4 seconds when I heard, loud and clear, “we’re operating NOW.” There was no time to ask questions or for anyone to explain to me what was going on. It seemed like within a minute, the bed was laid back and I was being rushed to the operating room, leaving M’Lord in the dust.
Once I was taken to the operating room and the partition between me and my belly was up, a nurse came and asked me “are you okay?” I was shaking and crying in fear and looking around for my husband.
“Where’s my husband?” I asked her. I NEEDED my person in that moment!
“They’re getting him ready to come in here,” she told me “the baby’s heart rate dropped and they were able to bring it back up. They THINK it’s going to drop again and we don’t want that to happen, so we’re going to go ahead and get the baby out.”
All I could do was nod; I really didn’t have a choice but I was also worried about my baby. A million thoughts ran through my head while they kicked up my epidural and got me ready for surgery. I learned later that M’Lord was busy getting into his surgery wear and texting our family and friends letting them know what was going on and that he’d update as soon as he could. Once he arrived into the operating room, he assured me that everything would be okay and wiped my tears away.
A period of time passed (I’m not really sure how long) the doctors pushed on my stomach and said “okay, lots of pressure!” and that’s exactly what I felt! A few seconds later, I heard my baby cry and never felt so relieved in all my life! My husband was taking pictures rapid fire and then we heard the doctors and nurses say “congratulations, it’s a healthy BOY!”
My husband and I looked at each other and rolled our eyes. “Okay, haha, very funny!” we both said.
The doctors and nurses asked “Did you guys know what you were having?”
I said “Yes, we’re having a GIRL!”
One of the doctors said “This is a boy, Dad, come look!”
My husband looked over the partition again and sat back down, his face was WHITE.
“Yep, that’s a boy!” He exclaimed.
The shock didn’t wear off for a week.
M’Lord had a choice, go with the baby or stay with me. “Go with him.” I told him and he stayed with our son while the doctors and nurses sewed me back up. The doctors and nurses were talking while they worked and someone eventually asked “where’s Dad?”
Someone responded with “anxiously waiting for her.”
M’Lord told me later that was the longest 30 minutes of his life.
They took me into recovery and I finally got to hold my newborn son!
Tumblr media
It was extremely important to me for us to do skin to skin contact and since I was shaking, they let me lay back and placed him on my chest so we could snuggle.
How I felt in that moment was indescribable. I felt everything from shock, wonder, and happiness to “oh my god, this is a BOY”. M’Lord spent some time with us and then left the recovery room to go let everyone know that baby and I were okay....and also that it’s a boy.
Not ONE SINGLE PERSON believed him. They ALL thought he was kidding and insisted on speaking to me. He explained there was no service in the recovery room (true) and I was in no shape to hold a phone. My Dad threatened to come through the phone and punch him if he was kidding....but he wasn’t!
While we were thrown for a loop by the gender, we weren’t at a loss for a name. We had a boy name and a girl name picked out before we went to our gender reveal sonogram, so we both said “I guess this is Damian!”
Damian comes from Batman; he is Bruce Wayne’s son with Talia al Ghul. Alexander is from Alexander Skarsgard (because of course).
The day after my delivery, my midwife and I got to talk about the delivery. The reason his blood pressure dropped so suddenly was because his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck and arm. Babies don’t tolerate that very well; so in order to protect him from getting hurt, they went ahead and did the emergency c-section.
We stayed in the hospital for a total of 4 days to keep an eye on me and Little Man.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was after 4 days of no sleep for me and M’Lord and we were beyond happy to go home!
It’s been 2 weeks now and while we’re still figuring some things out; we are completely in love with our Little Man!!
My sister was here for his first (official) week home (my husband’s week was spent in the hospital with me) and she helped me put some weight on this little boy AND get him on a schedule, which has made a HUGE difference in all of us getting some sleep.
My mother-in-law is here this week to help me out, my mom will be here the following week and then my MIL is coming back. It takes a village to raise kids and I couldn’t be more greatful for the help we’ve been getting.
So guys, that’s it!!! That’s my labor and delivery story! I hope you guys enjoyed this post! I’m planning on telling a story from one night in the hospital called “The Night from Hell” if you guys are interested.
As always, hope everyone is doing well and I’ll catch you guys for the next update!! Thank you once again for all the love and sweet messages, it means SO MUCH to me and M’Lord! 💖

Survey #424
“got no superspeed, but i’m running this town”
What is the first line in the song you are currently listening to/last listened to? "I’m running out of time; I hope that I can save you somehow.” Are you an easy lay? Not in the slightest. What was the last reason you cried? Life and how inexplicably I'm failing at it. What’s hurting you right now? More like what isn't. Do you remember important dates? Only some. I'm awful with numbers. Do you own anything with the Playboy Bunny on it? No. Do you own a bean bag chair? No. Have you ever played Gamecube? At a friend's house. Have you ever played with toy cars before? Yeah, with my nephew. He LOVES monster trucks. Have you ever touched a caterpillar? Oh, definitely. I loved picking them up as a kid. What is your favorite kind of salad? Just plain 'ole iceberg lettuce with ranch, really. Are you any good at Ping-Pong? Holy hell no, I SUCK. What was/is your high school mascot? A firebird. Can you make cute little animals by folding paper? God no, I'm awful at origami. Like, I have zero concept of how to do it. What kind of music do you like? Various types of metal and rock. Do you like apple juice? Yeah. Do you like to draw? It's funny, like I do love it, but I barely ever do it because I get frustrated when I can't get what's in my head onto paper. What do you put on your french fries? Generally ketchup. How many people can comfortably sleep in your bed? Two. Do you want to have a big family in the future? I don't want kids, just pets. Probably a lot of pets. Is Vegas one of your must-see places? No. Pet rat: yay or nay? I've had multiple pet rats and I adore them. I've come to find I'm not the best at keeping rodents because changing the bedding so much sucks ass, but nevertheless they are fantastic pets for people who don't mind the maintenance. Would you call yourself a writer? Written any stories lately? Yes. I haven't written in a while, though. I just have absolutely zero motivation to RP. Are you good at reading people's body language? I probably overanalyze it, really. Ever threatened somebody and actually went through with it? I don’t threaten people. Does holding newborn babies scare you? Extremely. I feel like they're made of thin glass. Piercings: yay or nay? I LOVE piercings. They add an interesting touch to your appearance and to me just (usually) look super cool. There are very few piercings I don't like. Do you have a collage of pictures in your bedroom? No, but I want to make a motivation board very badly. Favorite Nicholas Cage movie? Ghost Rider. Were video games better in the 1980s, 1990s, or the 2000s? Why? '80s games bore me honestly, but I love some '90s and many 2000s games. I've got to say ultimately newer games win, because of graphics increasing immersion (no, I do not whatsoever believe graphics are everything or always make a better experience), voice acting improving immensely, etc. Have you ever watched The Beverly Hillbillies? Yes! Mom loves it so I used to watch it a lot with her as a kid. I'd still watch it. Did your mother ever sing lullabies to you when you were younger? Yes. Are you ready to get out of this town? I HATE THIS TOOOWN, IT'S SO WASHED UUU-UP, AND ALL MY FRIENDS DON'T GIVE A FUUU-UUUUUCK god hell yes get me the fuck out. Do you know anybody that is pregnant right now? Quite a few. What are you listening to? "Superluv” by Shane Dawson. Have you ever gotten a speeding ticket? No. Does your father have any facial hair? Yes. Did your grandparents teach you anything? My maternal grandmother, the only one I really ever knew, taught me I'm a disappointment, pretty much. And a bitch. Do you want/have a Bachelor’s degree? It'd be nice to have one, but I don't, and I'm not pursuing it again. I've wasted enough of my parents' money. Are you into superheroes? Who’s your favourite? Not seriously, but I enjoy them well enough. I like Spider-Man. What did you have for dinner last night? Mom ordered Mexican. I had two shrimp and cheese quesadillas and rice with cheese. Do you think you look similar to your siblings? No. Have you ever played Cards Against Humanity? Did you like it? Yeah, it's fun. Do you know your best friend’s middle name? Yes. Are you close to your father? I am. Have you ever had a serious conversation with your dad? Yeah. Would you rather have long or short hair? I enjoy having short hair way more. Who did you go/plan on going with to prom? I went with Jason twice. Have you ever been to a debate and speech tournament? Hell no, and I never would. Arguing makes me cry lmao. Are you someone who enjoys stand-up comedy? Yep. What’s one thing that scares you about living alone and being independent? A lot of things do, but one thing in specific that I fear is that I let the house become cluttered and messy. I'm so shit at cleaning, especially when I'm depressed. It's why my own bedroom isn't even fully decorated, and we've lived here since I wanna say last November. If someone offered you an all-expenses paid trip to one European country, where would you go and why? Germany, 'cuz I enjoy the culture and would love to try some foods and visit places. Have