Love thy neighbor.
Cherish thy neighbor.
Tolerate thy neighbor.
Peacefully coexist with thy neighbor.
Fuck thy neighbor? No, wait, not that one.
It’s murder thy neighbor. That was the phrase you were looking for.
Murder thy neighbor so gruesomely that you’d leave no trace behind. Murder him and bury him somewhere no one could ever find him, so that even in millions of years from now when some other highly advanced mammalian species overtakes the planet and embarks on journeys to acquire fossils, thy neighbor will still never grace the atmospheric oxygen of the earth ever again. It’s the punishment he’d deserve for thoroughly pissing you off at the worst times possible and in the worst ways possible. The smallest of prices to pay.
“SATORU!!!” you yell, storming up the sudsy driveway of your next-door neighbor’s house at eight in the morning, clad in your dirty scrubs from the hell of a night shift you just endured working at the hospital, glass containers inside the lunchbox you were holding hitting painfully against the poor joint in your knee but you just don’t care. Anger is all you can see right now.
Your neighbor (derogatory) stands there in his pajamas with a spray nozzle in his hands, passively spraying water across the top surface of his car, and when he sees you, he pulls his left airpod out of his ear and looks you up and down once. You’re pretty sure there’s steam coming out of your ears. “Uh, do you mind? I’m trying to wash my car.”
“How many fucking times do I have to tell you not to park your stupid boat in front of my driveway?!” you yell at him, voice hoarse and nails digging into the skin of your palms by the clench of your fists.
“Hm?” he leans back a little to glance past you to his boat. “Oh, you mean my 2023 Boston Whaler 220 Dauntless with low profile bow rail welded stainless steel, Mercury FourStroke hydraulic power steering and, not to mention, a platinum gelcoat hull? That silly old thing? It’s not even parked in front of your driveway.”
“Yes. It is. Are you blind? I can’t move my car into my garage, hence why it’s running idle on the fucking street right now. Your boat’s on my property.”
“No, it’s not.”
“Yes. It is.”
“Nuh-uh.”
“Uh. Yuh-huh.”
“Honey. I’m a real estate agent. You don’t think I’d know where my own property line starts and ends?”
“Park. It. On. Your. Drive. Way.”
“I spent a lot of money on that boat,” he sighs, “I intend to show it off on the street. Stop acting like there isn’t more than enough room for your tiny prius. It’s not my fault you have the motor skills of a toddler and don’t know how to pull into a driveway,” he pauses for a second and tilts his head upwards in thought, “Oh. Motor skills, haha, get it? Fuck, that’s funny. Hold on, I gotta jot that down,” he pulls his phone out of the pocket of his cotton plaid pajama pants, “my niece would love that. She gets all giggly about puns these days. It’s her birthday next weekend, by the way, turning five.”
“Oh, right,” you scratch the top of your head (been too busy to wash your hair), and realize the ponytail you threw your hair up into at the beginning of your shift last night is now barely hanging on for dear life, “I forgot to tell you, but my cousin said he can’t rent that pony out for her birthday party anymore. Apparently it died.”
He stares at you. “Oh.”
“Yeah.”
“Damn.”
“Mm.”
He shrugs. “That’s fine, thanks anyway,” he swipes up on his phone, “they had crazy hair day at my niece’s elementary school yesterday, wanna see a picture?”
“Sure.”
He turns his phone to show you. “My sister let her cut her hair a little shorter this time since she wouldn’t stop asking. I guess all her friends at school were cutting theirs short too so they wanted to be matching.”
“Aww,” you pout with a small smile when you see the picture, “I think it suits her. That’s a lot of glitter though, y’know that stuff’s really bad for the environment.”
“Yeah,” he agrees, turning his phone screen back to face him, “anyway. I was halfway convinced you just came from some crazy hair day when I saw you stomp up my driveway just now.”
“I’m gonna guillotine your head off with the trunk door of my car. Now move your boat.”
“Hold on one sec,” he says, holding a finger right up to your face, and you flinch backwards slightly before going cross-eyed to stare at it, and then you’re glaring at him again. His phone is ringing in his hand. “I gotta take this.”
“Wha–” you try to interrupt him, but he just says shhh and shakes his finger in front of you, which makes you want to bite it off.
“Hi, Donna!” he exclaims into his phone, “so good to hear from you. Oh, no, not at all, you caught me at the perfect time. I’m just washing my car. Nah, you’re not interrupting anything.”
The urge to smack him consumes you.
“Oh okay, cool, I’m glad you took some time to think about it. Let me know when you want to meet again, if you’re still interested in the house, we can make an offer. Uh huh. Yeah. Sorry, what’s that? Oh,” he pulls his phone from his ear to look at the time, “yeah, that’s fine. Is that the one on 6th street? Sure, I’ll see you then. By the way, how was little Tommy’s soccer game yesterday?...Aw, that’s okay, he’ll get the next one. Hm? Yeah, what’s up? Oh, you know that I’d love to, and there’s no one that enjoys your green bean casserole more than I do, but I’m actually busy tonight! I know! Bummer! Maybe some other time? Alright. Yeah, thanks, you too. Take care. Bye.” He presses the end call on his phone, and there’s an awkward silence as he narrows his eyes at the screen in concentration for a moment while typing something onto it, and then the corner of his eye catches sight of something in his periphery, that something being you, and he jumps a little.
“Oh fuck,” he places a hand on his chest and exhales, “I didn’t know you were still standing there.”
“I’m seriously going to whack you across the face with my lunch box right now.”
“That gigantic industrial lunch box you carry around for your 12-hour shifts?” he points at your hand, “you’d have blood on your hands. I’d be dead.”
“Yeah, that’s the goal, idiot.”
“You’re so fucking violent, jeez, I bet the inside of your head looks like the inside of Jeffrey Dahmer’s. How do you sleep at night?”
“With fifteen milligrams of melatonin, blackout curtains, a satin sleeping mask, and in the mornings.”
“...that didn’t make you sound like any less of a serial killer.”
“Whatever, at least I don’t have a complex for elderly divorced women. You know that what you do for work isn’t any better than prostitution, right?”
“Okay. Now I have to hear where you’re going with this.”
You cross your arms across your chest, and your gigantic industrial sized lunch box with the millions of glass containers inside of it hits your hip painfully, enough to warrant a wince, but you keep a straight face as to not show any weakness. “You flirt with vulnerable women who have just gotten out of probably extremely heartbreaking marriages from their cheating country golf club husbands, and pretend to care about all their drama, just so that they’d buy a house from you. I literally heard you say to a lady the other day,” and you do your absolute best to mock him in the most insulting way possible, “‘it’s okay Lorraine. If you’re still struggling to fill your new house with someone new too, then you know where to find me.’”
“Yeah. She wanted to rent out her guest bedroom. I was gonna help her look for tenants.”
“O-Oh,” you stutter, but stand up straighter, “doesn’t matter. You still pimp yourself out for a sale.”
“So what if I do? I’m hot, why wouldn’t I take advantage of that? You could’ve done the same thing too, but you didn’t, and now you’re stuck working miserable nursing shifts that are probably taking years off of your lifespan.”
“You’re the one taking years off of my lifespan. Now move your fucking boat.”
He sighs and slips his phone back into his pocket before walking past you to your car, that still had the driver’s side door open and was idle in the middle of the street.
“W-Where are you going?” you ask.
“I’m gonna park your car in your garage for you,” he says, waving his hand up in the air dismissively because he knows you’re about to protest, and then he ducks his head into your car, reaching his arm in for the lever that moves the seat backwards, and adjusts it all the way back before he’s able to take a seat at the wheel. And your yelling is a pestering he pays no mind to as he shuts the door.
“Wait– I didn’t give you permission to–” you shout as you step into your driveway, holding your arms out because you’re scared he’s gonna chip off your side mirror on the stern of his boat, but he deftly pulls your car into the driveway. He also almost runs you over in the process.
When he gets out of your car inside your garage, you storm right up to him and yank your car keys out of his hand. “You almost flattened me over my own driveway.”
“Well, you shouldn’t have been standing there,” he easily retorts and leans against your car before crossing his arms over his chest. “Also, case proven, there’s more than enough space to pull your car in. You’re just piss poor at parking.”
“I swear to fucking god. If you’re ever in a life-threatening emergency and wind up at my hospital, your emergency isn’t going to be the thing that kills you, it’s gonna be the cocktail of deadly meds I inject straight into your veins. And I’ll have it charted like it was a death of natural causes.”
His brow furrows and he frowns, but it’s in that sarcastic way that tells you he’s not threatened by you, and the idea of using the taser in your purse on him is briefly entertained in your mind, “I’ve got Kaiser, hun,” he says, “I wouldn’t go to just any regional hospital for healthcare. Put some damn decorum on my name, Jesus.”
“How is it you’re stupid, an asshole, have a sick fetish for elderly women, and also somehow classist at the same time? Can you pick a struggle please?”
“Stop saying I have a fetish for elderly women,” he hisses at you, “especially with that loud obnoxious voice of yours. Our neighbors are gonna think I’m a creep.” He pretends to shiver.
“But it’s true. I bet you lost your virginity to a fifty-year-old cougar the day you turned eighteen. And to one that was probably grooming you even before then, too.”
His eyes widen. “Damn. How’d you know.”
“That you’re a victim?” you ask, tone derisive, “your entire personality is living proof. Please seek help.”
He rolls his eyes. “I was never groomed, and I didn’t lose my virginity to an elderly woman,” he corrects you, “...although said woman was a little older than me.”
“I’ve literally got no fucking interest in this conversation anymore. Get the fuck out of my garage,” you practically spat at him, “the last thing I need to deal with after getting off of a 12-hour night shift is coming home to your stupid face out on the street.” You push past him, making sure to nudge him with your shoulder but he hardly budges, and you lose balance from your own attack, and now you’re doubly pissed off before you make it to the door with your keys jingling in your hand to find the right one to unlock it.
“Good night,” he calls out to you, and you click the button on the garage door so that it starts closing, and watch him as he panics before ducking his head underneath it to make it outside before you can essentially lock him to rot inside of your garage, and then you shut the door behind you, finally inside the comfort of your home.
Ah. Silence.
But it was never a comfortable one.
“Mom?” you call out as you open the door out of the laundry room to make it into the living room, and your eyes scan the floor. You don’t see her in the kitchen, or on the couch in front of the TV, sometimes she spends time in the pantry room but she’s not in there today. You round the corner over to where the front entrance of the house is, and you see her standing there, peering out of the window to the other houses on the streets. She holds her hands loosely behind her back, and she’s so still she could be a statue.
“Hey,” you say to her, softly, so as not to startle her. “I’m home.”
She looks over her shoulder at you, and you realize her line of sight was set to next door, where you see Gojo has resumed the wash of his car. “Why are you yelling at that sweet boy across the lawn?” she asks you, “he helped me fix the air conditioning last week.”
Your eyes widen slightly, but then you sigh. Typical Gojo getting involved where he should really just mind his own business. “I’m pretty sure by fix you mean he just pressed a bunch of buttons on the thermostat until it started working again.”
She doesn’t respond as she continues to stare out onto the street, tilting her head slightly while deep in thought, like she’s trying to make sense of what she sees.
“Mom,” you gently tug her sleeve, “I think you should get away from the window and get some rest. You look tired, and I need to take you for chemo in the afternoon.”
She gently pulls her elbow away from your grip of her sleeve and turns to look at you. “Mom?” she repeats after you, “why are you calling me ‘mom’? Who are you?”
Your blood runs cold from her words, but you dont have the time or the luxury to react in the way that you want to, and so you suck in a deep breath. It was one of those days. But it’s cruel that she’ll remember your neighbor and not her own daughter. “I’m your daughter,” you gently reintroduce yourself, to the woman who gave you life, “I know that might be a little weird to hear right now.”
“No…” she says, “I think that makes sense. I’m sorry, dear, I think I have a bad memory these days.” She looks at you with concentration, studying the features of your face. “My daughter, yes. You look…oh, dear, you look like you should sleep.”
You nod slowly, releasing the breath you were holding. “Yes. You too, mom.”
You place your gigantic industrial lunch box on the kitchen counter, and come back to hold your mom’s hands as you lead her to her bedroom downstairs. By the time you fix her a small meal in the kitchen, bring it to her and make her eat so she can take her pills, she’s ready to take a small nap and you know that you’ve earned some sleep now too.
The upstairs master bathroom beckons you the second you get upstairs, and even though you’ve been using the master bedroom & bathroom in this house ever since moving your mom downstairs four years ago since she had trouble getting up the stairs, it still feels odd to stand in front of the sink without a stool underneath your feet, like what you had to when you were a kid and your mother would braid your hair. You’re a grown woman now, and as you stare at your reflection, you’re not sure if you can recognize yourself anymore. But rather than dwell on if it was because of any profound reason, you figured you just needed a shower and to get some sleep before you have to wake up again in five hours. Exhaustion is evident on your face, and you swipe under your eyes to get the smudge of mascara off before it tattoos your skin forever.
Hot water on your skin does little to help your drowsiness, but at least now you feel clean of your shift, and then you remember there are blood stains on your shoes from the stab wound patient that rolled in at 2AM last night, and you should really let them soak for a few hours while you sleep, but you just can’t bother right now. Instead, you slip into something comfortable, draw your curtains back to mimic the dead of night in your room as best as you can, grab the bottle of melatonin sitting at your nightstand and pop a few tablets, feeling feverish as you slip into your sheets. You pull the comforter up over your eyes, a decision that is less ideal than using a sleeping mask since you’ll be breathing your own carbon dioxide until you fall asleep now, but it’s okay. It’s cozy under your blanket. Just this once. And you count sheep to make you sleepy. At least until the melatonin beats you to it.
—
“You’re looking better,” Dr. Johnson says to your mother as he accesses the port on her chest, “were you able to get a good rest?”
Your mother nods and points to you. “My daughter made me take a nap.”
“That’s good,” he coos, “it’s good to get rest before chemo. Your daughter really cares about you.”
“I know,” your mother smiles up at you, “I’m so lucky.” You return her smile with one of your own.
Dr. Johnson starts to push the line of chemo into your mother’s port as she sits on the chair in the treatment lounge, and then stands up from his rolling chair before the nurse quickly moves to twiddle with the drip of the IV bag.
“Ready for consult?” he asks you.
You grip your binder to your chest. “Yeah.”
You walk into the doctor’s office, one you’ve more than familiarized yourself with over the past couple of years, then take a seat across from Dr. Johnson’s desk as he clicks through his computer before handing you a copy of your mother’s recent lab work.
“Her tumor markers are rising,” you say as you sift through the papers.
“They are, we’ll likely switch to monitoring them every four weeks going forward. But it’s okay, not to worry,” he says, “tumor markers can raise for all sorts of reasons unrelated to cancer.”
“She had a cold last week,” you say, “maybe it’s the inflammation?”
Dr. Johnson lets out a small laugh. “I’m sorry, y/n, sometimes I forget you’re a nurse.” He hums to himself as he pens down something on the notepad in front of him. “When was your mother’s last PET/CT scan?”
“It was in February,” you say, “she’s due soon. I was going to ask if you could order one for her.”
“Yes, I will, I’ll do it right now,” he says as he types something into the computer. “You still have the standing orders for her routine lab work, correct? Do my MAs need to send you the scripts?”
“No, that’s okay, I got them already. Good for six months,” you reassure him.
“Alright, perfect.”
