(((Atsuko's backstory because I actually need to write this shit down. Will be long! Warnings; Paedophilia, murder, child abuse, underage marriage/smoking/drinking/drug use, please let me know if I missed any. Btw this whole thing will be ooc)))
Atsuko is originally from England, her Father owned a mechanical business and her mother was an arms dealer. She doesn't remember much about her parents but Atsuko did remember the galas and business deals she was brought to.
When she was seven, her parents took her to Japan; she didn't know it at the time but Atsuko was being trafficked because of her quirk*. The plane crashed due to a navigation era and her parents were left unconscious. Atsuko, being a little kid at the time, didn't late attention to the safety brief and so she thought the oxygen masks were killing he parents. In a moment of pure panic she took the masks off of them and was about to yelll for help; she heard a loud noise, grabbed her mother's phone and ran away.
After hours of running from the crash site, Atsuko found a city. Atsuko didn't understand much but she eventually figured out she fucke up when her parents weren't with her. She looked around to find a new name; Her eyes flicked to an advert for an anime about a magic school and Atsuko took the name of the main character. Akko stole the name Shigaraki from a local news station, reporting on a Shigaraki.
While she was in the city, a man by the name Riku Kaja took her in. Riku was an underground broker who loved young girls. He had previously killed his wife and daughter in a drunken rage. Riku took Atsuko from the streets and gave her shelter for a while. Her time with him was horrible; her trained her to kill, by the time she was eight he wanted to marry her. Kaja's favorite thing to do was get Atsuko drunk/high and try fuck her. She locked herself in her room whenever she felt a little tipsy after the third time it happened. He encouraged her to smoke and self harm and threatened to kill or torture her if she messed up.
Atsuko was twelve years old when she finally figured out how to use her mother's broken phone. She found deals and bids on herself, how they were distantly related to All For One and how her father exploited his employees. She stole Kaja's pistol and ran away that night.
For two years Akko stole to survive. She lived in the roof of a school, abandoned buildings and old shops. Her mother's phone was the only source of communication but Atsuko couldn't understand why it wouldn't work. She had no hope for the world and was about to end it all when she saw Hawkssave somebody. Atsuko was shocked that a person could do that! She began obsessively watching Hawks, following his social media, following him on his patrols. Atsuko wanted his attention.
She reached out to him (as well as some UA students) and tried getting better. It worked and now she's safe with her hero. Sometimes, the urges to kill, to smoke or to hurt herself resurface. Nine times out of ten, Atsuko gives in to thoese urges and she hates herself for it.
*Her quirk is Lovely Luck; if she loves someone and their in a 5,000ft range, they get good luck. This can be anything from getting something for free or winning a fight

Auntie Moon
"Tsuki." The little one dubs me "Tsuki" and nothing else. She couldn't really enunciate my name, nor could she say "Auntie" but I think that's well and good. I figured she made the connection betwixt myself and the moon because she saw me at night. That, I think, is a given because I'm used to either staying up at night or getting up in the middle of the night. Well, she saw me when I went to check on her. I think it didn't take too much for me to realize, later, that the little one was nearsighted, so, perhaps, to her, the moon and I looked very much the same.
As for the little one's name, her name is "Aiko" but she doesn't call herself that. No, when her mother called her by that name, she spat and said, emphatically, "NO! I is 'Yuzu', no Akko!" I don't know why she calls herself that, then again, Ryuuko, for most of her pregnancy, had a particular craving for yuzu. Yes, she had yuzu fruit with the peel on it, then again, Ryuuko has been quite strange with her eating of lemons with the peels on them. During her pregnancy, she was more "mellowed" but, otherwise, she was the same. Yuzu, from what I could say, is very much a spitfire like her mother and she demonstrated that in that moment when she asserted herself as "Yuzu", not "Aiko".
Yuzu came into this world on November 1st , en-route to a hospital, after her mother's rather quick labor. She weighed about 6-7 pounds and, from what I could tell, she was rather robust. She strongly resembles her mother, though her streak is more like a silvery-white, instead of red and her hair being a bit wavier. She was rather little, despite her weight. Oh, and she had one natal tooth, a canine.
She was a "surprise", in more ways than one. About a few months before, Ryuuko announced her pregnancy and that took us by surprise but I think Ryuuko was more surprised than the rest of us, considering that she had only found out just prior to telling us. Of course, we were curious and, interestingly, on the subject of paternity, Ryuuko was evasive, telling us, "I don't know and, frankly, I really don't care!" However, the only thing she could say, concretely, is that she conceived Yuzu in a bar. I have my suspicions on that but I didn't push, especially, since, to Ryuuko, Yuzu is more important than how she was conceived, much less the paternity.
