you didn’t exactly know how you ended up between the two. whether it was by accident or by their design, you were always seen as the third in their relationship, not that anyone dared to comment on it.

you were the balance between the two, the sweet, smart, clumsy girl, in their eyes you needed protection. protection that only they could provide. it was one of the few things that they didn’t fight over, you were far to sweet to be alone. they were completely infatuated with you.

you were also oblivious to their actions and behaviour, believing them to have your best intentions at heart, of course they did! they loved you! they’d moulded you into needing them, seeking their presence and approval. you trust them, truly. everyone else around you, all the campers could see how defensive they were when it came to you.

“where have you been?” annabeth turned around at your footsteps, sounding her to your arrival. you frowned, “that poor demeter girl, she ended up in the infirmary after training. we tried to ask her who hurt her but she was too scared to talk!”

percy feigned concern, “that sucks. do you wanna swim tonight?” the smile on his face made you giggle, “cmon perce! she’s injured the poor thing.” percy held his arm up, “annabeth sliced me in training, i’m injured, why don’t i get the same concern?” he pouted as you gasped, “oh my god! are you okay?”

you quickly surveyed the bandaged arm as annabeth scoffed, “please i barely touched him.” you swatted her arm, “i’m okay, but i think a kiss would help.” you rolled your eyes before kissing his cheek, “cmon, let’s swim!” you ran inside your cabin, gathering your swimming necessities and clothes as the two leaned against the columns.

“you think she’ll talk?” percy glanced over to annabeth who was intently viewing you excitedly pack towels and snacks for the three of you, “nope,” she spoke, popping the ‘p’ as she stood on both feet, “but even if she does, we’ll make sure she doesn’t ever again.” she shrugged, free of worry or concern as she made her way inside to you, percy following along.

the amount of campers that had ended up mysteriously injured, almost fatally, for even approaching you whilst they weren’t present? too many to count. after more than enough injuries and bruised egos, the camp began to take a hint, you were off limits.

gonna start smaller with characters:

lavinia: the jewish thing wasn't handled completely correctly (just a couple of small things there) but overall 10/10 character. i think she's hilarious and her official artwork ROCKS.

meg: i love her. she seems a little immature for twelve years old TO ME but i also had a... rather abnormal upbringing so that might explain the differences. overall she was a great character and i LOVE the demeter rep (my thoughts on how riordan treated demeter take five pages to clarify so-- basically) love seeing it-- demeter was a kronide and her kids should be treated as such! great character development. peaches was also hilarious (as was crotch-kicker mccaffrey)

lester: calling him lester to separate between godly apollo and post toa apollo. again, fantastic character development. he's so fucking funny. like he does some really dumb stuff at the start of the series (swearing to not use a musical instrument and stuff?? LESTER MAN CMON) his and meg's relationship is so sweet-- and kayla and austin with him? chefs kiss. love apollo kids getting some time with their dad.

jason: absolutely got fridged. i've already touched on my suicide theory so i won't go into that here but basically i think we shoulda seen jason similar to percy (very minor, doing his own thing behind the scenes) but alas.

piper: the shel thing was a bit sudden. don't get me wrong, i'm ALL for queer rep (i think there should be more of it in the books actually) but-- going straight from breaking up with jason to jason sacrificing himself for her to a relationship seems really unhealthy. i think she should have a chance to grow outside of a relationship.

reyna: joining the hunt was a bad end for her. since when was that an ambition of hers? she seemed genuinely happy in new rome and called it her home multiple times in HoO and going from that to the hunt? idk seems like rick doesn't know how to write characters NOT be in a relationship (piper, reyna, leo... they all get squared away)

leo: oh leo baby he didn't get to see jason before he died??? so heartbreaking. didn't belong in a relationship with calypso. the punching thing was weird when he came back to camp-- esp with a character who has a history of physical abuse

frank: i love the frank deciding his own fate thing but also idk seems like a cop out.

hazel: shouldn't have just become praetor i mean cmon. i love her but she's what, 14 now? no way.