you ever won anything on the lottery? No. Are you interested in the World Cup? I couldn't possibly care less. What’s the longest time you’ve ever been on a plane for? Idk. Do you let your hair dry naturally or do you towel-dry it or blow dry it? I use a towel to dry it some, then let it really get the job done naturally. How many of the Harry Potter books have you read? None. Who last gave you their number? When I posted on Facebook about going on a mental health hiatus, my good friend Alon messaged me her number if I ever needed to talk. I was really thankful. Are you often the last one to understand a joke? Honestly yeah. I'm slow to grasp a lot of things. Your first black eye: Did you give it or get it? Never gotten or given one. Have you ever slept in a tent, indoors or out? Yes to both. Are you mad right now? I'm annoyed, but not mad. Are you allergic to nuts or dairy products? No. Has anyone ever called the cops on you? No. Do you ever actually drink milk alone? Yeah, I love milk. Do you have a sensitive gag reflex? It is EXTREMELY sensitive. What was the last situation to upset you? I'd rather not talk about it. Have you ever had an online argument? I have been heavily active on the Internet since I was like, 11. Maybe younger. I have been in plenty. Are you at risk for any medical issues? A lot of heart problems run in my family. I'm also suspicious I may develop diabetes, which also runs very heavily in my family. What were you doing at 7:00 a.m.? Surprisingly, I was asleep. Do you own a robe? No. What would you consider your life to be? A wreck. What is your favorite mark of punctuation? I like question marks. Who knows your biggest secret? Nobody. Do you think anyone has feelings for you? Probably not. How do you know? I just doubt it. I'm so unlikable right now. Could you go a day without eating? I don't think I could. I do not react to stomach pain well, and that includes when I'm hungry. How many bracelets do you have on your wrists right now? None. What’s your favorite drink? Strawberry Sunkist, but I don't allow myself to have it. I will DESTROY a can or five of it. Who was the last person that texted you? My mom. What are you craving? Nothing really right now. What was the first thing you ate today? An everything bagel. What was the last type of meat you ate? Pork. Have you taken any medication today? Yeah, I take some prescription meds in the morning and at night. Have you ever been to Hawaii? No, but that'd be cool. Do you know anyone who has diabetes? My mom, for one. Have you ever made a boy cry? Sadly. Who are you talking to? Nobody. Do you think you’ve ruined your chances with someone? Absolutely. Your parents split; would you want to live with your mom or dad? My parents are divorced, and I stayed with Mom. Would you strongly prefer to go out with someone of your own skin color/racial background? I couldn't care less. For you personally, is abortion an option in case of an accidental pregnancy? For others, absolutely. It's your right. For me myself, it's possible, idk. If I was God forbid raped, I probably would have an abortion. If I accidentally got pregnant in a healthy relationship, I'd probably have a "too bad, so sad" outlook where I'd suck it up and go through with the gestation because having sex and risking pregnancy was my own decision. Even if I'm pro-choice, I think I'd feel too guilty aborting, especially with the child being someone's I love. Is it a requirement that you communicate every day with your significant other (via phone, text, in person, whatever)? IF I had an s/o, no. I like to, but sometimes you just want space. Are you fetish-friendly? I'm not gonna lie, some fetishes are just too fucking weird for me. I TRY not to judge, because I doubt you can actually help fetishes, but I inevitably do sometimes. If you're asking would I engage in fetishes because my s/o liked them, possibly, but it would really depend on what it is. Have you ever cosplayed? No. I think cosplay is really cool, though. Do you support the exploration of outer space? If yes, would you consider taking a trip into space, or even to another planet? As creatures who crave knowledge and understanding of our universe, I do support space exploration, but I do NOT believe we should be spending as much money as we do on it. Taking care of the planet we're actually on is far more important imo. I wouldn't personally go to outer space. Is it okay for men to wear makeup? What’s your opinion of male crossdressers? It's totally okay! Guys with makeup can be super attractive. Crossdressers, too. Go for it. You’re in a new relationship and your partner admits that they have had 14 sexual partners. Does that sound like a lot to you? For me personally, yes. I don't even know if I'd date someone with 14 past sexual partners, honestly. I would admittedly question their loyalty. Would you let your children under 13 watch movies with full nudity? No. If someone asked you, “What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done?” would you know the answer right away? I would. What is your opinion concerning strip clubs? Not my scene at all, but so long as you respect the dancers, whatever. You do you.

Ep 201: The Disappearance of Frederick Valentich Part 3
“I am prepared to swear on oath or submit myself to any lie detector test to substantiate this, my statement.”
– Don Cox, who observed a triangle-shaped UFO for 45 minutes from his yard in Adelaide, 385 miles northwest of Valentich’s last known location, just 28 minutes after his radio fell silent.
Description:
As we wrap up our coverage of the Frederick Valentich story in Part 3 of our series, we'll continue our conversation with Melbourne resident Chris Tyler about his research into the case and other possibly related UFO incidents around the same time and area. We'll also examine the Australian Department of Transport accident report's remaining findings and discuss its conclusions. As you begin to reach your own conclusions, it's essential to keep several factors in mind which make the usual mundane explanations seem inadequate. The high number of independent sightings of aerial phenomena occurring in proximity to the disappearance suggests Valentich wasn't alone in witnessing it. The distance a Cessna cowling was found from a potential crash site and the lack of definitive markings makes its discovery inconclusive. Even if the cowling did come from Valentich's plane, it still doesn't account for what caused him to ditch, let alone other missing debris and Valentich himself. Perhaps the most surprising revelation comes from the summary of the report itself. Rather than dismissing the possibility of a UFO entanglement, an official government statement lists it as one of four likeliest scenarios. Remember that Valentich himself never suggested he interacted with a UFO in his last transmission, despite being painted as obsessed with them by his skeptics. When these factors and more are taken together, it's no wonder this incident is one of the most baffling and tragic in the phenomenon's history and leaves us all to wonder, what happened to Frederick Valentich and where did he go?
Location:
Moorabbin Airport, where Frederick Valentich took off from on October 21, 1978, headed for King Island across Bass Strait.

Silent Britain
Series - Prologue
Pairing: Tom Holland x Reader
Summary: You and Tom are working as love interests in a new Scorsese film, essentially leading to be love interests in real life
A/N: Sorry, it’s been a hot minute since I've posted! Anyway, this is basically going to be a whole series. I have no idea how many parts it’ll be, and I’ll be updating at least every two weeks (but I’ll aim to update it weekly!) I thought it was kind of a fun idea so essentially in the film Tom plays a bad-boy mob members son, while the reader plays the opposing mob members daughter. Please enjoy! (This chapter is a bit of a slow-burn, but it’s essentially just setting up the plot and everything!)
Also, all the italics in this story are the readers thoughts!
Word Count: 1,500

Prologue
The uncomfortably loud alarm buzzed through your tired mind. A glance to your left told you it was 7:00 am. Time to get up. One arm reached out to turn your alarm off, while the other went to wipe your eyes as they opened sluggishly, adjusting to the illumination in your bedroom that crept through the blinds. Wasting no time, you moved your body from your large bed and stumbled your way to the kitchen. The house was quiet, no music playing, no TV’s on, signalling to you that your roommate/best friend, Evie, hadn’t woken up yet.
The thick script left on the dining table caught your attention. It was for an upcoming, untitled Nolan film. You’d been asked to read the script to audition, however you only made it about half-way through it last night. Looks like thats on today’s agenda.
Acting was your absolute passion. You’d been lucky enough to start your acting career about 4 years ago, acting in 2-3 bigger films, every-so-often working alongside a well known celebrity. Working alongside Robert Pattinson in dramatic indie film was pretty cool, considering you’d grown up around all the Twilight hype. Playing Brad Pitt’s daughter in another film was also a big moment in your career. Not to mention your recent role in the Emmy award winning show Big Little Lies really helping define who you were as an actress. Ever since then you’d been asked to audition for quite a few more roles. Shockingly, it actually took a bit of a turn on you. People recognised you more often, which meant it was harder to leave the house. It also meant you started comparing yourself to other actors your age, to which you never thought you’d live up too. Being rich and famous really wasn’t all it was cut out to be.
While mindlessly making breakfast, your phone began buzzing on the hard, marble bench top. It was your agent, Melissa.
“Hey, Mel.” You quickly answered,
“Morning, (Y/N), how’re you doing?” Her thick American accent sung through the phone. Melissa was from California. You weren’t, you were born and bred in England, and you’d continued living just outside of London throughout your career. It was just much easier having an agent closer to the action of Hollywood.