I suppose that's enough backstory, as, with my niece's presence in my life, I have some things that I've learned.
With my niece, I've learned patience, or, rather, I've learned how much patience I truly can have. Somehow, one night, a night where Ryuuko was dead tired, Yuzu managed to get out of bed and come into my room. Ordinarily, I'd be annoyed at being awakened during my sleeping hours, whether I'm used to being up so late or early, but I found that annoyance being melted away, when I heard her voice. In a few words, she said, "Tsuki, om'ette." I wondered, if for a moment, she was hungry or just sleepy, but, regardless, I found myself getting up, taking her in my arms, and going downstairs to the kitchen. Before this, I mused, your mother used to wake me up for omelets. I would find myself amused that she'd be sleepy after eating said omelet, so, perhaps, it was both.
I've learned how curious my niece is. That, clearly, is a trait she's inherited from her mother. I suppose, curiosity a given, considering her myopia, and so she has to investigate what things are. If she wants very much to know something, she'd flip over a rock, flowerpot, or grab at something to feel it and it isn't so much that she can't ask what it is. She can but she hasn't the words nor the articulation to do that very well, being two-years old. Certainly, we had to get used to this, especially since she refused to wear her glasses. At some point, Ryuuko concluded, "Maybe Yuzu thinks the world is more interestin' that way?"
Myopia be damned, as I did notice, Yuzu was drawn to things that sparkled. Jewelry is something the piques her curiosity the most, perhaps more, because, she has to closely inspect jewelry. She doesn't have to know what jewelry is or what the idea is for but jewelry is sparkly and she's drawn to sparkly things. So far, she's figured out that jewelry doesn't taste good and so doesn't try to eat it.
Tying into this, a common thing in the house that piques her curiosity is my jewelry box, well, one of them. I have two jewelry boxes and Yuzu goes for the one with costume jewelry but she can't tell the difference either way. So far, she's figured out what bracelets are for, rather, how to wear them, but, mostly, she's very intrigued and spends a bit of time playing with them.
If it's not bracelets, it's butterflies and I think she's more curious about those because she can't see them very well. She knows that they flutter but not what they look like so much. So far, she’s only observed them closely, once, and that was when she was a year and a half old, in her mother’s arms. Perhaps, she doesn’t quite know that the fluttering blurs and the butterflies up close are the same creature.
I've learned her stubbornness, rather, how infectious it is. Before, I had to "outstubborn" Ryuuko and my sister is quite stubborn, stubborn enough as to where one may as well give into her demands or, otherwise, act like one does not care. Outstubborning Ryuuko can be done but her daughter is a different story because Yuzu doesn't know what being "stubborn" is, regardless, she defiantly asserts her will. When Nonon referred to her by her birth name, Yuzu decided to, as Ryuuko would call it, "puff up". Promptly, Yuzu told her, "NO! I is Yuzu!" and Nonon decided to argue, to which, I, rather surprisingly, agreed with Yuzu.
"Nonon, she calls herself 'Yuzu'. You should know by now."
"Matoi named her 'Aiko', Satsuki-chan, so I'm going to call her that."
"No, you're going to call her Yuzu. She calls herself that and you will call her Yuzu."
"Satsuki—"
"NO!"
It turned into a three-way staring match but, mostly, I think Yuzu was more confident, as her glare made Nonon concede, "Fine, she's Yuzu." Frankly, I wondered if I agreed with her because I knew it would be pointless to argue or if I just found it amusing. Thinking about it, she wasn't much "stubborn", just defiant, though, I think those two things were combined. She refuses to be called anything but "Yuzu", clearly, but she'd make it a point to not answer to "Aiko".
As far as outstubborning her goes, I've learned that, if I make it seem like I'm agreeing, she's more apt to do the opposite.
"No!"
"Well, if you don't want to wear your shoes, that's fine, don't wear them."
"Mmm!"
Yes, I think it has to be defiance. Tell her to do something, she'll do the opposite.
Through my niece, I realized how gentle I could be. I knew I was capable of gentleness but I never knew exactly how gentle. I've noticed this most prominently when I held her when she was infant and I was terrified of hurting her but those fears lessened when I saw how at ease she was in my arms. Before that, she was never away from her mother but Ryuuko needed to rest, so she offered for me to hold Yuzu. I think, in retrospect, I was more astonished at how at ease the baby was in my arms.
I further realized my gentleness when she startled me from my sleep. That action, if it had been anyone else, would earn a hard slap with the back of my hand but, with Yuzu, it didn't. I was startled, yes, but I didn't send her flying. No, I found myself reaching for her in the dim room, feeling her little fingers grab at mine, as she asked, "Tsuki?" I think, in learning this, I've come to mellow and not send anyone flying (again), in the off chance it's my niece waking me up.
