The whole concept here is that something was happening at the moment, be it how they were laying in bed, how the hair pooled over the pillow, or how sokka was able to hold onto it. A long, unnecessary (in his opinion) meeting was finally coming to a close and Naomasa was standing off to the side taking notes (and maybe checking his watch to see how long there was till this wrapped up). He was in a semi-crowded briefing room full of people; those in high ranks from other precincts and heroes both, but he was still able to feel someone looking at him and he looked up from his notes to subtly glance around. His gaze found Toshinori's, catching his friend looking at him and his breath caught.

It's not like Toshinori hadn't ever looked at him before. He had of course, but this was...softer. More tender. Affectionate. Endeared. Loving-- All things he'd seen other people be on the receiving end of. The weight of it could have had him look away, embarrassed, but he held it. Did Toshinori even realize he was looking at him until he looked back? Probably not and the thought made him huff out a soft laugh under his breath.

His own expression softened, his smile small, warm and fond. He even lifted a hand just enough for Toshinori to notice, wiggling his fingers in a hello.