“Good, I’m a little tired, it’s like seven AM over here.” You responded,
“Well it’s 11 at night over here, but I’ve just received some fantastic news and I couldn’t wait to tell you.”
“You’ve got my attention.” You chuckled slightly, leaning down to rest on the kitchen bench, ready to intently listen to whatever Melissa had to say.
“You remember that Scorsese film you auditioned for a while back, Silent Britain?”
Oh my god. “Yea, of course I remember, what about it?” Your palms became clammy and your voice shook slightly.
“You’ve been offered the role! You’re playing Elizabeth Baker!”
Your head immediately fell to your hands. You were just unbelievably over-joyed, you didn’t even know what to say. This would undoubtedly be your biggest role to date. “Mel, oh my god, this is such huge news, I really didn’t think I’d get it. This is so, so, so incredible.” You stood and began pacing the kitchen.
“It gets even better, guess who else is already signed on?”
“Who?”
“Tom Hardy is playing your father, Anthony Hopkins is playing your grandfather,” Your jaw had already hit the floor at this point, “Chrisitan Bale is also signed on, and Jude Law’s set to play one of the detectives.”
“Melissa, holy fuck.” You paused, “holy fuck. This- that’s so many actors, incredible actors-”
“And there’s plenty more to be signed on. So I’m assuming you’d like the role?”
“Of course I’d like the role!”
“I’m sending through all the paper-work and details for you to flick through, I’ll also mail over a script ASAP so you can go through the whole thing. You’ll have to fly out here in about 2 weeks for the initial meet up with Martin and the cast, so I’ll book that in now, and we can work out the rest of the details when you’re here, how’s that sound?” Melissa explained quickly,
“Yea, yea that sounds perfect, when’s filming set to start?”
“It says mid-June, which is in two months, if all the actors have been accounted for by that time.”
“Okay, I’ll get all my shit sorted out and I’ll see you in two weeks! Thanks so much Mel.”
And with that, the two of you hung up. Leaving you alone with your thoughts. A fucking Gangster Scorsese film. It doesn’t get better than that. That’s peak-of-the-career shit right there. Everything you did the rest of that day was purely in order to be organised for your flight. You hadn’t been this excited since you landed the role of Reece Witherspoon’s daughter in Big Little Lies. After screaming in pure bliss with Evie about the news, you went to your nearest shopping centre to get any possible supplies you may need. Shampoo, conditioner, dry shampoo, toothpaste, a power board, a charging cable, new comfortable clothes, not that you really needed anymore, new nicer clothes, not that you fucking needed anymore, the list went on. Evie even came with you, as if your impulse control wasn’t already low, Evie made it plumet, suggesting you needed every second thing she laid her eyes on. You even bought a notepad with the Taxi Driver movie poster on the cover because Scorsese directed that too, and it’ll be funny incase I ever need to take notes.
You shut the boot of your car, hopping into the driver's seat next to where Evie sat comfortably in the passenger’s seat.
“So who else is in the film? Besides Venom, Hannibal Lecter, Batman, and John Watson.” Evie smirked at her own joke,
“Ha ha. Very funny.” You stated, pulling out of the car park. “That’s all I know about at the moment, here” you passed her your phone, “check my emails, I might’ve gotten an update.” Evie took the phone from your hands and held it to your face to unlock it.
“Melissa Bradd sent another email, with attached file, more details…” Evie muttered, mainly to herself as she opened the document. “Hmm, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hardy, you-” Evie gasped heavily.
“What, what is it?” You quickly interjected.
“I’m going to shit my pants, I’m gonna actually die right here, right now-”
“Evie, what the fuck!? What is it?!” You almost wanted to pull over the car.
“Timothee Chalamet is playing Joseph Baker, your brother!” She practically shrieked. Christ. Obviously you adored Timothee’s work, he was incredible and so devoted, but Evie absolutely adored him, for a long time now.
“Oh my god,” you uttered, just above a whisper. Reacting to not only Evies reaction, but also that another big name was going to be on screen beside you. “Anyone else?”
“It doesn’t even fucking matter who else is in it!” Evie sung, flailing her arms in the air.
“Evie, who else is in it!” You repeated, feeling a little on edge. Her gaze returned back to the phone screen, her excitement still clearly coursing through her veins.
“So far, Finn Wolfhard is set to play your younger brother, and Michael Fassbender and Christian bale are signed on as your uncles,” She read.
It was at this moment, your hands really started shaking. You tried gripping the wheel as tightly as you could, but it honestly felt like most of the blood in your body was vanishing, you didn’t seem to have control over much of anything, especially not your breathing. Evie looked over at you.
“Hey, (Y/N/N), you okay? You’re kind of looking a bit pale.” She spoke quietly,
“That’s a lot of big actors, Evie.” You responded, your mouth entirely dry.
“Yea, but you’re a big actor too, you know. You’ve been in some big films!” She lightly tried to reassure you.
“Eve, I’ve been a background character in like 3 big films.” You peered over to her, quickly returning your glare back to the road.
“You’re in Big Little Lies, that’s a big show.”
“I’m a daughter, I’m not a main character at all. This movie, I’m a fucking huge character in this movie. This movie practically fucking revolves around me, Tom Hardy, and Hopkins.” Your voice elevated as you spoke.
“Let’s just get home, and then we can talk it all through.” Evie said calmly, clearly not paying much mind to what you’d just said. You nodded in response. And, as if on cue, your phone chimed.
“What was it?” As you asked, Evie began scrolling through your phone.
“Another email from Melissa.”
“And?...”
“A couple more actors signed on.”
“And?...” Your head was far too close to exploding.
“Well, Rachel Weisz is playing your mum, and Daniel Craig is another uncle,” Evie was speaking softly, “Idris Elba is a detective, and- uhm- Tom Holland is your love interest…”
And there goes the explosion. “I need to pull over. I’m about to have a stroke.”

Okay, I got quite a bit of love for Nicoleta, more than I expected.
So here’s just some headcanons before I go to work
Reminder, the residents don’t know she’s a vampire
Because of that, she’s not scared of them, and isn’t even going to act like she is, which confuses the hell out of the residents.  Especially Arthur and Theo.
She helps Sebas with things around the mansion, however, she’s never had to cook, so she’s not helpful in the kitchen.
Arthur point out how he’s never seen her eat or drink anything since she got there.  Without hesitating she says she doesn’t like Sebastian’s cooking.
Obvs Sebastian, Comte and Leonardo know.  Sebas only knows because he was asking about food for her and basic needs.
He agreed to not tell anyone if she would tell him stories about her life cause she’s like 700 years old and looks 25
Arthur, total flirt as we know.  Keeps trying to get close to her.  But she’s too smart to fall for any of that.  So they make a bet.  And Arthur HATES loosing.  She says that if he can beat her at an arm wrestling match he can do what he wants with her, full consent.
Of course Arthur won’t back down.  He thinks its an automatic win for him due to vampiric strength.  Theo and Isaac assume that she’s full of herself and doesn’t realize how strong a vampire really is, but they sit and watch
Nicoleta tells him not to hold back just because she’s a woman.  He’s like “yeah, yeah, whatever, lets do this”
Theo’s the ref.  He holds their hands in place until he says go.  As soon as he let go Nicoleta slammed the back of Arthur’s hand against the table.  Theo’s like “Wtf, Arthur” and Arthur is like “I WAS TRYING I SWEAR”
Arthur demands another round.  So she agrees.  This time when Theo lets go of their hands, Arthur is pushing against her hand but her hand isn’t moving.  It doesn’t even look like she’s trying.  She goes “I thought you lesser vampires were stronger than this” and slams his hand against the table again.  He can’t even use the excuse of not being ready.  She just gets up and walks away.
A few days later Arthur and Theo see Nicoleta carrying Leonardo bridal style down the hall to his room.  He fell asleep in the hallway and she didn’t want to just leave him there.  They’re like “Humans can’t possibly be that strong” and they think about Sebastian and decide not to ever mess with him.
The three that know about her find all her “pranks” hilarious.  Meanwhile everyone else is so very confused.
One day Vincent says something about Will, and she perks up.  “Shakespeare?  As in William Shakespeare?”  She only knows English from reading his plays and sonnets.  She has a grudge against the English and wants nothing to do with them, but she had heard about him during his first life and was intrigued.  Needless to say she’s a big fan.
Also that’s the only way she can speak English.  However she does pick up a few words from Arthur and Isaac.
Everyone, Arthur and Theo, find it weird how close her and Leonardo were right away.
100%  Arthur and Theo do detective work because she confuses them.
Comte tells them he didn’t know of her before this
Sebastian says that as far as he knows, her name isn’t significant in the 21st century
Nicoleta is great with a sword alright.  Weapon of choice, even in modern day.  Who needs a gun when you can stab someone.