Another thing, I've learned is that I can make more exceptions. See, in learning this, I realized that Yuzu's love language is touch. I don't really care for being touched but I think of Yuzu being an exception to that rule. Being myopic, I figured this would be a given as she continues to live without glasses but I found out there was more to it.
In doing some exercise, I was doing some stretches and Yuzu seemed to mimic my movements, but she placed her hands on my mine, going "Tsuki!". Initially, I wondered if that's what she thought she was supposed to do but it became clear that she was displaying affection by holding my hands. Somehow, I found myself reciprocating her gesture by lightly gripping her hands in response. After that, idly, she took my hand in hers, walking with me for a bit.
After that, her little gestures were indirect. She'd either reach out to touch my hand, my back, or my shoulder, sometimes, gripping at my clothes if need-be. She wouldn't ask to be held, no, and she didn't seem aware that I'd oblige her but little bits of touch like that were her love language expressed.
One night, after dinner, Ryuuko placed her hand on my shoulder, saying, "Goodnight, Sis, I love you." before making an observation, as Ryuuko did the same with Yuzu as she led her to her bed, when something clicked. Being very much her mother's daughter, Yuzu mimicked her mother, reciprocating and replicating the actions Ryuuko would do, though the latter would pick her up and hold her. Of course, Yuzu's too little and light to pick up anyone, so she shows affection in a way that she can, but she's adjusted her gestures of affection specifically to me.
At times, I look at my niece and then the realization of how monstrous Ragyo was sinks in. Five is not too much older than two and I think, How could anyone hurt you? I think, through Yuzu, I have more motivations for my social work studies. I didn't have a childhood, no, but I don't envy Yuzu or my sister for theirs. However, I am quite privy to how cruel some parents truly could be and, so, as I pursue my studies, I opt to turn my pain into protection. I suppose I've learned that I have a maternal instinct, though, I don't have children, and that instinct extended to my niece. I don't know how I'd be as a mother, no, but I do know that I'd likely be better mother than Ragyo.
Related to this, I think, through Yuzu, I've realized is that I didn't know I wanted a child or two. However, I don't think I can have them at all, considering the gynecological woes I deal with. Pain be damned, I did make peace with them. Ryuuko, from what I can tell, isn't aware of said woes and I never told her, but, in a way, be it indirectly, I do have a child. “She really loves you, Sis.” Ryuuko told me, over tea, as Yuzu seized one of my hands. I did notice what Ryuuko said because that’s very obvious, but I was more fixated on what Yuzu was telling me about her day.
I’ve learned, as well, that I’m full of love. I've loved Yuzu when Ryuuko first told me she was expecting, but I think I really loved her when I saw her. There was love, the beginnings of a connection. Said connection was further cemented when I held her in my arms for the first time. Thinking of it, I think her birthname, the name she refuses to be called, "Aiko" is very fitting, as she's very loved but, in turn, she gives love, too.

Each person has their own opinion, so they are free to disagree with what I have to say, so I have points that I find negative about Little Witch Academia (although I love the anime, but nothing is perfect)
1. Lack of character development for some supporting characters: While Akko, Diana, and Sucy receive significant development throughout the series, some of the other supporting characters like Lotte and Amanda could have been given more depth and growth.
2. Pacing issues: At times, the series feels rushed, especially in the second half. There are plot points that could have been explored further or given more time to develop, but are resolved too quickly.
3. Lack of focus on magical education: While the initial premise of the show revolves around witch training, the series often sidelines the school setting and focuses more on adventure and action.
This can feel disappointing to viewers who were expecting more in-depth exploration of the magical education system.
4. Lack of consequences: The show tends to resolve conflicts and challenges without significant consequences. This can make the stakes feel lower and lessen the impact of certain storylines. 5. Lack of variety in character designs: Some viewers have criticized the show for having a limited range of character designs, with many of the background characters looking very similar. This can make the world of Little Witch Academia feel less diverse and vibrant
6. Underutilized side characters:
Some side characters, like Constanze and Jasminka, are not given significant screen time or opportunities for development. This can make their presence feel extraneous and unexplored.
7. Lack of depth in villains: The antagonists in the series, while visually striking, are not given much depth or backstory. They often come across as generic evil characters instead of having complex motivations or conflicts.
8. Repetitive plot structure: Some viewers have noted that the show falls into a repetitive pattern, with Akko encountering a problem, facing setbacks, and then overcoming them in a predictable manner. This can make certain episodes and storylines feel formulaic.
9. Lack of closure: The series ends on an open-ended note and some viewers have expressed disappointment in the lack of closure or resolution for certain character arcs and storylines.
