One of the most irritating things about the political left is that so many of us don't seem to understand that it is not enough to have conviction. It isn't even enough to be provably right. You have to be convincing to achieve change. And not busy convincing to your other leftist friends, or to the specific few already primed to join the left. You have to be able to convince people that do not agree with your position. You have to construct arguments that are convincing to them, not yourself.

If you don't at least try to do this you are not an activist. This is the bare minimum, and it is a bare minimum most of the left seems to have decided not to bother with.
