"DC Pride" Returns for 2024

DC Comics' has announced that DC Pride, its anthology celebrating LGBTQIA+ characters is retuning for 2024. The 104-page comic is presented in a Prestige format.

Content in DC Pride 2024 includes:

Phil Jimenez's autobiographical story about the "fantastical worlds that shaped him, brought to life by Giulio Macaione"

Nicole Maines and Jordan Gibson's tale about Dreamer's pilgrimage to her ancestral planet of Naltor

Gretchen Felker-Martin and Claire Roe's story that has Poison Ivy and Janet from HR on a spore hunt in Portworld

OC Pride Challenge Day 6 - Genderfluid/Non-Binary

Al Daniels (Gotham) - pronouns he/they

Once upon a time there was a young girl called Allison Daniels, childhood friends with Jim Gordon who, despite living in Gotham, still tried to see the good in people, and as she got older even dreamt of joining the GCPD to reform it from the inside.

Many years later, this has now changed - their stint in the police force was short-lived, lasting only about a year before they quit in disgust at the system and at themselves for ever thinking different. Jaded, cynical, and convinced that Gotham can't ever be changed, the only good thing in his life is his acknowledgement and acceptance of his gender identity. Currently working as a bouncer in a nightclub, they don't see Gotham's situation changing anytime soon. And when Jim Gordon returns to not just live in Gotham but join the GCPD despite Al's warnings, he's tempted to write him off as just another idealistic fool...

Which he is. He's also still their best friend - and, unfortunately, the man he's somehow caught feelings for (though Al's shitty timing means he's never actually had a chance to confront that), and despite his apparent death-wish from day one, they can't just let Jim go down like that. Someone's gonna have to help him navigate Gotham and it's layers and it might as well be them - Jim would do the same for him, after all. Maybe they'll even convince the guy to quit the GCPD before he gets killed - a person can still dream, after all.

Of course, influence over a friend can go both ways - and Al might just find that optimisim isn't dead after all...