There’s an awkward silence that settles in the room as you shift in your seat with the binder in your lap, full of all of your mother’s medical information and emergency department discharge packets and recent lab work and imaging. You mess with the plastic cover on top of it nervously.
“It’s good she remembers you today,” Dr. Johnson comments, “I remember last week you were upset she didn’t.”
“Oh,” you say, “yeah, I’m sorry. Sometimes it’s hard.”
His eyes leave his computer screen for a second to look at you. “Are you doing alright?”
You nod slowly. You had to be alright, you had no other choice. “I’m fine, thanks,” you say, “um, actually, doc, I just wanted to share with you that I’ve been keeping track of my mom’s Alzheimer’s progression.” You open your binder in your lap, pulling out a packet of papers and placing them on his desk, turning some of them towards him but he doesn’t really spare a proper enough look. “I’ve just been noticing she’s progressively worsening a bit faster than her neurologist had projected.”
“Okay,” he says, sounding curt, and that nervousness comes back. But goddammit, you’re a nurse, you know how to deal with stubborn doctors. And it’s for your mother. There was no one else left to advocate for her except you.
“I was just wondering if we could also order a brain MRI for her?” you ask, “just to rule out anything…her brain fog has been bad, worse than usual, and I’m just really worried about metastasis, especially if it’s a glioma, I’d just want to catch it as soon as possible.”
You have sympathy for oncologists, really, you do. They must deal with paranoid family members all the time, but how could someone blame another for wanting what’s best for their loved one? You don’t think that’s an empathy that anyone should ever lose, regardless of how long you’ve been practicing medicine.
He sighs. “There’s no indication for that right now, not with her response to treatment as well as her lab work. I’d suggest we just wait on her next PET/CT results, and we can go from there. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, okay?”
“I know,” you say, “but her next scan isn’t for another couple weeks, plus the week it’ll take to have it read, it’ll be far out, so…if we could just order it now?”
He interlocks his fingers and places his hands in front of him on the desk, looking at you with a stern face, but he glances down at the paperwork you’ve sprawled in front of him with scribblings of all the detailed notes you’ve been taking of your mom’s responses to her Alzheimer’s treatments, with time stamps and descriptions of her mental state, and his furrowed brow relaxes slightly. He breathes in deep. “Alright. Fine, I’ll order one. I highly doubt we’ll find anything, though. But since there’s no clear clinical impression warranting a brain MRI right now,” he mentions as he directs his attention back to his computer, “I don’t think insurance will cover it for you with the diagnoses I put in.”
“That’s okay,” you quickly respond, “I’ll pay for it.”
You collect your imaging orders from the medical assistants at the center of the oncology floor. The chemo nurse, Mai, informs you that your mother still has about two hours left before her treatment is done, and she gently suggests you go eat something while you wait. You tell her it’s okay, that you want to wait with her, but she tells you the hospital cafeteria is serving tater tots today for tater tot tuesday, and those tater tots are to die for. But before you go downstairs to the cafeteria, you find a few minutes to cry in a one stall bathroom.
—
“God damn,” you hear your coworker, Hana, dreamily sigh as she leans on the handle on your standing mobile nursing work desk, and you trail her line of sight to the tight asses of the EMT men that walk by while rolling a stretcher. “It’s like being hot is a part of their job requirement.”
“Uh-huh,” you agree mindlessly as you try to catch up on charting for the rounds you just ran on your patients around the emergency department beds.
4/20/2024 0200: patient notified of the importance of taking ibuprofen. Attempted to give pt the medication. Pt responded “suck on this, bitch”, gestured to his general groin area, then threw ibuprofen tablets at RN. pt upset and requests narcotics instead. Informed MD of pt’s behavior and request. MD will not order narcotic pain medication at this time. Will continue to monitor
“How’s your mom doing?” Hana says, interrupting your typing as she turns to face you now.
“She’s okay,” you say, continuing to punch keys as you stare at your monitor, “she has a PET/CT soon. It’s always nerve wracking when the next scan is coming up.”
“Have you given hospice any more thought?” she asks.
You stop typing and stare blankly ahead at your screen as your heart sinks a little. You have given hospice more thought, and you came to the decision about a week ago that you would go through with it. It’s becoming so increasingly difficult taking care of your mom at home, more than you can manage with all of her doctor’s appointments, radiation appointments, chemotherapy appointments, all of which happen during the late mornings or early afternoons so you can’t even properly rest on most days that you come home from night shifts. Even though you only work three shifts a week, you can’t remember the last time you got a full, uninterrupted eight hours of sleep because of how messed up your circardian rhythm has become. You were practically a walking zombie, and you hardly felt like a person anymore. You’re not going to switch to the day shift, because that would make it difficult to take your mom to her appointments, and also because you get paid extra with the night shift differential, and above all other necessities, what you really needed right now the most was money. Forget the fact you’re still in debt from nursing school, but you co-signed on the medical loans your mother had taken out for treatments, and five years of high acuity medical bills was a living nightmare. And you were living that nightmare.
“I did,” you say, “I’ve been looking into hospices, but a lot of them are further away than I’d like.” You glance down at your keyboard. “I…I’m going to miss having my mom home. Even though it’s hard to deal with her mood swings and stuff sometimes, I just think the house would feel really empty without her.”
“Aw, my dear,” Hana sighs and rubs her hand up and down your arm soothingly, “I’m sure you’d love to have her home, but I think it’s becoming too much for you. I say this with love and care, but I can’t remember the last time I saw you genuinely smile.”
Your eyes widen slightly from her words, and you release some of the tension in your shoulders, tension you didn’t even realize you were holding onto during this conversation.
“It’s too much for just one person,” she continues, “while I understand you want to spend more time with your mom, the quality of time you’re spending with her could be so much better if you had some weight lifted off your shoulders, where you’re not worrying about her medication schedule or doctor’s appointments or blood draws and all that.”
You nod slowly and manage to give her a small smile, then place your hand over hers that was still soothing over your arm. “Thanks, Hana. I know, I appreciate you looking out for me. I…I think I’ll look more seriously into hospices. It’s just they’re really expensive, too, so I have that to consider as well.”
“Hmm,” she withdraws her hand from you and juts her bottom lip out as she looks up at fluorescent emergency department lighting. You hear a patient cough in the distance as your senses take in the ambient environment once again. “Y’know, there’s this really great new hospice in town that functions as a general facility and also helps manage a lot of chronic diseases too. They have nurses there that do blood draws and everything, and they also transport patients to their affiliated hospital for treatments, like dialysis and chemo and stuff. My friend’s mom has breast cancer and was recently accepted into that hospice,” she tells you, pulling her phone out and looking through some of her messages, “I think it’s only a fifteen minute drive from your house.”
You tilt your head at her with interest, wondering why it didn’t come up on your provider search through insurance, but regardless, it sounded too good to be true. “It’s probably really expensive. My mom’s under the state insurance right now, but I’ve explored government insurance plans too and they’re still really pricey. I just can’t afford it, not with all of her cancer treatments, and adding her under my insurance isn’t really going to be any better either.”
She groans. “I know. What’s with our healthcare plan? You’d think as a hospital, they’d choose better plans for their employees,” she sighs, and then stops to read some of the messages on her phone, “but my friend said that her husband was able to add her mom as a dependant, and his insurance covers 90% of it. I’m sure it depends on the illness, but they only pay a few thousand per month out of pocket.”
You blink at her. “Really? T-That’s insane…do you know what insurance her husband has?”
“I’m pretty sure it’s a Kaiser facility.”
“Oh,” you sigh, “well, they wouldn’t accept state insurance. That’s a private HMO.”
“Shoot,” Hana looks at you apologetically, “I’m so sorry, love, I forgot about that. Sorry to get your hopes up.”
“That’s okay,” you smile at her, “thanks for trying. I’m glad it worked out for your friend, at least.”
Hana glances at her watch and realizes her break is over, so she heads back to her side of the emergency department, and you’re left standing at the nursing station with thoughts running through your head now, and still catastrophically behind on charting.
Hmm.
Kaiser.
You swear someone mentioned that to you recently.
Or maybe you were just remembering another one of those ads you see on television at night. No, no, you’re pretty sure it came up in conversation with someone, but you can’t remember when or why or what or where or who. Hmmmmm. Kaiser, Kaiser, Kaiser.
Nope. Nothing.
Oh well, maybe it’ll hit you later.
—
It hits you in the form of an intrusive memory when you wake up on a Thursday afternoon in a cold sweat after having a hallucinogenic melatonin dream where you were getting chased by a giant rabbit (don’t ask).
Kaiser.
Gojo said he has Kaiser insurance.
And the idea that comes into your head after that is so ridiculous, so absurd, so positively bonkers that you have to slap the sleepiness off your face for a second to make sure you’re still not in some dream state of living, and the harsh sting on your cheek proves that you’re not. And the idea still persists. And now you’re swinging your legs over the edge of your bed, and grabbing your laptop, and opening it, and inputting your pin, and then spending a good three hours researching if this little idea of yours actually has any good level of merit to it, if it could even succeed, if it was even legal? You even find yourself on the phone with insurance representatives, and you stare at the tens of thousands of dollars of debt on your Excel spreadsheet where you keep track of your finances, and you feel the exhaustion in your bones, and you also remember how fucking annoying Gojo is. And yet still, the idea persists.
And when the pieces of the plan start to unfortunately fall into place, you say, fuck it. What was worse than potentially getting into six figures of debt? It’ll be fine.
But you can only hope he says yes.

[reading commercial break]
hello!! this is ellie, the author. so sorry to interrupt, there is still a bit left for this chapter, but i just wanted to jump in here real quick to explain for some of my readers that may not be american so they may understand reader’s desperation to financially cover the costs of her mother’s healthcare bills. this story is set in suburban america lol, where the healthcare system is so messed up honestly, and this excerpt from the book the body by bill bryson kinda explains:
“Where America really differs from other countries is in the colossal costs of its health care. An angiogram, a survey by The New York Times found, costs an average of $914 in the United States, but only $35 in Canada. Insulin costs about six times as much in America as it does in Europe. The average hip replacement costs $40,364 in America, almost six times the cost in Spain, while an MRI scan in the United States is, at $1,121, four times more than in the Netherlands. The entire system is notoriously unwieldy and cost-heavy.” p360; “...America spends more on health care than any other nation–two and a half times more per person than the average for all other developed nations of the world. One-fifth of all the money Americans earn–$10,209 a year for every citizen, $3.2 trillion altogether–is spent on health care.” p359
unfortunately, a lot of how much you end up spending at the end of the day, depends significantly on the health insurance that you have. it could make the difference of spending a few hundreds to a few thousands to a few tens of thousands and beyond, just based on the insurance plan, even if the illnesses/treatments are exactly the same.
but yeah, just wanted to provide that context lol!! so you must understand reader’s desperation to save a buck!!!
ok back to regularly scheduled broadcasting!! 🧚♀️💕✨

—
You’re sitting at a table outside your favorite cafe in town, leg bouncing up and down underneath the surface impatiently and nervously, and you glance at the time on your phone for the fifth time within the past five minutes because you’re unable to alleviate any of the anxiety you’re experiencing right now. You hear the jingling of the cafe door behind you and then you’re a little startled when someone emerges in your periphery by your side.
You look up and see Gojo standing next to you, and you see he already went inside and grabbed a coffee to-go for himself.
“Hey,” he greets you.
“Hi,” you say with a small wave.
He takes a seat across from you. “What did you want to talk about?” he asks while he settles in and smooths down the fabric of his suit jacket. He’s not wearing a tie, and has a couple of the top buttons of his shirt undone to reveal some of the skin at his collarbone. Probably to seduce the divorced single moms, you think. “And if you called me here to try and convince me for the millionth time to pitch in for that fence you built six months ago, I’m just gonna say no again. I didn’t even want that fence built in the first place. It fucked up the roots on my avocado tree.”
“It’s a joint fence. Neighbors usually pitch in for that kind of stuff, asshole. At least normal neighbors do. You know I talked shit about you to everyone in the neighborhood when you refused to pay and all of them agree that you’re being a stuck-up prick about it?”
“You know that I also talked shit about you to everyone in the neighborhood and they said the same exact thing about you?”
“Wha–” you gasp, blinking a few times from the betrayal, then mutter “...those two-faced bitches” under your breath.
“So,” he pulls his sleeve back to glance at his watch, “what did you want? I’ve only got thirty minutes to talk before I need to head to an open house.” He brings his cup of coffee to his lips.
“Oh. Right. Just a favor,” you say, “I was wondering if you could marry me.”
He almost spits out his coffee.
“E-Excuse me?” he croaks out, exasperated, and he’s coughing a little bit as he hits his chest with a fist to alleviate the irritation in his throat from some hot coffee that went down the wrong pipe.
“I mean, if it’s not an issue, I’d really appreciate it if you could marry me,” you attempt to clarify, but you realize you probably should’ve thought a little more about how you were going to ask him this, and now you’re too deep to backtrack, so you just hope you’ll find the conversation along the way.
He’s looking at you like you’ve got six heads, brow furrowed and mouth hanging open slightly with that what the fuck? face you see him wear sometimes. But then he sits up a bit straighter, expression morphing into a curious one as he studies your face, head tilting a little in his scrutinization. Then, his face relaxes entirely. He has this knowing look as he nods up and down slowly, like he just figured something out, and then he sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose in some type of faux frustration. And you don’t understand why you’re already seethingly angry about what he’s going to say next.
“Oh god,” he sighs, “I knew this day would come.”
“Huh?” you squeak out.
“Listen,” he says as he crosses his arms, but one of his hands comes out from where it was tucked in his elbow to waive around in the air as he articulates his words, “I know that I’m very charming, and handsome, and chivalrous, one might say the modern knight in shining armor–”
“Satoru.”
“–and yes, I’ve seen the way you look at me,” he dramatically sighs, “when I’m taking the groceries up the driveway…when I’m out mowing the lawn…when I stretch on the sidewalk before I go for a run. I feel your eyes on me like a hawk. Quite frankly, you look at me like I’m a piece of meat, and I feel very violated by it sometimes–”
“What the fuck are you talking about???”
“But I get it. Really, I do. There’s no need to be embarrassed about it–”
“I’m not embar–”
“It was really only a matter of time before you would do this. So overcome by your feelings for me that you just had to go against the grain of centuries of matrimonial standards and swallow your gigantic pride to propose to me.”
“Oh my god, what the fuck are you saying–”
“But,” he says, collecting himself now, and taking in a deep breath, “my answer is no. I mean, I shouldn’t have to explain why. But I will. First of all, where the hell is my ring? Secondly, why aren’t you on one knee in front of me right now? Also, in a cafe? Really? I thought you would’ve known I’d have liked something a little bit more romantic than this. Y’know, private, but also where my family’s somewhere around the corner. Maybe by the beach–”
“Can you stop talkin–”
“–while the sun is setting, and I’m wearing a nice dress, and there’s bubbles in the air and rose petals on the sand, and you tell me how enamored you’ve always been of me, and how you can’t wait to spend the rest of your life with me,” he indulgently sighs, “I mean, it’s every guy’s dream. But nooooo, of course you’ve got no taste or sense for romance in any capac–”
“OH MY FUCKING GOD, FORGET THIS,” you stand up out of your chair, fast enough to where it almost falls backwards, and you grab your purse to sling over your shoulder, “I cannot believe I actually thought this plan would ever fucking work.” You’re about to walk away from the table, because you’re realigned with the wisdom of exactly why you can’t stand this man, when his hand reaches out quickly to grasp onto your wrist, to keep you still, and you jump a little from the contact. You look down, his hand unrelenting in its grip as his knuckles flex slightly, and you’re not sure if he’s ever touched you from how foreign the sensation feels.