10. Lack of exploration of darker themes: While Little Witch Academia initially hints at exploring darker themes like discrimination and societal issues, these aspects are not fully delved into or given much narrative weight, which can be seen as a missed opportunity.
So that's it, and you are free to disagree with everything I said.

LWA ship babbles because I’m multi shipping trash
Diakko:
Holy crap what’s not to love? I adore how they’re actually given time as enemies like yes Diana be *that mean girl.* I wanted more time for them to develop their relationship more but Shiny Chariot conquers all, and I love how it’s like. They balance each other out so well. And I love that they share the experience of getting their magic back, and all the contrast of their respective backstories it’s just so cool. Also Diana is gay and European and as soon as Akko finds out about the legally blonde song she teases Diana relentlessly with it
Amandakko:
One of my personal OTPs, I’m a sucker for sunshine x sunshine protector and gays doing chaos together. I’m realizing that everyone is just a bit of a jerk to Akko except Lotte at the beginning but hey that’s school? Meh. Anyways. Basically Ryumako but with less awful character design and more Catradora. I love the idea that they talk to each other offscreen and relate by both struggling in academics, and that they both love the thrill of adventure. If the series were longer I’d kill for more episodes with them doing random stuff. It could be as simple as baking cookies idk
SuAkko:
I’ve been digging more friends to lovers stuff bc I’m very tired and can’t find myself any enemies so I project my feelings onto ships like these. Adventures in Sucyworld was what sold me on this bc holy crap was that a cute episode. Akko being Sucy’s knight in shining armor and Sucy’s inner thoughts totally shipping them like. Gah, amazing. Lovely. They’re a disaster together and I love them
Lotteakko:
Why don’t the best friends ever become something more? Istg. It happened in TOH and it happened here too. Lotte and Akko are so sweet and stuff it’s just like. They compliment each other in a different way to Diakko and it’s just as neat. Please one day let the character with glasses date the protagonist /hj. Honestly I wish there were more content of them towards the latter half of the series.
Constanzakko
Before you ask, I checked the wiki and I’m pretty sure they’re the same age, Constanze just has zero height. “I will build a gundam for us to pilot” type relationship, I’m kinda realizing that even without ships, LWA hinges on Akko’s ability to find common ground with everyone despite sticking out like a sore thumb at first. She manages to get Constanze to open up a little and that’s amazing.
Jasminkakko:
GIVE JASMINKA A CHARACTER YOU COWARDS. SHE AND AKKO ARE BOTH FOOD THIEVES AND TROUBLEMAKERS AAAAAAAAAAAAA. I’m going slightly feral bc the only member of Green team not to have an episode with Akko was Jasminka, and she’s such a cool character. Tank stats, internal demon, kindness, gah if only there were more time in the series. They’d totally bake stuff together and do random shit like punch trees

I was going to make a joke about “Lotte is the only fan who doesn’t want their fanfiction to be canonized”.
But then I realized... I probably wouldn’t, either? And she’s talking like she Can’t Write in the first place (enjoying looking up to people for doing osmething She Can’t, which is a very sweet way to contrast her from Akko by the way).
But even as an adamant writer and lover of fanfiction myself, I would be too shy and skittish about having so many fans reading (and judging and criticizing) my stories.
Even though I KNOW I put more effort into designing my Raven’s-sibling fancharacter’s backstory to be canon compliant than the people who wrote Sons of Trigon. XP And I will FOREVER be bitter about that, but Titans 2008 sucked anyways.
I won’t lie, I felt SO very delighted when I found out that fanfiction is canonically canon in A Different Earth according to DC Comics.
But the fact that it’s my OWN PRIVATE Separate Earth is part of the delight. Yeah, I wish more people read my fanfics and shared the love I have for my characters and their stories... but my stories are written to please ME, not to please a Target Demographic^tm. (I mean, they’re basically All About my OCs with Raven co-starring in most of them. Honestly the rest of the team largely falls to the wayside. And so many of them are about rather mundane things compared to canon. Hell, I think there are only Two Canonical Fight Sequences! In a SUPERHERO fanfic!)
Not to mention, the debacle that would be editorial oversight.... Finding a publisher... Deadlines...
My mother has been pestering me for YEARS to get my writings published, and for awhile I thought I wanted that. But as it is now, I really just kind of... don’t.
I’d probably have to delete my fanfics to be able to legally share my Original World Conversions with a copyright stamp. And I don’t really want to do that. /o.o\ I LIKE being a part of a fanfiction community, and I LIKE that the people reading my stories already understand Raven on a level where I don’t have to explain Why Having a Half-Sister By Father throws her off balance for a WEEK.
Maybe when I have a lot more free time and a better grasp on escalation, I’ll consider publishing. But not right now.
So yeah, I’m with Lotte on this one.
