!help local music venues!
hello! i know the majority of users on here are probably American but i still wanted to pull attention to The Crown and Anchor hotel in Adelaide, South Australia.
Recently the popular venue has been sold to an overseas company who plans on turning it into student housing, this is horrible for the Adelaide music scene since The Crown and Anchor has been standing since the 1850’s and is one of the very few local live music venues.
If this loved venue is torn down the music community will suffer with a lack of locations and safe places when music is such an essential part to a community. I will make a more well-worded post later but please take time out of your day to look at, support and share the @SaveTheCranker account on instagram where there will be a lot more information than this post. help live music carry on and help support local bands, draw attention to this matter which is held so closely to many peoples hearts.

Maisie
Local legends soon to take over the nation's heart? It’s Maisie! They’re a 5 piece psych rock band out of Adelaide and boy do they know how to put on a show. If you’re a fan of Jimi Hendrix, The Delta Riggs or The Doors, you’ll love these guys. The band finds influence in an array of genres; blending tastefully tones of blues, pop, rock, psych and funk to create the artful Maisie sound. Their original songs are so groovy you won’t be able to sit still. Recently, their song Hot Juice (2022) got a music video. It explores vocalist, Emmett’s, fantasy of being a 70s pool cleaner and showcases the band's love for vintage cars. The song is clean, rocky, sexy and zesty (literally). Their other songs are just as banging too! If you have the honour to see Maisie live, you’ll be blown away by the level of skill and finesse. You can expect high energy, excellent dancing, guitar solos and conga hitting greatness. They’re also all-around great people and have impeccable fashion taste! If you’re looking for shiny trophies, they’ve been featured on Rage and made it into the Sickest 100. In 2024, we can hope for new bangers from Maisie and maybe they'll be heading to a city near you. Keep your eyes peeled so you don’t miss a thing! Maisie is most definitely everyone's new favourite band so you better get in quick so you can say "I knew them before they were famous".

I seriously love fantasia on the dargason so much guys like how. How did Holst DO this. In NINETEEN EIGHTEEN??????
How did he create something so magical and joyous and fun that is still somehow a fucking joy to play. How did he do a passacaglia without the theme getting boring after 20 repetitions. His MIND putting Greensleeves with the dargason. HIS MIND PUTTING THE OPENING ON SAXOPHONE!!!!!!! Seriously saxophone wasn't really used in classical contexts yet and he had the balls to use it to open his best work
In conclusion, fantasia on the dargason is the best piece of music ever argue with the wall
