The Velvet Underground & Nico - The Velvet Underground & Nico (MGM-Verve, 1967) - Design by Acy Lehman, banana painting by Andy Warhol
One of the most iconic album covers of the 60s, which is on-brand for Warhol. It's not uncommon to see parodies of this (most recently with the vinyl releases of the Donkey Kong Country soundtrack).
Oh, and the album itself is great, too.
Original copies had the peel as the sticker, revealing a banana colored after human flesh when peeled off. This has been removed in later releases.

El álbum contiene algunos de sus mayores éxitos: Don’t bring me down; Inside looking out; See see rider; Gin house blues; I put spell on you.
Barry Jenkins suple al batería original John Steel y aparece en tres cortes (Don’t bring me down; Cheating; y See see rider). Dave Rowberry ya había debutado anteriormente sustituyendo a Alan Price, y aparece en el recopilatorio americano The best of the Animals.
You’re on my mind,...).

Bill Evans Trio "At Town Hall Volume One" 待望の! 。 1966年2月21日、Town Hall, New York 録音。 "Volume One"なので"Volume Two"も? 1-3 "Who Can I Turn To (When Nobody Needs Me) "の柔和さも素晴らしいが、とはいえ注目はやはり14分近くにおよぶソロ演奏による鎮魂歌、Side 2の"Make Someone Happy ~ Solo - In Memory Of His Father, Harry L. Evans, 1891-1966" ですね。 Story Line"はリヴァーサイド時代の恩師オリン・キープニュースに捧げられた"Re: Person I Knew"、"Turn Out the Stars"は友人ジーン・リースと共作した名曲。 https://www.instagram.com/p/CVrBicdPRp0/?utm_medium=tumblr

The Velvet Underground, “The Velvet Underground & Nico”
The Velvet Underground, The Velvet Underground & Nico (1967) Verve Photographer: Paul Morrissey, Hugo Designer: Andy Warhol, Acy R. Lehman
Once upon a time, hippies in the late ‘60s thought that smoking dried banana peels would get you high. While this didn’t turn out to be the case, one of the most iconic album covers in music history was made during the few weeks when this craze was running rampant.
Andy Warhol’s banana print on the front cover of The Velvet Underground & Nico is immediately recognizable. It became a landmark album cover because of it’s sheer simplicity. Early versions of the album featured the banana as a sticker, with the words “peel slowly and see” next to it. When peeled, it would reveal a flesh-colored banana underneath. Special manufacturing methods were needed to create this on the early versions of the LP cover, designed by Acy R. Lehman, which are now rare collector’s items. It caused a delay in the album’s release, but MGM was willing to take the risk on the belief that Warhol’s artwork would boost the sales of the album. On some versions of the CD, the pink banana was printed on the inlay of the jewel case, underneath the disc.
Velvet Underground & Nico was also unique due to its gatefold. At the time, most gatefolds were reserved for double LP’s. The gatefold included photos of the band taken by Paul Morrissey and color photographs by Verve Records photographer, Hugo.
As simplistic as the artwork is, it had its share of problems. The main back photo of the album includes an image of actor Eric Emerson, projected behind the band. Desperate for money after an arrest for drug possession, Emerson sued the band for unauthorized use of his image. MGM recalled copies of the album and halted production, slapping a sticker on copies that were already printed to hide the actor’s face. He was airbrushed from the cover, but recent pressings of the album have the image restored.
Another lawsuit took place in 2012. The Velvet Underground business partnership sued the Andy Warhol Foundation of the Visual Arts for using the cover in a series of iPhone and iPad cases without their consent. Four claims were made in this complaint: one for copyright law and three for trademark law. The trademark claims were later settled out of court.

The Animals - Animalization (MGM Records - E-4384) LP, Album, Mono 1966 G+ / VG
Animalization is the fourth American album by British R&B group The Animals. It has a track listing somewhat similar to the British album Animalisms. The album, which reached #20 on the US Billboard album chart, included three US Top 40 singles.
It was during this period that drummer John Steel left the group and was replaced by Barry Jenkins, previously of The Nashville Teens (of "Tobacco Road" fame). Both drummers appear on the cover, Jenkins on the front (upper right in brown shirt) and Steel on the back.