Nico: FINALLY ONE OF THE CHARACTERS CANONICALLY GETS THERAPY. the doctors note is--

okay throwing my two cents in. here we go:

episode 5: I squealed too. multiple times. as a kid growing up with the percabeth slow burn how could you not? BUT I think we can/need to allow platonic love and friendship? especially for those complaining about rick "speeding up" the romance, I think it says more about you that that's all you see. because if you're really such a stickler for the books as you claim to be, you would know annabeth and percy cemented their friendship and bond BEFORE they became romantic (battle of labyrinth, their first kiss). percy and annabeth looked out for each other, saved each other, percy was terrified that annabeth might maybe join the hunters because he didn't want to lose a FRIEND; they CARED FOR EACH OTHER COUNTLESS TIMES BEFORE THEY BECAME CANON.

as a shipper, go ahead and squeal. as a viewer, go ahead and read romantic subtext. but can we let a hug ALSO be a friend thing? can we let sacrificing themselves ALSO be a defiant choice of family/friends over glory? can we let annabeth and percy saying things like "he/she's not like that. he/she's better and I want to be like that" ALSO be friends learning from each other and growing?

EPISODE 5 PJO SHOW

Well, okay. This episode did not, in any way, impress me. There were some cute percabeth moments, thats about it. Here goes:

still annoyed that percy is wet. like, cmon. he's supposed to be freaking dry. that's one of his damn SUPERPOWERS. In fact, I require more percy powers throughout the whole damn episode. They are toning it down intentionally. Percy does cool shit all the time in TLT. But here, apparently, annabeth is like "whaa? You used your water powers? What the fuck????" like girl, yeah. he's a fucking sea god. smh. i'm just sick of it, but if you know me, you know that i'm a total slut for percy powers.

WHY IS ANNABETH THE ONE WHO SAW THE FATES ??????? LIKE, THIS IS PERCY'S QUEST??? HE'S THE CHILD OF THE PROPHECY??? grrrr

I'm at least glad that they are talking about the master bolt... And the quest... felt like it was on a back burner there for a minute!!!!! LMAO

I'm glad we're seeing the national man hunt. And seeing gabe on the news and what not. It's still underwhelming, but I'm glad that it's there. One of the best parts of this quest.

When percy says "i'm gonna kill him" when he sees gabe. like yes. please continue this attitude. I wish we saw him more angry. like physically, verbally angry. It was annabeth who was sassy to ares, instead of percy. why ??

Why did grover stay back? why do they do this. why can't the mystery just naturally unfold. Why do they insist on having these super plot revealing scenes that do nothing for the plot (aka when grover stayed back with ares to basically trick him to giving them info. like, whatever)

The whole "push percy" scene with the revolving doors of the amusement park. That's five minutes I'll never get back.

I really loved the percabeth nonsense and the What Is Love and the cool animation on the walls. Cuteness.

The waterpark scene after that got super bad!!!! LMAO. WHAT the frick??? WHERE ARE THE SPIDERS? WHAT WAS THAT WEIRD CHAIR SCENE? WHY WAS THERE 10 YEARS OF USELESS DIALOGUE BEFORE HE GOT IN THE STUPID CHAIR?

is anyone else concerned about the fact that I legitimately, for a few seconds, thought that they would leave percy frozen for the rest of the show? nobody? BECAUSE IT'S BEEN THE ANNABETH SHOW IN LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE SCENE. THE DEPTH OF THE SHOW IS LIKE... HYPERFOCUSING ON HER. WHICH I LOVE HER, I DO, BUT IN EVERY EPISODE SHES THE ONE WITH ALL THE INTENSE DISCUSSIONS AND SCENES. WTFFFFFF

There was a little percy attitude at the end there, with ares. So that was nice.

if they reveal luke as the person who stole the bolt BEFORE the last episode, i'm going to be pissed. grover apparently knows who stole the bolt. Um, that's a little concerning. we shall see.

