Salvation Brings Change
Preached at Riverview Baptist at mid-week services
Photo by Mark Ellsworth on Unsplash Proverbs 11:5-8 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness. 6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness. 7 When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth. 8 The righteous is delivered out…

Divine Election
Election is a biblical teaching that every serious student of the Bible must address at some time. It addresses issues related to God’s sovereignty and human volition, predestination and foreknowledge, sin and salvation, justice and mercy, love and faith. Election is a difficult doctrine to fully understand, and when discussing it with others, it’s always best to keep an attitude of love and…

thoughts on "tradwives" as a 19th-century social historian
It's great until it's not.
It's great until he develops an addiction and starts spending all the money on it.
It's great until you realize he's abusive and hid it long enough to get you totally in his power (happened to my great-great-aunt Irene).
It's great until he gets injured and can't work anymore.
It's great until he dies and your options are "learn a marketable skill fast" or "marry the first eligible man you can find."
It's great until he wants child #7 and your body just can't take another pregnancy, but you can't leave or risk desertion because he's your meal ticket.
It's great until he tries to make you run a brothel as a get-rich-quick scheme and deserts you when you refuse, leaving your sisters to desperately fundraise so your house doesn't get foreclosed on (happened to my great-great-aunt Mamie).
It's great until you want to leave but you can't. It's great until you want to do something else with your life but you can't. It's great. Until. It's. Not.
I won't lie to you and say nobody was ever happy that way. Plenty of women have been, and part of feminism is acknowledging that women have the right to choose that sort of life if they want to.
But flinging yourself into it wholeheartedly with no sort of safety net whatsoever, especially in a period where it's EXTREMELY easy for him to leave you- as it should be; no-fault divorce saves lives -is naive at best and dangerous at worst.
Have your own means of support. Keep your own bank account; we fought hard enough to be allowed them. Gods willing, you never need that safety net, but too many women have suffered because they needed it and it wasn't there.

Have you drawn Vittorio before? I'd like to see what he looks like pls.
Tumblr media
Vittorio's design has given me more trouble than I expected, I'm still not sure if I'm happy with his looks. He's Machete's trusted personal secretary, a small and modest but resourceful and resilient man. I think he's somewhere in his mid 20's.

[source (Senior Reporter at Kotaku), linked Kotaku article, two, 'FC 24's performance link', three, four, @/N7SeveranceDay (source of the last two images, "Account supporting BioWare employees laid off in 2023."), five, six, Polygon tweet, Polygon article]
"BioWare Continues to Refuse to Pay Severance" statement transcript:
“BioWare Continues to Refuse to Pay Severance On August 23 of this year, BioWare eliminated “approximately 50 roles at BioWare”. Following the layoffs, seven ex-BioWare employees engaged the services of R. Alex Kennedy to represent their interests, stating that the amount of severance offered was insufficient under Alberta common law. Counsel for the employees has attempted to reach a compromise that would avoid requiring lengthy court proceedings, but BioWare’s lawyers refused any offers to negotiate and settle out of court. The basis of Kennedy’s claim is that according to Alberta precedents and under Canadian law, these employees should be receiving approximately 1.7 months of severance per year of service they gave to BioWare. BioWare has now filed a Statement of Defence, which argues that the seven terminated employees are only entitled to two weeks of severance per year spent in service to BioWare, because of a contract provision that Kennedy says is not enforceable. The filing means BioWare will be taking these former employees to court rather than working towards finding an out of court resolution. The developers involved in the suit have expressed their disappointment: - “We are disappointed that BioWare prefers stalling and intimidation tactics to fair dealing with people who have given years, and in some cases decades, of dedication and hard work to the company.” - “We believe they are using intimidation and stalling tactics to try and get us to drop out. A lot of the more junior employees and those with families, who had more monetary pressure on them, could not risk waiting on a court case that may take many months more to resolve, and have already had to drop out.” - “At the time of the layoffs, BioWare offered us professional assistance in finding new employment, and an additional payment, but ONLY on the condition that we signed an agreement saying we cannot talk about any details of the settlement, and that we would completely waive any right to legal action or even to complain in any way about anyone associated with BioWare now or ever in the future. Tactics like that sure make me think that BioWare knows it is in the wrong.” - “Despite what they publicly announced when they laid us off, this process has been anything but empathetic, respectful, and communicative.” The latest BioWare layoffs were the third round so far this year, and many of the developers affected even in earlier rounds are still searching for work, though some have started to find new positions. Regardless of employment status, the members of the current lawsuit state they remain determined to pursue BioWare in court, regardless of their employment status: - “We strongly believe that if Dragon Age: Dreadwolf does not do as well as BioWare or EA wants at launch, there will be more, even larger layoffs. Therefore, regardless of our own well-being, we believe it is important to hold BioWare responsible and get a clear decision on what settlement amount is legal. We’re no longer part of the development team, so the best way we can help our former teammates now is to hold BioWare accountable and ensure that the next group who is laid off are not treated as poorly as we were.” November 7th marks “N7 Day”, which is a fan celebration of BioWare’s Mass Effect games featuring Commander Shepard and the crew of the Normandy. The developers involved in the lawsuit are hoping N7 Day this year will be a reminder to BioWare of the importance of loyalty to your crew, and hope fans can have a little fun and help express their support with memes and images using an #N7SeveranceDay hashtag. The ex-employees involved in the suit are all based in Canada and have an average of 14 years at BioWare.”

