Okay not actually upset with Ruby’s parentage after rewatching The Church on Ruby Road, what I am upset about is the fact that the way that Empire of Death was written makes it seem like RTD is making fun of the fans for being investing and theorizing in the clues that HE LAID OUT. It probably wasn’t meant to be taken this way but it just feels kinda, idk, mean? It’s reminiscent of when people would make fun of me for being so invested in my special interests(the main one literally being Doctor Who) back when I was in school.

In universe, the ending is sweet! But IRL it just feels like the mystery was written solely to drive engagement and then finger wag at said engagement once the season ends.

Anetra turned around to face Marcia once she had dumped the glass into the trashcan and tossed the towel over the wet carpet. “You can go back to whatever you were working on. You don't have to stare at me like I'm a zoo animal.” Her voice wavered.

I was tearing up beforehand when old Ruby first was shown but then that just broke the damn.

Also like old Ruby being the woman the whole time and just the paradox that she is it’s so interesting. I didn’t think I was gonna like an episode without the doctor in it cause of how little episodes we’re getting to begin with but I did really like the episode. I wish we knew what it was the Woman/old Ruby was saying to everyone though
