I don’t care for this episode, really, but there are some really striking visuals in it, and it’s one of the most successful episodes in the later years as far as set decoration. It really reflects the change in the times.…we are definitely in the 70s here.

Love the shot of Fred reflected in the photographs, and it takes on a completely different meaning when you see the television set/the title card to “This is Your Life” isolated like that.

And, of course, it has one of the more remarkable Joan/Morse interactions of the entire nine seasons. His alcoholism adds a nice dimension to everything as well.

I wish the episode had been more successful from a storytelling/interest point of view, but this gifset is gorgeous.