“Wait,” he says, and when you look at him, his eyes are a little wide like a puppy, “you’re being serious?”
You yank your wrist out of his grip, but the warmth of his touch still lingers, and you wrap your own hand around it to distract yourself from it. “Why would I just ask you to marry me out of nowhere if I wasn’t being serious?”
He gives you a look like the answer to your question is obvious. “Uh, to fuck with me?”
You’re still holding onto your wrist, protectively pressing it against your chest with your back turned away from him slightly, and you look up at the sky for a brief second. Hm, perhaps you could have brought the favor up a bit better, and you realize it might’ve sounded insane on his end, and you’re also still thinking about the tens of thousands of dollars you could save if he said yes, and so you hesitantly open your body language up to him again.
“Just sit,” he sighs.
You take a seat across from him again, hands finding the warm coffee cup in front of you and you purse your lips together before tucking your bottom lip under your front teeth. You take a deep breath before speaking again. “I…I’m being serious. I was wondering if you could marry me as a favor, and not because I think you’re some type of irresistible man candy, god, where do you get your gigantic ego from?”
“I–”
“Rhetorical question, shut it.”
He blinks at you. “What favor are you asking for that’ll be satisfied by me marrying you?”
You twiddle with your thumbs. “I want to put my mom in hospice,” you say, eyes flickering down slightly because you’re worried you’re about to tear up from the words, but when you realize you’ve got enough conviction not to, you look back up at him, and his eyes on you are a little too observant, “most of the hospices in town are further away than I’d like, and really expensive, but I heard there was a Kaiser one nearby…and that a lot of the costs are covered by insurance. So, if you married me, I could send my mom there. And also, under your insurance, the care network would be better, so I could get her a new oncologist and neurologist, and I’d know she’s being taken care of. And…” you clear your throat, “well, it’ll be a lot less expensive, so I can start to catch up on…well, whatever, you get the picture.”
His eyes narrow at you in thought, and he glances at your hands on the table that are nervously fidgeting, and then his eyes meet yours again. “I’m not sure if you can add a…spouse’s parent to a healthcare plan?”
“You can,” you say, “I already called to ask.”
“Oh.”
“Mhm.”
Gojo hums to himself, laying his palms flat on his thighs and rubbing them back and forth on the taut fabric a few times as he thinks with his gaze set off somewhere in the distance. It seems like he’s running through some algorithm of thoughts in his head, and then he slowly nods to himself when he’s made a decision.
“Sure, I’ll do it,” he says.
“Y-You will?” you ask him. You’re uneasy at how easy it was to convince.
“Yeah. I like your mom. She’s a sweet lady, and I want to see her get better.”
His words touch you. And not from the distance of a ten foot pole like you’d usually allow, but more intimate somehow. And you get the feeling you should thank him, but you’re still pissed off from when he almost ran you over on your own driveway earlier this week.
“Really?” you make sure, almost like you’re hoping he’ll change his mind because now you’re suspicious as to why he agreed so quickly. And you realize he’s already making you paranoid.
“Yeah. I’m saying yes to your proposal, y/n,” he says, “I mean, a marriage is just a legal agreement. Not a big deal. I’d want a prenup though, for obvious reasons. In case you’re a gold digger.”
You roll your eyes. “You’re too cheap to even pitch in for a fucking fence. You think I’d believe you’ve got any gold to dig?”
He sighs. “I said in case.”
“Well, anyways, we can work out logistics and paperwork or whatever later,” you say, and you extend your hand out for him to shake it.
He raises an eyebrow at you. “Um. You’re going to make me shake your hand over this?”
“Yeah,” you shrug, “it’s the diplomatic thing to do.”
“Yes,” he says, “for a diplomatic agreement.”
“Precisely,” you say. “That’s exactly what this is.”
He hesitantly brings his hand up to shake yours, but you quickly withdraw yours at the last second. “Nevermind. I don’t want to touch you.”
“Okay,” he easily accepts, “not how I expected to celebrate getting engaged, but whatever. By the way, when’s the wedding? Are we doing, like, a shotgun destination type vibe? Or something a bit more grand?”
“Just be at the courthouse at noon on Sunday.”
“What?! This weekend? That’s too soon,” he panics, “I need time to pick out a dress, and I need to figure out who my bridesmaids are going to be, and–”
“Satoru. Seriously. Just–...just shut the fuck up. Before the headache that you’ve already given me gets worse.”
You two sit in silence for a moment, him just mindlessly staring at a butterfly that landed on the plant at the center of the table, and you just stare off into the void past him while contemplating every life decision you’ve ever made. But that’s how it always was between you two. As much as you hated to admit it, you were jealous of him in a lot of ways. In every way that you were fucked up, he was nonchalant without a care in the world. You wish you knew what that sort of peace felt like, and you wondered if he could show you. Maybe someday when he doesn’t piss you off.
“So,” he interrupts your thoughts, “are you gonna take my last name?”
“Fuck no, I’d rather die.”
“Alright, jeez, I was just asking.”

Who is Tim Walz?
Kamala Harris has apparently picked Tim Walz as her running mate. He seems good, based on his record. He's also responsible for the widely spreading "Republicans are weird" meme I've seen quite a lot of.
He has a good record. Just like I did for Kamala Harris in a post that has become quite popular, I will do a simple review of things I like from Tim Walz' political history. Again, as with Harris, this is just from his Wikipedia page. Let's go!
House of Representatives
Opposed increasing troop numbers in Iraq
Co-sponsored a bill to raise Minnesota's minimum wage
Voted for stem cell research
Voted to allow Medicare to negotiate pharmaceutical prices
Voted against the act to Prohibit Federally Funded Abortion Services
Voted to advance the ACA
Has received a 100% rating from many progressive organizations like Planned Parenthood and the ACLU
Was a member of several caucuses, including the LGBT Equality Caucus
Governor of Minnesota
Signed into law police reforms after the murder of George Floyd
Had Minnesota join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, meaning that all of the state's electors will vote for whichever candidate wins the popular vote nation-wide.
Under his governance, Minnesota passed laws for requiring paid leave, banning non-compete agreements, cannabis legalization, abortion rights, universal free school meals,
Political stances
Pro cannabis
Against bailout bills that loan taxpayer money to large banks and auto manufacturers
Was a former teacher for many years, and is very pro-education and supporting public schools. He is against merit pay for teachers (this is a good thing), and supports lowering tuition costs
Used to be pro-gun, but after Parkland he changed his mind, and as Governor he signed a bill mandating universal background checks
Pro-LGBT - has voted for LGBT rights many times, including as Governor, where he signed bills banning conversion therapy and protecting gender-affirming care
Supports veterans rights and support
Supports abortion rights and women's rights
I am going to copy-paste the entire section for his views on the Israel-Hamas war, because I don't want people claiming I am taking anything out of context. Overall, he has views that echo my own in many ways:
Walz condemned Hamas's October 7 attacks in Israel and ordered flags to be lowered to half mast in the following days. After the 2024 Minnesota Democratic presidential primary, in which 19% of voters cast "uncommitted" ballots, Walz took a sympathetic view toward those doing so to protest President Biden's handling of the war in Gaza, calling them "civically engaged". Of the protests against U.S. funding of the war in Gaza, Walz said: "This issue is a humanitarian crisis. They have every right to be heard... These folks are asking for a change in course, they're asking for more pressure to be put on… You can hold competing things: that Israel has the right to defend itself, and the atrocities of October 7 are unacceptable, but Palestinian civilians being caught in this… has got to end." Walz also said he supports a ceasefire in Gaza.[100]

‧₊˚ piercer!ron weasley x reader ‧₊˚
so anyway this has been on my mind since i got my nipples pierced specifically bc of the way i was moaning like a lil bitch in the piercer’s chair 🙂↕️🙂↕️🙂↕️
content → piercer!ron, needles, nipple play, voyeurism, slight pain kink, praise, nipple piercings, blood mention, lightheadedness, 18+ BLOG MDNI

you’re anxious as you walk into the shop, but you know you have to do this. it’s been years upon years since you’ve wanted this specific piercing—ever since you turned eighteen to be exact. you called on one of your breaks at work, asking if the tattoo shop did nipple piercings.
the kind lady connected you with the shop’s piercer—who to your surprise was a man with an english accent. after telling you the price, he asks specifically for cash. when you see the exact cash amount in your wallet, you figure it’s a sign. anytime that you plan in advance for any kind of piercing or tattoo, you lose the confidence of going nearly the day of—so it’s now or never.
when you walk in, a girl with bright pink hair looks around to see if anyone was available for a walk in. most of them were half asleep, and you feel bad for waking them up from their naps—but they don’t seem to mind. you’re surprised that they aren’t busy on a saturday evening, but a brunette man with round glasses stands and stumbled to the desk, ready to ask what tattoo you have in mind.
“um… hi… i called earlier um a-about… about nipple piercings” you stammer shyly, unable to hide the blush growing on your cheeks.
he wasn’t overly muscular or large, his small amount of tummy pudge peeking out as he stretched his arms high above his head, revealing more ink lining his torso.
“oh!” the man nods as he turns around and walks towards the back. “ron! piercing” you hear a soft grumble and a deep sigh—not of annoyance, but from just waking up. a tall redheaded man with broad shoulders appears. he has sleeves of tattoos lining his arms and some small tattoos on his hands. there was a small stud piercing beneath his eye, a few tattoos on his face as well.
you feel as though your breath is knocked out of your chest as he smiles at you, a small whine leaving his lips as he finishes his deep stretch. “sorry, i just woke up” he chuckles.
“oh no, don’t worry… i’m surprised you guys aren’t more busy tonight” you say, and he nods in agreement as he grabs the papers.
“i know, i was thinking the same thing” he chuckles, grabbing a pen. “i just need you to initial and sign this paper and then i need your id” he tells you, handing the paper and pen over to him. you nod softly and do as he says, passing over your id and scanning over the paper, initialing each line.
it isn’t long before you’re done and he comes back up to the front, leading you to his small section of the tattoo shop. “go ahead and sit right there” he nods, pointing to the tattoo chair as he looks over his tool tray and all that he has. you sit down in the chair, making yourself comfortable as you take your bag off and adjust yourself.
you learn quickly that ron isn’t much of a talker, but thankfully neither are you. he already has his tray set up, asking you a few quick questions as he moves everything over towards you. “so… obviously i don’t have a privacy curtain, i’m sorry about that” he blushes a bit as he finishes washing his hands. “If you just… bare with me a bit” he chuckles nervously.
he looks around his small station, noting that it’s basically out in the open. he’s a sweet man, you learn quickly, so you smile at him. “that’s alright” you reassure him. you wiggle a bit in the seat, still slightly anxious. “i’ll be fine” you nod, more so assuring yourself than him this time.
“go ‘head and take off your shirt, and then if you can just pull down your bra for me” he nods, turning around towards his desk and getting a little care package ready for when you go—wanting to give you at least some semblance of privacy while undressing.
when he turns back around, his cheeks tint pink as he looks first at your boobs then up at you. “you can just turn and face this way” he nods as he rolls over in the small circle chair. you do as he says and face him just as he turns to his tool tray. though he doesn’t have a privacy curtain, he uses his large body and broad shoulders to cover your breasts from the other piercers and the large windows—there were no other patrons in the shop besides you, so this made you feel incredibly at ease. “have you had your nipples pierced before?” he asks.
“no, never” you shake your head. he notices the tremor in your voice and gives you a little reassuring smile. he can tell you’re anxious, and he’s doing everything he can to ease your nerves. “i just have one rule for all my tattoo artists, piercers, nurses… anyone that comes near my body with a needle” you ramble a bit as you list the different occupations.
he chuckles a bit as he nods, grabbing an alcohol wipe to clean your nipples. “what is it?” he hums.
“don’t count.” you say seriously. “i don’t want 1, 2, 3 or 3, 2, 1… if you count i’ll tell you to stop and just go home” you tell him. ron laughs a bit harder, his orange curls bobbing as he nods in understanding.
“alright, i can do that” he nods. “i’m just gonna clean them, and then i’ll mark them and show you, and after that i’ll do the piercing” he informs you, and you’re nodding along with each thing he says. once you’ve gotten the nitty-gritty out of the way, you keep your head down, watching his arms and his body as he works. “do you have a preference of which one you want me to do first?” he asks.
“no” you shake your head. “just go for it” you giggle a bit, and he smiles at you. ron takes a gloved hand, starting with your left tit and gently pinching your nipple between his fingers. he flicks it a few times, his brows pinching together in focus as he plays with your nipple in order to get it hard. you don’t even notice ron has the needle in his hand until you feel it piercing through the sensitive skin.
you suck in air through your teeth, squeezing your hands into fists as you try, but fail, to bite back a whine. “breathe… breathe, it’s okay” ron whispers softly, inching a bit closer to you. “you can squeeze my shoulder if you need to… you won’t mess me up” he says softly. his movements are slow and deliberate, taking time to not mess up your piercing as he pushes the needle through to the other side.
a moan of pain tumbles past your lips once more as you squeeze his shoulder and grit your teeth. “owowowow” you whine, trying your hardest not to squirm or cringe away in pain.
“i know, i’m sorry” he murmurs softly. “you’re doing so good, we’re almost there” he whispers. just as he says that, you feel the needle poke through the other side, and you let out a sigh of relief. your relief is short lived as he pushes the jewelry through the new hole he just made in your body and another high pitched moan tumbles past your lips. “there we go…” he says softly, gently rubbing your side. “i just have to screw this in and then i’ll move on to the other side” he tells you as he grabs the ball end of the jewelry.
the second one is nowhere near as painful as the first—going in much easier as well. however, it still has you making those pretty little sounds on that are making ron’s cock harden as he wonders what other sounds he can pull from you. “that’s it” he praises gently, nearly having to physically restrain himself from placing a kiss to your delicate skin. “you did so good” he hums, beginning to clean the spilling blood.
“thank you” you smile at him as he finishes up, letting you know you can redress and beginning to clean his station. as you pull your bra back up and grab for your shirt, the room begins to spin. you squeeze your eyes shut and take a deep breath, a small smile gracing your lips as you become slightly loopy. “um… can i lay down for a minute?” you giggle softly.
“yeah of course!” he smiles as he turns to look at you. “are you lightheaded?” he asks, walking over to his mini fridge. when you only hum and nod in response, he hands you a capri sun and a pack of scooby-doo fruit snacks. “here… sugar will help” he tells you. he sits in his chair as you pop open the capri sun, now done cleaning. “eat the fruit snacks. all that sugar will help.” he tells you softly when he notices you only drinking the juice.
you nod lazily, squinting your eyes open as you make a small rip in the package. “yanno usually i’m paid to see my tits, not the other way around… and you didn’t even compliment them” you sigh, your head still spinning a bit as you smile lazily. you bite back a giggle when you imagine the blush that you definitely know is coating his cheeks.
his only response is a chuckle, and you think that’s the end of it until you’re checking out and paying him—now ready to actually stand straight and be able to drive your car. as you hand him the money, he gives you a care package, a cute sticker, aftercare instructions, ointment and alcohol wipes, a lollipop, and a blank card with his name and number. “text me a picture when you have the gauze off so i can make sure they look alright… maybe then i’ll compliment them” he winks slyly.
suddenly, you’re the one blushing as you walk out to your car.

