i disappear for a few days and miss an entire conversation abt gabriel molting

so yes, molting is indeed partially triggered by hormones with a mixture of seasonal changes. while molting birds are Very grumpy and. ya know. hormonal. as a bird owner this is a terrible time to own a bird bc theres feathers and dust Everywhere, the flying toddler is grumpy as all hell and if youre extra unlucky you'll have to try and find ways to have them Not mate with anything they can.

why are they grumpy? well besides hormones running rampant theyre also losing and regaining feathers very quickly which is not only taxing for the body but also Very Uncomfortable. pin feathers are new feathers that are growing in and are uncomfortable and itchy as hell. theyre surrounded by a protective keratin sheath so it doesnt get damaged while developing. why would it be a bad thing to get damaged? bc while feathers are growing theyre connected to a blood supply. cut a growing feather and youve got a Lot of blood (which is very bad for smaller birds bc they dont got much blood in their bodies). though once the feather is fully developed the blood will retreat and its safe to take out of the sheath. but during that time of waiting for the blood to retreat they just have a small pin sticking out of them that hurts like a bitch when moved wrong. many times i have faced the wrath of my son bc i touched a pin feather wrong.

now another thing id like to note since someone here brought up how long itd take and estimated around 6 weeks. thats how long it takes for a Small bird to molt. now lets consider gabe. hes huge. hes gonna take more than 6 weeks. cockatoos spend months molting all their feathers. developing feathers takes time and a Lot of energy so the bigger the bird the longer it needs. and even with just his wings is still a Lot of feathers to lose. so i'd say rough guess give or take gabe would be stuck molting for maybe around 6 months. at least on the bright side he'd only molt every 2-3 years. which is so very lucky for an immortal being (sarcasm)

for birds preening is a form of maintenance. we brush our hair they preen their feathers. we take showers they also take baths in their water bowls they just dunked their own food into and you watch in disappointment. not Every bird can just preen each other. they have to trust you to do something so meticulous (itd be Very easy to fuck it up or rip out feathers if one wanted to). for pet birds this is something owners can assist in (and if you have a freak like me will also beg you to do it) but ONLY around the head and neck. everywhere else is an erogenous zone (except for the feet but they hate getting their feet touched anyway) so you shouldnt touch it. ever. that is for mates only and if you touch there youre sending messages you Dont want to send and can lead to a lot of behavioral issues

so with all of the above context you can imagine how itd be complicated for a "first time" interaction ("trying to stay out of overly sexual territory" i say then fall flat on my face (im not doing this on purpose i swear </3)). wings are very much a no-no square in multiple contexts so itd be something to negotiate both the relationship and the level of trust they have with each other. me personally i wouldnt let a violent gopro touch my wings unless i knew it wouldnt try to snap them in half first. but with these kinds of situations it can be fun to incorporate the buildup of trust to allowing someone to touch gabes wings. preening is something that is done carefully. it can be to relieve an itch, check for mites, rearrange feathers, or to just simply scratch a good spot (like playing with your own hair). but in the end its a form of gentle intimacy between two beings that trust each other

now there are multiple ways you can go about this. me personally im a professional nonsexual intimacy enjoyer so i greatly enjoy it when preening is more of a bonding activity. though you can also go about it in a more sexual way which i know you fuckers will love to take advantage of

Sheo/The Nailsmith:

It's really nice because you unlock it after the nailsmith asks you to kill him with the pure nail and you refuse and walk away. He then says he was wandering hallownest without purpose until he found sheo who helped him discover that there was more to life than just one calling. These two are probably the only characters in the game to have a genuinely happy ending

The nailsmith loses his purpose in life after finishing his ultimate masterpiece, his lifelong goal, the pure nail. He requests the protagonist to try the nail on him, but If you refuse, he will find sheo who helps him to find new meaning in life and realise that there is more to life by teaching him different crafts. They can then be seen sculping figurines together, and sheo is also painting the nailsmith.They share a common love for art and crafts and inspire each other. Sheo's story is that he was a nailmaster, but got tired of it, and put down his nail to pick up a paintbrush. I think it's beautiful that he could help the nailsmith realise what he himself did. They both also used to live in solitude without even realising how lonely they were, and I think it's cute tuhat they can do art together now :]

They are two bugs retired from their career and making better lives for themselves and they’re gay about it. Nailsmith believes at first that he has nothing left after creating the perfect nail and asks the knight to strike him down, and if you don’t, he meets Sheo, a retired nailmaster finding a new calling in painting and sculpting. They find a shared love in creating things and Nailsmith finds a new calling in art as well. The achievement you get for uniting them is called “Happy Couple”

Sheo realized he could just leave that life when he lost his passion for fighting, and he found himself a new purpose in life: art. However, he always seemed very lonely, completely isolated by all other bugs in his hidden house in the middle of a thorn jungle. When The Nailsmith achieved his goal and forged the perfect nail, he lost his purpose in life and his will to live. He asks the player to kill him. However, if the player refuses, he can later be found in Sheo's house, modelling for Sheo or sculpting figurines with him. He thanks the player for not fulfilling his request, because he has found a new calling in life here, making art together with Sheo. They both express how happy they are to no longer be alone. This also gives you the "Happy Couple" achievement, confirming that they are a couple.

THEY'RE CANON!!! They're fucking canon!!! You can talk to them at one point after doing a Bunch of Stuff to get them to meet each other and you get an achievement called "Happy Couple"!!! Gotta love old man yuri

I'm so glad you enjoyed them! Fem!Sanji is fun to write, especially when no one knows she's a girl because how can you not know? She is Zeff's little girl! The dumb brat he gave up a leg for on a rock! She is his pride and joy, and everyone knows this!! Also, I love the idea of the burn mark and the confusion therein for Sanji because Chopper thinks she's trans masc when she's not, she's just waiting for her mom's genes to kick in more. Also the shipping, I agree with East Blue Polycule because you can fit all that in together in one go and no one is going ask questions. But I'm getting ahead of myself and skipping to the regulars first so that I can get some funny scenarios out of my head first.