A Revolution of Lies
The sexual revolution was started by a child predator and quack named Alfred Kinsey. Everything it held to was a lie, meant to serve to the benefit of rich and powerful men.
The sexual revolution promoted the idea that young men were not morally or ethically responsible for what they did with their male parts and how they touched other people until (maybe) their eighteenth birthday. This is a lie. The age of accountability is a lie. Nobody’s moral responsibility is dependent on how many times any floating rock has spun around any ball of fire since their birth. This lie was promoted so that the sons of rich and powerful men could touch their teachers or their fathers’ subordinates inappropriately and get away with it because “they’re not 18 yet.”
The sexual revolution promoted the idea that men could be “sexually assaulted” by women. This is a lie. Newspeak is a lie. The denial of human sexual dimorphism is a lie. It was promoted because sexual violence is the only category of violent crime whose victims were primarily women in every region of the world, and in every period of human history for which remotely reliable records exist. Sexual violence is committed often by rich men, at rates substantially higher than armed robbery or even (provable) murder, so the redefinition of this term serves to bring attention away from them, and allows for false accusations against women.
The sexual revolution promoted the idea that women’s worth is found in which and how many men they give their bodies to. This is a lie. Any conception of a person’s worth as something that can be granted or revoked by any person, thing, or force in our temporal plane is a lie. This lie was promoted so that women would give their bodies to rich and powerful men.
The sexual revolution promoted the that fetishism is healthy. This is a lie. Fantasy, particularly in adults, and the sanitization of self-harm and assault are lies. They were promoted so that the rich and powerful men who, during the time of the sexual revolution, would have had greater access to pornography could find partners without feeling shame for their niche interests, apart from which they had difficulty remaining erect.
The sexual revolution conceptualized the marriage contract like a business contract. This is a lie. Any chain of a spouse’s decisions that eventually leads to a divorce is a lie, including those of at-fault divorces. It was promoted so that rich and powerful men could dispose of women and children they saw as financial liabilities.
Neither the US nor any culture the sexual revolution has spread to has children at replacement levels apart from immigration. People who reject it have more children than those who embrace it, but the ideological descendants of the sexual revolutionaries have control of the public school system in many countries, including the US. Eventually, however, every culture that currently promotes the ideals of the sexual revolution will have to reject these principals or go extinct.

I'm so sorry Lucanis lovers but some of y'all are just not doing him justice in fanfiction.
You cannot look at a man like Lucanis and tell me that he's some kind of naturally talented sex god. Some fanfics show him spontaneously shaking off his awkwardness and anxiety all to be suddenly be able to blow Rook's mind, and he is simply not capable of that.
Let him fumble!! Let him be awkward and make mistakes, it's honestly better and more true to his character that way!!