How do you meet COD men after your break-up with them ?
Price, Ghost, König, Soap, Alejandro, Gaz, Alex
(Sorry in advance for my mistakes, English is not my mother tongue. So sorry if it's badly written or if they're OOC. )
P R I C E :
-In a waiting room at the hospital with him baring his ass and you in your white coat, that's how you meet after your break-up.
-"I can't believe we're both at the hospital," John sighs in pain.
-"Yeah, I thought this was the trendy coffee shop. Turns out, my navigation skills are terrible," you joke.
-He lets out a small laugh.
-"So how did you end up with your ass burnt, John ? Did you try some sexy wax ?"you ask while you begin to examine him.
-"Do you really need to ask why something is burn ?"
-"Soap ?" you guess.
-Price nods.
-"Shit, I think you have some third degree burns on the right side."
-"Soap wanted to make a firework on the base, to light up the mood of everyone on the base. He tried to test the fireworks before, and I was there at the wrong moment."Price explains while you help him walk towards the surgery room.
-"It must have hurt like hell. Lay down here on your stomach, I'll call my colleague. His specialty is the burns, so you'll be in good hands. Normally your ass will only have scars on the right side."
-"Guess I have the other half to seduce people then." he jokes.
-You smile.
-"You know you have a great ass, John. Don't worry about that."
-"I know, love."
-You both stare at each other when he said the nickname. It has been eight months since you broke up. It was on mutual agreement, because you had a promotion on your job that didn't let you time for a relationship.
-You gulp and nod.
-You leave the room and ask the help of your colleague and continued your job.
-You tried to ignore the tension you had with John when you were talking. You tried to ignore the image of him smiling.
-Hours later when you have finished your duty, you were walking out of the hospital when you noticed John.
-"Someone of the team picks you up ?" you ask.
-"Yes, but they're late."
-You hesitate to wait with him, after all you had nothing to do. But your mind reminds you it would be a bad idea.
-"How's your job ?" Price asks.
-"I...Fine. In fact I was transferred to another service two months ago. So it's calmer and I don't have many 24h shifts now. And you ?"
-"Still busy."
-You nod.
-"I quit smoking." Price says suddenly.
-You raised your eyebrows. Cigars were like Price's identity. Like Spiderman has his mask, Price has his cigars and hats.
-"Why ?" you ask.
-"I know you hate the smell."
-"Oh."
-"I think we made a mistake back then, I wanted to text you but..." Jon starts.
-"But you get your ass burnt and me seeing your naked ass before you could do it."
-He laughed.
-"Yes."
-"So you think we should give us another chance ?"
-"I'm sure. I mean we always managed to find time for us with my busy schedule, so why would it be a bother if you have one too ? Plus you said you were transferred so I guess your schedule is back to normal ?"
-"Yes,"you say.
-"Do you want this, sweetheart ?" Price asks looking at you in the eyes
-"I..."
-"You ?"
-"I missed you," you admit.
-"Me too."
-"And shit, I didn't know what to do when I saw you again, but I'm sure I don't want to give up when eight months later you still make me flustered by just a look."
-John smiles.
-"Then we have another chance."
-You nodded.
-"Yes we have."
-I guess Soap burnt some ass, but also help to light the fire of love.
G H O S T :
-The rain was falling.
-Soldiers were wearing their uniforms, and the silence was omnipresent.
-Nobody dared to move, to speak. Only the sobbings of a widow were heard.
-It was Thomas' funeral.
-Thomas was one of Ghost's men, but also someone you knew as a friend.
-So when you arrived at the funeral, you saw Simon.
-It has been two years since you saw him. After your break-up it was as if you had imagined Ghost.
-There were no traces of him, not even in your shared flat, or in your phone.
-You didn't know what to do now he was here in front of you, so you stayed back.
-You ignored the pain of loss and bitter you were feeling about him and the situation.
-But then he was next to you. Like a shadow who didn't dare to approach you, too scared to burn himself with your lighting presence.
-"Simon," you decided to whisper.
-"Y/n," he answered.
-It was awkward. You didn't know what to do. You were with him during four years, but it was like you were strangers again.
-"I...Had Thomas said something before he died ?" you asked.
-You knew Ghost was the one who found Thomas' corpse on the mission.
-"He talked about his wife. And ask to protect the kid."
-"...I see,"you whispered.
-He didn't add anything else, so you sighed.
-"And you ?"
-"me ?" Ghost asked.
-"Simon, he was one of your men. You have known Thomas for three years, even though you didn't have a bond with him like Soap, I know you're feeling guilty now."
-"I'm guilty."
-You wanted to slap him.
-"Guilty of what, Simon ? You can't save everyone. You can't just sacrifice yourself to save the ones you love. It doesn't work like this."
-"It worked for you."
-"Are you really bringing this up ?"you whispered angrily.
-"You're happier now."
-"No I'm not. I just have tried to live again without you. Shit, you left without any warnings, without...without telling me. I had to guess you were breaking up with me."
-He stayed silent.
-"Simon, say something."
-"Why did you keep pursuing me ?"
-"Why did you let me to ?"you asked.
-"...I couldn't lose you."
-"But you did."
-"I know. But I had told you not to choose me."
-"But I did."
-He stayed silent.
-"And I will always choose you." you added.
-Simon raised his eyebrows.
-"...I screwed up." Simon whispered.
-"You did."
-"It's too late, now," Simon said.
-"It's never too late to make up for it, Simon."
-"It's been two years," Simon added.
-"But I'm here."
-"You deserve better," Simon said.
-"My tastes are shitty, what can I say ?"
-He smiled under his mask.
-"I don't ask a new romantic relationship with you, Simon. I just want to be in your life. I don't care if it's platonic, romantic or something else. Just, let me be here for you."
-"Even though we end up strangers again ?"
-"Yes."
-"You're stubborn."
-"I learned that from my ex," you joked.
-He smiled.
-"Okay," he whispered
-"Okay," you answered.
The next day he texted you.
K Ö N I G :
(/!/TW,chemo mentionned, Implied panic attack, it's not said clearly but it's clearly implied.)
-You were visiting your grandma when you saw König in the building.
-It was awkward, you both pretended to not have recognized each other but now you were both in the lift.
-Well stuck in the lift.
-Because a lift is not supposed to tremble and let out a ringing.
-"I...I think we can stop pretending we don't know each other since we're stuck for at least two hours now," you said while you sat on the floor.
-"I didn't know what to do. I'm sorry," König whispered quickly.
-"Me too, and when you didn't say anything, I thought it was better to stay silent too."
-He nodded.
-"So...you're here for your grandma ?" he asked.
-"yes."
-"Does she still have chemo or ?"
-"No she's in remission. You remembered that ?" you asked surprised
-"Yes, you talked a lot about it."
-You stayed quiet. One of the reasons for the break-up was your feeling of being alone in this relationship. König was always gone and at home it seems like he didn't listen to you, or avoided you a lot.
-You only talked once about your grandma and it was two years ago.
-"I see" you said
-The silence was awkward. But then you heard König's breath rushed.
-You noticed how his eyes were widen and how hard he gripped his own clothes.
-You know what was coming, so you held his hands like you were used to.
-"König, focus on me."
-"I'm sorry."
-"Don't apologize, focus on me and my voice. Everything is okay."
-"We're stuck in an lift. It's not okay. Scheisse."
-"yes it is, I mean it's kinda cozy ?" you tried to joke.
-He snorts.
-"Okay it smells like piss and it's small, but we're alive and breathing." you said.
-"I'm sorry," König said.
-"Don't apologize for being anxious, König. Just focus and breathe slowly."
-You inhale with him slowly.
-He calmed down a bit.
-"I'm sorry," he continued.
-"You don't have to apologize, I told you. It's not your fault the lift is-"
-"Not about this, about us." König said anxiously.
-"Us ?"
-"Yes, I...I was so worried you would leave me if I made a mistake that I ended up to avoid you and, and I couldn't stop and..."
-"And I broke up with you."
-"Yes if had communicated better with you, none of us would be hurt. I'm so sorry." König said, crying.
-"Shh, don't cry. Just focus on my voice and breathe," yousay "Can I ask you a question ?" you asked.
-He nodded.
-" Why are you saying this, now ? It's been three months since we broke up."
-"Because it felt like my last chance. I...I don't believe in fate but being stuck in an lift with you feels like a big coincidence."
-You nodded.
-"yes. I'm sorry too, König. I should have talked before making suppositions. I know you have anxiety, and I didn't consider it."
-"you couldn't have guessed."
-"yes, but I could have waited for you to explain."
-König nodded.
-"Do you feel better ?" you asked.
-"yes, but don't let go my hand, please."
-You nod. You know physical touch helped him a lot.
-"I still have one of your mask at home." you said.
-"I'm sorry I could take it back and-"
-"And my dog refused to let it go. I hide it, but it seems like my dog always finds your mask and sleeps with it like it's a plush."
-König's heart melted. Your dog was a puppy when you started dating him, he helped you with it for two years so of course your dog still feels attached to him.
-"it's cute."
-"I wanted to send you a picture of it, but it didn't feel right. Because I used to do that when we were together. So I didn't know if it was appropriate."
-"It is appropriate." König said, quickly, "I mean, send them please, I miss your dog."
-"okay, I will," you smiled.
-One hour later the lift was fixed, when you came back home you send him a photo of your dog
and...
-One year later, König was on the photo too. Guess your dog and a lift were just what you needed to have another chance.
S O A P :
-Half-naked in a chair.
-That's how you met Soap after your break-up.
-Both of you stared at each other, surprised.
-"I-" you tried to start.
-"I-" he also said.
-"Maybe you can...put your shirt back on ?" you tried.
-"Oh shit, aye. 'm sorry yer colleague says to get ready and..."
-"It's not a striptease club, Soap. She was only talking about your references," you chuckled.
-He smiled.
-You sat on the chair in front of him.
-"Do you still want to do it, even though you know it's me ? I can call a colleague if you prefer."
-"I always have trusted yer art skills. I want ye," He said without hesitation.
-It was true. Back then Soap always supported you when you confessed you wanted to become a tattoo artist.
-"I guess you didn't know who I was. Or perhaps you enjoy being shirtless at your ex's workplace ?" you joked.
-He smiled.
-"Naw, I didnae ken. Plus there's nae picture o' your face on yer Insta. I liked yer work, so I just booked an appointment, I didn't know yer artist name was that," Soap says.
-"yeah" you said. "so, you're here for a cover. I bet you and Gaz made a bet, you were drunk and a creepy tattoo artist accepted to tattoo you ?"
-"Youknow me, well." Soap smiled.
-"How ugly it is ?"
-"I have a portrait of Price on my chest, but it looks like Michael Jackson and under there is written"no pen, no gain.""
-You tried to not laugh.
-"Price ?"
-"It was to show my respect."
-"You can respect someone without having their face tattooed." You laugh.
-"I know, I was drunk and...I regret it. Dae ye think you can do something ?"
-"Well now, I need to look at it."
-"Ye said it was not a striptease club."
-"Guess I was wrong."
-He laughed and put off his shirt.
-You looked at the horrible piece on his right pectorals.
-"Shit, his teeth are stuck to his noses and one eye is like twice the size of the other,"you noticed.
-"I know."
-"But you're lucky."
-"Why ?"
-"Your terrible tattoo artist use light inks, it's easier to cover than a black and white piece. The more the piece is darker, the more it's difficult to cover it."
-"Okay, so ye can do it ?"
-"I can erase Price and no pen, no gain. Yes. Do you have any ideas about your cover ?"
-"You." Soap said.
-You blinked.
-"smooth, Mac Tavish, really smooth."
-"So it's a yes ?"
-"It's a no for me being the tattoo."
-"But ?" Soap smirked.
-"But yes for a coffee."
-He smiled.
-"but before let's erase Price from your body, I don't want to wake up at your side and see him staring at me."
-Soap laughs.
A L E J A N D R O :
(TW /!/, there's some reference about something put in some food)
-You met him in the street at 1 A.M.
-Alejandro had drinks with Los Vaqueros at a bar to celebrate a successful mission. He was going back to his car when he noticed someone who limped.
-He approached this person, maybe they were hurt and...
-"Y/N"
-You looked up.
-Shit.
-"I can explain," you said.
-"Explain why you're limping in a Patrick from Sponge bob in heels ?"
-"...yes ?"
-"Why does it sound like a question ?"
-"Because I don't know, I- It was a friend's birthday and they love Sponge Bob and I saw that on Tik tok. It was fun but..."
-"You sprained your ankle with your heels."
-"yes, but I came on foot."
-Alejandro looked at you.
-"I can drive you."
-"Alejandro, you don't need to. I mean it's already enough awkward and-"
-"I don't want you to hurt yourself, plus it's dangerous for everyone to walk on streets at 1 AM, hurt."
-You knew how Alejandro was serious and stubborn.
-"okay." you said, but Alejandro started to kneel down.
-"Wow, what are you doing ?"
-"Taking off your heels, your ankle is swollen it musts hurt like this."
-You let him do it.
-"I feel like Cinderella," you said.
-"Except you're in Patrick's costume and near to some piss in a street."
-You laughed.
-"I guess you were celebrating." you said pointing at the bar behind you.
-"yes, we finished the mission." he said and quickly looked away.
-This mission.
-The one which made you leave him.
-Alejandro was too absent.
-You tried to accept this, he warned you before you dated but after four years, you couldn't bear it anymore.
-"I see."
-He put your shoes in his backpack and looked at you.
-"I will carry you."
-"You don't need it, Alejandro I can walk." you said while you tried but you only hissed at pain.
-"No, you can't."
-"You can't give me a piggyback ride. You have a backpack and..."
-"Bridal style, it's only the time we reach my car."
-You looked at him hesitant and nodded. Then he carried you. This man didn't have muscles for nothing and you knew it but you were still self-conscious.
-Once you reached his car, he drove to your flat. But when you were supposed to enter to your building, you stayed in the car.
-"Alejandro."
-"Y/N."
-"Thanks for tonight, I know for you it's normal, but not a lot of people would have helped their ex like this."
-"Not a lot of people have amazing exes."
-"You're a smooth talker."
-"I am." He smirked.
-"How's Rudy ?" you asked out of nowhere.
-Alejandro was surprised.
-"Fine, but why do you ask ?"
-"I don't want to go back to my flat."
-"Y/N..."
-"I...I don't know if it's because I'm tired, but shit, I want to cry. Because you met me again like this. But also because I thought I could....I could forget you, but I can't because I know we broke up because of an impulsion. I was upset, yes. Yes you ignored me when I was telling you about your absence. But I never tried to think with you of solutions, I only shouted and I felt bad about it," you said tears in your eyes.
-And Alejandro noticed how your body language was unusual.
-"Did you drink, Y/N ?"
-"No, but I think there was something in the food at the birthday's party," you said.
-"okay, then I'm staying with you to be sure you're okay."
-"thanks. And sorry I shouldn't have vent like this."
-"you're not yourself, it's okay, mi cielo." He said while he carried you at your flat's door then opened it.
-"I missed this," you whispered.
-"Miss what ?"
-"you speaking Spanish. Did you know I subscribe to Duolingo after our first date ?" you said.
-"You never told me that."
-"I wanted to impress you."
-"But you have never spoken Spanish to me."
-"Because I never went more further than unit one on duolingo, I'm shitty at this."
-(sorry if you're fluent or good in Spanish ;)
-He laughed.
-"I could have taught you Spanish." Alejandro smiles while he helped you to remove the pink paint on your face.
