Okay y'all , since I mentioned Baxter, I have a little idea (not calling this a headcanon, specifically because he hasn't had a big appearance in the show, yet. I'll decide if I headcanon or trash this based on his later appearances). Of course, this is all assuming that Viv intentionally made his appearance based on a female anglerfish, and didn't just not know what a male looked like or decided to do so because female anglers are more identifiable.

So I have two main ideas: Baxter might be trans, but only realized it after dying, or Baxter is trans, but in denial about it. Then a small third is based on the idea that their forms take more after things they hate.

So the first idea: Viv said that the appearance of sinners is based on their life, I think. So if that's true, I wouldn't really expect there to be a very identifiable sign that he was AFAB if he lived the end of his life as masculine. Like, maybe the lure would be more hidden, or would only appear in his demonic form or when using magic, but I'd expect him to be able to hide it in some way. HOWEVER, if he only realized he was trans after dying, he'd probably take on a more feminine form in Hell, as his life wouldn't have been impacted by it. So, his lure would be harder, or maybe too uncomfortable to hide, due to it being linked to the fact that he lived his entire life identifying as female.

Idea two: He's actually transfem, AMAB, but in denial. His lure is there because he knew he was trans feminine, be it identifying as a transgender woman, or somewhere on the more feminine side of the trans spectrum, but he's in denial of it. So, in Hell, it's lingering over him the entire time, reminding him that he isn't a cis man, but he's trying to ignore it.

Mini third option: Regardless of whether he's trans feminine, trans masculine, or enby, that lure is there because he doesn't like the fact he's trans. It is a big part of who he is, but it caused problems during life, so he feels uncomfortable about it.