First, Mihawk has watched this girl grow up and probably saw the fall out after shortly after Zeff butchered her hair. When he asked about it, he gave Zeff the most unimpressed look Zeff has ever received because good fuck he could have just braided it until they got into town? That's all he says about that because Sanji is still upset her hair is gone. Then some years later he's calling Zeff and asking when Sanji changed her gender and Zeff is confused because she hasn't but anyone and everyone are calling her a boy, even that crew she set off with. Mihawk is staring out of his office with the denden with an empty gaze as the greenhaired moron he almost slaughtered on the deck of Baratie is in his castle with one of his fellow warlords first mates and he's having a time but at least that hasn't changed.

Buggy is also probably really confused about 'Black Leg Sanji' and "his feats" and when Garp is arresting him they're debating whether or not Sanji would be a good marine until Garp calls her a boy and Buggy corrects him. Garp is staring down at the clown who looks back and is like 'wait, wait. Zeff's called her "princess" and you never questioned why he would call his son that?' to Garp's non-committal shrug of 'He's Zeff.' which, okay yeah, sure. It's Zeff but Zeff never used it in a derogatory manor. Sanji is quite literally his princess. She is the princess of the Baratie that Buggy used to do card tricks for because Zeff had no idea what the hell to do with kids.

Now onto the hilarity because East Blue Poly would be exceptionally hilarious. They all start dating and Sanji thinks Nami is going through a sexuality crisis because she's a girl where as Nami thinks Sanji's a boy and it's never cleared up. Sanji looks particularly butch because it made her life easier at Baratie, and she doesn't want to ruin dresses and skirts and blouses with cooking or blood. She also just never really wore make up unless Baratie was closed for some celebration or something, when she had a reason to doll up because she was so busy. Also she wakes up and goes to bed before and after everyone else so no one catches she's a girl. I think the hilarious exception of Ace clocking it in Alabasta and telling Luffy he's got the prettiest girl and the best cook wrapped in one is an amazing thing and Luffy goes with it but still asks why Ace called Sanji a girl and Ace is confused now. They never clear it up.

When Sanji is training and everyone is talking about forcing her into dresses Sanji is like 'I don't need to be forced, I love dresses! I just don't like ruining them with blood.' and coming back to Sabaody with a few dresses, skirts, blouses, more fem clothing and everyone is like 'you don't have to wear those if they make you uncomfortable' is sending some weird messages to her so she just doesn't wear them still. For the wrong reasons and everyone is confused. Like WCI when Sanji's in her wedding dress and fighting and mourning the blood on the dress and Luffy and Nami are asking her why she's in one because she doesn't wear that stuff and Sanji says she thought they didn't like them on her and the very quick explanation of 'we thought you were a boy!' is Sanji going 'How?' as Nami complains she had a sexuality crisis for nothing until Luffy asks about him, Zoro, and Usopp; Nami concedes that the crisis wasn't for nothing then.

Nami makes sure she's in a kimono like she and Robin are as an apology because they didn't realize that Sanji was a girl and was just dressing for convenience, she's not a boy and was a princess and she is loved.

Also my con was lovely but I'm so glad it's over.

"God forbid god forbid god forbid", this is the repetitive phrase thats been circling on my mind(besides reader's character) because god forbid IF megumi finds out how you and gojo's relationship actually started, he would be the one that's in a pinch between saving his mom or keeping the peace, like she would always do. Its still hard to imagine how he would act after that revelation, but its no brainer he wont ever see nor respect gojo in a new light ever again, plus he would only feel with the intent to hurt(kill) gojo whenever they cross paths (lmaooo homicidal tendencies passed down from father to son)

Would gojo and megumi level cities for you, or would megumi just accept this shit, stew along his hatred and just get all resigned and tired feeling animosity and loathing for gojo(but the hate will still remain until he dies), and would these all depend on megumi's age aligning to how he would act? Its hard to imagine him how he would be, poor baby

And the kicker is when they all got additions to the family! We know he will be a great older brother and despite a bit of dislike about them because of who their sire is, hes obviously not the kind of person who will pin the sins of their father on them when theyre innocent in all of this. Though would he be that sibling who would jab at gojo at every opportunity without ever revealing contexts or would he just keep silent and just have their ignorance about the nature of you three.

All in all, you and megumi wont be having a good time, and definitely WILL motivate you to not let an inkling of discomfort bleed even through your pore whenever megumi's around lest he gets wind of it. Sorry its all over the place

i don't think I'll ever want to actively explore what Megumi will do if he finds out what happened. I highly doubt Ms.rain or Gojo would ever be that obvious about it, especially Ms.rain. Something hinted throughout the story is how self-sacrificial ms.rain is. That's why Ms.rain can't even hate Gojo after what he did. Ms. rain will do everything possible to keep the peace. You not retaliating against Gojo is also largely due to Megumi himself. He's such a small kid and Gojo's the only connection he has to the jujutsu world. How could you break that?

Also, Megumi is still a kid. At ten years old, you aren't really worried about the weird politics happening with your mom. It may take Megumi a couple of years to start to question why you and gojo's relationship seems so...off. Maybe someone else comments on it first, and now he's also finding it strange that gojo's affection towards you is mostly unreciprocated. It might have to do that you're shy, not a fan of PDA, but you almost seem indifferent...even if a tiny bit uncomfortable.

