Oh, this is an interesting question to consider. I don't feel that (regular) Yein has any enemies that persist for too long. If anyone had truly ill intentions toward them, Yein would more than likely take care of it. Their twin brother Sacheo isn't so easily dealt with, however.

Yein does love their twin, and he loves them.

For many years, Yein would have likely told Sacheo, "I don't wanna fight." These are the first words in this song. Further along, you've got the following verse:

When you said the pain weathers in time We're just waitin' for a change to follow We don't always get all that we want Redefine the pain to somethin' more And we shall overcome, as we've done before

The lyrics and the tone of the song speak of difficulties or obstacles that need to be weathered through, again and again. The song might encapsulate Yein's voice asking Sacheo to work past these painful feelings between them ⸺ as many times as they must.

Yein did ultimately kill him, but he came back anyway to keep them company. Now they're both (un)dead!

was talking with a friend about how some of dunmeshi fаndom misunderstands kabru's initial feelings towards laios.

to sum up kabru's situation via a self-contained modernized metaphor:

kabru is like a guy who lost his entire family in a highly traumatic car accident. years later he joins a discord server and takes note of laios, another server member who seems interesting, so they start chatting. then laios reveals his special interest and favorite movie of all time is David Cronenberg's Crash (1996), and invites kabru to go watch a demolition derby with him

having good & true friends will literally save and protect you in a million unfathomable ways. like okay we have written so many times about lovers. but the way a platonic friend laughs and cries with you. the way they hold your hand at 14 years old and at 34. the way they keep a little silver tie to you, touching base over and over and over. how you can go years without talking, only to re-meet and discover: oh shit! you're still cool!

there are people who have been in my life for more than half of it, and i have loved every version of them. do you know how fucking beautiful that is. yeah love will save the world. but the way friends love you is gonna save the you.

I think the invention of the term "traumadump" has done discussion of mental health a lot of harm. I keep seeing discourse vs whether or not it's okay to talk about heavy topics with your friends, and like... I feel like there is a very big and important difference between my definition of traumadumping (ie. Frequently and habitually diverting your conversations with others towards your own misery, often with the goal of focusing attention and sympathy towards yourself at the expense of those around you, and without recognizable effort to reciprocate your empathy towards those you are speaking to or to ensure their comfort) VS the mere act of having heavier conversations with those around you. I've seen a lot of backlash to the idea of traumadumping as a concept lately (they paywalled human connection etc etc) but I think it's worth recognizing there is absolutely a kind of behavior that can create a negative feedback loop with this stuff. Especially if you navigate a lot of spaces in social media, it's not uncommon to find people dropping really heavy stuff on complete strangers unprompted. Idk, I think there's a degree of nuance to be had that's maybe getting a bit lost due to everyone having different definitions of what it means to "trauma dump."

#as a moderator for several large discords #i can tell you with first hand experience that yes #traumadumping can be a real problem #but also youre allowed to have heart to hearts with friends #idk

im annoyed and a little pedantic so can i just say as a blanket statement

queerbaiting is when the promotion for a FICTIONAL STORY intentionally hints towards two characters having a romantic relationship, without any intention to follow through in the show, in order to get queer people watching without discouraging the homophobic enjoyers of the show

queerbaiting is NOT:

a celebrity who you think is queer because theyre gnc or they have a 'vibe'. that is a real person and they cannot queerbait

two friends of the same gender pretending to flirt with each other for fun. those are real people and they cannot queerbait

a show with two characters of the same gender who are canonically friends that YOU PERSONALLY think would be better in a relationship. that's not bating, that's shipping, and subject to opinion

there are more but those are the main examples of people misunderstanding what queerbaiting is and being mad at something that isn't actually a problem

#the general rule if youre unsure is to ask yourself 'is that a real person i think is hinting that they are queer' and if the answer is yes #then that cannot be queerbaiting because thats a human person #apparently this is not a known fact anymore but even celebrities are human and have human emotions and human experiences #so sometimes their experiences appear to match yours and if your experience stems from your queer identity then often you can assume that #the celebrity in question is also queer #you may be right but you're probably wrong because you do not know that celebrity and have no way of knowing if they do not explicitly say #also its none of your business #anyway im annoyed at how many people dont know what queerbaiting is anymore #no jimmy solidarity and joel smallishbeans are not queerbaiting because they are FRIENDS and they are allowed to interact with each other #however they like because they are FRIENDS and they are not even remotely trying to hint that they themselves are queer or something #queerbaiting #queer #lgbtq #wren wrambles