She challenges Napoleon and Jean to a duel every so often.  At first they hold back thinking she doesn’t know too much, doesn’t know what a real sword fight is like, but they find out quickly that she’s a master with a sword.
They ask her how she learned to use one so well, and she simply says she grew up around them and learned as she got older 700 years older
She has about 10-12 days left before the door opens and she goes “ya know what.  I’m gonna tell them”
She knows Arthur and Theo have been trying to figure her out so she sits across from them at breakfast, others are in the room too.
“How old do you think I am?”
“I don’t think it’s right to assume a woman’s age.”
“I won’t be offended.  How old do you think I am?”
“23?”  “25?”  Theo and Arthur don’t sound to certain.
Nicoleta just laughs “Try 736″
Isaac choked on his food
I think I’m gonna do a whole other post on her telling them.  Bc its gonna be funny.

This is a blog entry (that was leaked publicly) posted way back in 2007 or 2008 by someone who had a double date with Zac and Vanessa. Hopefully it’s okay to repost!
Dana is bugging me to post. I'll try my best to write down everything that happened (mostly for you Dana!) As for everyone else who knows nothing about Zac and Vanessa you can enjoy reading my visit. Where do I start?
Jason has mentioned on and off about an old friend that called him. Zac was the name but I never knew it was "the" Zac! Jason has told me that I've seen him before and I'd just ignore the remake because I thought he was teasing me. Later, to find out I have seen him before-- in a movie called "High School Musical." I was able to talk to Jason's mom and she confirmed they use to live around the corner from Zac's family. While talking to my parents about wedding plans, I told them about Jason's old friend. They had never heard of Zac Efron or any of his movies. My little brother on the other hand knew who they were--- the teen "it" couple of Hollywood. Though, he didn't seem interested either. Then I was talking to Dana and she exploded with excitement and told me everything there was about Zac and even more about his girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens.
I was at work when Jason gave me a call and left me a quick message about meeting up at a friend's house for dinner at 7:00. I left work and drove home around 6:00. Right when I got home I saw Jas in the parking lot with a cake and tons of snacks in his hands. We got into his car and drove off. I asked him if we were going to Kel's house. He told me no we're going to Zac's. I laughed and said yeah right! With a smile on his face he told me to wait and see when we get there. My face went blank, I was going to meet a movie star and I was still in my professional work clothes. I demanded that we go back to the house and change. Jas was stubborn and didn't want to turn back around. I was pretty upset at him.
We arrived at an apartment complex that looked more like mini houses or condos. I told Jas I was nervous meeting people I don't know. He told me not to be, Zac was an old friend. They wouldn't want that. I asked him what he meant by they? Vanessa and Zac is what Jas said. He held my hand and we walked toward Zac's place.
Zac opened the door, said "Hey man! how are you?" and gave Jas a big hug. I stood there with a nervous smile. Jas introduced me and I said hi while giving Zac a hug. We walked into his place and I could see Vanessa in the kitchen. She stood there while giving us a nervous smile and wave. Zac introduced everyone. Vanessa seemed really shy and was surprised when I gave her a hug.
Jas asked Zac about a video game and not before long I saw them playing in the living room like kids. I sat there at the dining room table and didn't know what to do. Vanessa talking through the kitchen tried to make conversation with me by asking me if I liked chicken and rice? and I said yes, I love it. She smiled and told me good because that's what we were having for dinner. Jas had put the food that we bought
on the table and I ask Vanessa if I could put the cake and drinks in the fridge. She told me yeah and helped me unload everything. I'll have to admit in a non-gayish way---she is drop-dead gorgeous! A really petty girl. I didn't know anything about her other than the things Dana had told me. I remembered Dana saying something about her album--- to make conversation I lied and told Vanessa that I loved her album even though I've never even heard of it. She smiled and told me "thanks, which song did you like the most?" Quickly, I scrambled with another lie saying that I really liked her first single without even knowing which one it was. She replied by saying " yeah everyone liked that one." I was relieved.
She then wanted to know how Jason and I met and I told her the long story. We talked for awhile. Questions I asked her:
How did you and Zac meet?
She said: I met Zac while making HSM. Zac knew me before by name but not in person.
How long have you been going out?
She said: For awhile. She giggled and told me I don't remember an exact date that's how long it's been. I laughed and told her I don't know the exact day Jas and I started going out either.
I told her I really liked her place. She told me thanks and added that Zac was thinking about moving. I asked her why? she replied by saying that Zac wanted a bigger place. I teased her and said why are you pregnant? and she laughed and said "no! Zac wishes!" I laughed. It was even more funny when I heard Jas yelling from the living room--- Carliy your pregnant? I yelled back no, but Vanessa is! We could hear Zac asking Jason what we were saying and Jason said "Dude, your girl is pregnant." We heard Zac yell "what" That was really funny. Vanessa and I had a good laugh in the kitchen.
A couple of minutes later, we both walked into the living room to tell the guys to come and eat. Both of them acted like they didn't even hear us. They were concentrating on the video game they were playing and there was a lot of friendly cussing going on. The F word mention too many times to count. Vanessa and I stood there watching, waiting for them to finish. Zac grabbed Vanessa's waist making her sit on his lap. Not before long my honey did the same thing. Jas even showed me how to play the game. I'm a really bad player but Vanessa knew how to play it really well. She was beating me.
During dinner, Zac went and slided in a cd and then broke out singing along to K-Ci and JoJo's "All My
Life" song. Zac did a funny dance and then pointed to Vanessa and she joined in singing. They both goofed around with each other. Jas ended up joining in with his funny voice and I couldn't stop laughing. I love K-Ci and JoJo and even watched them in concert when they were really popular.
After dinner, I wanted to help Vanessa clean up. She being a good host told me no, but I insisted. While I was working on the dishes Vanessa left for a second to use the restroom. I felt an arm wrapped around my waist and I turned around and Jas wanted to tell me thank you for helping out. Isn't that cute? We stoled a couple of kisses from each other. Zac walked in asking why were doing dishes? He told us to let him do it later, but we did it anyway---then he told us to get a room. We laughed.
Jas decided to help me clean up while Zac walked out to find where Vanessa was. After we finish we went into the living room to see what was on TV. But then we were wondering what Zac and Vanessa were doing? Jas and I walked into one of the rooms and saw Zac and Vanessa cuddling and kissing each other in front of the closet. Jas yelled out, teasing them to get a room! Zac responded by telling Jas "we're already in a room!" I told Jas Aww--burn! We all laughed. I was amazed at how packed the closet was and I told Vanessa that she had a lot of clothes! Zac teased Vanessa by telling Jas and I, that we should go to Vanessa's house, she has ten thousand closets to hold the rest of her entire collection of clothes. Vanessa nudged Zac and said that it wasn't true. Jas asked Zac where his clothes were--- Zac opened the other side of his closet and he also had a lot of clothes.
We were getting ready to leave and call it a night but Zac mentioned that Jas and him hadn't played the other video game yet. Zac told us that we should just stay the night. Jas looked at me and asked me if I wanted to and I told him I didn't even bring clothes to sleep in. Vanessa told me that she'd lend me some sleeping clothes. We settled and Zac and Jas went out to play another video game. What is it with guys and video games?
Vanessa asked if I wanted to watch a movie with her in the room. I told her sure. We looked around the dvds they had and I noticed the HSM concert. I told her I wanted to watch it because I haven't seen it yet. She smiled and said "okay." While watching Vanessa mention to me that if I got bored we could read magazines or do something else. I looked over to the left of me and saw a table with a couple of magazines on the bottom and on the top of the table was a very cute picture of Zac and Vanessa together. The picture frame was engraved "I'll Love You Forever" and it was beautiful. I really wanted one for a wedding gift and asked her where they had got it. She told me that she didn't know and that Zac gave it to her for Christmas last year. She added that she got 2, the other one was at her house.
We ended up reading magazines. I saw a picture of Vanessa on one of them and told her that I loved her
dress. They had a picture of her and Zac at the after party for Hairspray. More questions I asked her:
Did the whole HSM gang go?
She said: No, not everyone just me, Ash, and Zac
This magazine says Nikki and Zac are going out together---
She laughed and said: Zac gets linked to every one of his co-stars. It's not even believable if you read the article.
Don't you get mad over the rumors?
She said: No, I try to ignore it. Zac use to get upset but he's learned to ignore it too. None of them have been true.
Her nice iphone started ringing, but she didn't pick up. I later saw her texting and she told me it was one of her friends she met while on the set of HSM2, the person was from Utah or Idaho. One of those states, I couldn't remember which. Or maybe she said that they filmed in Utah but the person was from Idaho or the other way around.