I really wish I delved more into Megumi and Gojo's relationship within the fic (but it was already 10k words long, i was not in the mood to make it longer), but I hope i implied how much Megumi respected Gojo. Their relationship is the same as the canon version. He thinks the world of gojo (despite acting otherwise), it will take a while for him to even question this new development between you and Gojo.

In the end, I think his reaction would be to quickly shut it down and ignore it. Of course your relationship was strange-Gojo is strange. Besides, gojo makes you happy. He buys you new clothes, jewelry, showers you with gifts. You two even have a baby on the way and he's seen the way you've been reminiscing over his baby photos. As long as you're happy, he shouldn't care.

i watched the x-men films for the first time ever here are my thoughts *spoilers obviously* :D

small backstory: i was going to go watch Deadpool & Wolverine however i have seen the previous deadpool movies but i’ve never watch the x-men films at all, my knowledge of that universe is minimal. my coworker suggested i at least watch Logan before watching Deadpool & Wolverine so i did.

Logan is easily one of the best Marvel films i have ever watched in my life, like top 3 films for sure it was amazing im still thinking about this movie weeks later. so i watch Deadpool & Wolverine and realize im low key obsessed with logan so might as well watch all the x-men films ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

ALSO I HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE FROM THE COMICS DONT COME FOR ME

The Original Trilogy

Overall i enjoyed the first two films, i think The Last Stand might be my least favorite of the whole franchise im not gonna lie

i’m just gonna say it, i was so not here for the Logan & Jean romance, like im kind of a hater so if this upsets you than this post is not for you lmao

Right of the bat, Logan & Jean’s romance felt SO forced. like it wasn’t believable for me, in the first movie it felt like Logan decided he was in love with Jean, not that he is actively falling in love with her, it was kinda weird

Meanwhile you can like clearly tell that Scott & Jean are in love with each other, but it feels like Logan’s character is just disregarding that

I understand in the comics it’s supposed to be a love triangle of sorts, i just think that if they wanted to do that for the films they could have portrayed it better

Origins wasn’t like, super terrible? i guess? my least favorite of this trilogy for sure though

i liked the plot twist that his girlfriend of 6 years was manipulating him, i didn’t see it coming, i was like WOW that’s fucked up

was disappointed he forgave her like wtf 😭

deadpool thing was weird i didn’t like that

The Wolverine was a decent film, if ur looking for an x-men film that’s more action centric than mutant centric this is your film

it felt like a wolverine side quest lol, nothing crazy going on, but i liked it more than Origins

snake lady’s powers were cool

this girl is never going to see logan again so at least she got what she could

it goes without saying that Logan 2017 is the best film in the whole x-men/fox franchise

i could definitely make a whole post going into a deep dive of Logan but i’ll just keep it short

Logan’s dedication to taking care of Charles warms my heart in a way you cannot imagine, he truly cares so deeply for that man, charles gave him the opportunity of having a new family and i feel like logan will always be grateful for him

it was like watching Logan go from only caring about kids in a “i’m a teacher” way to seeing Laura in a “i’m her caretaker now” kind of way, like there was a shift in his character that he wasn’t expecting

my little family of three that definitely lived happily ever after

my favorite scene of the whole film was when Logan realizes that it was his clone self that stabbed Charles, and his immediate gut reaction was to say “It wasn’t me” and to reassure Charles that Logan would NEVER do that

so that Charles would never die thinking one of his closest friends (AND SON FIGURE) would ever betray him like that and kill him

oh boy here go

right off the bat i’m going to say Days of Future Past exceeds all four of these films, so fucking good, my favorite after Logan

but yeah First Class wasn’t like, terrible per say, i just found myself a little bored ngl

absolutely here for eric & charles love story, they’re literally friends to lovers to enemies to still lovers but they’re still enemies i adore it

i liked the character that mystique brought (& jennifer lawrence) but it was just such a jump from the mystique in the first films

also i just think that if eric wants to kill his abuser then he should go for it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ just saying charles it was a lil weird u wanted to stop him

i get the premise, setting up the basis of the x-men, but i just found it a little lacking

DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

amazing 10/10 movie, i genuinely enjoyed every second, actually felt like a superhero movie

great balance of logan not knowing what the fuck is going on vs charles knowing exactly what to do next & logan just going along with it i love it

i’ve heard legends of how amazing quicksilver is in these films and this went beyond my expectations, fantastic character AND amazing showcase of his powers, the writers cooked on this, also makes me want to rewatch wandavision bc i didn’t appreciate his character enough son i’m so sorry

wasn’t the point of futures past that logan now in the present is experiencing the new timeline in which charles, scott, and jean are all alive

so why did jean die in this, does that not defeat the purpose, like she’s alive in the present

or were they trying to plan another prequel film in which she comes back, again. then it’s just a repeating storyline from the og trilogy

ok this would probably end up being an accidental fix it but um anyway

picture this, dark era dazai wandering around thinking up a new way to commit suicide

kunikida on his way back to the ada office after a mission

and atsushi who has managed to escape the orphanage and now is wandering in a new town

atsushi meets dazai while dazai's trying to drown himself like in canon

atsushi meets kunikida who notices a small starving kid drag someone out the river and immediately rushes to help

at this point kuni and dazai dont know each other

anyway

kunikida takes atsushi to eat and the drowning man is also there; they talk; atsushi is sweet

dazai's like "starving child do u wanna come with me" while kunikida is also inviting him to come w/ him to find a place to stay

now u might think why would dazai do this well idk something about a small child starving and exhausted but still finding in himself to help a stranger even tho itll leave him wet and cold was so surprising he didnt know what to do

and kunikida is just... kunikida and idk he's a nice guy

anyway

dazai and kunikida both argue atsushi should come with them and dazais like this guys probably right but its funny to see him riled up

