2023年4月6日、西ギリシャワイン/アハイアとイリア地域のマスタークラスに参加しました。講師はコンスタンティノス・ラザラキスMW。 ギリシャの国は暖かい気候のイメージがありますが、アハイアとイリア地域のブドウ畑は標高が高くかつ海に近い場所にあるので、寒暖差があり比較的涼しい気候だそうです。主要ブドウ品種は、ロディティス、マラグジア、マスカット、マヴロダフニ、アシルティコ等。今回12種類もの試飲があり、ほとんど初めて体験するブドウ品種でした。

講義中特に面白かったのは、料理とのワインペアリングに関する質問に対して、「ワインペアリングは、元々フランス人が考えた事。ギリシャではいろいろな料理をいっぺんにテーブルに並べて食べる文化なので、何にでも合うワインが古代から造られてきた」なるほど。日本の一般的な食事スタイルもそうですね。MWが言うと説得力がありました。

Camaya, another cohort the party took with them after the group she was with ... Died (don't ask how they died). Basically a sniper, just with a bow.