“Don’t forget to turn in your report, it’s due by tonight so finish it early,” Ms.Peter called out to the class as the final bell rang. Percy groaned inwardly as he packed away his papers and rushed out the door, eager to leave school and start the weekend. Students started pouring out of classrooms into the halls, to head home. The air felt lighter, the pressure from the week lifted as students went home for the weekend. As Percy navigated his way through the crowd he found Hazel who was less walking through the crowd and more just plowing forward while people moved to avoid her. Her earphones were in and she was tapping her fingers against her skirt to a beat no one else could hear but her. Percy walked up and pulled her out the way before she was about to run into a student. The student shot the two of them a look but Percy ignored them and dragged Hazel along

“ What did you do that for?,” Hazel complained

“You were literally about to crash into that person”

“ I was watching, I was fine”

“ Yeah and you were totally fine when you ran into your teacher yesterday and that random guy before that and-”

“ I was paying attention this time”

“Keep telling yourself that”. Frank appeared beside them

“ Let me guess, Hazel crashed into someone?” Frank asked

“ No-” Hazel began

“ Because I was there to stop her” Percy finished

The trio walked into the parking lot to where a silver, used car was waiting for them. Two figures were already in the front seats. In the driver’s seat was Reyna who was concentrating on something on her phone. She looked the part of the school president with her turtleneck and coat she was wearing with her trademark braid over her shoulder. In contrast, Nico had his seat all the way back and was checking on his phone absentmindedly. He was the complete opposite of Reyna, with his regular jeans and leather jacket and his black hair pulled into a short ponytail.

“Thank god you’re here, Piper and Leo have been spamming the group chat for the past ten minutes” Nico said as Frank, Hazel, and Percy climbed into the back of the car. Everyone took out their phones and checked the 40 new messages in the groupchat between Percy, Annabeth, Jason, Piper, Leo, Frank, Hazel, Reyna, and Nico.

The group walked up to the front of the grocery store where Annabeth was waiting for them.

“ Do we really have to take a whole shopping cart?,” Annabeth asked, falling in step with Frank, who was pushing the cart.

“Yes because Hazel wants to ride in it,” Frank said, nodding to Hazel who was sitting cross-legged in the cart.

Frank grabbed a bunch of bags of candy “We’re also gonna buy a ton of snacks,” he said, tossing them into the cart

“ What chips do we want?,” Reyna said, looking at the rows of colourful bags in front of  her.

“ Let’s just get all of them,” Nico said beside her, grabbing as much as he could carry. Reyna grabbed his arm, pulling him back, “ No, let's not get all of them, we don’t have much money guys”.

“ You don’t have much money,” Hazel corrected, “ Me and Nico are rich and can buy as much as we want”. She reached over the cart, grabbing 3 packs of M&Ms. Next to her, Percy and Annabeth were arguing with each other about how much six packs of soda was too much. “ Three packs of soda is not that much,” Percy argued, holding the third pack he was about to put in the cart.

“ It is when they’re twelve packs, that’s thirty-six cans,” Annabeth said, trying to tug the pack away from Percy who was holding onto it, clearly not done arguing. “ Yes we need twelve coca cola cans so that’s one for each of us, and because we don’t know what kind of soda everyone likes we need to get two other packs of fanta and sprite to be safe”

“ Just get coca cola, everyone likes coca cola”.

“ I don’t,” Hazel said, “and Piper prefers Sprite”

“ So it’s settled,” Percy said, tugging the pack away from Annabeth and placing it in the cart, which was becoming so full, the bags were starting to cover Hazel.

“ We’re all gonna be sick,” Reyna sighed.

In the dining room of Percy’s room everyone had dumped all the snacks they had bought on the dining table. With the snacks bought at the grocery store, to everything Jason, Leo, and Piper had bought, the food covered most of the table. Sally walked through the front door, carrying Estelle.

“ Hello sweetie-” she stopped, staring at the ridiculous amount of snacks everyone had bought.

“ Hi mom,” Percy said cheerfully.

“ I hope you’re not planning on eating all of that today,” Sally said, setting Estelle down so she could climb on the table to look at what everyone got.

“ You underestimate how much nine teenagers can eat when they’re hungry,” Annabeth replied, next to Percy

“ Well I hope you finish your homework before settling before settling down,” Sally said, looking at Percy pointedly.

“I didn’t even say anything!” he complained

“No but you complain about Ms.Peter assigning homework on Fridays every week,” Piper called from the living room where everyone else was.