(I won’t lie, I have some CRITICISMS for my fandoms’ canons, but I know I legitimately can’t write it better myself. Trust me, I tried.)
#rhs writing#rhs lwa#little witch academia#it takes me 4-8 years to publish a chapter as an adult anyways. Granted they're BIG chapters! They have BIG plot points!#But that speed is not one that ANY publisher is going to accept from me.#Except maybe Llewellyn but I have no desire to publish through them thank you.

LWA was the first anime I watched and became really attached to back in high school. There's a lot I could say as an intro to it (I highly recommend the OVA film and The Enchanted Parade Film, both are some of the most perfect short anime films [spot the MLP reference in the OVA!]. The main anime series is pretty good but is mostly no-plot shenanigans), but I wanna highlight the designs of background characters as an appeal for you to check it out. Because by god, the crew really cared about developing a fun, diverse cast of students that actually captures teenage girlhood pretty well.
Here's a cool fact: every student in the background of the anime has a name, nationality, and personality (and possibly backstory and relationships). A lot of love went into designing each individual student, and 90% of them have no speaking roles or major screen-time.
This is only half of the student body too. More under the cut.
Some students of note:
Aisha, a Middle Eastern student who wears a hijab (and a niqab in some concept material).
There's actually also a female teacher who wears a niqab, but she's unnamed and only a background character.
(In fact, all the teachers in this line-up only appear in backgrounds, yet look how crazy and inventive their designs are!)
It'd take too long to list/show BIPOC students; there are African students (Wangari, a side character and school reporter, from Kenya), BIPOC students from the UK, Latina students from South America. There are these twins from India (Rajani and Rashmi) who're both very protective of their smaller, shier roommate and will often argue over how to better care for her.
There's a great amount of diversity in facial structures, nose sizes, heights, and body types that you just don't see in anime. Stocky builds, large foreheads, double chins. And traditionally "unattractive" character designs are not designed to reflect bad qualities. Alma (1) from Austria is insecure about her flaws and enjoys talking, sometimes a bit too much. Verochka (2) from Russia is constantly paranoid about everything going wrong, yet manages to be friendly to everyone. None of this is relevant to/used in the actual anime, but it's there and it's fun.
In regards to the main cast, there's a girl from Russia named Jasminka who's unapologetically fat and loves to eat and it's never questioned and everyone is friends with her. There's also Amanda, an American tomboy who's canonically butch and crossdresses as a man to sneak into a boy's school (the LWA game also reveals that one of Akko's bullies, Hannah, has a crush on crossdressing Amanda. The game also reveals Amanda's crossdressed on multiple occasions before). There's Constanze, a nonverbal girl from Germany who loves mechanical engineering and hacking game consoles.
Not to mention our main protagonist, Akko, who's very clearly neurodivergent and commentary on how schools treat ND students. Akko is a non-magical girl who desperately wants to become a witch. She enrolls in the elitist magic academy Luna Nova despite having no magical lineage and is afforded zero accommodations or sympathy. She is constantly belittled and bullied by faculty and peers for being lazy, stupid, incapable, and untalented when in reality, she is working twice as hard as everyone else to get a barely-passing grade. We see her fall into the oh-so-relatable loop of staying up late and sacrificing free time to study, only to fall asleep in class and wind up with even worse grades. Luckily, she finds a teacher who truly advocates for her, and it's so satisfying seeing her earn magical powers on her own terms. Even more satisfying seeing her snooty aristocrat rival, Diana, realize that she was wrong about Akko this whole time and being a bully. (No exaggeration when I say they were the original Lumity.)
Akko is also a Marxist who becomes her school custodial staff's labor union chief secretary in striking and negotiating for fair pay.
At the risk of sounding preachy or assuming too much about the crew, this is what happens when you truly care about a world and its presentation. You make good characters –– even unimportant ones –– who become good reflections of real people and identities. You can tell the designers hoped that each background character would be someone's favorite. And it's genuinely nice to see an anime create a cast of teenage girls who are actual teenage girls, with interests in sports or films or gardening and both positive and negative personality quirks. And again, 90% of them exist as only set dressing. Yet they took the time to make each one a real character.
If you're craving good modern-fantasy magic school media with original concepts, a great art direction, and fun characters, check out LWA.
Reminiscing about Little Witch Academia.