Next, she wanted to know if I liked scary movies. I told her only if I am with someone, I get scared. She said there was this good one that I had to watch with her. We put it in and I was under the covers the whole time. The guys joined us in bed in the middle of the movie. We cuddle with our honeys. Then I fell asleep. I woke up next to Zac's back thinking it was Jason. I touched him and he pointed to where Jas was---he was sleeping on the ground next to the bed. The bed was not big enough for the 4 of us. I went down and cuddled with my hubby and we laid there talking quietly. Then we can heard Vanessa ask Zac if we were awake. Jas answered yes. Zac put on the TV and we were watching CNN.
Zac mentioned if we wanted food, but Jas mentioned that we should get going. We gave them hugs and said our thankyou's. Zac told Jas that it was nice seeing him again and also that I was a keeper. I smiled. Jas told Zac the same thing. Then Vanessa mentioned that she should get going too. Zac told her "I thought you said you were spending the day with me." She answered and said, " I thought you were picking me up later?" Jas and I stood there for a second waiting to see if Vanessa needed a ride home. We ended up taking her home. On the way out Zac and Vanessa hugged each other good bye. As we walked towards the door Zac grabbed Vanessa by the waist and teasing her again told her, "where the
heck is my goodbye kiss?" she giggled, give him a kiss and told him she loved him. He did the same back. Zac asked Vanessa to call him when she got home. Jas teased Zac by telling him that we weren't going to kidnap her or anything. Zac smiled and teased Jas by saying, "Dude if you do there might be a pillow on your face tomorrow." It was an inside joke between them. We all laughed.
On the way to Vanessa's house we heard her song on the radio. I knew it was her song because she yell " oh my gosh, that's my song!" I had heard it before but I didn't know she sung it. Now I know. Jas asked her about her second album and she said that it was in the making process. Jas convinced her to share one of her new songs. She sung a verse and we told her she had a great voice. Then she told us she's wasn't sure if the song was going to make it on her album. She mentioned Zac wrote some of it and she wanted to get it on the album, but at this stage she was unsure. She made Jas drop her off the next street over from her house, she wanted to walk the rest home. She didn't want us to experience paparazzi if there were any at her house. We understood and she gave us a hug and said thank you.
Overall, my thoughts about the Teen Hollywood "it" couple--- they are normal, funny, and really sweet.

Chris Miles (01:21): Alright! So today I've got a special guest here for you. Again, I get pitched guests all the time, right? And most of them, I usually say, you know, that's cool, not my thing or not. You know, that's not what my listeners want, but this one I thought was perfect. Especially given the time that we're in and with all the uncertainty of the world. I know more and more of you guys, whether you're in business or not. You're definitely looking for leverage. You want to be able to work less, make more, which is kind of what we talked about in the show anyways. And that's exactly what my guest Kristin Molenaar is all about because you know, the big thing that I see happening with a lot of people now is they burn out. They can't make it, right? They don't know how to really avoid that. They've ended up creating a business that becomes a really sometimes high paying job. Sometimes it was a crappy paying job where you're like Napoleon Dynamite saying, "That's like a dollar an hour, gosh!" You know, it's kinda like that.
Chris Miles (02:12): You know, we don't want that. So we want you guys to be able to be free and to be happy and actually love what you do. And so it allows you to let you know a little bit more about Kristen here. She's an entrepreneur enthusiasts who lives by the mantra, work less, make more, right? This has enabled her to build a six figure business while working average and just get this guys, five hours a week. So this is like a woman after my own heart here, right? Permissions to eradicate entrepreneurial stress and burnout that fuels her passion for sharing these three step blueprint. Both she and her clients have been able to put into place and achieve true freedom in business. She's also the founder of the virtual agency, YesBoss VA. Where she helps her team be able to really alleviate burnout, solopreneurs, and entrepreneurs and empower them to be able to create, you know, through this online business management and digital marketing support. She runs this business for you. So it creates this online business for you guys. So you can scale it like a boss. So Kristin, welcome to our show.
Kristin Molenaar (03:05): Thanks so much for having me, Chris, I'm excited to dive into this conversation with you.
Chris Miles (03:09): I agree. So tell us about your journey. I mean, were you at the burn-down entrepreneurial at one point yourself or?
Kristin Molenaar (03:15): I was the entrepreneur that didn't know how to make a dollar. That's my story.
Chris Miles (03:21): You got a great hobby, huh?
Kristin Molenaar (03:21): Yeah. Right. So in October, 2014, I left my last corporate job. And I was in the beauty industry at that time doing brand management. And my thought behind leaving was I can do this on my own. Like, look, I'm an incredible employee. I would make a fantastic business owner. And I proceeded to struggle, struggle, struggle, struggle for about 12 months. I ended up in what I'm doing right now as I call it was my entrepreneurial failure. Like I had been struggling for a year living in my in-laws guest bedroom with my husband and two dogs, like feeling very suffocated. And I thought, I just need to make a dollar. So I went on HireMyMom.com and said like, anybody just please pay me as long as I don't have to go back into an office. Like I just want like freedom to work where I want. Right? So what very quickly happened though, is I wasn't able to turn off those entrepreneurial ambitions. Within three weeks of getting my first client, I was tasked with a blog post. Hated blogging. Thought I could do this, sat down to write it and thought, this is, this sucks! At the time the client was only paying me $15 an hour. Like that's how desperate I was just to make a dollar. I had convinced him to hire me for $15 an hour. And I proved myself in 30 days. And he would bump me to $20 an hour! Make it a lot! So what happened is I was tasked with writing a blog and I thought, you know what? I hate this. I would rather find an intern to write this for me. I'll pay them $8 an hour, which is minimum wage in their state. I would rather make $7 an hour, not doing anything than $15 an hour doing something that I hate. I became addicted to that and everything like nothing's been the same since then.
Chris Miles (05:01): Isn't it kinda funny. We almost accidentally find something that works. And you think, why didn't I think of this before, when I was trying to find the answers, right?
Kristin Molenaar (05:09): Yeah. I was making it too complicated. That's really what it boiled down to.
Chris Miles (05:14): That's right. So what do you see with other entrepreneurs? Like what happens in their lives that you think causes this?
Kristin Molenaar (05:21): Yeah. So I see a couple things happening that causes this like stress and burnout. One. I think that a lot of people have heard of this 80-20 principle. And I've been talking about this so much lately. I think that now is like the time to look at the 80-20 principle now is the time to figure out, okay, I've seen and heard that this makes sense. How does it apply to me? The principle says that 20% of your work will yield 80% of your results. I would say that entrepreneurs are getting stuck in burnout and stress because they're functioning in every capacity. They're doing all of the things. I love the analogy. I love giving this as like a visual with drilling for oil. I think a lot of entrepreneurs, they know that when you drill for oil, you have to drill really deep in order to strike oil. Right? What they do is they drill all these different little holes like this is them going from webinars to, you know, like passive income funnels, to group trainings, to Instagram lives. Like they're doing all the things. And the problem is with that lack of focus and that lack of like staying in your lane and doing the thing persistently, they're like an inch away, probably from striking oil, but they've jumped ship too soon or they're scattering their efforts all over the place. So that's like one of the foundational things that I see as just pursuing too many things. Obviously another one is continuing to do it alone for way too long. You know, a lot of people hit the six figure mark and they're like really burned out. I think that I see this happen very often is that six figure mark becomes like a, Holy cow! I can't do any more. I've got all these things on my plate and it's like, well, why, you know, I would even say like, why didn't you think a little bit more like me when I was making that $15 an hour, you know, I'd rather do nothing and make $8 or $7 an hour, then do everything. So, you know, would you rather make a hundred dollars an hour or a hundred thousand dollars a year to be completely burned out? Or would you rather make $60,000 a year and have so much bandwidth to grow your company even bigger? I think it's just a mental shift that people need to have so that they can start putting into practice the things that are really going to catapult their growth rather than just putting money in their pocket and hoarding it.
Chris Miles (07:30): Yeah. It's funny, you mentioned that because this is a perfect time for people to really reassess and say, what do I really like doing, right? Cause I remember I went through that same process a few times. Like I always had to keep evolving through my business. And I remember happening again for me about five years ago, I went through a divorce. That was like, I was so emotionally drained, right? That I couldn't work much more than five hours a week. So that's kinda how I started working at five hours a week was, alright! What's the absolute essential part of my business and what can I delegate out? And then the next thing I know I made more money than I ever made working 50 or 60 hours a week. Right?
Kristin Molenaar (08:04): Yeah. And that's why I think, you know, I don't know when this episode is going to air, but amid like COVID, right? COVID, there's so many people that are being forced to work less. And I think that, well, a lot of people may at first think that this is a disservice to their business. I think that it actually is a huge benefit, because think about how little you're able to work during COVID and when this is over, you got all this extra time on your hands.