“Ok so she did make a report due tonight because she’s an as-”

“Percy!”

“Sorry,” Percy said, glancing at Estelle, who was still examining the snacks, oblivious. She gasped excitedly, pulling out the M&Ms.

“Please Mommy?” she cried, hugging the packet close to her chest.

“Fine,” Sally sighed

“Oh and I also got you this,” Annabeth said, handing Estelle a Twix bar.

“You’re my favourite” Estelle said adoringly, snatching the bar from Annabeth

“I’m right here!” Percy protested.

Half an hour later, everyone was gathered in front of the tv in Percy’s apartment. Sally and Estelle were upstairs, allowing Percy and his friends to take over the entire living room. Percy, Annabeth, Leo, Jason,Piper, Frank, and Reyna were all squashed together on the sofa with Nico and Hazel sitting in front of them. Everyone could barely fit on the small sofa, with Jason hanging right on the edge. The snacks that everyone had bought were everywhere on the sofa, and strewn all over the floor. As everyone was opening the snacks and swapping them with each other, Leo ran over and pulled out a Monopoly game from the drawer under the tv, sparking an instant reaction from everyone.

“ Oh no, that game is dead to me,” Frank said

“ Only because you keep losing,” Leo teased, setting the game on the table, “ I know Piper wants to play though”. Jason pulled back Piper, who was already getting up.

“ No, it just ends up between you and Piper and it goes on for hours and you win”

“ That’s what makes it so fun”.

“ I know I can beat him this time,” Piper said, stubbornly, “I almost beat him last time”

“ Just like how you ‘almost beat him’ last week? And the week before that, and the week before that, and the week before-” Piper shoved Jason as everyone laughed.

Even Frank relented in the end and that’s how, three hours later, everyone was watching Leo as he studied the two dice in front of him.

“ Dude, why are you staring at the dice, there’s literally no strategy in rolling.” said Annabeth, who had already lost a long time ago. She was sharing a bag of chips with Percy, who had also lost. In fact everyone had lost except for Piper and Leo. Everyone was growing tired of the game and were either on their phone or working their way through all the snacks that had been brought. Hazel had been half falling asleep next to Nico. But now it was getting close to the end and everyone was waiting for Leo to take his turn and roll. One of Piper’s hotels was on Park Place, the most expensive area of the game. If he rolled a 4 it was all over for him. If he didn’t roll a four however, Piper would have to roll and she had about a 50% chance of landing on one of Leo’s hotels in front of her. Leo slowly picked up the die.

“ Finally,” Frank sighed. Leo shushed him and rolled the die across the board and everyone crowded around the table. The two dice showed a three and a one. Four altogether. Leo threw himself on the floor dramatically as Piper jumped up, throwing the fake Monopoly everywhere. Everyone surrounded Piper, jumping up and down and screaming. Leo’s month-long winning streak had come to an end. Everyone was hugging Piper, even Nico, who wasn’t big on physical contact, gave her a high-five.

“ How does it feel to lose?” Piper asked. Leo didn’t move from his position on the floor and just gave her the middle finger.

“ Ok guys,” Reyna said as she flicked through channels , “ What movie are we watching?”. Jason groaned

“ Do we have to?” he asked

“You don’t wanna watch anything?”

“ I do but we’re literally just gonna argue for an hour on what to watch and then when we finally pick a movie, we’re all gonna fall asleep halfway through”

“ Point taken”

“ I vote for a horror movie,” Nico said from where he was sitting next to the soda bottles and demolishing the coca cola bottles, one by one.

“ We’re not watching a horror movie,” Reyna cut in

“ Afraid you’re gonna have nightmares?”. Reyna pointedly looked over to where Piper was sitting.

“ That is not fair-”

“ You literally covered your eyes during most of A Quiet Place”

“ Ok first of all it was scary, second,” Piper said over Reyna’s laughter “ We already watched a horror movie last week, so no more”

“ Then I got nothing”.

The house was mostly quiet for a while as everyone looked on their phones for a movie to watch.