-"I never think about it."
-"Because you always want to carry everything." Alejandro whispers.
-"I have to."
-"No."
-"But if I don't, who will ? Nobody will carry me." you answered.
-"I will, I wanted to."
-You stayed quiet.
-"I let the trainings of cadets to Rudy one month ago, I also started some cooperation with another squad so I would have more time."
-"But I broke up with you." you realized.
-"It's okay, you didn't know. I...I wanted to surprise you, but I forgot how much I let you carry for me, how much I relied on you without helping you back."
-Tears were rolling on your cheeks. Alejandro wiped them with his thumbs.
-"I'm sorry, corazon," Alejandro said.
-"Me too."
-"We both need to talk next morning, okay ?"
-"okay" you whispered.
-Then he helped you to go to bed. The next morning he was on your sofa.
-And you talked.
-Maybe some things were unfinished between you.
G A Z :
-You met because Soap is a fanboy.
-Let me explain.
-You and Gaz were high school sweethearts. But after his enlistment you both decided it was better to break up, because with you beginning university and him being in the military you wouldn't have had time for each other.
-And you didn't meet again.
-But years later, Soap invited Gaz and Ghost to a concert.
-Soap had been talking for months about this band he loved.
-He even played the music during missions or on the base.
-He played it to wake everyone up, at one point where Price had banned this music of the base.
-So as a result Gaz and Ghost knew the lyrics and could accompany him to the concert.
-Gaz said 'why not ?' he liked the music.
-But when the concert started, he realized you were the bassist for this band.
-His heart beat faster; the nostalgia was here.
-He knew you played bass, hell he couldn't count how many time he let his head on your lap while you played with a smile.
-"You look like you have seen a ghost." Soap said.
-Ghost snorted. (he only came because he liked the music and because the band's logo was a skull.)
-Gaz gave them a look.
-"You're not funny, but yeah I..I know the bassist."
-Oh boy !
-Gaz should never have told that to Soap.
-Johnny had sparkles in his eyes and was jumping for joy. He begged Gaz to talk to the bodyguards, so they could go to the dressing room and get autographs.
-Gaz tried to explain, but he could barely open his mouth before he found himself standing in front of the guard.
-So when they were in front of the dressing room after the concert, Gaz was sweating. How would you react? It had been years since he saw you. Even though it was on good terms, you both had broken up, he didn't know if you want to meet him again.
-The door opened and...
-"Kyle ?" you asked with a smile.
-Gaz fainted.
-Ghost caught him, and you immediately helped them seat Gaz in a chair in the dressing room.
-"Is he okay ?" you asked Soap.
-"I don't know, it's the first time I've seen him like that. I mean we have seen worst than someone smiling ?" Soap said lost.
-"I'm sorry, it's the stress." Gaz said, "I'm happy to meet you again, Y/N."
-"Yeah, the bodyguard told me you wanted to talk. I was so happy. I mean it's been a while," you smiled.
-"yeah." Gaz answered.
-A silence fell.
-Ghost sighed.
-"Are you both going to let the sexual tension in the room continue or can we know how you both know each other ?" Ghost asked
-You cleared up your throat at the comment.
-"You were high school sweethearts. Our relationship lasted like 2 or 3 years ? But we broke up when Kyle enlisted."
-Soap had a big smirk on his face.
-"Really, high school sweetheart ?" Soap asked
-He was going to tease Gaz on the base about this.
-"Yeah, but it's been awhile. Well, we won't bother you anymore. You played great, and we were just here to congratulate you." Gaz said flustered, he hated to be exposed like this.
-"and to ask if you were free, I mean we love your music and want to know more now we know about your past with Gaz" Soap asked.
-You raised your eyebrows and laughed.
-"Sure, I'm free. I guess you have a lot of embarrassing stories about Gaz."
-"I like you already." Soap smiled.
-Gaz never survived the meeting between you and Soap.
-It was one of his top ten embarrassing moments, after calling Price 'dad' in a meeting with Sheperd.
-But at least he had your number now, years later who knows what could happen.
A L E X :
-You met him at a wedding to arrest him.
-"When we were called for a fight at a wedding, I didn't expect you, Alex. What happened ?" you said while you helped him with his bleeding nose.
-"The bride thought her fiancé who's my friend, was cheating on her with me." Alex said while he furrowed his brows
-"And ?"
-"I wasn't. Leo had coffee on his suit, so I brought him a new one and when she walked on us, she saw him half-naked, and I red-faced because I had run from the shop to the wedding."
-You laughed.
-"She had quite a punch," you said while you looked at his broken nose.
-"Yes, she could compete with Price honestly." Alex sighed.
-You didn't say anything else while your colleagues calmed the bride.
-"I guess you're no longer invited to this wedding anymore," you joked.
-"I guess there won't be a wedding anymore either." he added while he laughed.
-"Do you want to see a doctor, or are you okay ?"
-"I'm okay, it's just nosebleed, nothing I haven't dealt with before."
-"Well I should go now that the situation is fixed."
-"Yeah."
-You began to leave, when he called out your name.
-"Yes ?" you answered.
-"It was...nice to see you again."
-"Yeah"
-"I'll text you once I'm home."
-"Okay."
-You left.
-Alex hurried home as quickly as he could to his home as fast as he can.
-Maybe some things were unfinished, like this wedding.

I want you, I love you (SimonxF!reader)
Here’s one for @glitterypirateduck’s challenge for our big boy Simon! I used 7.”Accidental confession” and 25.”Ghost and reader have to dress up for an event”.
Warning: Language.
Enjoy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He didn’t want to go. He hated going to Galas or really any event where money and politics were being discussed, the big spenders and supporters of the military with their almost carbon copy wives. He hated having to pretend that he cared about what the old men were talking to him about, asking always how many men he’s killed for “the greater good”. Ignoring their salacious wives’ advances to simply walk off to the bar or track down Johnny.
That was before you though. You, who somehow wormed your way into his head and his heart, long since thought cold and dead.
You’d been with the team for 2 years now, seamlessly integrating yourself into their everyday. Formed a fast friendship with Gaz and Johnny, looked to Price for guidance, and never shied away from talking to Ghost himself like you’d known him for ages.
He approved of your snarky attitude and the way you operated on the field, watching his back (and saving his ass a couple times), being able to hold your own in a fight. He still goes back to the day he watched you take down Price, a man twice your size and weight, he’d never been hotter under the collar.
Now as he gazes blankly into the abyss thinking of you, ignoring the droning of the old man and his idiotically annoying wife, he catches sight of deep, sparkling blue fabric. His eyes trailed the fabric up to strings of black pearls clinging to curvy, plush hips. Up higher to more pearls hanging and clinging to a soft stomach and ample breasts, shoulders bare save for a black fur coat.
A low whistle came from his left, Johnny showing up from the corner of his eye. ”Well, never thought I’d see the day we got to see Bonnie all dressed up.” “Don’t even think about it Mactavish.” Johnny chuckled, “Aye not looking to die tonight L.T. Would nae make a move on your woman.”
”Oh are we giving Simon shit about his crush?” “Fuck off Garrick.” Gaz chuckled and patted Simon’s shoulder, “Aw Simon, give it a rest. You’ve been drooling over the bloody woman for the whole 2 years she’s been with us.” Simon looked down before following your figure again, glaring at any man that even dared to approach you, let alone try to flirt with you. You were popular among the male recruits unfortunately.
”Are ye gonna tell ‘er?” “No. Best not to.” The three men shook their heads and rolled their eyes, “Simon, I’m gonna give it to you straight.” “I expect nothing less.” “Stop being a bloody fucking muppet and go talk to that poor woman before you actually lose her to a worse muppet.” He turned to stare at Price in disbelief.
He sighed and rubbed his temples. “Migraine?” He looked up to find you holding out a glass of bourbon to him as you take a sip of your own and sit. He gladly takes the glass, moving his mask to take a sip. “Always luv. Never stops when you’re around idiots all day.” You laughed and shook your head, “Aw Johnny’s not that bad L.T.” “Not talkin ‘bout Johnny sweetheart.” “Mmm, the recruits giving you a hard time?” “Bloody infants. Every single one of ‘em.”
His heart sang with joy at the sound of your full laugh, he tried his hardest not to stare but he couldn’t help it. You were so beautiful. “Hahaha tell me about it. They complain so much about literally everything. Gets annoying havin to hear it day in and day out.” He nods in agreement. The silence stretched on for a bit as you both took sips of your drinks. “Care to dance? You’re the only one I haven’t danced with yet.”
”Don’t dance luv.” “Can’t be any worse than Johnny. He tried to dip me and I almost fell.” Simon chuckled at the image of Johnny doing just that, the image making him grin under the mask. “We don’t have to. Just wanted to dance with someone that didn’t wanna stare at my chest or comment on my body.” “Shameless pigs. You deserve a proper dance then.” He watches you excitedly put your drink down and link your arm with him.
It was then he got a whiff of your perfume, light and delicious with a touch of cinnamon and vanilla. Your arm and hands were warm wrapped around his arm and he puffed up when you subconsciously groped his bicep and laid your head on it.
The two of you danced for a few songs, you leading him slowly. As the last song ended he found your face flushed and hair a bit disheveled. Eyes bright and lovely, smile radiant against your glowing skin. “You’re so beautiful luv. I want you.” ‘Fuck’. Your eyes widened as you looked up into his. “W-what?” Simon sighs, he’s done it now.
”I want you, lovie. I want your body, your smiles, your laughter. Want all your love for myself everyday. I love you.” He watched your face, anxiously waiting for your answer. A smile spread across your features and you giggled, “Took you long enough Simon.” “That mean I can kiss you now?” You nodded, smile wide as he lifted his mask slightly, arm sliding around your waist, a hand at the back of your head.
The kiss was passionate, all consuming, and delicious. Ghost never wanted to part from your lips, but the look of love shining in your eyes made him happy he did. “Wanna get out of here?” “Fuck yes. Tired of these pompous assholes.” Somewhere close by Gaz, Price, and Johnny look on, happy for Simon.
"Captains Daughter" ● Chapter One ●
A/N Heyy!! welcome to the first chapter of my first fic posted on Tumblr!!! I want to thank you in advance for reading my work, please provide criticism and feedback, I would greatly appreciate it :) I want to keep this authors note short so without further ado (ew) heres chapter one!
Word count 954
You strode into the mess hall like you've done many times before. Only this time, you worked here. When you were younger your father, Captain John Price, would bring you up to the base some days. You remembered ogling at the huge Humvee's and armored tanks in the garages, and the rooms full of state of the art weaponry you would see in the video games you had on the xbox your dad had bought you for Christmas one year. Smiling at the memory, you hopped in line to get a bite to eat before your meeting, which immediately followed the allotted time for breakfast.
Steak and eggs were being served today, based on the relatively low level of complaining from the people around you, you assumed it was one of the better meals served on base. As a kid, you never ate on base when your dad would bring you. When you were really young he would go out to McDonalds to get a happy meal for you. As you got older you packed your own lunch.
After you received your meal, you found an open spot at a half filled table. Nodding at those who were already seated there, you settled in at the other end of the table, savoring what would likely be your last bit of alone time for the rest of the day.
Your first day at a new base felt almost like your first day at a new school, you thought as you wandered the corridors trying to find the meeting room your father had told you to report to. You scanned the endless doorways, looking for one labelled "Meeting room 7." Cursing as you passed another one labeled storage, you thought you would be late. Turning another corner in this Labyrinth that was supposed to become your second home, you finally found it. You twisted the handle and stepped into a room with a long wooden table, a whiteboard streaked with poorly erased marker lines, and five men seated around the table.
You were greeted with a beaming smile from your father as you stepped inside and shut the door behind you.
"Gentlemen, this is my daughter Y/N, she has been recently assigned to our unit and will begin training with us and joining us for missions today," your father beamed, proud that the young woman he raised would be joining his team.
You offered a shy wave and a smile to the rest of the room, you studied each of them as they introduced themselves.
"I'm Sergeant Kyle Garrick, but you can call me Gaz, one sporting a ball cap with the British flag imprinted on the front said. he had a light stubble on his chin and above his lip.
"Everyone calls me soap 'round here," The guy with the mohawk grinned, he appeared to be the goofiest out of the group. Next to him was a tall man, face obscured by a skull mask. He leaned back in his chair, arms crossed.
"Ghost, Lieutenant," His thick Manchester accent stated. The exposed portion of his face was unreadable as he looked at you.
"Alejandro Vargas, Colonel, Mexican Special Forces," The last one to introduce himself said with a smile.
"Well, I'm excited to start working alongside you all, and i'm looking forward to getting to know you all," you responded kindly, receiving nods and murmured agreements in return.
The one who called himself soap beckoned you over and patted the seat next to him as your father started yakking about the day's tasks. He grinned as you sat down next to him.
"Price says your a sergeant," he queried.
"I am, and you?" you responded.
"twins," he laughed.
While Price droned on, you and Soap chatted about anything and everything. You half listened to your dad, not wanting to miss important information and have a huge fuck up your first day on the job.
Eventually, Soap gave you the run down on each member of the unit. You learned that him and Gaz were good friends, Alejandro leads another group called Los Vaqueros, and the real name of the scary ghost guy was Simon Riley.
"He's a man of few words at first, well actually he's always a man of few words," Soap corrected himself. "but he's a good guy when you get to know him, he's an excellent soldier too," he continued.
"I don't think he's very fond of me joining," you said.
"Naw, he'll come around eventually, he's just trying to act all tough" Soap insisted.
you hummed, tuning back into the meeting. Towards the end of it, your father mentioned assigning a training partner for you. Task Force 141 was in much more violent territory, with tougher foes. You would need extra help to catch up to the skill level of the rest of the group
"I'd like Ghost to assist Y/N in training," Price finished.
You could see Ghost's brows furrowing from the eye holes in his mask, You could see Ghosts brows furrow from the eye holes in his mask, they were a shade of light blue, almost grey. Other than that, Ghost had no comment about the order. Price dismissed the meeting.
You waited for everyone to clear out before walking up to your dad, he kissed your forehead and smiled at you "Need something kiddo?" He asked.
"Well I can't find where my bunk is for starters," you said sheepishly.
This new base was huge, in your old one everyone slept in barracks. Here, everyone gets their own room.
"Of course kid," He chuckled as you made your way out of the meeting room.
Today, you would settle in. Tomorrow, the real work begins.
POMEGRANATE NOIR— MICHAEL KAISER x FEM READER (Part 1)
A/N: This time, I’m gonna try and do something more spicy ‘cause the hell not lol. This one’s going to have some other parts so if you want me to continue, please tell me so! I really want to hear some feedbacks. Sorry in advance for the typos and wrong grammars, dear crumpets 𝜗𝜚
tags and tw: Enemies with Benefits, Explicit Language, Established relationship, Smut soon, Enemies to Lovers (probably), English is not my first language, tension, Part one of ?
Summary: You and Kaiser go way back before he even got into Bastard München. A family friend in fact though both of them just didn’t get along well. Even in family gatherings, you two could be heard arguing and fighting over small things. Now that they are grown, matured adults— nothing changes except the fact that they would call each other in midst of a crisis. However, help comes with a price.
Having to be called over by Kaiser is not rare but it’s often when night comes. You— wearing the hoodie of the guy you slept with earlier in the morning with the scent of hotel shampoo reeking all over your body while hiding the bite marks you told that guy from the bar to not leave, enters Kaiser’s penthouse. Seeing that only his towel covers his body, you couldn’t help but roll her eyes before lounging down his sofa
"Stop calling me when I’m in the middle of having sex, asshole."