#btw i don't want people to check lwa out expecting the show to be about all this representation. the characters here are mostly to flesh out#the world. but it's still really cool discovering that EVERYONE you see comes from somewhere and is a genuinely interesting character#i've also never really seen an anime give rep to women who wear hijabs/niqabs. let alone in a school setting#again i highly recommend the lwa ova film and then enchanted parade. both have truly fantastic animation and painted backgrounds AND#a really wonderful orchestral soundtrack. enchanted parade especially is great. still one of my top anime movies#unfortunate thing about the anime is due to deadlines or budget the art and animation of s2 has a big dropoff in quality#reblog#personal#rant#long post#honestly a lot of lwa feels like a direct retort to harry potter#the protag isn't a rich chosen one but a regular non-magical girl who works hard to become a witch#the magical school is incredibly hostile towards her with professors constantly arguing to expel her over bad grades#the human world knows about magic and witches and there's a lot of politics about their interacting and history#there's an episode magical gnome custodial staff wanting fair compensation and the protag not only gives a shit about them but#becomes radicalized and fights the school for them in solidarity

Do you ever wanna know more of Akko's backstory? We just know a small portion of her backstory but what else happened in her childhood? She has many autistic traits and adhd traits so she's most likely neurodivergent but there was a panel in the Manga of Akko being made fun of by kids so how did she interact with other kids? Was she bullied her whole childhood? (Edited b/c I worded this post very wrong)

Family AU
I’ve been thinking about this all day and I gotta share
So Diana and Akko eventually have two kids, by using a widely popular spell that lets one parent bare a child that is biologically both of theirs (the spell was created due to the rampant lesbianism within the witch community lol) Diana carries their first child, a little boy named Darien(idk I’m still not sure about his name) who is a sweet little boy who looks a lot like Diana, but has akkos eyes, he wants to pursue medical magic like Diana, but he’s also a bundle of energy who wants to make everyone smile (part of why he wants to be a healer, he likes the big smiles he puts on his friends faces when he fixes their scraped knees), as he gets older he ends up towering over both his moms, he’s just this big dude who looks intimidating as hell, but is actually a teddy Bear Akko has their second child about 4 years later; a little girl named Bernadette (after Diana’s mother 😭) and she is the spitting image of Akko, to the point that when she started at Luna nova Finnelan almost had a heart attack when she saw her (then she almost had another one when found out she was also Diana’s daughter) but despite her appearance she is incredibly soft spoken, and would like nothing more then to go through school unnoticed, but despite not having the golden locks, her last name makes that impossible
I have a bunch of other ideas about the others kids but I’ll make separate posts for that lol

Opinions on:
Sucy
Ursula/Chariot
Constanze
Diana
and Lotte? :0!!?
Sucy was really funny, little mushroom gremlin. I thought it was cute how at first she was basically like "leave me alone" and thought Akko was reckless and stupid, and over time even though that opinion didn't change, she grew to care about and believe in Akko too. Also the Sucyland episode was hysterical.
I didn't figure out until the fountain episode who Ursula was but when I did I seriously went "holy shit they've implied it from the start." That is Akko's mom. She is Akko's mom first and idol second and I think that's beautiful. Also?? Her design??? So pretty. Like, all-around.
Constanze was SO funky, little inventor kid. Her design kinda stuck out from the rest in a good way, I think it was the nose and eyebrows. Her inventions were so neat and seeing the ship she built was so?? frickin cool???? I kinda wish we'd gotten a little more on her backstory, but I liked that Akko was able to help her in the end.
I think I could write an essay about Diana but I have to get this out now: her design is SO Professor Layton vibes and she looks like a lot of fun to draw. Rivals to lovers friends arc is always absolute gold but I like how even from the start she didn't actively make fun of Akko, instead criticized her for her actual faults and even then didn't do that often. Also it's really sweet how clear it is Hannah and Barbara care about her, you can tell she's a good friend even before Akko truly gets to her.
Lotte was sO cute oh my gosh I wanna be her friend. I wanna sit with her while she rambles about Nightfall. She's so supportive and sweet and I think if it weren't for her lending Akko a hand at the beginning the show probably would never have started. And her specialization being talking to spirits but the spirits being little wispy creatures!! Too cute!!!
yeah this is good show i very enjoyed :)

Little Witch academia theories
Since now there's the possibility of an upcoming Lwa season I thought it was the perfect time to share this theory I've had for a long time, along with what I think the upcoming season could be about, possible episode ideas and… maybe future villains. And as I’m rewatching this show , I developed this theory that I had for a long time and even came up with ideas for the new season and what it could be about.Let's speculate!!
My main theory is about Croix Meridies and how she could possibly be related to the Hanbridge family.
This might be me over analysing things, but after seeing someone on Tumblr point out to how similar Andrew and Croix's eyes are, I believe they are connected in some way, but the creators didn't have time to develop on that. Especially in how in ep 24, there was put a strong emphasis on both of their eyes. In a scene that was supposed to parallel their reactions.Especially in a show like Lwa, where all the important characters have unique eye shapes that match their personality, having two important characters have the same eye shape and the same eye color raises some questions.