“ Let's just watch Marvel, you can’t go wrong with them.” Jason said

“ Haven’t we watched Marvel, like, a dozen times?” Nico asked

“ Can we watch Age of Ultron?” Hazel asked

“ You just wanna watch that one for Wanda” “ Exactly, so we’re watching Age of Ultron”

“I literally can’t find anything else,” Percy said, dropping his head. Annabeth sat up beside him.

“ I still think we should watch a documentary-”

“ No”

Perfect looked around halfway through the movie to see that everyone had fallen asleep and only he was watching the movie. Frank was still clinging to the bag of candy he was eating.

“Typical,” he sighed, looking at Hazel, who- despite insisting on Age of Ultron for Wanda- had been one of the first ones to fall asleep, on the carpet. But even Percy was tired and soon he found himself slowly nodding off as well.

When he was about to fall asleep, Sally came downstairs to check on everyone. She turned off the tv and threw a blanket over Nico, Hazel, and Jason who were all asleep on the floor, and another one over everyone else on the sofa.

“ Thanks mom,” Percy said sleepily

“ Oh and before I forget,” Sally said, “ Did you finish your report that’s due tonight you?”. Percy looked up.

“Shit”

"So, what's the surprise, Seaweed Brain?" Annabeth asked Percy as they strolled along the beach. It was Annabeth's birthday and Percy wanted to surprise her by taking her to her Poseidon's castle. "Oh you'll see," Percy smirked. "Seaweed Brain, you know I don't like surprises right? And besides, I'll probably even guess what it is," Annabeth said.

Percy groaned like a child. "See this is why I can never surprise you!" He waved he's arms dramatically in the air. Annabeth giggled at her boyfriend's childishness. "Okay okay, I'll try not to guess it okay?" Annabeth promised. "Pinky promise?" Percy held out his pinky like a five year old. "Yes, pinky promise," Annabeth giggled and link their pinkies together.

Percy took her hand and they stroll along Camp Half Blood's beautiful beach. The sun was starting to rise. The sunlight shone on the ocean, the ocean twinkled and dolphins even jumped out and did a few flips in front of the couple. The sky turned a soft lilac and blue colour. Even Annabeth couldn't help but stare in awe.

"This way, my princess," Percy led towards the ocean. "So I did some calculations-"

"Wait? Since when do you do calculations?" Annabeth cut him off. "Anyways," Percy rolled his eyes. "I did some calculations," he emphasised the word 'calculations'. "And that I can make you breath underwater," He grinned. "Well, surprise me," Annabeth crossed her arms and waited. Percy grinned and leaned in. Their lips touch and the dolphins were clapping in the background.

They parted for breath. "That was sweet and all but what was that for?" Annabeth placed her arms around his shoulders. "You'll see," he wiggled his arm around her waist. They were now standing about the sea, thanks to Percy. He slowly lowered them down into the ocean. Annabeth looked around her, she was surrounded in water and she was breathing.

"Wow," She breathed out. Percy was grinning like an idiot. "Cmon," He took her by the hand. As they swam, many sea creatures passed by them. And of course they were whispering to Percy. "That's his majesty's son."

"Lord Percy!"

"Who's the girl beside him?"

"She looks beautiful."

Soon, they were floating at the edge of a underwater gap. Percy whistled and soon two hippocampus swam towards him. They were beautiful. Their skin shone like the galaxy underwater. If you don't know what they are, from the waist up they have a horse as a head and horse hooves, from the waist down, they have a fish tail and flippers.

Both of them each rode one hippocampus. Soon they were in front a huge arch. Inside, they're were sea and ocean nymphs everywhere. Even mermaids and mermen. Annabeth couldn't decide if she was amazed by the creatures or the architecture of the kingdom.

"Hey Dad!" Percy greeted his father, Poseidon who was siting on his throne of seashells and coral. "Percy my son!" Poseidon bellowed as he gave Percy a very big hug. "And Annabeth, good to see again," He smiled at Annabeth. "Good to see you too, my lord," Annabeth, being the mature one bowed.

"Percy told me his plans on everything, and happy birthday Annabeth, this is gift to you, just don't let your mother find out," Poseidon said. Poseidon snapped his finger and a nereid came holding a tray. On top the tray was two glass bottle filled with sparkling blue and green liquid. "A... potion?" Annabeth picked one of the bottle up.