anyway so theyre like okay whatever atsushi wut do u want

and atsushi, sweet tiny traumatized atsushi, doesn't wanna upset these ppl who seem so nice so he says both

and so the custody agreement starts

at first dazai doesn't tell anyone about atsushi becuz um who would want to admit they adopted a child to rile up a hot blond but

eventually as dazai and kunikida grow close to atsushi and to each other they find out about their jobs

kunikida is not happy about letting his son (whos only 4 years younger than him) live with mafia ppl around and makes dazai swear to protect him and dazais like okay fine ig

anyway

the only ppl who know atsushi in the mafia are oda and ango becuz um besties

chuuya knows somethings up but he hasnt quite figured it out

akutagawa has met atsushi but he doesn't know about atsushi and dazai

he does know this sweet kid who always greets him with a smile is under shared custody over two guys his brother who call themselves his dad but ya

atsushi isnt hiding it he's just shy around his first ever crush

anyway

atsushi loves the ada and fully wants to join but he also loves dazai but he has no desire to be with the mafia sense dazai has never let him meet anyone in the mafia while theyre on the clock if that makes sense

so essentially as my tags of the last post said

atsushi is the child of divorce that has to constantly move in between homes

but his parents are four years older than him

and not divorced becuz they arent even dating yet

and also he's accidentally the reason theyll ever get together

So something I'm definitely gonna write is a lil sequel the the Uncharted Series called Upheaval.

And this is specifically a chance for our favorite haunted toaster Evanora Harkness to team up with a returned-from-where-ever-gone-is Wanda Maximoff.

(I do intend to ensure Evanora is no longer a toaster by then because I just couldn't get the gravity of the fic right if Wanda spent the whole time taking a haunted toaster seriously.)

Anyways, I think theyd be rather natural allies by this point. Wanda has gotten rid of the darkhold, shes come to terms with her grief. BUT shes still got a weakness for wanting her family back, for wanting families to be together, and most importantly she still going to have a really negative view of Agatha.

As for Evanora, I feel like shes the kind of villain who can justify everything by taking the moral highground. (shes like lawful evil here.) I mean she sentenced her own kid to an execution that sounds like someone who always thinks theyre right and has a pretty black and white world view. mainly that anything she does is justified because its for good.

And I've been mulling over their potential partnership. I suspect Evanora would have a pretty good pitch to her. She'll help Wanda learn magic and witchery and shell help her find her sons. If Wanda will use a bit of that chaos magic to get Agatha back under Evanoras thumb. Wandas going to fall for the "Mother who made mistakes 350 years ago and wants to reform her daughter and help her not be evil" act. All Wanda has to do is kidnap Agatha and cast a new hex. One where she takes Agathas place as the leader of the Eastview coven. she gets her two sons back form Agatha, de-ages them back to 10 and gets a second chance to raise them. And then ensures the Eastview coven forgets Agatha exists.

So this has been REALLY fun in my brain to think about because im facinated by what kind of cracks would be exposed by the hex - what evidence of Agathas existence slips through. Who in her coven realizes first that something is wrong. Whether Wanda talking to these women starts to get uncomfortable with her assumption that Agatha was evil and must have manipulated them all.

And on the other side of it, We've got Agatha who's basically Evanoras prisoner. I think what i'm coming around to is the idea that Evanora doesn't have a permanent body and so shes trying to break Agatha's spirit so she can eventually steal hers and properly come back and restart her salemite coven. (I know im really evil. why would I do this to her. Angst is FUN okay!)

The thing is, while this is happening. Billy is next door. and he may have all his memories of the time since Westview surpressed. but hes got his own magic. and hes a mind reader so I think Billy and then Tommy are going to start pushing the limits of Wandas new hex pretty quickly. Evanora wont be expecting them to be a problem. wont notice them if theyre snooping. And theyll realize pretty quickly that Evanoras not exactly mother dearest.

So I'm having fun figuring out how this is gonna work. I think part of the torment for Agatha will be watching Wanda take her place but not being able to do anything about it. So im thinking of hoe her coven and she can encounter eachother when they forget who she is. (Especially Rio. that will be some torment)

So this is all very much being workshopped in my brain right now. working on what Evanoras new form is gonna be. (Chaos magic? temporary body? is she on a time crunch? is she limited to westview. does she have any salemesque allies hiding in the basement? what kind of act does she put on for Wanda? do Wanda and Agatha interact and how? How do we keep Agatha from just telling everyone shes been kidnapped? Can Wanda shut off her siphoning power (yes definitely doing that?) does she escape and how? who does she turn up to for help? does Wanda get super frustrated with Magic? if I dunk Wanda in the hallowed water at the covens little hallowed ground retreat, what happens if the little corruption purification ritual doesnt work on her (this is a really hilarious scene in my head of her being baffled that this worked for Agatha and not her). How much do Lilias gaps complicate everything for Evanora and Wanda (LOTS its LOTS).

Another thought I had is that Wanda goes into this assuming that Agatha stole her children and taught them a bunch of evil things and was probably horrible to them. and she comes out of it realizing that Agatha is the reason Tommy is alive and the reason Billy is so well adjusted rather than scared of his own power.