And this is not the only evidence I have to Croix being related to the Hanbridge family. In episode 19, Andrew even states that him and Diana are sort of related. And now on to the Paul Hanbridge part, it would be weird for a man who claims to dislike magic so much to be related to witches. So, what if his wife was a witch, because I think there's a reason we never saw Andrew's mother, and even though we don't see all of the characters parents and flashback moments in this show, Andrew's backstory seems to be pretty important and his father is always present throughout the story.
And for a father that is so strict it raises some questions that his mother is absent. So what if his mother is… dead, and what if her death had to do something with witchcraft, possibly being a reason why Paul hates witchcraft and forced his son to have the same opinions , thinking magic is a dead practice, and his hatred seems too personal to be political in the first place.
Another interesting factor is how Paul's hatred for witches seems to be different from Blackwell's hatred for witches. Whereas Paul's reasons are more justified since he hates the art, not the artist and thinks magic and witches are outdated and have no place in the modern age, Blackwell holds this opinion out of pure bigotry.
And as much as he hates witches, Paul still tries to keep a good relation with them, even if trying to "keep his enemies in debt"
as he says in ep 6 and he seems to have had a good relation with witches and Luna Nova for a long time. So something must have happened along the way for him to hate witches and that something may involve… his wife. What if witches or witchcraft were involved in his wife's death.
And this gets us to the important part of the theory, Croix and how she could possibly be Paul's daughter. What if Andrew isn't the only child Paul has, and this theory is plausible since Croix is around 28 years old,(she graduated in 2007, the anime takes place somewhere around 2017)
and Paul seems to be around his middle or late 50s, basically old enough to be her father. Another piece of evidence I have to that is how there not anything known about Croix's past before she joined Luna Nova, and despite her achievements and the fact that she was described as a "magic prodigy" she was also described as timid and reserved during high-school days, and back then she wasn't as confident and over the top villainous as she is today, her stance being much more distant and reserved, compared to Chariot, who was much more extroverted, even a bit of a show of, always surrounded by people.
She seemed as if she was hiding from something… or someone. What if Croix ran away from home in order to pursue witchcraft, since Paul could have been just as strict about witchcraft to her as he is to Andrew.
And it would make Andrew and Paul's connection to the Chariot and Croix storyline deeper and better, since even the magic shop owner was more relevant to the plot than those two at this point, and they acted as spectators in the second half of the story. Another interesting factor is how Paul constantly says that magic is dead ,obsolete and not necessarily in modern times, while Croix's main motivation is to prove that this exact thing is wrong and that magic is still useful by fusing it with science. And think about it for a second, the damage Croix's monsters did, how Croix fueling the protests for her experiments almost sparked into ww3, all of these things affect the government, which Paul is a part of. Her villain plan might have also been a revenge plan at her father, for being an awful parental figure.
On top of that, neither Andrew or Paul ever directly interacted with Croix or even saw her, and all of the important characters saw Croix and interacted with her, except those two. And at the end of episode 25, right after Croix was arrested and left the scene, Andrew appeared, almost as if the creators didn't want the two characters to interact just yet.
And knowing that Andrew and Diana are cousins, this would also make Croix be part of the Cavendish family, Meridies being possibly a fake name she took to distance herself from both of the well known powerful families. Andrew and Diana often parallel each other in the show, and Croix and her relationship to Chariot is also supposed to be a foil to Akko and her relationship with Diana. Therefore Andrew and Croix were supposed to be a foil to each other, Croix kind of showing Andrew what can happen if he quietly held a grudge against his father and not standing up to him at the right time for two long until he eventually could snap and do the same thing as Croix. Her story of being misunderstood, missguided, filled with jealousy could serve as a cautionary tail.
And Croix being Paul’s daughter would also make sense given her overambitious personality and her constant need of validation from others , including Profesor Woodward and desire to be on top.All of these factors could have easily shaped her into the sort of person that despite having good intentions doesn't have the best ways of achieving them , often putting others in danger to do so.Her being Paul’s daughter would also make sense of why she is jealous of Chariot , since Chariot not only has the shiny rod , but also support from others and appreciation .
A reason my theory could work is how Andrew was originally supposed to be Akko’s love interest , but the creator of the show , Yoh Yoshinari scrapped that sconcept at the request of staff and voice actor , he ended up making Akko a “girl who’s not interested in boys” , so Andrew needed a new purpose in the story , and maybe him discovering Croix is his sister and potentially also becoming a wizard could be those purposes , since they already been kinda set up.
