I was influenced by the blog of @knowltonsrangers and read the webcomic The Dreamer in a frenzy over the span of 24 hours, and while I have a LOT of opinions about it, one thing I have to say is that Alan’s letter to Beatrice in issue #13 was GORGEOUS. I literally haven’t stopped thinking of it for the past several days. I have extreme empathy for Beatrice falling in love with Alan now, because I too would have folded like a lawn chair. The last page of that issue will haunt me until I DIE

Warren Kepler Wrapped
This year, you
threw 849 rocks at Warren Kepler
riddled him with 1,104 bullets
locked him in 352 timeloops
stuck 12 pins in Warren Kepler to fix him to a board to study him like a butterfly
rotated him in your mind 7,391 times
paced the floor for 3,470 hours wondering why the fuck this asshole has such an intense grip on your psyche

I was lucky enough to get to visit the Paley Archive in NYC recently, where I got to see a few TV pilots, TV movies, and other TV/radio texts that aren’t publicly available elsewhere. I had a great time—very much recommend paying a visit if you’re around the NYC area!!—and, excitingly, got to see a few of the above-mentioned objects that featured Alan Alda (wow!). Most of these were unsold TV pilots from the 60s (Where’s Everett (1966), The Laughmakers (1962)), some were episodes of serial TV programs that aren’t easily available elsewhere (The Doctors and the Nurses - Night Sounds (1963)), and some were TV movies or pilots-turned-TV-movies (6 Rms Riv Vu (1974), Higher and Higher: Attorneys at Law (1968)). I also checked out the pilot episode of the sitcom Alda wrote (We’ll Get By (1975)), which got a 12-episode run in 1975. I’ll be writing up brief summaries, more complete plot recountings, and minor Alda-specific notes for the majority of these on my blog—I’ll make a masterpost of links to each writeup after they’re all posted. That said, you can find the first post here, in which I summarize the unsold pilot of The Laughmakers (1962), about an improv comedy group in New York City in the 1960s.

One season off from Red Valley and I am so pleased I took a listen. I’ve also been playing Alan Wake while listening to it which has resulted in some strange connections in my brain. My fav character is probably Warren and my least yo-yos between Bryony and Clive even though I do love them.

If Ubisoft won't give us more modern day info then I think we should make AMA's of modern assassins/templars. I'm reading an AMA of an animal researcher and I keep imagining a templar talking about their work on the animus project.

July 2014. Dazzling Tula Lotay artwork for SUPREME BLUE ROSE, previewing the cover of #2 (above), and a page from that issue:
Tumblr media
I don't even know how to summarize what's going on here because this series is a pastiche on a pastiche of a pastiche: a Warren Ellis revival of Alan Moore's SUPREME — an extended pastiche of/homage to the Silver Age Superman, and Silver Age DC more broadly, based on Rob Liefeld's '90s Superman pastiche/parody — framed as a pastiche of William Gibson's Blue Ant trilogy (PATTERN RECOGNITION, SPOOK COUNTRY, and ZERO HISTORY), and featuring some of the most jaw-dropping artwork I've seen in a modern comic book. It will probably not make any sense at all if you're not familiar with the things I've just named, but if you are, it is unaccountably, exceptionally good.

Chloe Wake AU.
Inspired by my posts on if Joyce dated and married Alan Wake instead of David Madsen.
When Chloe met Alan, she saw him as the most basic person she’s ever met and since then doesn’t get along with him though Alan tries.
When Alan became famous thanks to the Alex Casey novels and movie, Chloe felt even more alone and began seeing him as an out of touch douche. Everyone just wants to be friends with the daughter of the author of the edgy crime novels.
Barry really tries his best for Chloe and Alan to get along as they really do act alike. Though Chloe likes Barry a lot. She thinks he’s funny and cool.
Chloe flipped off the camera in a talk show when Alan introduced her and Joyce to the audience.
She also had the same interactions with the paparazzi as Alan.
After Cauldron Lake, Chloe felt like a giant piece of shit after what Alan did for her and her mom. She realized that despite her attitude towards him, he really did love him like her old dad.
She and Joyce returned to Arcadia Bay to live in the Prescott Estates while she attended Blackwell. That’s where she realized that Cauldron Lake takes artists as she learned it from Barry.
Since then, she’s been studying to become a musician while Joyce has her art exhibits. She became determined to get her dad back to write her wrong. Because of this, Chloe stayed in Blackwell and was never expelled. That’s where she met Rachel Amber in a club where she was singing at.
Tor and Odin Anderson offer Skype lessons to her on how to shred the guitar.
She and Joyce were interviewed by the FBC about the situation. Since then, she also became determined to become an FBC agent or at least work with them.
Jefferson was discovered early than expected thanks to Alan sending a message from the Dark Place to her. Because of this, Rachel is still alive though her parents moved away after the incident.
Chloe then reunited with Max years later when she saw her on stage play during opening night for Blackwell.
Due to no Nathan and Jefferson, Chloe graduated Blackwell as Max learned about what she’s been doing. Chloe also calls Alan her “other dad” instead of stepdad.