Chris Miles (08:29): Right! That's true. But what do you think are good ways for people to figure out how to get in that lane? Like what is actually their lane versus things they should not be doing? How do you decide that?
Kristin Molenaar (08:39): Yeah, so like, I, like you mentioned in the little intro, we have like a three step process that we put into place. Like our three step. Work less make more blueprint. The very first thing is to eliminate all non-essentials, which I kind of touched on a little bit. There are a series of questions that I really encourage people to ask if they're like, well, what is it that I should be doing? One. I think that it's really important to give yourself the space and the time to go back to what your original plans for your business work. Like I think that what happens is we get so stuck in the trenches and in the tactical stuff of our business, that all the creativity just get shut down. But as entrepreneurs, like, we need to be visionary. Like that is our role that we need to take on. So entrepreneurs are visionaries that put people and processes into place. Entrepreneurs are not people that just poured all the work and get stuck in task work all the time. That's what's going to lead to that burnout. Right? So think about what it is like, why did you get into business? What were your dreams? And I love going back to that beginning stage, because I feel like that's, when things felt so free and new and exciting, and there wasn't any of that fear or like those mental games that you're having to break through. None of that existed when you were just starting out. So I love going back to that. And then I think that you have to look at your business in two categories. So looking at like, what are you doing for marketing? And what are you doing for like your monetization or the things that you're offering? And figure out in those two things separately, figure out what things really light you up. So I say to people, for me, it's so important that my business energetically fuels me up. Because when I leave my business I go to become a, you know, I walk away and I'm a wife and I'm a mom and I have other things I'm doing. And I don't want my business to deplete me. Cause I don't want to show up to the rest of my life depleted. So in your business, what things are lighting you up? What can you do, that you're walking away from your business feeling like you're ready to take on the world. And then what, look at the data too. So what is the data that supports the efforts that you're putting into it? Because it needs to be of, you know, you need to follow your heart and there needs to be that data there. And then that's telling you like where that 20% of your effort is yielding that 80% of your results.
Chris Miles (10:52): That's right. It's kind of like the eeky guy, right. That diagram that people use all the time is, you know, what do people want you for? What do you like doing? You know, what are you good at? And combining all those elements together. Right?
Kristin Molenaar (11:03): Absolutely. Yeah. Let's build businesses that we love. Like if we wanted to do work that we didn't like we could go work for the man, I guess, control of our own journey here. Let's start doing things that light us up.
Chris Miles (11:15): Yeah. It's true. Like there's been times like I'll be, be kind of a grumpy mood at the beginning of the day. Like maybe like my wife and I getting a little spat, you know, and then it's like, Oh, you know, and you have to have that state change. Right. And maybe it's easier for men to kind of shut that part of your brain off and just go like cut it off. But I notice that sometimes if I'm actually doing the meetings, I love doing, you know, doing that kind of stuff. Like I can walk away and be in a totally better mood and be like, I love you. Like, like nothing is like, world's perfect. Like that was stupid. You know? Like it's kind of cool. Like versus like saying man, this day just sucks. Like this is the worst day ever. You know? And I think that's the difference. There is really fine. What does let you up?
Kristin Molenaar (11:54): Yeah. Yeah. It's essential in the cool thing is we're in control of all of it. We're running businesses that we don't like, it's like, well, who are we going to blame for that?
Chris Miles (12:03): Yeah. Yeah. That's true. You can't blame anybody else for your, your decision. Right? They know you're the boss. Or you're supposed to be, at least. Unless you're trying to be the victim. Right?
Kristin Molenaar (12:12): Exactly. I guess you have to make that decision for yourself. Right?
Chris Miles (12:15): Absolutely. What are other things that people can do to actually help, you know, get themselves away from their business and this stuff that they're not just working in it, they're now working on it.
Kristin Molenaar (12:24): Yeah. I love this question and let's move on. Like you've just teed it up for me to move on to the next steps in our three set process. Honestly. So the next step for me is to automate and delegate. So I like to put these two things together because for me, I have seen just so much fruit out of delegation that I actually delegate the automation in my business. I don't do the automation myself, but this is really up to where you are in your business and where your strengths are. If you geek out on, you know, automation go for it, but it doesn't light me up. So you need to think about automating and delegating. Now this has to come after you've determined what things are essential. Don't automate non-essential things. Don't delegate, non-essential things like, you know, we help solopreneurs. We actually are that driving force and that team behind solopreneurs. And we tell them, don't give us stuff. That's not essential in your business because what's going to happen is you're going to bring us in as a team. And you're going to be sharing the vision of your company with us. And we're going to get really excited about us. And then when things get hard, if you've not given us essential tasks, we're going to be the first person that's cut out. And you've spent all this time investing in this team that you're building and they're not bringing anything to the table that really matters in your business. So yeah, the automation, I think that there are a lot of people that might be on the fence about, well, what things do I automate or should I get this platform or that platform? I like to use a very simple math formula. You know, if the platform that you're wanting to use to automate like a CRM or whatever, say it's a hundred bucks a month and you're spending 10 hours a month manually doing it, you need to assess, am I worth $10 an hour? Probably not. So it's time to automate that thing. So that's number two in my process. And then number three is generating effort free income. So this for me was like a big game changer. We internally like calling it white labeling, but essentially what happens is you build a team internally that produces profits for your business. This can look different in a variety of different businesses, but I think for a lot of people, what makes sense is figuring out how you're serving your clients right now and what is a way that you can add additional value to them. But in a way that's like can be systematized and taught to somebody else so that they come in, they provide that support and you make money on the backend.
Chris Miles (14:48): Give us example of that.
Kristin Molenaar (14:50): I was just going to say that! I'd love to give an example because I think that sometimes it's hard to understand how this could work for you. So you have a client who does coaching for people who want to speak on stage. And so what she does is she does all that coaching. So she's showing up and telling her clients how to do that stuff. Well, some of our clients are like, I don't have time. Like, can you just do it for me? And so what she does is she white labels, our outreach service. So for $750, YesBoss does all of the speaker research and outreach for her clients. But because she's in this elevated expertise level, as the coach, she's able to sell that same package for over a thousand dollars. Every time she sells, it puts no work on her back, but it gives her an additional 250 plus the profit margin to pull it into our business. And I think that we should be doing this with all kinds of things in our business. It adds value to our clients. It puts profit in our pocket and it continues to employ people and keeps the money going through other entrepreneurs.
Chris Miles (15:53): That's awesome! Yeah. That's the thing that many entrepreneurs never take the time to take it to that next level, which is all right. How do I duplicate me? Right. And be able to allow this to really grow beyond my own capacity. Right?
Kristin Molenaar (16:06): Yeah. I like to think about being a CEO or building a company. And that's when these things start to like, okay, if you think about, I'm building a company here, I'm not building a job for myself. Like everybody in a company brings value to the company.
Chris Miles (16:21): Yeah, that's right. And then you really just can not have freedom. If anybody's like me, listen to this right now, you probably went to business like I did. And when I did this almost 20 years ago is, I was going in because I wanted control of two things, primarily, you know, my money and my time. Right. Like it really controls my destiny, you know, overall. And I knew I would never get that. Just working in corporate America. I knew that had to be something that went beyond that. But the thing I learned, and I know that you're talking about as well as so many entrepreneurs are saying, yeah, I become the CEO. Yay. I'm free. And then you just created another job that really, in some ways sucks more because if you were like me, I mean, I remember seven, eight years ago after I launched Money Ripples and it's trying to do it from the ground up. Like it got to a point where I started to fantasize about a job. Like I remember thinking like if I could just have a job where I did have to think I could just do one task, that would be so awesome. I wouldn't have to think about all the elements of business with every aspect that has to be done. I can just focus on one job and be brainless. Not to insult any of you guys. So they know a lot of you guys are working W2 jobs and you're not brainless. I know that, but it's that thing that there's so much mental energy to be a business owner. And like you're saying just kind of to become the owner and say, yes, we can look at big picture, but we don't have to be in the trenches with each one of these areas. So, well, I appreciate having you on today, Kristin, and this is awesome. So thank you so much. If you want to learn more about your three steps and how that would apply to their business because they're wanting to be free. Right. What would it be the way they could do that?
Kristin Molenaar (17:51): Yeah. So you can get access to the blueprint. I mean, we went through a very, very quick version of this. I feel like I spoke faster than I've ever spoken before, but you can pick that up at YesBossVA.com/WorkLessMakeMore. If you're a solopreneur, that's feeling burnt out and you're like, don't tell me how to do it. Just do it for me. You can check us out at YesBossVA.com. But yeah, it was a pleasure chatting with you. We covered some really good material really fast.
