God Games would be way more entertaining to me if Apollo retained the role/standing/position he held in the Odyssey. Like, alright, we're involving one of Odysseus' (canonical) protectors into a contest over his life. Let's imagine he has to participate, either because he holds his (beloved) father in high regard or because filling space with himself is better than letting some other God who doesn't care about Odysseus step in. Let's imagine this is myth!Apollo dealing with the situation, and perhaps he's trying to indirectly assist Athena's claim.
I feel like the argument could be a little more serious while remaining easily resolved. Sure, Epic!Apollo is more of a comic relief than a serious character (so far) but I can't help but imagine myth!Apollo as part of the song lamenting over Troy, or the young boy killed to sack it (as young boys are his domain). And since (in the Odyssey) he is also Telemachus' protector, I can't help but wonder how hard it would hit if Apollo presented his argument as bitterness over a murdered boy (showing his myth-accurate care for both Troy and its ruling kin) and Athena could retaliate with "let him go so he can be the father he never was before". And perhaps then we could slowly slide into myth-accurate role of Apollo as Telemachus' protector.

One of my biggest pet peeves is the assumption that something has to be sad for it to be tragic.
I've always been a big believer of the 'Apollo has an awful love life'/'Apollo is plain unlucky with love' line of thinking but it does bother me that the general reasoning for that statement is given to the concept of 'Apollo is somehow undesireable and thus rejected' (Cassandra/Daphne/Marpessa) or 'his lovers die young and thus their love is unfulfilled' (Cyparissus/Hyacinthus/Coronis). I personally think that's a very unfortunate way of looking at things - not only because it neglects the many perfectly cordial entanglements and affairs Apollo has had, both mortal and divine - but because it presents a very shallow interpretation of the concepts of love and loss and how loss affects people.
Apollo can still grieve lovers that have a long, healthy life. The inherent tragedy of an immortal who knows his lovers and children will die and cannot stop it does not stop being tragic simply because those lovers and children live long, fulfilled lives. The inherent tragedy of loss does not stop being tragic simply because someone knows better than to mourn something that was always going to end.
What is tragic is not that Apollo loves and loses but that loss itself follows him. Apollo does not love with the distance of an immortal, he does not have affairs and then leaves never to listen to their prayers again. He does not have offspring and then abandon them to their trials only to appear when it is time to lead them to their destinies. He raises his young, he protects the mothers of his children, he blesses the households that have his favour and multiplies their flocks that they may never go hungry. He educates his sons, he adorns his daughters and even in wrath he is quick to come to his senses and regret the punishments he doles out.
Apollo loves. And like mortals, there will always be some part of him that wishes to protect the objects of his affections. Apollo, however, is also an emissary of Fate. He knows that the fate of all mortal things is death. He knows that to love a mortal is to accept that eventually he will have to bury them. There is no illusion of forever, there is no fantasy where he fights against the nature of living things and shields his beloveds from death. Apollo loves and because of that love, he also accepts.
And that, while beautiful, is also tragic.

Not the first to say it, but damn can’t believe Galladay really went from toxic yaoi to doomed tragic yaoi.
Alright fellow Galladay trash, where’s the modern AU fix-it fics?
I need to see Gallagher single dad with Misha plus their dog/cat Sleepie falling for entertainment company CEO Sunday. Don’t ask me how they met, fuck it, throw in bodyguard AU Gallagher who works part-time at a bar, boom there that’s how they meet, idk I’m making this up on 3 hours of sleep.
You’ve heard of slow burns, now get ready for Galladay blaze it.
They’re speedrunning the relationship from hate -> annoyance -> mild disgruntlement -> weirdly vibing -> ok wow never knew I needed that in my life -> Sunday is way too ok with spoiling Misha -> ok so we got married -> alright we’re dismantling the government now -> Sunday went to jail for 5 minutes for attempting “peaceful” world domination, don’t worry we (Gallagher) forgave him -> Sunday’s stepping down as CEO to run a coffeeshop idk look someone get him some therapy -> Robin is president now while she still goes on tours -> Misha won an engineering competition while this was all going on
Bottom line: Robin is out living her best life while Sunday is in the back somehow having the most insane week of his life. I have no other notes for her here except that she is happy, and successful, and is Sunday’s last remaining brain cell. She and Misha are having some fun Aunt/Nephew bonding times while Galladay are accidentally-on-purpose committing multiple war crimes.
No, we don’t have time to unpack 2.2 and all its trauma, we cope with modern AU :)

Apollo: WHAT? You are volunteering me to defend a trial tomorrow??? That's not enough time to prepare!!!!
Phoenix, handpicking the most convoluted, complex, potentially disasterous murder case he can find: No no don't worry it'll be real easy.

Klavier playing guitar~ 💜🎵
Ok so - they re-released the Apollo Justice trilogy (ironic name) (i'll release a rant post later) and I kinda forgot Klavier Gavin existed & that he was a musician? Looking at the games with a fresh perspective I think he takes the spot of my favorite prosecutor (at least, in the one game he's treated like a character and not a cameo 🥲)
I added a purple stripe in his hair because i think IT SLAYS. Thank you for coming to my ted talk 💅
Anyway! Enjoy cozy Klavier hours / jam session~💜🎵
