The background to London’s march of hate
Al Quds day is an Iranian invention, that was introduced into the calendar in 1979 by the regime in ‘opposition to the existence of Israel’. The UK’s celebration of the Islamic hate festival is organised by the Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC). The IHRC is an antisemitic extremist group that glorifies terrorism.
I have been reporting from the annual Al Quds events for about a decade. Before the Hezbollah flag was proscribed, I’d see people proudly wearing Hezbollah T-shirts or Nasrallah T-shirts, walking through some of London’s most famous streets. This image from 2018:
Antisemitism is always present. In 2017, even before the march had started, I filmed Nazim Ali (then Director of the IHRC), whipping up the crowd by blaming ‘Zionists’ for the Grenfell Tower disaster, saying the Board of Deputies had blood on its hands, and suggesting that Zionists were ‘imposters’ – not real Jews. This recording led to the General Pharmaceutical Council opening a ‘fitness to practice’ hearing against him (the original sham trial was thrown out by the High Court and the case is still ongoing). It came as no surprise to see Nazim Ali still leading the Al Quds event this year:
So yes, this hatefest and I – we have history.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) addresses attendees as she takes part in a protest calling for a ceasefire in Gaza outside the US Capitol, in Washington, DC, US, Oct. 18, 2023. Photo: REUTERS/Leah Millis
On Wednesday, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) refused to condemn anti-Israel protesters who chanted “death to America” and “death to Israel” during a rally in her district, sparking bipartisan backlash.
At an “Al-Quds Day” rally in Dearborn, Michigan protesters chanted “death to America” and “death to Israel.” A speaker at the event also quoted Malcom X saying “We live in one of the rottenest countries that has ever existed on this earth.”
The speaker continued, explaining that “The chant ‘death to Israel’ has become the most logical chant shouted across the world today.”
Another speaker proclaimed “Israel is ISIS, they are Nazis, they are fascists, they are racists.”
Michigan’s 12th congressional district, which Rep. Tlaib represents, includes Dearborn.
The initial incident sparked condemnation from both sides of the political aisle. The mayor of Dearborn, Abdullah H. Hammoud, wrote on Twitter/X that, at the rally, people chanted “statements that were unacceptable and contrary to the heart of this city.”
“We reject all inflammatory and violent statements made at the gathering. Dearborn is a city of proud Americans; the hateful rhetoric heard on Friday does not reflect the opinion of the members of this community,” he continued.
White House spokesman Andrew Bates told The Daily Caller that “The White House condemns these abhorrent and Antisemitic remarks in the strongest terms. As [US] President [Joe] Biden has said, America is the greatest nation on Earth and a beacon to the world.”

The White House condemned protesters who were caught on video at an Al-Quds Day rally in Dearborn, Michigan, chanting “death to America,” in a Monday statement to the Daily Caller. The chants broke out after one activist, Tarek Bazzi, spoke at the event about past criticism the Al-Quds Day rallies have received for being “anti-America.” Bazzi then went on to add that America was one of the “rottenest countries” to ever exist in the world. The White House reacted to the anti-American language in a Monday statement to the Daily Caller. “The White House condemns these abhorrent and Antisemitic remarks in the strongest terms. As President Biden has said, America is the greatest nation on Earth and a beacon to the world,” Andrew Bates, a White House spokesperson, told the Daily Caller.
Meanwhile, "The White House" stabbed Israel in the back in order to pander to these Hamas supporters and buy their votes.