Chris Miles (18:18): We sure did. Well, Hey, it's that whole like, you know, fast, little rabbit punch, you know, like it's perfect. So that was a lot of value. I really appreciate you being here today.
Kristin Molenaar (18:27): Thank you so much for having me. It's been a privilege.
Chris Miles (18:29): You bet! Everybody else. Thanks for joining us. And again, remember your life doesn't change unless you act upon, unless you do something about this. So if this really resonated with you go to the website, we'll have that in the show notes. So you guys can go there, but yes, this is the perfect time right now to, in a sense, reinvent your business to be the way that you always wanted it to be. So go take action. Check out the link in our show notes, everybody. I hope you make it a wonderful and process week and we'll see you later.

Phoenix Wright Ace Barista
A/N: Okay this was written by me and my son for his creative writing assignment when he was in his freshman year. I was so Proud of him. I thought I would had to post it for the fond Memories. I hope you enjoyed it.
***---***---***---***---
May 12th, 1:45 p.m. Court No.3. What a beautiful day in sunny California. Everyone is up and charged for the day, everyone but one tired and exhausted defense attorney. Phoenix Wright drags himself from the courtroom to the lunch counter. “How was your day Mr. Wright?” Phoenix looks over his shoulder to see Apollo, his young and cheerful junior lawyer, standing behind him holding a half eaten blueberry muffin in his hand.
“Hello Apollo, do you have to be so cheerful?”
“Sorry?” the young lawyer looked to his boss in question.
“Never mind. To answer your question, I have not been having a good day.” Phoenix growled as he pushed his lonely doughnut and coffee to the cashier.  Lucky for him he managed to have enough change for the meager lunch.
“Really, Mr. Wright, what happened?” Apollo followed Phoenix to an empty table and sat across from the tired attorney.
“Well my young friend I will tell you. Be warned this story is not for the faint of Heart. It all started this morning when my Alarm clock went off waking me up at 5am. A whole hour before it was supposed to go off. It pissed me off so much I knocked it off the side table. The impact with the wall rendered it unusable for the foreseeable future. Since I didn’t have an alarm there was no point to going back to sleep other wise I would oversleep. So I got into the shower where I got a rude awakening. Turns out my building shut the hot water off so that the boiler could be repair. It would have been nice to have warning but the sign in the Lobby was too small to notice. So after a lovely shower under a freezing rain I got around to making breakfast. Well, it would have been breakfast had the milk not expired. I guess it had been awhile since I went to the store but I didn’t think it had been that long. I mean there were chunks of milk in my cereal. Anyway skipping breakfast I headed out to my First Job of the day.”
“Wait, First Job? Mr. Wright you already have a job. You are the top defense Attorney in the city! Why would you need more than one job!?”
“Well, I might be the top Defense Attorney in San Francisco but that doesn’t mean a thing when my clients only pay me IOU’s. Now to keep our office afloat I’ve had to pick up an odd job or two. I managed to get a part-time job at the Local coffee shop near the courthouse, it saves on the commute.”
“Oh, you mean you are the manager?”
 “Not, Exactly.”
“Hey Wright, next time I order my Venti Caramel Macchiato try not to drown it in foam. It totally watered down the espresso!” shouted Miles Edgeworth the lead Prosecutor in San  Francisco.
“Don’t worry I won’t forget.” Phoenix gritted his teeth not wanting to start a shouting match in the cafeteria.
“See that you don’t and don’t be late for court. I have a solid witness, that you can’t break, you need to be ready for me to put your client away.” Edgeworth smirked leaving the two attorneys to finish their lunch.
“I really hate that guy. Anyways like I was saying I got a job as a Barista.”
“Oh, I see. I take Mr. Edgeworth was a customer today.” Apollo said understanding the strife his employer was under.
“You got it, but I’m getting ahead of myself. So I went to work this morning at 7 a.m. I got there just in time to see the line forming out the door and around the block. I was put work right away and about five customers into my shift disaster struck.”
 Flashback
“Oh Nick! I didn’t know you worked here!”
“Morning Maya, What can I get you?” I sighed. Not that I don’t like my Client/assistant but she could be a little chatty.
“How funny is that, you are working here of all places? Well I should have seen it coming. Hey, since you’re the barista can you make mine EXTRA special? As in better than EVERYONE else’s you’ve made for so far? Because I’m a very close friend.”
“No. Besides you didn’t even order any-”
 “Aww, why not?”
“Doing that might lose my job. And you still haven’t ordered somethi-”
 “But, Niiiiiick.”
“No means no. Are you even going to get anythi-”
  “Pleeeeeeaaaaase?”
 “No.
 “Niiiiiiiiiick.”
It went on like that for five minutes before I finally got her to order a hot green tea with extra lemon. The next few customer went too happy after having wait so long to get their orders in. eventually things smoothed out until Edgeworth decided to “grace” me with his presences.
“Oh how the mighty have fallen. Nice, apron Wright.”
“Morning Edgeworth ,what can I get you?”
“I’ll have a Venti Caramel Macchiato easy on the foam.”
 “Fine, that will be $6.50.”
“You know Wright, we’re up against each other in court today. I have put together a rock solid case. Not only is your client guilty but I’m going to make sure he gets the maximum sentence.”
“The minimum sentence is the death penalty. How can you get worse than that?”
“WRIGHT STOP ARGUING WITH THE CUSTOMERS AND GET BACK TO WORK!” our discussion was cut short do to the manager yelling at me.
“Yes, sir! Here’s your change now go wait for you name to be called.”
“Very well, see you in court, Wright.”
After Lord High Mighty left Things didn’t get any easier. Two of our five coffee/espresso machines broke. This caused a huge delay in service but there wasn’t anything we could do about it.
“Next.” I said asking for the next person in line. The next person walked to the counter.” Good morning sir, what would you like to-...JUDGE!?”
“Nothing right now, I start judging at noon though.”
“Since when did you ever leave the courtroom!”
“Actually pretty often, just the other day I went to get some groceries.”
“And why are you in your robes? It’s only 8:30.”
 “These are also my pajamas.”
 “TMI.”
 “What?”
“TMI, Too Much Information. I did not need nor want to know that. Anyways, what would you like to order?”
 “Just plain old black coffee.”
“That will be $4.75. Go and wait for your name to be called. What is your name? I don’t think I’ve ever heard it before.”
 “Judge.”
 “Your name is Judge?”
“Yes I had it legally changed when I took to the bench.”
 “What was it before?”
 “Prosecutor.”
 End Flashback
“That was when I felt like ramming my head against the nearest brick wall but there was none to be had so I finished out my shift and barely made it to court. Then before opening Statements the Judge addresses the courtroom and tells them I make a damn fine cup off coffee and everyone should go to the coffee shop tomorrow to try my coffee.”
“Hey Mr. Wright?” Apollo looked to Phoenix with hope in his eyes.
“Yeah?” Now the older attorney looked at his junior lawyer wearily.
 “When are your shifts everyday?”
 “7:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. Why do you ask?”
“I was hoping to get something that I believe only you can make.”
“What, No!” Phoenix reared back in horror. He couldn’t believe it, even Apollo wanted coffee from him.
“Please, Sir? I this a Venti Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino with whipped cream Caramel Syrup and Chocolate Truffle shavings on top. I’ve been saving for two whole months to get it.” The young attorney practically drooling just at the thought of the expensive treat.
“Is this why you haven’t been helping pay rent for our office?”
“Well you seemed to have it covered I didn’t think you that you mind.” Apollo wilted under the Famous Wright Glare.  “So will you make it for me?”
“No.” Phoenix had all he could take of this conversation and started to head back to court.
“Come on sir, Please! I promise I’ll Start paying rent!” Apollo scrambled to follow his mentor.
“NO! You better start paying rent anyways!” and that was the last as the courtroom doors closed locking Apollo out.
  THE END

Waffle and Kae Joint Recap 8/16
Hello Tumblr! We still exist! Children are hard for free time...amiright? GET READY FOR AN ACTUAL RECAP!
Waffle So we both decided that life was far too hard at the moment and it was time to give our child to the wolves for the weekend and run to NYC. (Not really, we dropped her with Gramma and Grandpa and came to down to see Noirtown) As long as we were sneaking away, why not stop by the McKittrick. We flew in Friday afternoon and had a drink at Gallow Green before heading down to queue up. There was a surprise happy hour in the Manderley so we were let in early which is always a pleasant surprise. We found some friends inside to pass the time with before the first elevator was eventually called. I have to say what an adorable and charming pair Elizabeth and Joseph make in the bar. They have great chemistry and are just a joy to watch.