Kaiser's jaw clenches at the smell lingering around you— unintentionally making him frown and grit his teeth. But he's good at masking his annoyance, so he acts as if it didn't bother him at all. Letting out an irritated sigh, he then walked over your direction while ruffling his damp hair with his gaze going over to your hoodie as he sat down on the armchair nearest to you.
"And I don't want you smelling like some random man when you're with me."
He bluntly said, his eyes boring into yours.
"Oh piss off, Kaiser."
How and Why does Kaiser care? You know that you reek of sex and cheap shampoo, you were clearly aware. But for Kaiser to complain? Do you care? No. Obviously. Ruffling his still damp hair, his eyes were like eagles, seeing the fresh marks on your neck. Oh how he can feel his veins throbbing just from the thought of it. Not that you would complain if you would see scratch marks and hickeys on his back with his other whores.
Fixing yourself on the sofa, you then looked at Kaiser who was eyeing on you. Heck, glare should you say. Scrunching your eyebrows together, you couldn’t help but feel a bit ticked off with how Kaiser is acting
"Stop meddling for fuck’s s—"
He leans down, his elbows resting on his thighs. His eyes slowly roam all over you, his annoyance not once leaving his gaze. A low scoff falls from his mouth when you spoke, before he suddenly reached for your feet and pulled you in, making you sit on his lap.
"Finish that sentence, I dare you."
He warned in a low yet commanding tone. The way your hair clings on your face, the marks that pepper your neck—all the small little details he could not take notice of.
Yelping at his sudden actions, Y/N is now sitting on this bastard’s lap. The audacity. These two really don’t get along well despite sleeping with each other like animals in heat. They had no place to even get jealous, they’re just using each other for pleasure. That’s their agreement. Though Kaiser is the one who always breaks their consensus, sometimes you two are too angry to even notice it.
The smell of his shampoo— pomegranate noir, it’s that usual scent you would take a waft of when you meet Kaiser.
It’s the scent he wants to smell when you go out of his penthouse.
And now that you’re sitting on his lap, Kaiser couldn’t help but scoff with the smell of the cheap ass shampoo you used in the hotel you went to. Hearing his challenge, you couldn’t help but lift your chin up before talking in a hissy manner.
"Stop. Meddling. Assh—Ghk! You…!"
And just like that you snapped his already strained control. His expression twisted in a mix of annoyance, anger, and a hint of possessiveness.
He wrapped an arm around your waist, while his other hand roughly grabbed your jaw, forcing you to look at him and meet his gaze. He gritted his teeth, his hand gripping your chin tightly that it will undeniably leave a mark afterwards.
"Keep talking like that and I'll shut that mouth of yours with mine."
He said in a low, threatening tone.
Oh how you fucked up so bad.
One Choice: Fight to Win
Yesterday Israel preempted a potentially disastrous attack by Hezbollah on the center of the country. Thirty minutes before launch time, our aircraft destroyed literally thousands of launchers, rockets, and drones that were aimed at various targets including IDF headquarters in Tel Aviv and sensitive installations in the North.
Despite being an impressive technical and tactical achievement, it does not herald a new, more aggressive Israeli military policy. A column in the Israel Hayom newspaper this morning was titled “Preemptive operation, not preemptive attack,” and that sums it up. The 100 aircraft that were involved were simply a more elaborate and expensive Iron Dome. Admittedly the enemy lost more assets than the rockets and drones it had planned to use; launchers and installations were also destroyed. But the objective of the operation was entirely defensive. Great care was taken to ensure that it would be seen as a “legitimate” response to aggression. Israel waited until just before Hezbollah was expected to fire, and the attack was limited to southern Lebanon. As is always the case when we play pure defense, the enemy has learned lessons and will try again.
It was telling that Israel and the US both indicated that the US knew about it in advance, and that the attack was “fully coordinated” with the US. It’s well known that the US forbids Israel to preemptively attack its enemies, so it was important to present it as limited and “intended to prevent escalation.” But it should be noted that Hezbollah did succeed to launch some 300 weapons at the northern part of Israel, from which tens of thousands of citizens have become refugees. The defensive strike still did not enable them to return home. No purely defensive operation can.
American policy continues to have as its top objective the prevention of escalation. The pressure to reach a cease-fire agreement with Hamas continues at a high level. Although they are often presented as “hostage return” deals, no proposal has been seriously considered that allows more than a minority of the living hostages in the hands of Hamas to return. The Americans have made it clear that they intend for any temporary cease-fire to become permanent, or at least extended; and this implies the continued rule of Hamas and the abandonment of more than half of the hostages.
Israel cannot allow a situation to continue in which large numbers of her citizens from both the northern and southern parts of the country have been driven from their homes and can’t return for fear of rocket attacks and 7 October-style invasions. Essentially, a third of our country has been occupied by our enemies since 7 October. This is the status quo that American-brokered diplomatic “solutions” will perpetuate.
American forces have been sent to the region to prevent escalation by either side while they pursue diplomatic initiatives. But today Israeli deterrence is at its lowest point in years, and any American-brokered compromises with Hamas, Hezbollah, or Iran, will be disastrous to us.
If the Democrats win the US presidency, it’s expected that the pro-Iranian policy begun under Obama will gather steam. The Iranian regime is not sitting idly by, but is galloping toward the finish line in developing its nuclear umbrella. Israel can’t afford to wait and hope for a more friendly administration next January, which may or may not materialize.
Israel lost her way strategically at some point, when her military leadership buckled under American pressure, abandoned Ben Gurion’s philosophy of taking the war to her enemies, and began to fight, as Gadi Taub said, “with a shield but without a sword.” We have paid a huge price for this, and it’s not sustainable. Now we are at the point at which we have no choice but to fight to win.
Even if Carmy didn’t buy 11K worth of dystopian butter, I will never, for a minute, believe that Cicero had Computer draw up that partnership agreement for The Bear in good faith. Thank God Syd did not sign it!
Cicero likes people to be in debt to him, always. He likes people to come beg him like Richie did in Fishes. His house of cards is about to come crashing down. And he’s not going to be able to rope Syd in.
Cicero allies himself with people like Computer, who tried to fire Marcus. We know Computer is trash just for that alone.
I know @gingergofastboatsmojito is going to have some things to say about Cicero. But I just keep thinking about how Syd signed her apartment lease and has been on differed pay and also probably Carmy and Nat as well and the idea came from Computer.
Like, the way Nat and Carmy talk to Syd about signing that partnership agreement just seems like an afterthought to them? And they just accepted what Computer drew up.
They did not talk about it in advance. It all hit their inboxes at the same time. The price of doing business with Cicero.
We know Nat had Pete read it, but did Carmy?!
A few days ago, I re blogged a post describing the intense backlash Adobe is getting for certain policies involving permissions with their cloud services, and posted an article citing these agreements lack of changes until recently - and upon thinking on it for a few days, I AM noticing the apparent lack of transparency, especially since they updated those terms. But the lack of trust for Adobe remains true regardless, and further updates on this matter are far more alarming then the initial read. So, definitely try to find other programs then Adobe's products. I'll likely need to search for something myself. Sadly, I am mostly comfortable with photoshop's features, and clip studio does not work in the way that I like or prefer. I'm a user who likely does not spend as much yearly on a sub, since (and I'm not joking) my uncle does indeed work for Adobe as a programmer, and unfortunately has no clout to stop this higher level lunacy from happening. Though I might pay a smaller price tag, it doesn't change the fact that the price for their programs is astronomical. I'll likely keep using it and other software as I don't have many other options that work the way I'd like them to for my process. However some other options are always nice to look up on. Keep in mind, I am an advanced user, and simple photo manip tools are not going to cut it for painting/drawing/and visual development. I am keeping my eye on a few promising options. Thankfully for Photo manipulation and editing, there is plenty of good and free software to use. Some recs for those who can't just get off the burning Adobe Train - use your firewall to protect you from potential spying from their programs. On Windows, you can change these settings directly within your firewall settings. "No problem.
And for those wondering, on Windows both 10 & 11, go to Control Panel > Windows Defender > Advances Options > Manage Outgoing Connections > Add new rule.
From here you'll enter a wizard menu where you can pick and choose programs to block access to."
(credit to @kevinreijnders.bsky.social for this tip). I also suggest not to use the cloud for your file storage, and I rec getting a different storage device for your art files anyway, as you can take it with you anywhere you go with either an external hard drive, or usb memory stick.
The Future of The Internet: An Intuitive Deep Dive Into The Madness Of Millions
First off: This is gonna be a prediction on such a mass scale. I don't expect anyone to really FULLY pick this up (it is a prediction after all, so it's like throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks). But from what my spirit guides are telling me to do right now, they want me to push this out as far as I can because of the Pluto In Aquarius permanent ingress happens next year. We're all changing for the better and somehow the internet is going to FULLY reflect that. Why am I capitalizing 'fully'? Three of the most mundane planets are influencing this. Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. The icey planets are changing the paradigm soon and it's gonna flip a whole switch on our digital reality. Kind of like a 'whopping us into some sense' type of way. A rough face slap essentially. Or would it be like a baby giraffe who just arrived and has gotta walk on stubbly legs? Who knows. And because of the current state of hateful and aware affairs.... it looks pretty tribal and yet all too liberating at the same time. Without further ado, more below the cut!! ~ <3
HISTORY
Now most aren't really too speculative on where the internet started, but with a little research on hand, there have been speculations that the original basis for the internet and how it was programmed in it's "alpha" form, would be around October 29th, 1969. It was mainly a military owned and insider personnel type thing. Used for the benefit of the government to send messages to its military at a faster rate than normally possible at that time. Doesn't help that if we keep it to the basics of the sun being in scorpio (the personification of what 'underbelly' means), and knowing the ruler of that sign being Pluto (which so happens to be in a mercurial/communicative sign, Virgo), insider communication seems to check out perfectly. Setting the precedent of what's to come.
On closer inspection Pluto sat at the last decan of Virgo. Taurus being its sub-ruler. Which brings its slow-notoriety and slow-growth to the public eye.
Because after over a decade, the internet has its "beta" release because of Xerox's more interactive systems. Networks being more common, has brought more information sharing and an ultimate release for IBM systems. The computer went from a government owned invention, to a technological advancement for business and relaying data on stock prices on January 1st 1983. Very much a business incorporated sign for it to be born in, being Capricorn, we look to its ruler Saturn for extra conformation. Again, more notions of privacy and economy come to the internet. It sits once more in Scorpio. Dealing with the 'underbelly' once again. Taking another chance to look at the ruler of the sign Saturn was sitting in, it brings us to Pluto being in Libra. Which libra does deal with connections and solid foundations among people. Agreements and liability. Saturn's exalted sign as well, don't forget.
So the two (Saturn and Pluto) are in mutual reception. Businesses and powers-that-be are in symbiosis despite neighboring one another. Neutralization of any discomfort (which makes me think of a sextile -- a sextile that isn't a sextile at all (man, ping that to your notes about mutual reception hehe)).
Then, when 1984 came around, the Macintosh released the FatMac. Bringing the computer to the Homefront with a 'computer for the rest of us'. A bit of virtue signaling to the future of where computers were ULTIMATELY headed. We love Apple. God bless the genius of Steve Jobs y'all <3 (besides we'll do a whole bit on this at some point the more I think on that). But to bring the internet to the Homefront, coding had to have improved. Which, once more and finally, do we get to the internet "driving down your neighborhood street". It finally comes home on April 30th 1993. A nearly exact opposite to the "alpha" release we discussed all the way at the beginning of this section. This is where the 1.0 phase of the internet comes in. The World Wide Web ("www"). From personal studies on dates I thought were significant, colored blue like this, this day would particularly stick out to be a very Saturn and Moon dominant day. Jupiter being in third. It brings a structural (Saturnian) and personal (Lunar) backdrop to what's coming down later. HTML was released this year as well. Bringing more of an emphasis on that structure. Setting off more of the creativity in some people. In terms of modality, it was Cardinal heavy. Pioneering and brand new. Plus, because of the newness to this invention and the fact that this IS the 1.0 release, it started a... settling the Oregon trail kind of energy.
I know, the connotations of saying that are very dark, but an analogy is an analogy. We colonized the digital space as a human race. And we still do with the sphere of the STILL current invention of Virtual Reality.... lil food for thought..
Let's backtrack to the nineties once more shall we? I'm not done (cause we're only getting started!)
Geocities
Established and released in November of 1994, this started the wide WIDE reach to have people start their own website. A lot of the energies involved were once again tied to Scorpio. Now beginning to show the Piscean side on top of that. Tying in more creativity and personal-ness to the sites people had made. Capricorn being involved too, enhancing the structure of the internet once again with the infamous release of this digital product.
To make another very similar analogy to American history, the internet has brought a sense of decentralized-ness. Or, if we were going to use a more 'american-historical' term, it was a 'confederation of sites'. No big central power to the way in which it worked. Even if you had search engines. It was all of the people who made them.
To make an astrological connection to this, Saturn (structure and now coding), was in Aquarius. A sign dedicated to the underdog and smaller man. The 'we-the-people' kind of energy that we see now with Pluto in Aquarius in 2024.
God had blessed the United States back then am I right?
Time flies and now we land on the date December 17th 1996. CSS and coding for the 'look' of a website makes itself a lot more accessible and easier for people to grasp. Better yet, it was a tool released for the folks willing to enhance usability and design for their digital experience at the time.
The energies on that date were relatively splashed. Nothing too significant. And with my synesthesia, the one thing that comes to mind when someone says 'splash' is paint and iridescence. Bringing more of that emphasis on the freedom to design and enhance a users experience in the personality of sites that were created. By 1996 though, Pluto has finally reached Sagittarius! GEN Z REIGN SUPREME (despite our never-ending depression we'll get through it though I promise you that)!! Again, igniting that need to bring a sense of adventure. More people start to join the online space. With Saturn at zero Aries by this day (structures in detriment and a new Saturn cycle sadly), there's a theme of freshness and the slates wiped. So, again, more pioneering and newness. Hell. This is where Saturn and Pluto are in trine with one another. And if the powers-that-be externally meet up in harmony like this, oh you know it's gooooooddd.
The golden age of the internet begins.
Although started with water, invert the alchemical triangle to the upright position..... and alchemy begins to take shape. so to say~
GOLDEN AGE - 1999
Alrighty! We made it to the y2k movement pre-2000s. color was all the rage thanks to CSS and HTML makes it much more possible to code ones own sites. The tools continue to evolve and become more advanced. Not to mention the commodified Windows 95 and 98 experience was well underway this year, and Macintosh brought in Mac OS by this point. I mean... do you see this absolutely gorgeous graphics on both of them????
(even though they were rivals, they both had a lovely look to them)
what comes next after these years? 1999 of course! A BIG PROPRIETOR FOR 2.0
Geocities get's acquired by Yahoo! (January 28th 1999): This day was huge with a lot of energies being torn between Taurus and Aquarius (yet, I see the contrasting energies actually quite beneficial to one another). Most of the Taurus comes from the degrees in which some of the planets were situated (using degree theory as a base for this). But the contrast on both has fixed earth and fixed air. Some would say it's because the detached and logical energy of Aquarius doesn't get the slow to grow and traditional ways of life side of Taurus, but I see them coexisting. Like how fog creates the dew in grass on those very revitalizing yet calm 'last days of school' that you may have experienced. Take what resonates as usual. If it doesn't es fine. But it's foggy air, calm winds and the dew sitting on cool crisp grass. It's a good mix. Hell one could say it's Venus and Uranus working together. A wonderful (Venusian) surprise (Uranian) to the collective. Hell it made Geocities far more accessible because of Yahoo being a rising name in the internet search engine space.