The biggest question I have to mull over though is whether Evanora can remain a threat if Wanda turns on her. but thats not a problem its just a plot puzzle. honestly the best kind of puzzle.

at some point, when he runs out of projects to work on and things to fix, lightning mcqueen takes on the brilliant idea of getting a late model car. what better is there to do in the middle of the week than get out racing — again.

he runs races in kingman at the local track, towing his car on a trailer behind his good ol’ 75’ chevy k10.

its familiar for him. he used to race these cars, he used to race against young drivers and old drivers alike — sometimes, he even got a chance to race against real cup drivers. those were the coolest days of his life at the time.

he recalls the victories and the championships he won in his years as a super late model racer, the only childhood pictures he has being the ones from when he was 15-17 that hang on the wall of macks truck with such intense pride. the idea brings him nostalgia, and the very real realization that he can afford to build a new one — his old one sitting comfortably in the rusteze racing museum — and, since hes done working on his truck, he has all the time in the off season to waste.

his first order of business is a chat with rusty and dusty to work out a sponsor deal.

rusty and dusty are excited at the idea, but being a primary sponsor IS expensive.. so, they tell him that they’d be willing to partner with tex to work out some sort of team and dual primary situation. they KNOW tex has always wanted to sponsor lightning, so why cant he do it now on his lower league car?

tex is delighted by this idea. he gives lightning funds to build the car, as well as works with rusteze to make a middle ground, hot paint scheme that’ll ignite the track and catch everyones eye.

once he has all the materials, his second order of business is putting everything together.

having been his own mechanic for quite a while before his radiator springs racing team came in, he knows the inside and outside of his car like the back of his hand. with minimal instructions, hes got the chassis and frame together in less than a week.

he never told doc about any of this — so imagine the mans surprise when he steps into his garage one morning, lightning is still asleep inside, and he finds the skeleton of a brand new racecar propped up on a bunch of cinder blocks.

he interrogates lightning, finally getting a confession of ‘oh, right…. uhhh wanna be my crew chief in a second series now?’, and he agrees. he helps lightning build the car too, happy father-son bonding time as they discuss what this kind of racing would look like as doc isnt too familiar. when theyre done, ramone paints her, and she’s ready to be entered in a race.

tex essentially covered the entire cost of the car itself, all lightning has to do is pay the small fee of entering it into the local track and everything is settled..

these races turn into a sort of therapy for him. he can race without all the big crowds, and he can have more personal connections with fans this way. it brings the track in kingman more publicity.

lightning is LOVED by the owners of the track. he decides it’d be in his best interest to do autograph signings and fan days there, bringing the track more publicity and more funding — cause all money from these events goes right to them.

aside from that, lightning also cant find it fair for him, a cup driver, to be racing against younger people and teams that arent as wealthy.. each win he gets there results in donation of the money.

sometimes he gives the money to second or third place finishers/their team, depending on who wants it. other times, he donates the winnings to the 50/50 raffle right before its called and he ups the pool — hell, sometimes he’ll just straight up donate the money to a local charity or school. on some random and perhaps slightly rare occasions he gives the money back to the track. its nothing against them, obviously, but he donates a ton already and he thinks other people should get chances — and they completely understand.

the only thing he would ever keep from these wins are his trophies, and even if he doesnt run ever race or he doesnt win every race, being able to get trophies reminiscent of those from his beginnings in the sport brings a smile to his face.

but… imagine one race he just gets Walled. it’s bad. his car is fucked and suddenly the world is spinning — as his car rolls down onto the apron of the track and the caution lights come on, he makes a poor attempt at crawling out of the car. its ends up with him half-sprawled across the pavement trying to remove his helmet and firesuit, racecars going by at a still high speed just meters away from his head.

it sucks, its stupid — the impact broke a bone in his knee and hip that he’d already experiences issues with from a past crash from a similar situation.. he doesnt wanna admit hes hurt, so, he avoids as much contact with medical services and doc, and just insists he’ll walk off the godawful limp hes fighting with — the one sending shudders and tremors through his whole body with each new step he takes — and he wants to fix his car.

this secrecy cant last long, obviously.. i cant imagine what a piston cup race would do to him that same weekend.

Setting: The Lotus Kingdom 🪷

A quaint undersea kingdom somewhere out in the Indian Ocean. Its main population are a peace loving merfolk. Minor populations of subspecies live here as well, all cohesively building a unique interconnected culture in the Lotus Kingdom. Despite this, there are some that work in the shadows to topple the kingdom in any way possible to create a new monarchy.

Princess Juhi

A spare by every sense of the word. The Lotus Kingdom prides itself on its sons, and the previous king was no different. What luck would smile on him for his firstborn to be a son, although it was soon discovered that like his mother, the prince had a weak constitution. In the hopes of having another healthy son, the king unfortunately was only able to sire a daughter before his wife died. Refusing to remarry, the king decided to focus all his efforts on healing and raising his son to become a perfect monarch of the Lotus Kingdom while Juhi was left forgotten to the seclusions of the outer palace.

In their youth, the weak prince would often explore and find himself in the outer palace where he’d discover his younger sister. In these precious moments of youth, it was Juhi’s only true connection to another and so she cherished every play date despite it lasting only a few encounters.

The prince quickly grew stronger and visits grew shorter as he had to take on more responsibility, thus leaving Juhi back all alone in the outer palace for the years that carried on.

With the death of the prince, and Juhi’s ascension to inherit, it thrusts all sorts of court politics into the mix. There are many against the princess’s right to rule, there are some who wish to puppet her, then there are some who are overjoyed at the prospect of change. The key element is that almost everyone underestimates her potential, including herself 😔 but my oh my this young princess has much to offer the world.

3. as a huuuuggee rhea fan, i wouldn't of even cared if liv won the match. Because there was nobody to get involved and cost rhea to lose, she was guaranteed to win in a way that would show everyone she can hold her own against anyone and deserves to have that title. She managed perfectly fine without TJD on her side before, so why can't she now?

4. o ya, raquel def fucked the match up. She came in to early, caused the DQ, and still tried to save it. Also, it was so anticlimactic how she came in. She should of had her theme song playing and she should of came out AFTER rhea was hitting dom.

5. this match was so obviously scripted it hurt like wtafff. I know i said 'assuming kayfabe' up there but cmon now. I will NEVER understand why rhea didnt just pin liv right then and there and maybe beat up dominik after. Even if raquel came out after she had pinned liv and beat her up, Rhea would still have the title and at the end of the day that's all that matters.