Once inside, I headed to the ballroom which was in mid-scene. It was actually the only ballroom I would see in my 2 shows. Jenna’s Sexy witch did a great job of sucking me in with her creepy and seductive eye contact. I wasn’t sure where I was going to go but by the end of the ballroom, the glances and smirks had me hooked. I followed her up and got a Banquo couch duet all to myself. Jenna’s dancing is next level! This dance easily ranks in my top McKittrick dances. She quickly and gracefully disappeared behind the couch. The dance is breathtaking when done well and Jenna seemed to float through the air at every lift. When she was coming down from the bookshelf for the final kiss, she planted her foot on the couch in a way that was strong and invoked thoughts of a wild animal pouncing on her prey. She still clearly commanded the scene and Jack’s Banquo looked dopey and fooled until the final kiss.
The crowds have certainly gotten bolder and pushier the last few years. I would wager that some of it is what I refer to as the Shanghai effect. The cultural norms in Shanghai are much different than in New York. Personal space and following distances are much closer and fan culture is much more intense. The crowds certainly seem more aggressive then I remember years ago. Two shorter girls pushed in front of me when we all entered Agnes’ apartment and to be honest, I am years past the stage where I will push back at all or even stand my ground aggressively. The performers recognize people and know who is around most of the time. Sometimes that results in those people getting a 1:1 and sometimes it doesn’t. Either way, I am not in a place where I need a 1:1 to feel good about my show.
Jenna reached between the 2 and grabbed my hand to pull me in. The first half of the 1:1 was great but we hit a snag when we had a set malfunction which resulted in her not being able to open the proper door to exit Agnes’ apartment. It wasn’t for lack of trying! She gave me the jellybean before taking my hand and escorting me out to the entryway and back to High street. We watched Pil’s Fulton through the window for a while before he pulled open the door to the autopsy room. I wish I could have seen his face when there was no sexy witch waiting for him. She waited until he came back into the main office before forcefully pushing the door open and standing menacingly in the doorway. She backed Fulton up into the bookshelf behind his desk and proceeded to harass him. She retrieved what she needed then tossed Fulton onto High Street. Jenna’s bartop solo was also great like literally everything she does.
I didn’t feel like seeing the banquet so I headed up to 5. I love me a matron. I really love me a matron that is able to surprise me. I was delighted to find Ginger Kearns’ matron. The matron played a fun little game where she brought out a hand mirror and used it to watch me as I watched her. I love new, weird matron shit! I also love watching how people come and go. It’s oddly comforting watching other guests and pattens in the hotel. How there can be a mob of people and when you look up 30 seconds later, you are alone in a forest.
Tori’s Hecate is a powerhouse. She still unnerves me. She is in control of every moment that happens in the rep bar. She has a signature look she gives Agnes when she comes in looking for help. She smirks, quirks her eyebrow, and leans back in her chair sizing Agnes up. This Hecate is playing the long game and she is having the best time doing it.
I was very disappointed to find there were no red licorice bites in Paisley’s Sweet Shop. I begrudgingly settled for a fruit slice.
The other standout of the show for me was Doug’s Speakeasy. I like my speakeasy one of two ways...either a total jerk or fun and carefree. I want a puppy who either pisses in your shoe every time you come home 5 minutes late or I want the bestest boy ever! I used to call Nick Dillenburg Toolbox Speakeasy because his speakeasy was like a toolbag except also, the whole damn toolbox. I loved it. Doug’s speakeasy is mischievous and funny and adorable. He is a good boy. A loyal servant and a fun speakeasy. He did the most delightful little dance I have seen in ages during his downtime. I LOVED IT!!! He leaned back over his bar and did a little flip/roll to the other side at the start of it. Utterly charming! He also gets points for his cute little tap like dance on the pool table.
Once again, I hung back when it was time to do the shot game but he summoned me forward. I love watching the different variations on the game from performer to performer. He started with the 3 shots before laying out the cards face down. He made a show of flipping them until all the red Kings were facing up and only one card closest to us remained hidden. When he flipped it, it was a black King. He shuffled the cards before smirking and crouching down to continue shuffling while making noises consistent to hacking up a lung, presumably on said cards. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud at the ridiculous/disgusting nature of it. He came up and we all drew cards. The first person revealed a red King. Doug held out the shot and just before the person could reach it, he sent it flying over his shoulder into the wall behind him. The second person revealed a red King. Doug once again held out the shot and as the person reached for it, he slowly poured it out over the edge of the bar (probably on the white masks shoes). I revealed a red King. He held out the glass and as I reached for it, he drank it himself.
At this point, he pulled out the box with the whiskey shot. He slowly opened the top and took a big sniff of the contents. We were then invited to do the same. Round two. He narrowed it down to 2 red Kings and the black King. He reshuffled, complete with crouching and coughing. We all drew a card and when we turned them over, the man in the middle had won. He took his shot. Doug took a moment to stare at us all before reaching in and pulling out another shot of whiskey. He then reshuffled and dealt again. We turned over our cards a second time and the same white mask had won again. One game, two shots. Poor dude looked a bit ill by the end of it! We shook hands and the story moved on.
I spent a good amount of time in the bar this show because Elizabeth Lindsay is my absolute favorite. I considered going back in for the finale but in the end, decided that I was having far too much fun chatting which is a new thing for me. I wanted to close out my bar tab before the rush anyway because we had tickets to Bartchland Follies after the show. Would recommend! KaeLyn Hello, weirdos. It’s been a minute, both since we’ve been to the Hotel and since we’ve posted anything remotely resembling a recap. In fact, the formulaic recap era of SNM itself may have passed, as it seems fewer and fewer fandom posts about the show itself are being posted to the hashtag.
Also, I feel compelled to drop an explainer that we have some questions piled up in our inbox and I just want to say that we do see them and appreciate them, even if we don’t reply. Most likely if we haven't replied it’s because someone else either gets to them first (if, as it often seems, anons are sending those same questions to several old SNM tumblrs at once) or we just don’t see them for a long time because we don’t log in as much and it seems silly by the time we read them. Of course, sometimes we’re just not going to answer on principle (spoilers, rude, etc.). We are still here, queer, going to shows every few months when we can ditch our toddler for a weekend. You’re also likely to catch us at Mayfair or Halloween (Inferno VI? lol). Anyway, our flight home is delayed and we thought it’d be fun to attempt recaps while we were waiting. I imagine mine will come first because I have less to report and, well, Waffle’s recaps have always been more detailed than mine! On Friday, we checked into our hotel and set out to get a leisurely dinner at Ovest, always a good start to a long night in the Hotel. We arrived to the McKittrick around 6:00 PM for a quick drink at Gallow Green, then queued up at 6:30 PM, which I thought was aggressively too early for a 7:30 show, but lucky us–there was a happy hour! Apparently, a thing that’s happening on weekdays? So we were among the first to arrive at the bar, where we unexpectedly ran into some friendly faces from the fandom. One had snagged the corner booth already with some friends. The childfree weekend was off to a great start! It was only made better when Elizabeth (Virginia) showed up and surprised Waffle with a shoulder squeeze.
I rarely full loop these days. Especially after I passed the 100 show mark earlier this year, I have a very chill relationship with Sleep No More. I still look forward to each return, but each show is a slower burn for me and you won’t catch me running up and down the stairs. More often than not, I end up in the bar before the finale. It’s like catching up with an old friend. I find out what’s new. I reminisce on some favorite stories. I settle into a familiar pattern.
This particular night, I started at the ballroom because FOMO-motivated habits are hard to break. The night was kind of a greatest hits list, honestly, and I wish I could tell you I spent time with people I hadn’t watched before or picked up some stuff I hadn’t yet seen (like Doug’s speakeasy), but that’s not what happened. I stayed to watch Stephanie C’s bald witch (f*ck yes) and popped up to catch Nate’s boy witch at the phone booths on his way up to the pool table dance. (Maybe it’s my particular age showing, but Nate looks more like a member of a pop punk band that I definitely saw at Warped Tour in the late 90’s than Draco Malfoy to me. Either way, it works!)
So, I haven’t been lately and I just have to say that the Nick-Jenna-Stephanie witch trio is A+. Best witch coven energy I’ve seen in a while!I caught the first rave, standing near Tori’s Hecate to catch a bit of everyone’s performance (while the crowd was still light enough that I could also see the prophecy even at a distance). I popped up to five for a bit, which was obviously recently cleaned and freshened up. I actually did a full loop ballroom-to-ballroom with Parker’s porter. Then, I came out to the bar for a drink and chatted with folks out there for the duration of the show.
It was a standard McKittrick re-entry show for me, after a few months away, an all-around solid cast and show. We slid out at the end of the night to go up for the Bartschland Follies (which was superb and sexy and silly and so rad and fun and also had far more straight people who looked slightly scandalized front-and-center in the audience than I anticipated).
