Would any folks from the disability side of Tumblr who have lost a limb (or were born without one) be interested in talking with me a bit?

I'm creating a graphic novel for the 10-12 age range about a girl who is training to be a knight. She loses a leg in an accident or illness and is considered "no longer a viable candidate" by the teacher, and is told to go home. Instead she takes a job taking care of the knights' horses until she can figure out what to do and ends up meeting another girl missing a leg who happens to be a smith's apprentice/inventor and who makes her own legs. The apprentice offers to make the girl a leg that she can use to continue her knight's training. I want part of it to be about adjusting to a new normal, being creative with her solutions, and working her butt off to be a knight. I have a chronic illness and a depiction that acknowledges the reality of the challenges of day to day feels really important to me.

Having the input of folks who have actually lost limbs (or were born without, since I think the apprentice will have been born without a leg) would be beyond helpful in making this realistic and grounded in the ways that matter.

This will be set in a fantasy world that has a tiny bit of steampunk feel and a lot of European fantasy feel. The knights project the realm from monsters. There is no magic, I think. The two main characters are poc and there will be queerness involved but I haven't decided whether I want the main two to be romantically involved or not! Decisions. But the main character's surrogate parent (the horsemaster) is def gonna be nonbinary.

Sorry i rambled so much, I'm just really excited!

been saying this for years but orianna skins NEED to get weirder. she's a wind-up ballet robot or whatever but most of her skins are just pretty human lady like we don't already have a million of those. if they want to give her human skin they need to COMMIT and go the m3gan route. creepy doll (sewn chaos the only one that got that right)

she's got a ball where is the Dunkmaster Orianna?? the ball shouldn't be an afterthought! it's a unique element of her character design! build off of that!!

also more robot/non-human stuff!!!

like idk she's got such a weird premise but most of the time she ends up a generic outfit human woman. what's the point

#shes cool as fuck to me bc when I first played jfa I found her really frustrating to deal with #not just as Phoenix but I mean like on a personal level she is challenging because she’s so thorough #and yet I also find it fascinating that she breaks the character she’s built for herself once in a while #i 100% believe that I don’t think she would have caught on to what Phoenix was trying to do while stalling for time with engardes trial #so it’s probably a good thing edgeworth subbed in but she literally busts her ass to bring evidence to court #almost right after having a bullet extracted from her WHICH SHE ALSO PRESENTS AS EVIDENCE. thats metal as fuck ok #especially since she would technically have nothing to do with the case after edgeworth fills in and she still decided to do that anyway #maybe it was blind faith to use that evidence to win since she wasn’t there for most of the trial but still #and even if canon doesn’t give it to me I still firmly believe there’s be at least some chemistry between her and Maya #like especially if you hold it next to wrightworth that works bc there’s already a history there and majority of Phoenix and miles trying #to relearn their relationship is Phoenix coaxing out that side of Miles that he remembers from fourth grade #but with Franmaya it’s something new and they’re basically strangers to each other and one of them almost got the other convicted #and I still think that’s fascinating and it’s a damn shame thay half of the fics I find for them on ao3 is background in wrightworth fic #i did find a good one that touched on Franziska trying to win pearls approval because Pearl does hold a grudge against her #and seeing that trying to live up to perfecting even her personal relationships without getting to know Pearl to even know #why it wasn’t working feels believable when I think abt her as a character yk #myart #my art #doodles #aa #ace attorney #franziska von karma

like yeah. at certain ages... let shit go. im not defending the real immature shit. im not defending the karen you're picturing. i worked in retail i hate those people too. (once somebody got mad at me because she didn't like how our winter window decor was a snowman smoking a pipe. i wish i was joking).

but men at 57 will write books about how 17 year old girls are soooo sexy. they will invent worlds where women have to be naked for "armor reasons." they will write songs that treat women as objects. people rush to defend them. meanwhile a woman at 35 will be like "heartbreak is hard, actually" or "i feel betrayed by a friend" or "i am struggling with something emotionally." immediately people will say stuff like this woman is 35 by the way. by the way this woman is SO OLD to be experiencing this. BY THE WAY.

im 31, almost 32. the other day a poet was blasted online because at her "big age", she had written a poem about feeling unloved. top comment was "this woman is 29 by the way." this woman is too old to still be useful, by the way. she has to behave better . maybe if she was a good wife and mother she could stop existing loudly, and the story could continue on without her. this woman has served her purpose, by the way. she's so cringe, by the way. at 29 - so old! - she still hasn't figured out that her existence should be one of shame.

#like. idk. not every piece of art about dark subject matter is going to be straightforward in saying 'THIS IS BAD THIS IS BAD' outright #and i don't think it's a bad thing. on the contrary i think if art that depicts dark subject matter is condemned #for not portraying it as Terrible and Bad or Rebuking It Outright and Blatantly #then a whole lot of very interesting art would be condemned and shunned and that's a damn shame #mine #media

I’ve always had an issue with the way that the modern world is presented to us. Like supposedly it is the most advanced but that feels wrong to me. I mean when was the last time that an up and coming world leader went to meet a homeless man? When was the last time that someone arrived in your town and everyone panicked because they’re bad luck? How many people in your town have a Unique title? When was the last time you ran into The Sungraced Poppy in the produce section of Kroger and suddenly understood what those poets praising her beauty were talking about? When did you accidentally cut in front of The Bulldog of Paris at Starbucks and found out that he was actually pretty nice? What happened to us? When did the world become so small that we don’t give titles to folks from little one road towns but so large that most people won’t ever meet someone who could be identified by a title? I think that’s a large part of why I like fiction and especially fantasy. It reads like how my heart feels the world ought to be. The Red Devil is just a little girl with red hair fire powers and a bit of a temper but you can run into her in the town square feeding the birds. The prince sneaking out to moonlight as The Pale Shadow or whatever edgy name the alter ego was given could be caught by a little girl putting out the laundry. A farmer taking up a sword to defend his home might drive the invading armies to the border and return to beat his sword into a plow. I have a B.A. in History. I know that these sorts of things happened. But I don’t see them nowadays. I’ve never met anyone who could be described by two words and locals would go “Ah yeah that guy.” And... That feels like it’s an important part of life that is missing. Our world got larger. More people have access to us and can influence our lives. I could probably find dozens of articles all on different people from Ontario written in the last year. I live 1000′s of miles from Ontario. I only talk with one person who lives there. I shouldn’t be able to tell you what their current infrastructure policies are. But in a few hours I could have found them, found the politicians in charge of developing them, and have reached out about any ideas I might have. Our world got a whole lot bigger as we advanced. And we didn’t. The world feels empty as a result. There’s too much void when we scream. And so the void rarely screams back.

Scientists and professors have begun documenting wild Eevee with little to no human socialization that are becoming reclusive, feral, harder to capture, and eventually growing to undocumented sizes.

It's a well known fact that Eevee's normally unpredictable and Volatile DNA stabilizes after evolving. However that seems untrue for Eeon, as it retains a largely diverse moveset, embracing its constantly changing genetic structure.

This instability and lack of human interaction makes Eeon threatening to stumble across in the wild, and caution is advised.