6. can we pls talk abt jhea? the writers started this like a year ago and are just now adding onto it bcz of the betrayal , but they've already ruined it before it even started. zero interactions two shows in a row (which i do understand the first one,, i wouldnt want my son to watch me wrestling + flirting with another woman that isnt his mother), but BFFR. Not even a behind the scenes of them talking? All we've gotten is them posting stories of one another. Come AWN neow HHH !☠️

7. okay so now were breaking up the terror twins. 💀 idk if triple H is trying to make Liv look weak or just ruin rhea's entire career. these bookings and plot line is ass and they did this w sasha banks tew. First of all im so sorry for the long askbut!! New parent idea 💥💥 i present to you: King

Now hear me out, you might be thinking ‘really??? King from wano the bird guy?? Why tf’ but my good sir there are multiple reasons

1. Fire! King is from a race called lurarians (he’s infact the last of his people because theyre world wide known as beautiful because of their white hair, dark skin and beautiful black wings) lurarians are also known to be able to set themselves on fire! So that fits prettyyy well with sanji

So if we take pt 1 with us and expand it...

2. Test subject ✨ we all know Sanji is judge 3rd expiriment and also that vegapunk has made the seraphims of the warlords combined with kings lurarian DNA to make very strong clones. Judge and vegapunk were also in a science group together so they might have some shared notes and materials...

So that brings me to the parent King au...

What if vegapunk and judge kept in touch and decided to keep King in germas dungeon for the foreseeable future because its very well guarded etc etc so he is essentially both vegapunk and judges labrat

And when judge is busy with Sora and Reiju he notices that while reiju hasnt failed his expectations for power, he can always do better so with the quadruplets he also decides to mix kings lurarian DNA in for even stronger child soldiers (so 1234ji have 3 bio parents lmao)

Maybe this alters their appearance also a bit? (Mini baby wings 🥺 that they hide becausd its a weakness maybe 124ji got them amputated later in life while sanji ofcourse kept his hidden)

But anyway canon continues and sanji gets thrown into the dungeon with his mask... Here he meets a huge winged man. First days maybe weeks they dont really talk but sanji is a child and starts talking to king because he's lonely

They startbonding and in the next almost year that sanji is stuck there they really learn to love each other and sanji shows king his baby wings and king just decides 'yup thats my kid' teaches him to groom and how to fold/hide them without being in to much pain

But then vegapunk and judge fight and split up, king was originally vegapunks labrat so he is also taken from sanji.

Canon continues with them both respectively escaping,king tried to find sanji but couldnt bc germa is very stealthy and nobody knows where they are so he joins kaido etc etc

And then they meet again in wano.

Thoughts :0?

I had to double check King's age to make sure this is plausible and yeah, he's 47. He can fully adopt Sanji. I support this fully, fire boys unite! Also imagine Heterochromia!Sanji, one blue eye and one red.

King who is Vegapunks labrat being experimented on for a good while before Reiju and the quads come along, hell, even before Sora coming along. Captured as a teenager and being held captive and tortured for years. Eventually he's locked in the dungeon and left there to rot even after Vegapunk leaves to focus on other things but leaves him in Germa. No one really interacts with the Lunarian except to bring him food and water to keep him alive in case they do decide they want to do something with him again. What it could be he doesn't know what more they could do.

Judge however has gotten married and had a daughter already but notices her flaws and while she's not a full failure, he could do better. So he infuses the Lunarians DNA with those of his coming sons, despite his wife taking that poison she won't be able to do much to get rid of that at least. He can deal with the other failures she causes later but right now he's unworried. Even when the children come, the third one is wrong, he's blond instead of darkhaired, he's easily bruised. Unfortunate really. He had high hopes for that one particularly, for the stealth instead of brute force the others were for.

He sees the wings and knows he still at least has the Lunarian DNA, he might still have some use. Maybe.

He's not and it's clear by the time Sanji is six. Weak and crying and frail compared to his siblings. He has a full range of emotions which even Reiju doesn't have. Disgusted Judge throws him in the dungeon, a metal cover his head and unconcerned if he dies down there, Sanji screaming and crying for him to come back. Apologizing to his father over and over again as if it will change anything. It doesn't. He's trapped alone in the cell but there's someone down here with him. There's a man, tall with white hair and black wings like he has, only a few years older than his mother. He's telling Sanji to quiet down, no one will come get him. Sanji can't stop crying so he apologizes and sits in the back of his cell. King gives his real name to the kid, introduces himself as Alber to the boy, he is a boy after all, small and frail and so utterly broken and too young to be there. He knows what it's like to be a failure after all. It takes all of a day for King to see the small black wings the kid has. His wings are in awful condition: Bald spots, cuts, bruises, broken feathers. King remembers what that was like, the uncomfortable feeling and itching, those wings are from Lunarians though, so this kid has his DNA or there's another Lunarian here possibly. Both are bad options, no one should be forced to live as he has. No one.

They're together for a year and some change and in that time 124ji find out about Sanji and King almost burns the little princes for what they're doing. They have wings as well, atrophied and unworked like his are. He can only stretch his so far in this cramped cell. He hears the crunch of bones in the younger's cell. He throws fire at them once and is doused in water unforgivingly. They're incredibly close, King hasn't told the boy this where his wings come from and Sanji asks if he's where his red eye comes from and King says probably, albeit he's confused about that, he's only seen the blue one.