"One for you and one for my son," Poseidon said. "Cool, what does it do?" Percy asks inspecting the bottle. "Why don't you drink and find out?" Poseidon grinned. Percy and Annabeth hesitated but drank it, what could go wrong right?

Percy and Annabeth gulped down the liquid. They started to glow, like really bright, almost as bright as Apollo but I'm not allowed to say that. The glowing died down. "I don't feel any different," Annabeth mumbled. Poseidon snapped his fingers and two mermen came with a body size mirror.

"WOAH!" Percy grinned. They couldn't believe what they saw in their reflection. "W-We're mermaids!" Annabeth said. "Merman!" Percy corrected her. Percy was shirtless but from the waist down, he had ocean green fish tail that sparkles in the light. Annabeth hair was in a half braid which was decorated with pearls and seashells, she had a white crop top that was decorated with pearls. From waist down, she had a coral pink fish tail.

"Oh my gods, this is awesome!" Annabeth swam in circles. Their weapons hung on a belt made of seaweed around their waist. "Thank you, Lord Poseidon," Annabeth bowed. Percy was still busy doing flips and giggling like a kid. Poseidon chuckled at them.

"Go and have fun, explore!" Poseidon sent them. For the entire day, the happy couple swam around, amazed by the underwater life. They returned back to the palace when the ocean turned dark, meaning it was night time. Poseidon was busy signing papers, obviously papers sent from Zeus.

"Ah, welcome back!" Poseidon greeted them back. "Had fun?" He asked. "A lot," Annabeth answered. Percy was still acting like a child. "So, how do we turn back into human?" Percy asked. "Why that's simple, I just... um... I... um," Poseidon stopped and thought for awhile. "I actually, don't know." He admitted. "What!?" Annabeth asked in shock. "I never turned anyone into mermaids before," he added. "T-Then, how?" Percy stutter.

"Well I thought it was a good idea," Poseidon stopped when a ocean nymph came and whispered something into his ear. Both of them had a brief discussion. "Great news! Kyla here," Poseidon gestured towards the ocean nymph, "knows how to turn you back into human!"

"How?" Annabeth raised a brow. "Well, there's this ancient cave near shore, there this magical wishing pearl. People say if you touch it and say you're wish it would come true," Kyla explained. "Then lets goooo," Percy started to swim but Annabeth caught him by the fin. "Hold up, Seaweed Brain." She said. "What's the catch?" Annabeth raised a brow.

"Well, it is near shore but it's deep down, like under shore. Around the midnight zone," Kyla said nervously. "Can we go now?" Percy asked getting impatient. "Percy, the midnight zone is very dangerous," Annabeth told him. "Have you seen me with danger? Demigods are a magnet for danger!" He waved his arms around. "True, but the midnight zone has less oxygen and the pressure is really high. It could burst out lungs, even if we're mermaids, because we're not real mermaids, we're still half mortal," Annabeth explained. "But I can breath underwater," Percy stated. "And I can't," Annabeth pointed out.

"And that is where I come in," Poseidon said. He gave them both a seashell necklace with four stripes on it. "When you are about to enter the midnight zone, put these on. It would let you stay there long enough for you to get to the pearl. But once you turn back to human, you need to get out of there as fast as you can. In mermaid form, you can last longer than human and might only used one bar and that means you have three bars left when you are in human form before your lungs burn," Poseidon explained. "Now be safe, and don't get killed on the way down," Poseidon patted Percy's head. Percy gave Poseidon a hug and said their goodbyes. Percy took Annabeth's hand started to swim back to shore.

When they were almost near shore, they stopped and look down. "Ready, Wise Girl?" Percy asks. "Ready," Annabeth answered. Both of them put on the necklace and the four stripes started to glow as they descended into the midnight zone. Many giant creatures such as squid and sharks passed by them. They didn't want to mess with them, I mean who would want too? He's the son of Poseidon, their king. But they did had to kill a few squids who were rebellious against Poseidon.

