angel being constantly shown in photos after her death makes me SICK whenever i think about it for too long. her own self portraits, the one in the casino, jacks office, the jakobs estate. so many little glimpses of her only after she's already gone.

I think Boimler shoulda got mpregged instead of Rutherford cause he’s already a mess over being in charge and having a whole life dependent on his neurotic ass would be a chefs kiss arc of learning to chill out and rely on his family system before the idk space baby or whatever dips at the end of the episode and it’s back to the usual on the Cerritos
Also I’m in love with Ransom therefore shipping these two ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So the thing about Gabe to me is that he doesn’t quite fit in the categorically of Angel Who Is Eventually Humanized the way that Castiel or Anna do. He is more down to earth than the other angels but specifically in the way that GODS are, not humans. Like, even if he's not literally Loki, Gabriel is functionally an earthen deity for the millenia he spent dicking around and killing people. Other gods are literally the crowd he runs in, and he's an asshole because gods are assholes (and he specifically decided to be one of the more extreme asshole gods). Even though his sensibilities can be very human-like, even if he generally likes humans and wants them to stick around, there was always some level of divinity to his cruelty. So even if he did ultimately choose humanity I feel like putting him in with the angels who actually know what it's like to be human misses this part of his character.

Thinking about writing a “time travel” fic where after the events of rdr1 John doesn’t die but instead wakes up on the cliff side of colter after being mauled by wolves. He has a chance to fix things, to save people to save himself for his family. But most importantly he gets to coddle and adore a 4 year old Jack because “oh my god my boy is so small I can’t believe I didn’t appreciate him at this time”

Pentious: You’ll ssssteal another!
Vaggie: Hey, assholes! We’ve got work to do!
Charlie: I thought that I’d surprise my mother-
Angel: If you can find her-
Everyone: Who asked you?!

honestly as much as I hate when Jack is dumbed down to the ‘destiel baby/lovechild’ (especially for domestic au reasons) I won’t pretend the actual textual aspect of it isn’t there yknow….like andrew dabb took an established trio, the Team Free Will and just stuck another guy in there and said “fuck you they have a kid now and this the cooler version of the established team.” if that happened in any other show I think it’d be the subject of at least twelve THE FALL OF THIS FRANCHISE type video essays on YouTube

dean winchester and autism because this man is autistic and i will not accept otherwise:
his reaction to sam giving him the giant slinky at the end of 7x14 'plucky pennywhistle's magical menagerie'
actually physically stimming when he enters the bunker with sam in 15x14 'last holiday' and sees the christmas decorations
the boxing episode, 11x15 'beyond the mat', where dean spends the entire episode fanboying and (for lack of a better word) plays in the boxing ring
wearing the same thing (flannel, jeans, in earlier seasons the leather jacket) almost all of the time while not in disguise to work cases
eating the same thing (cheeseburger with extra onions or pie) at almost everywhere they go, as often as he can (about dean winchester and food, i could talk about that for hours he has so many issues with it and it's all john winchester's fault)
his ability to recite movies line for line, and his tendency to communicate almost entirely through references and movie quotes, and expecting people to understand what he means
about references, he makes jokes and references when it's not appropriate, he doesn't understand that something isn't appropriate in a situation where it isn't specifically pointed out to him, and he generally has a pretty messed up sense of empathy and inability to 'read the room'
‘you’re always calling me a geek, but you know every word to every led zeppelin song, backwards and forwards. you can discuss in detail every major rock drummer between ’67 and ’84… and you watch ‘jeopardy!’ every night.’ - directly quoted from sam winchester in 14x20 'moriah'
in 13x06 'tombstone' when they go into the motel and dean talks about the cowboys, identifying all of them and going into quite a bit of detail about a few of them, even though nobody asked him about it and he is absolutely infodumping. 'he really likes cowboys.' 'yes. yes, he does.'
his knowledge of cars, particularly baby, and how he takes her for a ride when he's sad because of the comfort she provides him. also about baby and comfort, the way he offers to let people drive baby when he realises that they're sad, thinking it'll make them feel better as she makes him happy and he doesn't understand how else to help
in 1x03 'dead in the water' he talks to lucas about how he didn't speak as a kid, he plays with the toy soldiers and it doesn't come across as playing with them to make lucas trust him, it actually comes across as him finding genuine enjoyment in it
in 1x15 'the benders' when he's talking to the kid who mentions godzilla, dean brightens immediately and goes off topic talking about his favourite godzilla film, and has to be reminded that he's working a case by sam
the entirety of 14x04 'mint condition', how dean gets to express his interests and be himself and how a lot of people have mentioned that he seems to be genuinely himself in that episode instead of the act he puts on
larping with charlie, no explanation needed
he shuts down when things go badly, often blasting music and ignoring everything and everyone around him
he always picks scissors when playing rock, paper, scissors, and it's actually something that comes up multiple times within the show - in 2x17 'heart', sam says, 'dean, always with the scissors,' and along the same lines, his excitement both times he actually wins the game
in 1x04 'phantom traveller', dean is terrified because of the plane and sam points out that he's humming metallica. he replies that it calms him down, and that just seems very autistic