He teaches Sanji how to preen and hide his wings more comfortably and for protection. King tells him they will be his pride and joy and he will be able to fly with them. Sanji says he hopes so. They've been together for a year and some change when they take King away from Sanji. They tranquilize him and the last thing King hears is Sanji screaming and begging for them not to take him. He wakes up to Vegapunk telling him it's time to continue their work. King stays for a year, working on getting his wings back to functioning, preening and carrying for them. Then he escapes. It's a mess getting out but he needs to get out. Needs to find Sanji, his son. He will find his son.

So he breaks out and goes hunting for Germa but hears the kids saying Sanji better be dead since he's out of the dungeon, which means he escaped. As relieved as that makes him it means he has more searching to do. He looks and looks for years and years. He doesn't find him though and ends up in Wano under Kaido, working his way up to becoming an All Star. He hides who he is and decides he'll wait, maybe Sanji will pass by.

Sanji on the other hand is going through canon mostly normally, I think having King there would partially impact how he views woman but also for as much flirting as he does he doesn't actually sleep with anyone. Zeff found out he has wings while on the rock because he's crying about how fucked they are. Zeff is staring at the black wings attached to this kid and helps him hide them when they're saved, threatens the doctor to keep quiet.

Zeff helps Sanji rehab them before Baratie opens and after it does he lets the boy fly to his heart's content. Patty and Carne will save him if he falls in the water, he can still swim but his wings are not made for water. Is he still amazing at it? 100% but like, he's not a duck or a penguin. He's part Lunarian. He wears coats like the vice admirals and admirals do. Off his shoulders to hide his wings, to keep them safe as he goes about his day. He doesn't really over heat thanks to his Lunarian traits but when he gets cold, it's so fucking cold to him.

When he joins the crew everyone thinks he's kind of prissy with the full suit+extra jacket thing he has but...he's illegal. He's an illegal race and if he gets found out he's fucked. Drum island is when Luffy and Nami find out. Sanji is begging for Kureha and Chopper to not tell anyone which they assure they won't. Kureha does tell him he's lucky he only broke his back and not his wings. Chopper says they're in desperate need of preening and Sanji admits he hasn't done it since he left the Baratie because he didn't want to get caught. He mumbles it all of course but Nami and Luffy are looking at the black monstrous wings as they unfurl and Chopper is amazed at them. They're huge. He has to have a ten/fifteen foot wingspan(if not more but anime logic) and Luffy asks how you preen wings and Chopper shows him despite Sanji insisting he can do it himself. It's too late and Chopper and Luffy are preening a wing and it feels good. Zeff didn't even preen him, not unless Sanji asked and Sanji was too proud to ask normally. Even Nami touches them and is surprised how soft they are.

They leave with Chopper and make it off Drum island and to Alabasta and meet Ace. Sanji is fine in the heat, he's in so many layers though it concerns everyone but he waves them off. He's sworn Nami and Chopper to secrecy but not Luffy because he bought his silence with meat. Sanji is so lucky he didn't inherit more traits from Alber because that cigar marine is tailing them and here and if it wasn't for these covers over his wings h would put to death immediately. Even as they take Alabasta back he doesn't uncover his wings. Not until they leave again and Nami is getting upset with him saying they need preened and that she'll do it while he's on watch. Nico Robin has joined the crew and he doesn't trust her that much and he'd rather not trouble Nami at all but she basically throws him to his knees and starts preening. If Sanji moves to help she threatens to raise his debt which he doesn't understand.

Robin probably knows but no one has else finds out until post TS. He can sill sky walk, he still learned it and to keep his secret. But no one else knows, not until WCI/Wano. Sanji notices his brothers wings are gone and Sanji is the only one left with them. The black wings he cannot cover with his red cape so at least one is always showing as well as his red eye. It has wigged some of his crew out until he showed both eyes at the same time and Robin called him interesting in the way she does some poneglyphs or rituals she reads about.

It made his stomach turn. Just as it is now as he's being called interesting again and Pudding is saying their kids have wings like he does. Big Mom says she thought Lunarians are extinct and Judge says they are. The quadruplets are only infused with the DNA, not actually Lunarian. Sanji wants to vomit.

He'd claim to be an illegal race than to be a Vinsmoke. So during the escape he claims it. He flies and it's awkward so it's a combination of sky walking and flying. Carrying Luffy and Nami to safety. His bounty skyrockets as they head to Wano. It's higher than Zoro's as Nami preens his wings and Luffy coming to help after he's had a nap and some food that Sanji made. He's wanted dead or alive with Vinsmoke as his last name unfortunately and being Lunarian added to his list of crimes.

Everyone seeing his wings in Wano is new and he asks everyone not to touch them. Zoro is confused because the fuck cook? I'm your rival? And Sanji shrugs because he doesn't know what else to do. Then fights keep happening. He uses the raid suit a couple of times, the second time is the worst. He's fighting Alber, he's sure of it. He's so fucking sure but he's drilled through buildings and he's certain Alber is going to kill him for this.

Maybe after the raid Sanji finds a moment alone before Zoro and Luffy wake up. Maybe King the Wild Fire finds him and they talk and catch up. Maybe King preens his son's wings like he always wanted to. Maybe King joins the crew.

Maybe King went to the East Blue, found the Baratie, met Zeff. They would bond over the Eggplant. Sanji's second place in the bounties. When he gets to Egghead he has no sympathy for Vegapunk, he does for Kuma and Bonney but for what he's done to his family? Never. He will never forgive him.