HTML 4.01 (December 1999) Maybe it was an attempt to absolve the 'y2k' bug, maybe it wasn't. But what it DID bring, was more unanimity to the eventual structure of the internet. The Taurus-Aquarius energies are still prominent, yet it was slightly different with Jupiter at 25º of Aries. Doubling up on Aries energy since 25º Aries is on an Ariean degree. So, more luck in pioneering more sites for more online adventures. Saturn in particular was in 11º Taurus (in the Aquarian degree) when the released occured this month. Bringing more of that 'stability' aspect to the freedom to code. And then the outer planets were set in Aquarius to Taurus degrees. Except for Pluto..... Sagittarius 10º.... Capricorn degree. This was gonna lead to success either way.
2000's
So, what else? We made it to 2000. And 2.0 was at its time. It brought such big risers like YouTube, Facebook and MySpace this decade. Geocities continues to be used and with that, there was more of an emphasis on respect for what people brought to the online space.
It of course raised the question about living double lives and with the invention of proto-social media, personas slowly begin to fall. Eventually there's more real-life integration and an 'everyone in' type energy because of Pluto in Sagittarius destroyed the boundaries of intercontinental travel with the advent of speaking to someone on the other side of the planet with your PC. Fucking wild shit man.
Soon, the 2010's approach. Windows 8 is soon to release in the next few years
.... it brings us to another component.
2013 - Neocities
The indie web. An alternative to Geocities because it used HTML4.whatever at this point. Evolution is pretty hard to pay attention to when you're tryin' to write a whole thing on the history of how we function on the web; just to prove a point.
Before we go on about the astrology of such, this year also marks a turning point in the internet. I personally see this as the seed for delusion and craze. Social media starts to make our real life selves more noticeable. Sure, it enhanced communication to an even MORE personal level. But, the internet was highly synthetic and had fictional tones. So, the homogenization begins with bringing those same sites who were rising stars in the 2.0 era, into the current state of affairs. They became big conglomerates. Years continue with them starting to implement ad-revenue systems, stock exchange and other such money-power-lucrative systems that the newly ingressed Pluto in Capricorn is willing to expose. By 2019, geocities is completely shut down. Personality has been swiped away in trade of Wix's dull and corporate look.
Back to my point, a secret stem to this internet begins to slowly form. Neocities.
June 28th 2013
Because this site is a major nostalgia revamp, its ultimate goal of replicating and replacing the former private-on-public-server brethren has since reached its goal today. Look to Tumblr and you notice the culture if you throw in the hashtag for it. Most people don't notice since they're too busy protesting thanks to Neptune in Pisces being our current cycle. Yet, when you want to leave the homogenized internet for something a little more personal and free to your own designs, then this would be your ticket. But it's gonna take effort to code a site.
Much like it takes effort to build a home, this release has a slight pull toward more of a water dominant presence. Bringing the full story of privacy and personality full front and center. But, because of the addition of fire in its chart, there's a lot of support for the freedom to adventure out and stand out. So, Fire and Water heavy.
It's best to work in short bursts. But put your ALL into it when you can/do.
NOW
With the advent of Neptune in Aries, Uranus in Gemini, and Pluto in Aquarius being on the precipice of what's to come, I think there'd be point where the homogenization of the internet is going to be too much to bear. I'm not trying to make this an eventual doomscroll, but don't you feel like the internet is kinda..... dying? Do we really need AI? Do we really need Bitcoin? Do we reallyyyy need this or that or anything to digitally exist other than just a little taste of our souls? I see a split (fracture) and a break.
SPLIT
if push comes to shove and we DON'T regulate AI or make it so where it's NOT subscribe able and it's a free service (i.e. we teach people the ways of building these mechanisms and make it easier to do so), then the internet is gonna split.
You'll have social media (the first one in the group), suddenly fall. The toxic nature could start to die down and become less and less significant as we get around to moderating our use. Respect could come back this way, but with the advent of that, it's the responsibility that comes with using the internet. Being careful with what you put out and more needs to teach digital literacy at a younger audience.
Fandom could take a slight hit because of this. Having a full-circle experience of everything I had to know about what it means to be in one, from being banned, blocked to accepted and loved, as well as the arguments over logistical means in a fictional world (which by the way Neptune in Pisces loves to blend reality with the incomprehensible imagination and raw emotions we get). Antiship and Proship wars too. (That's also gonna be something I wish to talk about with my Neptune in Aries predictions) But because of the 'digital literacy' clause and intent of stuff stated above, it'll take a slight hit where fandom may have a more respectful way of saying or doing such and so. Silent blocks, DNI alerts, the usual that we're so encompassed to.
Other than that: Forums or modified forums become the norm as we revert to a more personal and open lifestyle with the digital space. Doxxing and callouts will still happen, yet I feel as a greater disdain and utter repulsion for it could occur. All of this could be known as ADAPTATION for some. Better yet, true RESPECT.
BREAK
If push comes to shove and the internet space begins to get a little too dicey and personal, basically making it more of that TRIBAL sense of finding your people (not to mention it starts to also devolve to where there's cases of subconscious levels of aggression and too many 'what-if's' being thrown around -- i.e. assumptions, accusations and subliminal hate), then something out there or somewhere is gonna completely tear apart the fabric of the internet. For a bleak example: a foreign country hacks into our digital region. Our VPN.
Aries is ruled by Mars. Mars rules knives and seperations. Wars. If Neptune rules over the subconscious over everyone, this could bring about primal actions on a structure like this.
! not to mention that Saturn (code, structure), conjuncts with Neptune (dissolution and dissolving/illusions and spiritual destiny)... and Aries is known for the anger and drive that it has......
we could revert back to a 1.0 like state of mind. Addictions to social media will have huge withdrawals. Attention and clout chasing will get worse outside of that, and it just straight up becomes a crime.
One thing's for certain. We learn a lesson of being careful to not put our personal information out there. .... but that break gives a chance for the proto-web to come back. Hyper-personalization and drive to keep it within chat services like Discord could become even more so the norm or remain as they are. HTML 6 could come out and bringing the retro look with offline capabilities to the public. So as long as we're careful not to once again put our information out there, then that might bring us to once again let the people shine. The key theme with the break is RESTART.
I apologize if it did seem bleak or aggressive. It’s what I channeled and like I said, if you don’t resonate with it, don’t have to worry about it. 🧘✨ my last couple of statements before we close this off with resources, and one is gonna sound a lot like Smokey The Bear.
Care will prevent the destruction of our exchange in ideas and communication. Only YOU can prevent the 'break'. so let's strive for a 'split' alright? ~visiblenostalgia
and then there's something one of my professors had admitted.
"We have more information than ever, but we're more uninformed than ever."
and a small song before I really tie this up.
Hey, I'm SO obsessed with all your posts! If you're willing, I will request a scenario for task force 141 (if you want, can add some other characters!) when they are at home with a female reader when suddenly a runaway criminal or gun-wielding robber tries to break into the house while they are off guard at midnight. I'm just wondering what they're going to do with the criminal, I hope you'll be willing to make one! Thank you, have a nice day! (sorry if my english is messy, it's not my first language ⊙﹏⊙ )
Thank you for requesting! Your English is perfect I also hope this is what you have in mind! Sorry if it’s not so accurate! (sorry for the long wait!)- E <;3
Unforgettable Night
Slight F!reader x Ghost
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
The shattering of glass echoes through the house, drawing everyone's attention. Alejandro's gaze focuses on the long hallway that extends to the guest room and other areas. He sets his bag down carefully. Soap moves forward, holding his gun in front of him, but you quickly step in front of him, blocking his view of the hallway. Price intervenes and guides you out of the way, allowing Soap and Ghost to advance, both with their guns trained towards the unknown in the dark hallway, followed closely by König.
You glance at Gaz, silently urging him to act. Gaz simply lifts his shoulders in a shrug, while Rodolfo is yawning and rubbing his eyes. Meanwhile, Alejandro is standing beside him. The men methodically check each room in the hallway, then return with your cat in tow, held by König like a baby and a smiling Soap.
"I didn't know you had a cat," Ghost comments as he puts away his gun. "Or so many rooms."
"This used to be my childhood home, and the cats always seem to find their way in," you explain, glancing at the cat.
"Good to know it was a false alarm," Price observes, surveying the living room before looking at Alejandro. "Are you guys alright?"
"Besides the jet lag, cramping legs, and hunger, we just need some rest," Alejandro says with a sigh. "Right, Rudy?"
"Yes, just... some rest," Rodolfo replies shyly, with a smile. "Lovely cat."
"The cat must be a stray," says König as he rubs the cat's belly. "I'm calling it Misky."
"Misky?" Ghost asks with confusion. "What kind of name is that?"
"A lovely one," Alejandro interjects, shooting a glance at Ghost before looking at you. "Princesa, can you show us to our rooms?"
"I only have two guest rooms," you reply softly, shaking your head. "I didn't expect all of you to stay here."
"Is that an issue?" Gaz asks, looking at you with concern. "We can find a hotel."
"No, it's fine," you quickly reassure him. "Besides, this house could use some new occupants."
The men briefly look at you in bewilderment, but quickly move on to making sleeping arrangements. König, Ghost, and Soap will stay in one guest room, while Price and Gaz opt for the living room. Alejandro and Rodolfo will take the other guest room. They gather their belongings and go to get comfortable. Rodolfo and Alejandro have traveled from Mexico to Britain for a vacation. König has temporarily joined the Task Force 141 because of a lull in activity at his base. Neither Price nor the others, nor you, have any objections.
“We better get some rest..” Alejandro says yawning looking at the sunset. “I’m tired and I don’t wanna wake up angry tomorrow.”
“Agreed..” Price says rubbing his eyes. “We have a lot to show you three.”
“Three?” Gaz says confused and looks at Price. “Who’s the third person?”
“König, he’s new to Britain isnt he?” Price says looking at Gaz. “Or I’m I wrong?”
"I'm not too familiar with the area, but I wouldn't mind checking it out," says König as he sets Misky down. "Y/n, do you mind if we keep the cat?"
"I'll have to take it to the vet tomorrow to make sure it's healthy," you reply, looking at Misky.
"It can stay with us in the guest room," Soap says with a big smile, making you nod in agreement. "In the meantime, let's unpack."
"I'll order some takeout for dinner," you say, quickly taking out your phone. "What do you guys feel like eating?"
"Do you have any good Mexican restaurants around here?" Alejandro asks. "If not, I'm up for trying some British food."
"How about beans on toast?" Gaz suggests with a grin, earning strange looks from Alejandro and Rodolfo. "What? It's good!"
"Beans on toast... that's... interesting," Rodolfo says, trying to find the right words.
"I don't have bread or beans," you quickly say, restoring the calm atmosphere. "But I can search for some restaurants."
"I don't want anything too heavy," Price says, checking his phone. "Maybe a normal restaurant would be good?"
"I thought we were getting takeout," Soap says, looking at Price. "Unless you guys want to eat out."
"We'll have to unpack, shower, and get ready if we want to go out to eat," Gaz says, looking annoyed at his bag. "I definitely don't want to unpack when we get back."
"I have three bathrooms, so it should be quick. Plus, you and Price don't really need to unpack," you say, looking up from your phone. "Someone after me can use my bathroom if we go out."
"Do you guys want to go out?" Price asks, looking at everyone. "It looks like a nice night to be outside."
The group of men look at each other and ponder for a moment. After a brief discussion, they come to a decision to go out for dinner. The idea was met with excitement and they quickly get ready, putting on their civilian clothes. It's a strange sight to see them without their military gear, and they also find it odd to see you without your signature bun. Despite the change in appearance, they don't judge each other and move on to the next challenge.
The problem that arose was how they would get to the restaurant. Your car only has four seats, five if you count the driver's seat, so they had to find a restaurant that was close by. Alejandro and Rodolfo, who came from Mexico to Britain for vacation, suggest finding a restaurant in the neighborhood. Price agrees with the idea and after a quick search, he finds a small restaurant close by that seems to have a decent selection of food.
-
Sitting down with them was something. Few glances was thrown at the table by the waiters and other people eating there. Everyone ordering something to drink was some what of a chaos.
Alejandro is perusing the menu and requests a drink. "Water please," he says. But then he has a change of heart, "Wait, do you serve beers?"
Rodolfo gently nudges Alejandro, "Señor, maybe it's best we don't drink our first night here."
Alejandro disagrees with a bright smile, "I hate to disagree with you Rodolfo, but drinking is a way of welcoming something. I'm going to order a beer."
Rodolfo shakes his head, "I'll just have some water." Alejandro pats his back and says, "Live a little Rodolfo!" He then turns to the waitress, "He will have a beer as well."
You break the tension between the two men by making your drink request, "Can I have a Sprite without ice, please?"
Soap is also looking at the menu, "I'll have a Diet Coke... no, wait. A Strawberry milkshake, please."
Gaz is considering his options, "I'll have the Vanilla milkshake," he says after looking at the menu. "Do you guys have another flavor?"
The waitress happily informs the group of additional options, "Yes, we have a mango milkshake and a cherry milkshake too!"
“I’ll have the Mango one instead,” Gaz said as he set the menu down. “And six orders of cheese sticks, please.”
The waitress nodded and turned to Price, Ghost, and König. “What can I get you to drink?”
“I’ll have a beer,” Price replied, and then looked at Ghost and König. “They’ll have the same and three orders of cheese sticks.”
The waitress took note of their requests and asked the men which type of beer they would like. Each of them gave their order, and the waitress walked away, leaving the table in an awkward silence. Soap and Gaz immediately reached for their phones, while Ghost perused the menu, König stared at his hands, and Price looked outside. Alejandro continued to pat Rodolfo on the back, while Rodolfo looked at Alejandro with disappointment. You took your phone out, but a TV nearby broke the silence with the sound of a news report, which caught everyone’s attention in the restaurant.
“Breaking News! A group of dangerous criminals have broken out. Their whereabouts are unknown!” The report continued as pictures of the group appeared on the screen. “There are five people on the loose. If you find anything or see anything suspicious, call the police immediately. Lock your doors and remain indoors, as we don’t know if they’re armed.”
“Jesus, I thought no one could escape from that prison,” Soap said, commenting on the news. “This is a joke.”
“Well, luckily we don’t have to worry about that,” Gaz added. “It’s all in another town.”
“True, but just be sure to be aware,” Price said, eliciting nods from Gaz and Soap. “What a way to start the vacation…”
“Is this normal?” Alejandro asked, looking at Price. “For the news to report this so fast?”
“At times it is,” Price replied with a slight shrug. “Other times it isn’t, since they capture them.”
Alejandro gave a nod and soon enough, the waitress returned with drinks and cheese sticks for everyone. All the men had already placed their food orders, but the waitress turned to you with a question in her eyes, seeking your order as well.
"I'll have a burger," you finally spoke up, returning the menu to the waitress. "Thank you," you added.
The waitress departed once more and this time, the men at the table began to converse with each other. However, you found yourself lost in thought and staring out the window. There was something about one of the criminals mentioned in the news that seemed familiar, but you just couldn't seem to remember.