They soon found a cave. It was attached to the shore line, the entrance was covered with seaweed, but there was faint glow coming from the inside. They swam towards it. But Annabeth pulled Percy towards a rock and hid behind it. "What is it-" Annabeth cut Percy off by putting her index finger to her lips. "Listen," she whispered. Percy ears perked up as he heard movement and low growling near the cave. Both of them peeked up from the rock. Huge tentacles surrounded the cave. "It's a kraken!" Percy exclaimed. "Shhh!" Annabeth shushed him. The kraken red eyes glowed in the dark, its tentacles making a swishing sound as it moved. "What are we gonna do?" Percy asked. Annabeth thought for awhile. "We need to distract it," Annabeth said. "How?" Percy asked. "We need to get passed this tentacles," Annabeth said. "They are huge! It's like fighting an underwater Hydra just that the tentacle doesn't grow back but it's bigger and longer," Percy groaned.

Annabeth thought for awhile. "I got it!" A tiny lightbulb sparked from her head. "We can swim fast, even though the tentacles is huge it can't move that fast cause of its weight. If we swim fast enough and different direction, we could confused it and the tentacles would very tangled," Annabeth said. Percy nodded.

"1,2,3 go!" Annabeth said. Percy and Annabeth charged at the kraken. Swimming fast and around it. It was annoyed by them but also confused. "HEY SQUID FACE!" Percy called him multiple names. Soon, the tentacles were all tangled and the kraken was struggling to get it out. "Now!" Percy said. They swam inside the cave, brushing past the seaweed entrance.

"Woah," Percy looked around the cave. "This Place looked like someone lived here," He said. "Percy! In here!" Annabeth called him. Percy Swann towards Annabeth. A huge pearl sat on table of coral, it was glowing a coral pink light. "Ready?" Annabeth asked her boyfriend, he nodded. Both of them put their hands on the pearl and closed their eyes. "I wish to be human again," They both said in unison. Both of them started to glow for a moment. The glowing died down and they opened their eyes. "We're human again!" Annabeth gasped. They were back in their camp attire.

Just in time, they heard a beeping sound. A bar from the seashell was gone, three more left. "Cmon, we have to-"

"Wise Girl look out!"

"Huh- AAAAH! PERCY!" Annabeth screamed. A tentacle had sneaked in and wrapped itself around Annabeth's waist and pulled her out. "AAAAAHHHH!" She yelled. "WISE GIRL!" Percy swam after her. The kraken had untangled itself. It roared at Percy. Annabeth was hanging off the tentacle, squirming to get out but the grip only got tighter. Annabeth grunted in pain.

Percy whipped out Riptide. "LET HER GO YOU SQUID FACE!" He yelled at it. The kraken roared at him and charged it tentacles at it. Percy dodge most of it. He sliced of one. The kraken roared in pain. Usually, squid can regenerate their tentacles but it takes time, and this kraken doesn't have time before Percy turns it into calamari. Percy stabbed at the kraken as it charged at Percy. "HANG ON WISE GIRL!" Percy said. He charged towards the tentacle holding Annabeth and sliced it off. Annabeth untangled herself, Percy swam towards her and wrapped his arms around her.

Annabeth felt dizzy, she realised her seashell had only one and a half bar left. Before she could say anything, she passed out in Percy arms due to the lac of oxygen. Percy panicked for awhile then realised why she had passed out. The kraken had swam back into its hiding place to regenerate its tentacles. Percy swam upwards to the light.

"Hah!" Percy's head popped up from the water. He dragged Annabeth towards the sand, Percy kissed her a few times which he considers CPR. A few minutes later, Annabeth started to cough out water. "Hey there Wise Girl," Percy grinned at her. "Hey, Seaweed Brain," Annabeth kissed Percy. Right now, it was night time. The stars were shining brightly.

"So how did you like your birthday present?" Percy asked his girlfriend. They were lying on the sand, not caring if they had sand on their backs or hair. "It was, unexpected I have to admit. I did expect you taking me to Poseidon's castle but not the mermaid part," Annabeth admitted. "So, did I surprise you?" Percy asked. Annabeth laughed. "Yes, yes you did," She kissed him one more. She snuggled up to him as both of them admired the beautiful night sky above.

This was truly an amazing birthday experience that Annabeth will never forget.