Hem! Sorry to send this message to someone from Paldea, but I got the idea considering the close relationship between your region and Blueberry Academy, where I teach history -

Slim Pickens (Snorlax, late adult, male, cowboy hat) and the Little Professor (Gengar, unclear, female, mortarboard cap with bright purple tassel) are two Pokemon I've had since my former career as a Gym Leader, and I like to flatter myself by thinking that I'm in tune with their needs and emotions. (Believe me, when Slim Pickens doesn't like something, he doesn't hesitate to let me know it. His son, Shady, is the same way.) The Little Professor has been moving around and getting excited less and less as of late. While a few years ago I could find her using Pickens' stomach as a trampoline while he uneasily slept and interrupting my lessons at random with demands for attention, she's been doing that less and less lately, sleeping nearly as much as both Slims. At first I thought she was just getting older - we all are, nothing to be ashamed about - and while I admit that I missed the Little Professor's disruptive presence in my life, I assumed everything was part of the natural process of aging - or as close to the 'natural process' as a Ghost-type can manage.

Unfortunately, we've got a new Ghost-type expert teaching at Blueberry Academy, and she says that I'm 'starving' my Gengar. I was shocked since there wasn't any changes in their diet from what I'd been giving them for years - and she says that the Little Professor needs a steady supply of new 'pranks' to pull on people in order to be fulfilled, happy, and healthy, and that my insistence that the Little Professor limit their mischief to me and not permit them to bother my students is resulting in some sort of Ghost-type malnutrition.

I'm not sure I trust her - she's a bit of a mystic and given to anthropomorphization. So I thought I would ask for a second opinion, since Pokemon Centers in Unova tend to focus more on the brute survival and nutrition of the Pokemon they treat rather than 'enrichment' and environment - is my insistence that the Little Professor *not* yank chairs out from underneath my students and then levitate them around the center of the room, spinning them around near the ceiling lights, a physical or mental health issue for her? Am I really being too hard-headed and rules-oriented with my Pokemon, have I let my old Gym Leader instincts make me be too harsh and demanding? And if you aren't sure, what do you think the best way to tell or research more would be?

(NB: If this is serious enough to refer this to your local Ghost-type Gym Leader, please do not mention my identity. It's embarrassing, but I fumbled the ball *badly* when asking her sister if she was married when she visited from the Academy.)

you work at one of the most well-funded and well-regarded schools in the world and you haven't consulted their library for pokemon care information? i'd highly recommend looking there.

as for your gengar, she's just slowing down as you age, because- as i would hope a ghost-type expert knows- they're life force feeders. i'm not sure where this expert has gotten her information, but the gengar line are not like misdreavus or shuppet. they prey upon people's life force by hiding themselves in shadows. it would in fact be unusual for them to draw so much attention by playing pranks. she's less active because she's basically "aging" with you.

now, while i don't mind to reassure you on your care, i do take issue with you saying pokemon center nurses in unova dont worry about enrichment. theyre as hardworking and well trained as any other nurses i've met. if you haven't heard about care outside of battle from them, it's because you haven't asked. and as for ryme, don't assume she's not professional enough to put aside whatever faux pas you committed for the sake of a pokemon. these are professionals, and it's unkind and unfair to act like they won't do their jobs properly.

back in the early 20-teens i watched this delightful movie, Shelter (2007) which is a gay surfing romance which is very cute and heartwrenching and concludes with our protag and his new boyfriend essentially adopting protags nephew. first of all this post is just a plug to get you to go watch Shelter (2007) because its very sweet and i love it very much. but actually this post is about headcanons.

see, i really quite liked this movie, but this was before i got into fandom, so the sum total of my engagement (other than watching the movie over and over again) was looking up online reviews, and one in particular stuck with me.

the argument this reviewer (anonymous rando on imdb or similar site) made was that actually, the happily ever after depicted in the movie was doomed. first of all, the romance was a rebound relationship. plus the whole adoption of the five year old nephew. protags sister would eventually want her son back! their cute little family would be broken! and thats not to mention the stress that the relationship was financially unequal.

now, in hindsight, most of the analysis in this review was probably bad faith, thinly veiled homophobia. but what stuck with me was the way this person phrased these things as absolute proof. Rebound + Wayward Sister + Money = Inevitable Breakup. as if people can really be broken down into some linear equation with only one possible outcome. because no rebound relationship has ever lasted, because no family has ever survived complicated questions of custody, because money always destroys relationships.

its pretty obvious, from a distance, to see they were cherry-picking all the details that supported their foregone conclusion. i could cherry-pick my own to counter them, but thats not even the point i want to make.

what i drew from this review, and reflecting on it, was how supremely arrogant it was to assume you could predict someones future based on only a handful of data points. a good fictional character, like a real person, is a complex, multi-faceted creation containing contradictions and moods and conflicts that are constantly in flux. its why in fandom you get ongoing arguments about what one would consider the very base characteristics of a character. its why you can have long and involved conversations about whether an action was in-character or not, and whether thats even a relevant question. what trait is actually immutable? what characteristic cannot be violated, if the situation is right?

i think most people understand this implicitly, if not consciously, and engage with headcanons in this way. 'hey' the fan says, 'if i take these datapoints from canon, i can point in this direction! isnt that a cool idea?' and the rest of us may nod or shake our heads, but we understand that there are probably multiple plausible paths. we can comment on whether a particular path is more or less plausible, but its exceedingly rare, and in my personal experience often pretty contrived, to find a question that has only one conclusive answer.

people are weird. a good fictional character should have enough meat on their bones that one should be able to build plausible and contradictory headcanons. (and thats not even to speak of headcanons which are of other types, the 'wouldnt it be fun if' or the 'what if important thing was different' or the many other categories of headcanon).

which is why its always jarring to see people take one data point from canon and extrapolate a huge, inevitable conclusion and then, rather than happily sitting on their little universe like one might expect, instead defending to the death that they must be correct. this is no longer a game to them. they are willing to throw down about it without a hint of irony or comedy to temper their words. and once theyre taking it too seriously i feel i am allowed to criticise their logical processes and point out the fallacies of judgement. the base assumption that humans are comprehensible and predictable beings. the utter and profound lack of real data.