The walk back to your house wasn't far, and everyone walked together in peace and contentment after the filling meal. Paying for the food sparked a debate among the men, with Price ultimately winning and covering the bill, including a generous tip for the waitress who had to deal with their boisterousness. Gaz and Soap had ordered a few too many beers after finishing their milkshakes, and as a result, Soap stumbled and fell onto your coffee table as soon as you entered the house.
"Soap!" You exclaimed, rushing over to help him. "Jesus, are you okay?"
"Just had a bit too much to drink, lad," Soap replied with a chuckle. "I just need some sleep."
Everyone seemed to be in agreement that sleep was what was needed. Gaz instantly collapsed onto the couch, while Price took the other one. You yawned and rubbed your eyes, and Ghost noticed your exhaustion. He suggested that everyone head to bed, and without hesitation, everyone agreed and went straight to bed without bothering to change out of their clothes. Your comfortable bed was all you needed, as your head hit the pillow and sleep overtook you.
-
You woke up feeling a thirst like never before. Your hand reached blindly to your bedside table in search of a water bottle, but to no avail. You picked up your phone and checked the time - it was close to three in the morning. You got out of bed and headed into the hallway, where you were greeted by a ghost who had just left his room. The ghost made eye contact with you, but seemed unaffected by your presence.
"Can't seem to fall asleep," the ghost said, looking at you. "What about you?"
"I'm just thirsty," you replied softly, looking down the hall. "Is everyone else asleep?"
"Seems like it," the ghost replied. "I checked on everyone. I was just on my way." The ghost paused for a moment, noticing the cat Misky. "I don't understand who names a cat Misky."
You shrugged and replied, "Well, who knows, it probably has a special meaning to them." Then, you walked off to the kitchen.
The ghost followed you quietly. You opened the door to the refrigerator, grabbing a water bottle for yourself and one for the ghost, who didn't hesitate to take it.
"How long have you lived in this house?" the ghost asked, looking at you as he slightly lifted his mask to take a sip of water. "I've seen this house before and I don't remember seeing you here."
"I moved in a few months ago," you replied, taking a long sip from your water bottle. "Why do you ask?"
"Are you okay with us staying here?" Ghost asked, avoiding answering your previous question. "Like, are you comfortable with this entire vacation?"
You looked down at your empty water bottle, pondering the question. "I guess it's nice to have some company," you finally responded. "I get lonely sometimes, especially since my work takes up most of my life. I don't have friends and my family is out of the picture, so..." you trailed off, feeling a pang of sadness.
"I thought I remembered you hanging out with someone after work," Ghost interjected, placing his own water bottle down. "What happened with that?"
"They wanted more than just friendship," you admitted, looking up at Ghost. "Things didn't work out and I had to cut off all communication with them."
As you spoke, Ghost raised his arm and placed a gloved hand on your cheek, gently brushing it with his fingers. He didn't like seeing you upset. You sighed and took hold of his hand, both of you locking eyes and Ghost leaning in slightly.
Suddenly, the sound of footsteps down the hall interrupted the moment. They were heavy and deliberate, and Ghost immediately stepped back from you, looking in the direction of the noise. It was König, without his mask, and he also stopped in his tracks when he saw the two of you.
"What are you guys up to?" König asked, finally making his way over to you. "I thought everyone was sleeping."
"Your mask," you said, looking down in respect for his privacy. "You forgot it."
"Shit," König muttered, covering his face. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make this awkward."
"It's fine König," Ghost said as he handed him a napkin. "Here you go for now."
"Thanks," König replied, holding the napkin up to his face. "You can look now."
You lifted your gaze, seeing that König had now covered his face with the napkin. You couldn't help but smile at the sight and let out a small laugh. König looked at you, his eyes softening at your laughter, while Ghost glanced at the window. But before he could say anything, a loud crash echoed through the house as a large brick was thrown through the window. Price and Gaz were quickly jolted awake and frantically looked around. Five masked individuals entered the house, their guns pointed at all of you. Soap, Alejandro, and Rodolfo rushed out to see what was happening.
"Hands up!" one of the masked individuals shouted, waving their gun at everyone. "Now!"
"What the hell, my window!" You yelled at the masked individuals, irritated. "Do you have any idea how much that's going to cost me? Over five hundred pounds!"
One of the intruders scoffed. "Really? You're more worried about a window? Lady, it's just a window."
You narrowed your eyes at the intruder. "Of course I am! It's my property, and it's going to cost me a lot of money to fix." You quickly shot a quick look at Price, who understood your silent message.
"We don't have time for this, hands up now!" The second intruder barked, pointing their gun at you all.
"Pay for my damn window," you spat at them. "Or else, I won't hesitate to warn you about the consequences."
"Warn us about what?" The first intruder asked, confusion clear in their voice. "Who are you talking about?"
Before anyone could react, Price and Gaz swiftly drew their guns and aimed them at the intruders, with Alejandro and Rodolfo following suit. Meanwhile, Ghost and König grabbed kitchen knives for defense. Soap approached you carefully, positioning himself as a shield to protect you. The masked men looked at each other before fixing their gaze back on the armed men. One of the intruders laughed and pointed his gun at Price.
“I said put your hands up! Drop your weapons!” He shouted. “Or I’ll shoot him!”
Alejandro remained calm and responded, “I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” He trained his own gun at the intruder. “How about you drop your weapons instead?”
Ghost inched his way towards Price, keeping a safe distance from the masked men. Gaz shot a frustrated look at Price, who was clearly irritated at being woken up in the middle of the night to deal with this situation.
"Do you have any guns?" Soap whispered to you in a hushed tone. "It could really help us now."
You shake your head, and a look of disappointment appears on Soap's face. König silently approaches Soap and hands him a kitchen knife, to which Soap mouths a "Thank you". Your focus shifts to the intruders, three of whom are now on the floor with Ghost on top of them. The other two are pointing their guns at Ghost, but that doesn't last long as Price and Gaz tackle them, sending their guns flying. Alejandro and Rodolfo hurry over to assist, and König joins in, despite the fact that he is not wearing a mask.
"Do you have any zip ties?" Soap asks, looking at you. "If not, I question your life choices."
"Ouch...and I do," you reply, moving towards the kitchen drawer. "Here you go."
You hand the zip ties to Soap as he rushes to help the others. You then turn your attention to the broken glass on the floor, which poses a threat to everyone. You grab a broom and dustpan and make your way towards the chaos.
"We need to call the police," Gaz says, looking at Soap. "These are the criminals, right?"
"Yeah, it's a bummer they picked the wrong house for this," Soap says, taking out his phone. "I mean, come on, why this house?"
"You're seriously allowing this to happen, y/n!" one of the intruders yells, causing you to freeze. "You bitch!"
"Don't call the police," you quickly say, forgetting about the glass under your feet. "Soap, put the phone down."
"Y/n, how in the world do they know your name?" Price asks, making his way towards you. "Answer me."
"Just...don't," you reply, moving past Price and crouching down next to the intruder. "Val."
"You've really changed, haven't you?" Val sneers, as you remove his mask. "You have a lot more fire in you now."
You slap Val across the face, and the others remain silent. Val grins and spits in your face, causing Ghost and Price to quickly pull you away. Gaz stands by your side, while Alejandro and Rodolfo keep their eyes on the other four intruders.
"How do you know them?" Price asks again, looking at you. "Do you know all of them or just him?"
"Just him," you sigh. "He used me. He took all of my money, and anything under my name was gone."
"That was the best time of my life," Val says with a laugh. "I wish I could have seen your face the day you found out."
"Shut up!" you yell, surprising the men. "Because of you, my family hates me."
"Come on, little sister," Val says with a laugh. "You can't be mad. You got to see the world and live life."
Before Val can continue, Ghost punches him in the face. "Shut up," Ghost says in a cold tone. "Price, I think we know what to do."
Price looks at you, then nods at Rodolfo. Rodolfo, confused, follows Price's gaze and realizes what's about to happen. He walks over and grabs your hand.
"Let's go back to bed," Rodolfo says, trying to distract you. "They can handle this."
Rodolfo sat next to you on the bed, trying to distract you from the events taking place in the living room. He raised the volume of the TV, hoping it would help drown out any sounds. You lay there, staring blankly at the screen, unable to shake the thoughts of what was happening just a few feet away from you. Despite Rodolfo's efforts to distract you, you couldn't help but feel uneasy, and wished for it all to be over soon.
-
Price strikes Val with a forceful punch to the face. Val is powerless, as his hands are bound with zip ties and he cannot move them. Ghost knocks out the other intruders, while Alejandro briefly observes before turning his gaze elsewhere.
"We should call the police," Alejandro suggests, addressing Price. "They can handle this situation."
"No way," Gaz objects, shaking his head. "They broke in, they have to face the consequences."
"Please, we'll leave! Just let us go," one of the intruders pleads as Ghost removes their masks. "I never wanted this to happen."
"König knife," Ghost demands, holding out his hand. König promptly hands him the knife. Without a moment's hesitation, Ghost stabs the intruder in the leg. Alejandro's eyes widen in shock, and Val reacts to the scream, but Price grabs his face and smacks him.
"Don't look at them," Price warns with a low chuckle. "Focus on me. They can't help you, and you can't help them."
As the intruder cries out in pain, Ghost twists the knife in their leg. Gaz retrieves some socks from his bag and stuffs them in the intruder's mouth to muffle their cries.
Soap observes the scene from the hallway, while Alejandro moves away and glances at Soap. The intruders' muffled screams gradually fade as they have passed out from the shock. Val's eyes widen, then he looks at Ghost, who cautiously stands up and picks up a piece of broken glass. Price grabs Val's face again and shakes his head, showing pure disappointment.
Val pleads with Price through his gaze, but it is too late. Ghost approaches and throws the piece of glass at Val's arm. Alejandro covers his mouth in disbelief. He is unsure of what to do, as he has witnessed such acts before, but never from his friends.
König retrieves the knife from the passed-out intruder and repeats the same action on the other three, showing no mercy. Ghost grabs Val's face and stares at him, something inside of him snapped after hearing Val talk about how he ruined his life. Price tries to intervene, shaking his head, but Ghost is beyond caring at this point. They have all gotten themselves too involved to turn back. Gaz looks at the intruders and feels a tinge of regret for what has happened.
"What an unlucky night for all of you," König says, looking at the intruders. "I saw that there were nails and a hammer in the guest room."
"Soap, go get it," Ghost orders, as Price watches him. "Don't say anything now, captain. We are too deep into this to back out now."
-
You once again sat at the restaurant, drinking coffee with the others in an awkward silence. Alejandro couldn't bring himself to look away from his cup of coffee, while Rodolfo sat silently next to him. Ghost and Price gazed at each other, while König and Alejandro both stared at their coffee, and Soap and Gaz drank their drinks. You reached for your phone, but Ghost grabbed it and set it on the table. He wanted to speak, but no words came to mind. König understood what Ghost was trying to say, but the sound of the TV once again caught everyone's attention. You turned to the TV, but Price immediately hugged you, gently blocking the sound of the reporter.
"Breaking News! Five criminals found dead," the reporter announced, looking into the camera. "Photos of their deaths cannot be shown due to the graphic nature, but it has been reported that nails were impaled into their eyes and hands."
Soap covered his face, König stared at the TV, Alejandro rested his head on Rodolfo's shoulder, and stared at Ghost. Ghost gazed back at Alejandro before turning his attention to the TV.
"I'm not sure whether to feel relieved or frightened by the news of these criminals' deaths," another reporter commented as Price hugged you tighter. "It's shocking that all the cameras in the area where the bodies were found were not working. It's a truly brutal end."
The waitress returned with the food, her concern growing as she saw the group's reaction to the news on TV. She quickly turned off the television and offered everyone a comforting smile. Price released you and Gaz cleared his throat, looking around at the others. Despite the gravity of the situation, everyone started to eat without any hesitation, breaking the uncomfortable silence. To them, criminals should always face punishment, regardless of the severity of their crime, even if that means death.
It’s not wrong.. right?
Fraud | Part 6 | Yandere All Might x Reader
(A/N: The amount of delusion reader is under right now is wild, and it's just going to get even worse. Hope you enjoy and comment to be added to the taglist!)
WARNINGS: implied noncon, dubcon, manipulation, domestic abuse, yandere themes, forced marriage, forced pregnancy, stockholm syndrome, graphic depictions of violence, mind breaking, misogyny, power imbalance, age difference, cheating, unprotected sex, etc.
================================================
All Might pounded into the woman beneath him. Maisy, or Ellie, he couldn't be bothered to remember her name. All he knew is that this was one of the deals he was willing to make. She had done a good job, bringing Shade right where he wanted her.
Until she was willing to accept his advances All Might would take any good pussy he could get. After all being the number one hero came with stress that needed to be relieved from time to time.
Some men claimed to be big, but he was bigger. Pounding into her with such ferocity she was nothing more than a fucked out mess, taking what he could give.
She was taking him so well, he wouldn't be opposed to keeping up similar meetings like this. Stretching out her tight cunt to fit him and only him while she writhed and clutched the sheets, cum dripping out of her womb.
Unlike that pathetic excuse of a man, he wouldn't have to worry about Shade finding out, this woman clearly would do anything for one evening with him if he kept up these rendezvous he could find a way to control his urges without risking everything he had worked for up until now.
An besides, great sex was a price he was willing to pay.
"There." He sighed, finally through with her. "I've kept my end of the deal."
She smiles seductively, reaching to put her clothes back on. "You have indeed~"
"So how will you manage lover boy?"
"Oh trust me I will, he's asked me to start going out with him, so it seems I might have a boyfriend now."
"Glad everything worked out."
She nods, heading for the door.
"That doesn't mean these ahem- Meetings, are over, correct?"
Her smile becomes bigger. "Wouldn't dream of it."
As he watches her go, he turns back to the task at hand.
===============================================
"Your first day at Might Tower, how are you getting settled in, any troubles with that scoundrel?"
Shade finds a small sense of comfort in his reassuring smile. The last couple days had been hell, but there was a light at the end of the tunnel, she was going to make her dreams come true and let that asshole rot in the dust.
"Not really, he was at first but we worked it out."
"Glad to hear it, although I'm curious how you could come to an agreement with a man like that."
She goes quiet and slightly pale, not noticing the way his face darkens.
"Don't tell me-"
"Look he had very sentimental items, okay? And I don't know...I felt like I had to know for myself if it was really over."
"After what he did to you- how could you-"
"I don't need your judgement, okay? And trust me, it's over. It's really over."
"As long as you promise me that you'll never speak to that man again."
"Why is my boss so interested in my personal life all of a sudden?" She forces out a laugh.
"Because as someone who works for me your wellbeing and mental state is required to do your job correctly. And as a hero my job is to protect citizens from harm, and that man is a danger to you. I only insist because I care."
She nods, regretting lashing out at him when he's been nothing but generous and nice to her. "Thanks All Might, I don't know what I'd do without you."
"It's the least I can do for someone in need."
She sighs, that feeling of not being enough filling her head.
"Hey now, don't be upset. It may not seem like there's an out now but there will be, in time. Soon you'll feel your confidence returning and you'll find someone better to love."
"I don't think I'll ever love again."
"You say that now, but one day you'll find someone, probably someone right in front of you, who cares deeply about who you are and wants to cherish you how you should."
She smiles again, he always knew how to make her feel better. "You're right, I'll be okay."
"And until that day, I'll be right here for you, supporting you every step of the way." He laughs his hearty laugh, banishing those self-loathing thoughts and embracing her with warmth.
She turns to continue unpacking, missing the way his smile vanishes into a more sinister look.
"I'll always be right here for you."