But this theory also raises some questions .How did Andrew’s mother die?Is Andrew a wizard?Did he know he had an older sister? These could be interesting themes to explore in the potential upcoming season .Other things that would be cool to see in this potential season what happened after the missile, Croix redemption arc, my theory becoming cannon and Croix and Chariot having to deal with the mistakes they made, how Akko feels about all of these, and more stuff with the nine new witches, are they considered like superheroes, are they famous now??
Now , onto what the upcoming season could potentially be about :
- As I stated in my theory , Croix and Andrew having to deal with the fact that they are siblings
-Croix redemption arc , maybe more development with her relationship with Ursula/Chariot
-Maybe another episode focused on nightfall , maybe Akko using a spell to make the Nightfall characters real for Lotte’s birthday.
-More flashbacks about Chariot and Croix’s years as Luna Nova students
-Lore behind the golden age of magic and the nine new witches
-New villains
-Return of the shiny rod , but in a unique way
-Maybe the stories could deal with Arthurian Mythos via Appleton Academy
-Male Wizards , maybe more episodes with Andrew and Frank
-More action scenes and serious moments
-The preparation for the spring festival mentioned at the end of episode 25
-More references to other pieces of media (maybe more kingsman , marvel and star wars references as well…)
I should go in depth with some of these aspects :
1.For example , even after episode 25 showed everyone cheering for the 7 witches, they were happy and cheering because otherwise the missile would have killed everyone. They now are happy that they are saved by the witches , and possibly entering a new age of magic , but what if somehow , it is discover that it was because of Croix’s magic that the missile attack almost happened in the first place. How would they react knowing a single witch was capable of such a feast.Especially how would the politicians react.Because at the end of episode 25,Paul was willing to learn more about Andrew’s opinions about witchcraft and even be open to it .But maybe after he finds out the truth about the missile attack, his hatred for witchcraft is even more reinforced , maybe ruining all the progress Andrew has been trying to make in teaching his father about magic ,for him to hate it even more now.Maybe it would even push him to become a villain in the show.
2.Another idea for a villain in the upcoming season I theorize about is Daryl , Diana’s aunt , even though she was kinda redeemed by the end of the season , she is a strange figure , possibly using dark magic , maybe after Diana became head of the Cavendish family , Daryl does not agree with some of Diana’s ways of improving the Cavendish family title and returns to villany , maybe serving as a possible introduction to dark magic (Like she literally can go through walls and has a snake as a pet AND HER EYES GLOW RED)
3.After rewatching episode 17 (Amanda O’Neill and the holy grail) I came up with this silly idea for a plotline , what if that episode wasn't just about an epic fight scene and showing us Croix’s first experiment test , but set up something even more interesting.Even if the title of the episode is a reference to “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” , in the Arturian legend of the holy grail it is Galahad the knight who is chosen to find the Holy Grail. Galahad, in both the Lancelot-Grail cycle and in Malory's retelling, is exalted above all the other knights: he is the one worthy enough to have the Holy Grail revealed to him and to be taken into Heaven , so Galahad is the one to have found the holy grail. And for a first test , Croix’s monster worked quite well , and we also know in Lwa , spirits and ghosts exist and they tend to attach themselves to objects. And if Croix’s pixels were in the grail before Louis broke it , why didn't they start working yet.My theory is that Galahad’s ghost was attached to the Holy Grail and the cubes only powered the ghost up , making it able to separate form the grail ,but decided to stay still until Louis broke the grail , pissing the ghost of Galahad off and thus punishing Louis by possessing a nearby knight armor along with Blackwell himself, combining both into a violent berserker. After Amanda destroyed the armor she could’ve weakened the ghost of Galahad , thus everything instantly went back to normal , but what if the ghost started regaining strength , adjusting to life not being attached to the grail , but planning to stroke again , to punish Louis and the other students of Appleton for ruining the reputation of the school with their hatred for witches .Appleton academy could possibly have lore connected to Arthurian legend to it , with how much they hold the importance of tradition , duels , and gentleman like behaviour , almost knight-like.Maybe the next season could have a plotline that involves stopping the Ghost of Galahad.
4.Last but not least , even after the shiny rod vanished in episode 25 , i think there is a way for it to return without ruining the impact it had in the show. There are seven words of arcturus , and seven of the Luna Nova students are part of the nine new witches , right ?So since the rod became a constellation at the end of the show , seven of those stars could be the seven words , so what if each of the seven words materializes as weapon of their own on earth and each of the seven witches(Akko ,Diana, Lotte,Sucy, Amanda , Constanze , Jasminka) get one of the seven words that became weapons .Because even if the rod disappeared , it came to Akko’s help in a different way , since even if the quest to bringing a new age of magic is far from complete.

That reminded me of this image. It’s Akcroix!
Beat me, use me, tear me apart. I don’t mind one bit.
I live for angst... plus delinquent Akko is hot.
