this is seemingly out of nowhere but I'm writing my thesis for my Bachelor's degree and I stared at my 5k words that I wrote in two excruciating weeks... and I could think was "Erin writes like 25k words for every chapter"

erin can write 25k for a chapter 'cause it's a lot easier to yap about superheroes. and erin also thinks that you're doing amazing and should be super proud of the progress you've made!! we all have our comes and goings for inspiration and motivation. treat your work like it's your child! meaning: you gotta feed it (research), water it (taking mental breaks), play with it (explore all the ideas possible, even if it's silly), and love it endlessly (be proud, go to it's baseball games, enjoy your progress so far, imagine your future with it).

your dreams and aspirations are mighty!! and you are not weak for having to build up to carrying them

Gotham City Map!

I looked everywhere and I couldn't find any official or unofficial map that would make sense for me. Of course canon is in shambles and really - you can't make canon accurate map. So I made my own. It took sooooo much time, and I'm no cartograph, so proportions are off, but I'm pretty content with myself.

So much reaserch...

The biggest change I did was Bristol's place. It should be North, and almost every canon map agrees. But I didn't like it. We know Batman does not patrol in Crime Alley and The Hill much, and Wayne Manor would be just too close! So I moved it closer to the Wayne Tower and more Midtown and Downtown.

Also, an ick for me are The Narrows. I always imagined The Narrows right next to CA and like every of those more crime ridden neighbourhoods. But no. And it's once again canon consistency here. And even if sometimes Narrows were more North, it's always a seperate island. The more you know I guess. It ended up fitting for me so I let it be that way.

And yes. I did add Batburger and made it be everywhere. I don't regret.

Not dead promise. Middle of exam season, slowly killing me, cannot write. Words no appear. Will likely be back sometime mid June when I’m all finished and have the time. I MISS HAVING IDEASSS

just got blocked by a person who started a harassment campaign against someone and they probably will do the same for me so let me be clear: I am not a proshipper. if you look through any of my posts you’ll recognize that instantly.

However, I do think screaming the username of someone who has no notes and zero reach on the internet in order to get praised as a hero and “warn people” is a little performative and over the top. And it kind of shows that you’re willing to seek people out in order to harass them which is a little strange to say the least 👍

I swear my brain produces sleep hormones in reverse.

I wake up almost EVERY morning feeling like total crap. Drag myself to breakfast and get a cold shower.

The cold shower has helped me maintain some energy and the will to fight for motivation during the day! Yay!

It’s also reduced my anxiety from severe to MANAGEABLE! Sometimes even to barely existent but those days I take too many risks and say too much impulsively, so manageable is the sweet spot.

Anyway, as SOON as it gets dark, my brain turns ON! And suddenly everything is great! Everything is fun/funny! I feel the FLOW! All the motivation I was lacking is BACK! I want to do it all!

And crap, it’s usually bedtime.

BUT NOT LATELY!

I guess what I’m trying to say is THANK GOODNESS FOR SHORTER DAYS AND LONGER NIGHTS! DARK AT 5pm FOR THE WIN!

I have no idea what I’ll do come summertime. Probably double up on cold showers, honestly.

I can FEEL the effects of the shower wear off around 11pm-12am and that’s usually when I wind up googling stuff that gives me anxiety. Been trying to read fanfic instead! Or just retreating into my imagination for STORY IDEAS!
