but all it took was finding the right writers who know how to take something ‘dark’ and turn it into a masterpiece for all that to change

I still read fluff from time to time but the second I see people saying they had to stop reading a fic bc it was too traumatizing my curiosity spikes. some of us prefer to read about things that aren’t always peaceful and happy, because *gasp* preference.

its just like any form of fiction we digest, horror films for example. like is it for everyone? no. are you going to find the director and send them anonymous letters that they suck for making a film u shouldn’t have watched in the first place? no

mind you, in America at least, we are told non-fictional stories of mass genocide, wars, racism, sexism, and if ur raised religious(like I was) you read abt a man being abused, stoned, hung on a cross and starved for days while people cheered for him to die. also if your school is anything like mine was- u do plays depicting it as children lmao. I got to play mary magdalene(whore pelted with stones). crazy shit to try to understand when your brain is the size of an apple and you have no life experience.

but god forbid anyone write fictional shit you can easily scroll past and block…..I hit ‘dismiss’ on post’s recommended to me multiple times per day. why is that such a difficult concept to grasp?😂 IS SOMEONE FORCING FANFIC U HATE DOWN UR THROAT BRO?!?🤨

there is so much to be angry about in this world, especially in 2023. fanfic is not one of them and if you have the time to be furious over what people write and post online in their free time to a few thousand who will read and enjoy it, then I envy you….. because what a boring mundane simple life you must live. I wish I had that type of time on my hands. I’d be able to write way more fic.

my whole family got Opinions about my aunts parenting choices. the bitchers (speaking very quietly w the door closed in the room my parents are staying in)