honestly the more i skim the surface into the beat generation writers, the more i become astounded that Supernatural was EVER considered to have been intended for a straight audience
let me back up
Kripke, creator of Supernatural, has cited Jack Kerouac's On The Road as a major inspiration for the show. Dean Winchester was named for Dean Moriarty, and Sam was inspired by Sal.
The general premise of the novel is, at first glace, a story about two men roadtripping around 1940s america. (supernatural: the show about two guys roadtripping around america hunting monsters)
But the novel was ACTUALLY a roman à clef based on Keroac's own experiences with his friends, the Beatnik generation writers. The novel's main character Sal is Jack himself, Dean Moriarty is Neal Cassady, and a side character Carlo Marx is their friend Allen Ginsberg.
Allen Ginsberg, who, notably, had a sexual relationship with Neal Cassady and who published a poem extremely famous for being censored for its depictions of homosexuality: Howl.
So once you scratch the surface of Supernatural's "major inspiration", there's easy ties of gayness to Dean Winchester. Just like that. Dean's namesake is the stand-in character for a guy who fucked the guy who wrote one of the most famous queer poems of all time.
I think we all like to think of supernatural as this show that started as For The Guys that we as an audience turned gay by shipping two characters too hard. but i think that the gay undertones were ALWAYS there, whether intentional or not. we just uncovered them, brought them to light, celebrated them.
if that isn't a beautiful metaphor for queer self-discovery then idk what is

I'm even less normal about Samifer in 2024 than I was in 2010, so here are some random Samifer/Angel headcannons I've come up with for my fic:
The Enochian language is genderless and the very foundation of it rests heavily on Names. An angel's POV would pretty much only refer to themselves as "the angel/the 'class of angel'/Name" (Basically all angels are Lorathi for GRRM nerdos). Before The Fall, Lucifer's name was Samael, but that name was stripped away during The Fall so that Lucifer can no longer refer to themselves as that, and a hole was punched in the Song of Creation to remove the name "Samael," and replace it by adjective titles like "Lucifer."
The first real act of creation by God, when he became God and began to pull away from The Darkness instead of trying to create things just to prove their worth to her, was creating light that was then split into the first four archangels. Michael is therefore not just God's firstborn son, but the first thing in all of creation. (And he's remarkably chill about it)
When God created Gabriel, the idea struck him to create things in his own image, which is why Gabriel is Like That, with God's sense of humor and propensity to Run The Fuck Away from conflict.
Lucifer manipulated events, possibly all the way back to Babylon, to not only try to plant the name "Samael" into the human lexicon but also make sure Sam was named as close to their own name as possible. (This is Super Weirdo Behavior. Michael Did Not need to put his name on Dean like a pair of underwear packed for summer camp.)
Sam thinks that Lucifer is flirting in a super dramatic angel way when they refer to Sam as "the only one throughout all of existence and all of creation," only to find out that alongside Boy King of Hell and True Vessel of Lucifer and The Abomination, another little epithet that existed eons before he was born was "Throughout All Of Existence And All of Creation, Sam Winchester Is The Last And Only Gift For Lucifer Created By God Himself."
"Lucifer's Nephillim" is a metaphor for something completely impossible in Enochian, as in "humans inventing the microwave is as likely as Lucifer creating a nephillim."
Before The Fall, Lucifer commanded the Cherubim, which includes the lower-class "Cherubs," but before humans they were all extremely powerful warrior angels second only to Michael's Seraphim. After The Fall, the ones that didn't die in the struggle were demoted and cast out and put on "grunt duty" on earth, which in turn broke and warped them into the "Cherubs" that they are today due to constant and close proximity with humans.
Angels like autistic heavens because we're the closest humans get to perceiving the Song of Creation in our senses. Lucifer's gonna get trapped by God inside a girl who's autistic about crabs.
Lucifer's first vessel Nick is actually named Nick Campbell, and he's Mary Winchester's first cousin who ran away and became a carpenter instead of a hunter because Fuck You Dark!Fic Nick Storyline I Cared Who Nick Was 8 Years Before The CW Did.
