agent ship concept
Neo Agent 3 who is like 2 years older than Captain 3. She's not a Splatlands native, instead an escaped dome octoling who has a history with both Captain and Agent 4. She used to best them up during missions and steal parts of their uniforms as trophies once she splatted them. Once she escaped she ran to the Splatlands and became a salvager (or more technically a bandit) and got roped into agent work after tripping into the open sewer grate instead of following the weird old man.
However, once falling into Alterna and meeting Captain 3, she now has a new goal of stealing the Captain's Cap. She thinks it will be easy because she hasn't fought Captain 3 in 7 years and they seem to still be scrawny and weak to her.
She is very soon proved wrong when the Captain pins her to the ground during her first theft attempt, pointing their weapon dead center on her forehead.
And at this point, Neo 3 catches ALL the feelings and becomes sort of love struck, poking at the Captain's buttons so she'll get pinned again.

my (spoilered) theories on secret life loreeee
SO. IT'S NOT JUST ME. THAT SYMBOL IS THIS CLOSE TO THE WATCHERS -- maybe it's warped? listeners trying to interfere? grian's own attempt to protect his fellow players from these malicious beings he is all too familiar with?
like listen the mechanic is so similar to how the watchers rewarded the evolutionists - do what they ask of you, and you will be rewarded accordingly!
the symbol embedded into the stone.. it's cobble, not bedrock but it very well may be!! perhaps they're slightly weaker? idk
im gonna call the place they go for rewards the "watcher altar" for the sake of simplicity
as martyn approaches it, the sky darkens -> the watchers are paying incredible amounts of attention to him, tryna see what they can do and if their interference from limlife is still holding
-> its not, i think, given the listeners' interference; so the watchers once again try
-> it MIGHT have worked, given the sudden change in martyn's level of intensity regarding the game
^ here, im contrasting his initial carelessness with his hearts - he got down to one row of hearts!! (perhaps his attempt to be less of a threat and get out early so he doesnt win?) with his post-altar calculating approach, where he purposely starts collecting promises for future hearts (attempting to cement his own future safety)
this apparent change in goals may indicate interference from the watchers
- why? i dont know. theyre upset with him but still wanna make him win? or maybe they wanna use him as a tool to get some of the typically higher-standing players out in the future?
his experience with the listeners in the void may have reminded him of their blessing/gift
-> he uses this on grian when he noticed g loitering around the watcher altar (martyn crouched and spied on him in an attempt to hear what grian was saying)
+ "you got too much, i heard you say it"
- they are reverting back to their previous suspiciousness and mistrust in the later stages of evo, when they were divided by the watchers and listeners. this situation (slsmp) and the secrecy required/demanded is so similar to evo that they are finding it harder to differentiate flashbacks from reality. they're regressing; any progress made since those times is being undone as they are thrust back into a situation so similar to a previous traumatic experience which they still have not processed fully
idea of key memories + repressing:
let's look at pearl and martyn (there are more but this is what i remembered)
pearl: "who goes to the nether on session one?"
martyn: "have you- have you forgotten? i do every time! you know this, you've been there with me!"
-> my interpretation is that martyn's memories are (unfortunately) incredibly clear - it's one of his punishments for defying the watchers all the way back in evo and explains why he keeps making references to past seasons - he is desperately trying to find anyone else who remembers so that he's not alone
-> on the other hand, pearl, as a victor, was given back her memories as a "gift" - however, judging by the incredibly violent and traumatic circumstances in which she won, she subconsciously repressed the worst of the memories because she was in no state to handle them - her "amnesia cold" in limlife was when the watchers needed to intervene and bring in another player to replace her since she was unable to handle the memories leaking through due to the ambient surrounding magic
yea that’s it for now, i’ve only watched two perspectives

The Ryoko Kui interview's reception is such a disaster over a pretty normal (yet still flawed) interview between a non-Japanese fan and Japanese artistic. This is discourse for discourse's sake, and it's no surprise that almost every Twitter user I've looked at who's using this interview to parade Kui around as a goated mangaka standing strong against Western ideology is anti-trans.
Like, I do think the interview was kinda wonky with its focus on fandom culture, which Kui clearly didn't have much interest in. But sometimes that happens. Sometimes interactions between two people, especially a fan and a creator, two people who view and interact with a piece of media in completely opposite perspectives, don't click. Does this really need to get blown up into a "West vs. East culture war" issue.
Anyways, Kui saying "I don't consider my audience's interpretations when writing. I leave it to their imaginations, but I have my own read on things too" is the healthiest, most normal thing an artist/writer who wants a non-parasocial audience could say. Artists and writers use this line all the time. If Kui didn't enjoy autistic Laius or Farcille headcanons, she would have probably voiced/signalled her discomfort, like she did on the topic of Senshi fanservice. Overall, Kui handled the interview really well. Props to her to sticking to her guns and keeping a healthy disconnect from the fandom. While I think the interviewer could've/should've been more tactful and restrained, the flaws in their questions is not a symptom of the woke mind virus trying to wriggle its way into the pure Japanese psyche. It's the sign of an over-eager fan who sees a piece of fiction differently than its creator.

invisible scars (referenced previous talk here)
[ID: A colourless, digital Trigun comic of Vash and Wolfwood talking about Wolfwood's scars. They're both laying in bed and topless. Vash lays on top of Wolfwood, playing with the rosary around his neck. Then, Vash kisses a spot on Wolfwood's chest. Wolfwood asks, "What are you doing?" Vash smiles sadly, "You got shot here. In the last town we visited. You didn't even bother moving."
Vash props himself up over Wolfwood, who frowns slightly. Wolfwood is quiet for a moment before he says, "You remember that, huh?" Vash grabs Wolfwood's left wrist and brings it to his face. "And here." He kisses another spot there. "When you helped free the hostages from that robber..." Wolfwood dismissively says, looking away, "Was a lucky shot." Vash huffs, “Don’t brag. Jeez.”
Half of Wolfwood's expression is shown, eyes returning to Vash who is now sitting up, continuing to say, "And..." Vash goes on and kiss Wolfwood's right palm. "You got cut here, even though that girl was aiming at me." A moment from the past flashes, of Wolfwood grabbing a knife aimed at Vash, his hand bleeding.
At present, Vash moves down and puts another kiss on Wolfwood's right shoulder. "And here, from watching my back." Another memory flashes of Wolfwood and Vash back to back. Vash looks back as Wolfwood grins while holding Punisher, bleeding from multiple gunshots in his shoulder.
"And," Vash combs up Wolfwood's hair to reveal his forehead, "Here." A final memory shows Wolfwood with a regeneration vial in his mouth while getting shot on his temple. The next panel is framed in blood with Vash at the center, eyes wide and stunned in horror. The next panel is a closed up shot of Wolfwood's eye, locked on Vash's face.
Back to present, Vash’s head is bowed down as Wolfwood raises a hand to his nape and says, “Spikey.”
Wolfwood looks serious and frowns as he says, "We talked about this. Those were my decisions. They're not there anymore. Forget about them." Vash looks very sad before he smiles ruefully and says, "I still see them. All the time." He leans down so they touch foreheads. Wolfwood’s sorrowful expression can be seen as Vash says, "You protect so much. I could never forget what you've done to me. And many others..."
In the last image, they're drawn more cartoonishly. Wolfwood sweats and asks, "You don't actually remember every wound, right?" Vash points at a spot on his chest. "Kuroneko left a scratch here 7 times." Wolfwood, startled, says, "Why the hell are you keeping count—" End ID]
